But when you put a regular hat on her when she's got her hair in pigtails, she's got little bumps on either side of her head that make her look like an alien. Pretty cute, but wouldn't it be cuter if her hat had little holes in it so her pigtails could escape? Yea, I think so too. So, I've decided to knit her a plain stockinette stitch ear flap hat with large buttonholes on each side for her pigtails to come through. Hopefully I can make it work. At any rate, she is very excited that Mama is making her a hat. I plan on finishing Dom's hat before I start Kait's (I'm trying to keep my # of WIPs managable), and I'm almost ready to decrease for his. For the ears, I'm planning to use the pattern for the felted baby Yoda hat as seen on Ravelry, but I'm not going to felt the ears. I'm trying to work only from stash this season (so no 'real' yarn spending until Easter), and I don't have any green wool in my stash, so I'm going to use some green pipe cleaners to help the ears keep shape.

Speaking of the Yoda costume, I'm also planning on sewing him a simple robe from an old white sheet that I have. I don't have any tan fabric, so I was thinking of dying the sheet with tea after I cut out the pieces that I need (no need to dye an entire sheet!). Has anyone done this? I'm typing this post before I go to work, so I don't have time to Google it now. Any links or tips would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!!

Ryan Adams reveals his Stars In Their Eyes moment with Oasis and Liam's Yoda-like Advice

Ryan Adams has been getting advice from Liam Gallagher after filling in for him on Oasis' US tour.

Speaking to NME, the alt.country man revealed he got to live out every Oasis fan's - and his own - dreams of by fronting the band during a soundcheck.

Adams sang one song when he supported Oasis on their North American tour in August and September, just before Noel Gallagher was pushed over at the Canadian V Festival forcing the band to postpone several dates.

"There's only one kiss I can ever remember having that could outdo that moment," gushed Adams. "[It was] unbelievable like, 'Oh my God!' It was really something else!"
Adams explained that after his "work experience", Liam even had a few words of advice for him.

"Liam's very confident onstage and he noticed I can be shy, so we talked about it one day," recalled Adams. 'I said to Liam that sometimes he just stands there like he's holding his guard. He was like, "I'm embracing it, I'm letting it happen to me and I'm letting it in; I'm holding a moment'. In that very moment Liam gave me a gift he'll never know. I tried it in my own show and I had the best show I've ever had, simply because of what he told me. It's wonderful to be learning from them, to see them keep evolving.

Ok, so, for the record, I TOLD YOU SO.  Hot on the heels of the less-than-enthusiastically received Clone Wars  movie, comes the innagural episode of the series, "Ambush" (which aired last Friday on Cartoon Network).   Remember how I asked all of you to give the show a chance, no matter how you felt about the movie?  Because with all the episiodes they're going to produce, chances are some good ones were inevitable?  Well guess what?  It freakin' already happened.

"Ambush" was awesome.  The story is fairly simple (remember, this show is geared towards a younger audience) but the devil - or, in this case, a little green angel - was in the details.  Yoda was the episode's focus and not since The Empire Strikes Back  has the pint-sized Buddha felt more like... well, like Yoda!  

One of the things that bugged me about the prequels was Yoda's "demotion" to little more than an army chief; all he did was bark lame orders like "concentrate your firepower on the big round thing."  Gone was the wise, whimsical Jedi Master who earned the love and respect of everyone around him.

Well, in "Ambush," he's back to his old self.  Yes, we see him in prequel-style combat, but this time he shows us how his size puts him at a unique military advantage (and it works).   However, the real charm of the episode was in his interaction with the Clone Troopers.  Yoda befriends, protects and teaches these "mere clones" as if they were brothers, and his scene with them in the cave brought to the surface everything you have ever loved about the character.  Between the intelligent, memorable dialog and the use of  "Yoda's Theme" music, I actually got a chill.  It flet like Star Wars.

When was the last time THAT happened?

Piratas modernos gozam da satisfação de ter filmes á disposição de suas mentes desocupadas. Quando os filmes não existiam, os piratas ficavam o tempo todo jogando dados e sujando o convés. Era uma desgraça.

Sério. POR QUE não fazem esses filmes? Yoda pirata. Como Star Wars poderia ficar melhor que isso?

Mas um pirata não assiste a qualquer tipo de filme. Como o mercado cinematográfico precisa atender a muitos gostos e tanguices diferentes, existe muito material ruim por aí. Um pirata precisa saber selecionar no que investir seu tempo.

Mas mesmo frente á enorme oferta de filmes, saiba que não é tão difícil assim escolher um que seja compatível com nossa grossura e tosquidão. É uma questão de prática. Por exemplo, se você conseguir evitar todos os filmes onde aparece esse cara:

Hugh Grant. Tanga. Faz filmes boiolas, para tangas assistirem.

e também evitar os filmes onde aparece essa mina:

Renee Zelwegger. Gordinha em quem eu daria uma conferida. Mas só faz filme motherfucker.

você já vai se livrar de boa parte dos filmes-roubada que existem por aí. São filmes que atendem a um nicho muito específico de telespectadores: mulheres e tangas. Nenhum deles é pirata, então o filme não serve pra você. Sua mina pode, eventualmente, tentar lhe convencer a assistir a um desses filmes. Resista. Você é um pirata, você não precisa agüentar esse tipo de merda.

Ok. Agora os filmes para piratas.

Também é muito simples de escolher filmes não-tangas e que atendem aos seus interesses espartanos. Falando em espartanos, quero dizer que “300″ não é um filme para piratas. É um erro comum que muitos piratas cometem, seduzidos pelas cenas de batalha e abuso de mulheres que existem no filme. Mas lembre-se: qualquer filme onde os espartanos se depilam, usam sombra nos olhos e parecem um bando de strippers, NÃO é um filme para piratas.

LE-Ô-NI-DAS, querido. Que costas fortes você tem…

É uma zombaria a todos os valores espartanos, sem falar na propaganda homossexual. E nem vou falar do Rodrigo Santoro como Rei Xerxes; gaúcho macho não chuta cachorro morto. Frank Miller, o criador da HQ de “300″, deve ter ficado envergonhado; se ele estivesse morto, estaria se revirando no túmulo. Aliás, deve ter morrido de desgosto ao ver o que fizeram com seus personagens. Se não morreu é porque é tanga.

Orra. Cês são foda, mano. Nunca mais deixo você fazerem filme de HQ minha. Morri.

Com essas diretivas básicas fica fácil de entender o que precisa constar em um filme pirata, não é? Caso você ainda não tenha entendido, eu recomendo que assista ao trailer do próximo filme do Rambo; tenha sempre esse trailer por perto, como uma espécie de “cola”. Na dúvida sobre o nível de testosterona em um filme, basta comparar pra ver se é parecido com esse trailer. Se for semelhante, é um bom filme pra você.

Outra dica legal é reduzir o filme ás suas palavras chave. É só pensar: “se eu precisasse resumir esse filme em quatro ou cinco palavras, quais seriam?” Veja abaixo como tudo se torna mais fácil com a técnica de redução ás palavras-chave:

Well, the jury came to a stunning conclusion on the Star Wars: Clone Wars film shortly after it hit theaters.  The general public, and traditional Star Wars fans hated it.  I made my point on Hey! Media about how if you look at the film through a different perspective, that of a kid, it was actually not bad.  So the movie was a setup for this TV series which premiered on Cartoon Network.  I have to say, I was quite impressed.  The scores from the original films are being used, or either variations of them.  A lot of the cool themes that made Star Wars so engrossing are back.  Awesome action sequences, a sense of mystery with the force, excellent visuals, etc.  Sure, it has it's shortcomings.  The Separatist Droids comic relief can be pretty annoying at times.  Many will probably criticize the animation and call it blocky and what not.  I thought the animation was nicely done.  Getting to see Yoda fight again was a pretty kick ass moment as well.  I think the idea with this was to make Star Wars accessible to a younger generation of fans. My generation grew up on the original trilogy.  These kids will grow up on this TV show.  That will interest them in seeing the original films and open their eyes to the whole epic universe that is Star Wars.  Lucas has done it again.  Do yourself a favor and catch Clone Wars every Friday night at 8PM CDT on Cartoon Network.

Following directly from this summer's eponymous underrated film, actually the pilot for the TV series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars will debut tonight at 9 PM in the US on Cartoon Network (and in two days in Canada on CTV, and on the 25th in the UK on Sky Movies Premiere). It is set between Attack Of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith, and more precisely between episodes 21 and 22 of the previous 2D Clone Wars series.

Judging from its movie pilot, Star Wars: The Clone Wars is actually a really high quality show if you don't forget what it's supposed to be, which is something aimed primarily towards kids. It should be compared to other spin-off cartoons such as the Godzilla and Mummy ones, which it easily surpasses, but it still focuses mostly on action and childish humor.

You musn't forget that Lucasfilm wasn't trying for a perfect likeness of live-action when making this and thus, that the look is very intentional, not a result of "making something on the cheap" as the quality of the animation is actually top-notch.

So once again, this is a worthwhile watch if you enjoy the Star Wars universe and understand what that this is a show for kids first and foremost. The first season will consist of 22 episodes, and more than a hundred are planned for the series' full run. Official description follows after the jump.

Delving into an all-new adventure every week, Star Wars: The Clone Wars provides a high-spirited and richly expanded look into the Star Wars universe. In just the first few episodes, viewers will see the broad scope of the series, through characters and stories only touched upon in the live-action films.

At the same time, Filoni said, Star Wars: The Clone Wars will uncover new adventures and fresh perspectives on classic Star Wars conventions.

Among the stories explored in the first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars:

• Jedi Master Plo Koon -- a character barely glimpsed in the feature films -- rises to prominence as he discovers a mysterious threat that could cause immense destruction -- and the evil secret behind it.
• Ambushed by Ventress and her droid army, Jedi Master Yoda teaches his clone companions that the Force touches all living things and that hope is never lost.
• On a distant planetary outpost, a squadron of rookie clone troopers find themselves struggling to survive and also learn the meaning of sacrifice.
• The Bothan home planet of Bothawui, never before seen on screen, comes to the forefront as a heroic ally falls prey to the sinister plot of General Grievous, and his friends must fight to rescue him.
• Senator Padmé Amidala faces a life-threatening showdown with her nemesis, Separatist Viceroy Nute Gunray, the victim of ultimate deception by the leader of a desperate planet.

"The Clone Wars are a time of enormous struggle and also great heroism," Filoni said. "As a longtime Star Wars fan, it is exciting to be able to bring these stories to life, stories we've only wondered about. We're going to learn just why the Clone Wars become the stuff of legend in the Star Wars galaxy."

Star Wars: The Clone Wars debuts on Cartoon Network Friday, Oct. 3, at 9 pm. (ET/PT).

BUT even though I don't much care to discuss politics I want to briefly share my facts--I mean, opinions on the debate (sorry, at my college, Southwestern Assembly of God University, people sometimes get the two confused).

My "Views":

-Biden is a friggin' cool dude.

-Palin seemed all nervous up until half way through when she made that awkward comment about no one laughing at their jokes. That's when she finally got comfortable.

- Palin saying "I'm not going to answer the questions the way you want me to" really means "I'm not going to answer the questions."

-I wanna vote for Biden...not Obama/Biden, just Biden.

-Watching Palin dodge questions is almost as cool as Neo dodging bullets.

-Biden spent too much time pointing fingers.

-Both candidates did way too much "we're just main street folk like yourselves" talk. I don't care that Biden hangs out at the Home Depot. That's actually kind of creepy.

-Palin gave a shout out. I want someone to give a shout out to me during a debate.

-Palin saying "can I call you Joe?" was hilarious.

-Even though she did, Palin would not admit to agreeing with Obama/Biden on the gay rights issue.

-Biden must not have realized that his mic was that sensitive. Did anyone else hear him sigh while Palin was talking?

This was a fun night.

 Mi discosto dal coro di voci che hanno bocciato il nuovo episodio stile animazione grafica della saga di Star Wars. Le animazioni possono non rendere quanto i personaggi in carne ed ossa, ma per un film quale e’ Star Wars, con diversi personaggi che nascono già come elaborazioni grafiche (si pensi a Yoda, ai droidi, ai cloni, ecc) non costituiscono una forzatura.

L’episodio, che si colloca temporalmente tra Episodio II ed Episodio III, e’ ricco di spunti interessanti e appassionanti che, nonstante la loro originalità, richiamano la tradizione. Simpatici i nuovi personaggi femminili, la padawan Ahsoka e il Sit Ventress; epici i ritorni (Jabba, un po’ in ombra Yoda, molto bene Obi-Wan e pure lo scatenato Conte Dooku).
Resta un po’ di suspense nel finale,  suspense che genera già attesa per il prossimo episodio (sembra in realtà che ci sarà una serie televisiva a puntate di cui questo film costituisce il prologo).

You can wonder around the chaos and the trash. Go past the piles of vomit that the no teeth carnies will never clean up and see some awesome booths and attractions.  Of course there's the amazing super duper awesome fantastical smallest woman who can shoot ping pong balls out her ass while singing the national anthem..(I made the last part up to make it more interesting. If that was actually there, I would be at the fair all day long).  Or you can walk a couple steps away and see the worlds largest alligator or pig or whatever creature they want to pawn off on people, and upon further inspection you realize isn't moving or breathing at all...complete rip off.  I guess you really shouldn't expect much from those tiny little booths whose price ranges from .50 to $1.00.  But there is always the hope that you will see something cool. I am still keeping some hope alive that maybe one of these things could possibly be..gasp..real.

A few years ago there was a butter sculpture of Darth Vader and Yoda...come on..that was pretty fucking fantastic. Much cooler than seeing your mom scarf hot dogs in the contest next door. Yeah I said it.

Vaders back looks like a penis (see it? with the veins...and the helmet?...come on) and whatever is sitting on yodas lap looks like a massive ball sack, but it was still cool none the less.

There are also a million different food options at the fair, but everone seems to buy the same fucking thing. The goddamn turkey leg.   People are walking around looking like fucking vikings with giant ass turkey legs and shit smears all over their faces. And no one seems to care because everyone has them.  EVERYONE.. (except me )

Drunks are the best part of the fair. Since they clearly cannot see from behind their giant food on a stick and their tall boy, they can't see to get out of your way so they usually will hit you dead center and then look at you like it was your fault. If you are not drunk then the drama is cut short with  nothing more than a possible swear word or two.  However, when drunk red necks collide nothing can pull the two apart. Someone, if not both, will end up on the ground while the other walks away victorious. Usually talking massive amounts of incoherent shit as they once again bump into other fair goers.

Next weekend the fair ends...then they will all come crawling back. Boo.  As lame as the fair is,  I believe it does serve a purpose. That purpose is to keep the rednecks away from me for a little while.  I have had a good week so far with no children running around, or people pulling things out of the dumpster.  I have to say that I have had it made.  Next week though...damn it..

P.S Apparently no one got my message on the top of the head side ponytails. Thats cool, Ill start carrying a pair of fucking scissors.

So I guess the lungs and heart aren't internal organs. Notice how the grammar starts off almost Yoda-like. I think the proper Yoda grammar would have the sentence end with "is due".
