Super Junior’s Kim Heechul and Kangin are currently getting ready to transform unconventionally into musical actors.

Kim Heechul and Kangin are waiting to debut through the musical “Xanadu” that will start showing in September. “Xanadu” is a 1980s musical movie starring Gene Kelly and Olivia Newton John, and currently the original work is being performed on Broadway.

“Xanadu,” which is the first musical SM Entertainment will be producing, is a work overflowing with charm and filled with the 80s music of synthesizer pop, disco, jazz, and even a big band. Last year SM Entertainment announced their entrance to the musical industry and stated that the casting of “Xanadu” will be broadcasted through a reality show style process.

FINKL’s Ock Juhyun, SES’ Bada, and recently Big Bang’s Seungri all had a good start to their musical debut, and now with Super Junior, the idol singers’ advancement into the musical industry is increasing.

Time : September 9th 2008 —> September 11th 2008
These commericals and songs make me sad because its makes me think about my youth when everything was innocent and new. What do you think? Please feel free to comment.

Those who have been observing the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks, among others, maneuver to create salary-cap space already have heard about "the Summer of LeBron." That's 2010, the year that LeBron James can opt out of his contract with the Cavs.

But the offseason of 2010 is not just the Summer of LeBron: It's also the Summer of Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Redd, each of whom can become an unrestricted free agent in 2010.

And in 2009, the list is illustrious, too: Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer, Allen Iverson, Ron Artest, Richard Hamilton, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, Andre Miller, Lamar Odom and Rasheed Wallace can become unrestricted free agents next year.

And that's not to mention all the restricted free agents, as you can see below.

Of course, not all of these players will reach free agency. But some will, which is why we're already hearing buzz about the summers of 2009 and 2010.

Take a look and see whom your team could lose … or which players it might ink in '09 and '10.

Today was a good day. It started off with me and my co-workers all being really kinda cranky at each other, but we all somehow talked it out, and I think worked out more than we think.

The day continued on to be...nice. I mean, I usually give people smiles an little "hey"s just at random, and for one of the first times this summer...they were well-received!

Lets us map progress: this morning I thought "this group is very difficult to like, as if they don't want to be liked", and by nighttime I thought "these are the people I should be with...finally".

Its so up and down with these people. I constantly feel like I'm on the outside, which is rough for someone who's usually a leader in the pack. Its just like we were all made from different fabric, and I'm the wool in a group of spandex blends. Odd, I know. But...I've just never felt comfortable.

I think I desire physicality. Not intimacy, but just reassurance. Like...sitting inbetween two people in the backseat of a car, I like to be able to let my legs rest on the person next to me. It's all about...comfort and feeling okay with being here and now. And...I'm not sometimes.

But really, today was good. No drama, just fun.

Marcus Camby has been traded to the Clippers for just a second round draft pick. The Clippers now have Kaman, Camby, Thornton, Gordon, and Davis as their possible starting five. While the Nuggets get worse and now don't even have a center anymore. Nene gets hurt too much and after him they have nobody. Camby won the NBA defensive player of the year last year. Now if the Clippers can somehow get Emeka Okafor or Josh Smith. With Camby at center he will be a great backup off the bench for Kaman. If they can't get one of those two then Camby will be a solid replacement for Brand at the four spot.

The Miami Heat retired Michael Jordan's No. 23 jersey before his final game at the team's arena on Friday night.

The jersey -- half red for the Chicago Bulls and half blue for the Washington Wizards -- was hung from the rafters, and Miami coach Pat Riley said no Heat player will wear the number again.

"In honor of your greatness and for all you've done for the game of basketball -- and not just the NBA, but for all the fans around the world -- we want to honor you tonight and hang your jersey, No. 23, from the rafters," Riley said at midcourt. "No one will ever wear No. 23 for the Miami Heat. You're the best." Jordan then hugged Riley and waved to the crowd.

It was the first jersey the Heat have retired in their 15-year history.

Jordan averaged 30.2 points on 51.5 percent shooting in 37 regular-season games against the Heat during his career. He was even better in the playoffs, averaging 34.2 points in 11 games. Before the ceremony, the Heat also played a highlight video of Jordan on the big screen. It was complete with high-flying, tongue-hanging dunks, ankle-breaking moves, shoulder shrugs, fist pumps and his trademark smile.

1. So they're casting for the Spider-man musical, and I've got say that I'm excited about the potential of the whole project. If you haven't heard, Julie Taymor is directing/creating, and U2 (or at least Bono and The Edge) are doing the score. I've heard good things from folks involved. The casting notice is interesting for a couple of reasons, first of which is the line "all ethnicities are encouraged to audition." Now, while my friend Burl would make a perfect Spidey (and I've got the pictures to prove it), are we really going to see a Spider-man or even Mary Jane of color? The fanboys wouldn't stand for it, I don't think. (Although if Stephanie Beatriz was Mary Jane, I'd be there, no questions asked.)

The other weird tidbit from the casting notice is this mysterious "Principal Woman," described as "Sinead O'Connor with a Middle Eastern/Bulgarian/Greek twist." Okay. I have absolutely no clue what that's all about--a new villain? Should they really be adding to the cannon like this? Maybe a Spidey fan will read this and school me on how this character fits into everything, and I definitely will reserve judgment, but I'm already questioning where they're taking this.

2. Whoopi is the new Rosie, as she signs on to join the cast of Xanadu shortly after doing a good job hosting this year's Tony's (go back and check out the running diary if you haven't already). The difference, of course, is that Whoopi already has a Tony. I was pretty excited about seeing Xanadu even before this announcement, and I'd like to see it with Whoopi in it, but I'll probably wait out the crowds and check it out after she leaves. Xanadu is an interesting case right now--the theater is almost full every night (at least as of the latest Variety charts), but ticket receipts are only about half of what they could be. Lots of discounted tickets to that show. So Whoopi would, it would seem, allow them to start selling more full price tickets, hopefully while maintaining that seating capacity. I hope Xanadu keeps doing well--I didn't want it to win the Tony (for obvious reasons), but it sounds like a fun little show.

3. Tickets are still available for Passing Strange's closing weekend, including the two shows Spike Lee is going to film. Seriously. Buy tickets. See the show. Be there for the taping and/or the closing. I'm looking into it myself. You're going to be real sad when you watch the filmed version and realize you could have been there.

4. My boy Rajiv wrote a play about origami. Yes. Origami. It's called Animals Out of Paper, and it's pretty damn good. Full disclosure: I recently wrote a piece about this play for the Brooklyn Rail (should be out soon), and I served as the (super informal) "hip-hop consultant" for the show (I didn't write the rhymes, just discussed them, and basically just quoted Eminem lyrics at that). So yeah, I'm biased. And one of my favorite actors in the world, Utkarsh Ambudkar, is in it--you may remember him as Nelson from The Lark production of Welcome to Arroyo's. Either way, this is a play with a lot of heart, some great performances (from what I saw in the first reading), and a deceptive simplicity that pulls back to reveal incredible emotional complexity underneath. It's like origami, come to think of it.

5. Also happening right now in NYC is 12 Ophelias by the wildly prolific Caridad Svich. If you saw Aya Ogawa's Oph3lia, you kind of have to see this one, if only to make it a total of 15 Ophelias this summer (plus, of course, Lauren Ambrose, who makes 16--sixteen Ophelias! *cue Count Von Count's thunder*). It happens to be free and site-specific in Williamsburg's McCarren Park Pool (or as El Puente students would say "MacCarrien Park" -- there's an awfully inside joke for you), and it features bluegrass and a Hamlet with a black eye, so go see it already. Here's a blog review of it if you haven't made up your mind.

I know there's a lot more, but I'm stopping there--oh wait, no I'm not.

6. Hair. It's in Central Park starting July 22. I'm a little bummed about only having ten days or so to try to see it (and my birthday is right in there, so that knocks a bunch of nights out of the realm of possibility), but I am going to find a way to make it happen. It's Hair, people. And it's in Central Park. Outside. And there's a war going on--a war with a "back-door draft." I'm not going to tell you about the virtual line, because (a) I've already written about it (I think) and (b) I don't want you beating me to the punch. I'll link it all up after I've seen it, suckas.

7. This last one isn't theater, but it's the biggest deal in entertainment this summer. I will be seeing the IMAX. Somehow. Possibly at 2am next week.

Demar DeRozan won't be joining Brandon Jennings overseas.

DeRozan, one of the top incoming freshman in the country, confirmed to FOXSports.com that he received a qualifying ACT score and will be eligible to play at USC this season.

"Yes, I am cleared," DeRozan said in a text message.

Just days after Jennings, who also hails from California, said he would opt to play professionally in Europe instead of attending Arizona this season, DeRozan received the news and is set to attend classes on Aug. 25 at USC.

With DeRozan, the Trojans could contend for what should be a wide-open Pac-10 title. Tim Floyd's group lost O.J. Mayo and Davon Jefferson from last year's team, but the athletic DeRozan could step in and fill the void left by Mayo.

USC returns three starters — Taj Gibson, Daniel Hackett and Dwight Lewis — and are also in the running to land North Carolina transfer Alex Stepheson.

DeRozan was Scout.com's No. 6 player in the Class of 2008. However, he played extremely well last week when he was one of about 25 college players invited to play at the LeBron James Skills Academy and could be the player with the greatest NBA potential in the entire class.

Both Demar DeRozan and Brandon Jennings almost couldn't pass their ACT and SAT don't you think something is wrong with that?

Check out this article recently on ESPN. Concerning the whole championship counting mess of Seattle

Check out this article recently on ESPN. Concerning the whole championship counting mess of Seattle and Oklahoma City. Most teams in the NBA when their franchise moved and if that team won a championship then the new team still counted that championship as their own. For example, the Lakers count their championships from Minnesota which is how they have 14 championship total. While the Minnesota Timberwolves do not count the Minnesota Lakers championships as their own. The Golden State Warriors count their championships from their days in Philadelphia while the Sixers count their championships that they won and not from the Golden State days. So it's really only right that the new Oklahoma City team does count Seattle's own championship as their own. But of course the city of Seattle will be mad if they do this. Seattle as well requested their name and logo to be kept in case they do get a team to move there or get an expansion team. Seattle if it gets a team will want to count its own championship as their own. A similar situation happened in the NFL when the Cleveland Browns moved and became the Ravens. The Cleveland Browns later got back an expansion team and counted their own championships from the past while the Ravens count the ones they won in Baltimore only. Which leads us to this mess with Oklahoma City and Seattle. Oklahoma City has every right to claim that one championship as their own because of the history in the NBA (Lakers, Kings, Warriors) all did this. But after 41 years of the Seattle Supersonics you can't just take away their only championship. So, I believe Seattle if it ever gets a team deserves to keep that championship as their own and count it as their own. And Oklahoma City should just start off new like the Ravens. Because this isn't like back then where the NBA franchises were just starting out and nobody cared if a team moved. The Seattle Sonics had 41 years of history they were not like the (grizzles, hornets) that moved recently. As, for retired jerseys I believe that the retired jerseys should stay with Seattle. And if Gary Payton or Shawn Kemp ever retired their jerseys they should wait and retire it at Seattle and not Oklahoma City. When Seattle gets a new team to move there or gets an expansion team in Key Arena then Gary and Kemp can come and retire their jerseys in Sonics green and yellow. But if Seattle nevers get a team again which seems likely then I believe its only right that Gary and Kemp do go to Oklahoma City and retire their jerseys there. But it must be in Seattle colors green and yellow and not in Oklahoma city colors. What do you think? Please feel free to comment.

Tony Parker will be the cover athlete and spokesman for NBA LIVE 09. In his seven NBA seasons, the 26 year old is a two-time NBA All-Star, has three NBA championships and was named the 2007 NBA Finals MVP. Parker will be the first European born global cover athlete of NBA LIVE. Off the court, Parker is an avid gamer and won an NBA LIVE 08 tournament against fellow NBA stars at the EA SPORTS All-Star Challenge last February in New Orleans.

"I have a long history with EA SPORTS. I've been on the cover in France for five years straight and I've been playing NBA LIVE for as long as I've played basketball," said Parker. "It's a real honor for me as a European player to now be represented on the worldwide cover." View the video

Two steals of the 2008 NBA draft are Mario Chalmers and Chris Douglas Roberts. These guys are so popular right now. Everywhere you go you hear how amazing Mario Chalmers is how he's dominating summer league and how he is going to become the starting point of the Miami Heat next season. You hear how amazing CDR is dominating summer league how the Chicago Bulls and many other teams were stupid to pass up on him. I don't think I've ever seen two guys in the second round who are so popular right now even more popular than the first round draft picks taken before them. They of course deserve all the popularity their both getting both leading their teams to the NCAA national title game. How could so many NBA general managers on draft night actually pass up on these guys? Anybody who selected these guys would have been praised so much. If an NBA general manager selected both he would get an A+ in every mock draft. The NBA general managers would be praised so much that they would probably get a raise. These guys are so popular. Will they be steals? Probably but like most second round draft picks they probably will be just average players at best.

In the past three years the Denver Nuggets have traded away their first round draft picks and ended up with nothing in return. In the 06 draft the Nuggets traded away their #20 selection in the Kenyon Martin trade via nets & raptors in the jalen rose trade went to the knicks who selected Renaldo Balkman remember though that Rajon Rondo was still on the board. In the 07 draft the Nuggets traded away the #21 selection in the Allen Iverson trade via sixers via heat who selected Daequan Cook. In the 08 draft this year the nuggets traded the #20 selection to the bobcats who selected Alexis Ajinca but remember though that Mario Chalmers a point guard that the Nuggets desperately need was still on board. And this is just the past three drafts. Not to mention that they traded away the #10 pick in the 1996 draft, #5 pick in the 1999 draft, the #10 pick in the 2000 draft, and the #11 pick in the 2001 draft. They also have many draft busts taking Nikoloz Tskitishvili with the #5 pick in the 02 draft over guys like Amare Stoudemire and Caron Butler. And taking Raef LaFrentz with the #3 pick in the 1998 draft over Paul Pierce (who many predicted them to take in mock drafts ) and Vince Carter, Dirk Nowitzki, and Antawn Jamison.
