<title><![CDATA[Italian shoes are a girls' best friend. VW's are a man's best friend.]]></title>

Natuurlijk moest ik meteen eens een kijkje gaan nemen. Resultaat: Lauren Leigh is twee paar schoenen rijker en 169 euro armer. Bovendien heb ik uiteindelijk mijn perfecte beige schoenen (die ik uitvoerig heb omschreven in <a href="http://laurenleighblog.wordpress.com/2008/09/03/mac-mania-een-spontane-shopping-spree-en-meer-nieuws/" target="_blank">mijn vorige post</a>) niet gekocht, hoewel die ideaal te combineren waren met mijn beige truitje. De schoenen die ik wél heb gekocht passen echter ook onder dat truitje, en onder nog veel meer. Zwarte, redelijk eenvoudige pumps met een leuk strikje achteraan passen immers overal bij. Zwarte pumps (net zoals zwarte kledingstukken) vind ik doorgaans zonde van het geld, maar soms heb je nu eenmaal wat <em>basics</em> nodig, zeker als je vorige basisstukken te klein/versleten zijn. Ter informatie; mijn vorige zwarte pumps hebben geen zool meer. Eerlijk.<br />
Het andere paar is gewoonweg verrukkelijk. Denk veel gelakt krokodillenleer en strikjes. In de mooiste intens groene kleur die je je kan voorstellen (ooit die prachtige jurk van Keira Knightley in <em>Atonement</em> gezien? Zulk groen!). Het strikje aan de tenen kan je er afhalen, als je een eenvoudigere look wil. <em>Wonderful!</em> Het enige nadeel is dat ik op amper een uur tijd weeral een walgelijk bedrag heb uitgegeven aan schoenen die ik eigenlijk niet nodig had. <em>Oh well. </em>Had ik nu maar een full-time job.<br />
(Bedenk ik plots: nog eventjes en ik heb eigenhandig de slangen- en krokodillenpopulatie uitgeroeid. Ooit krijg ik die debielen van Gaia nog eens op m'n dak...)</p>
<p>Stoere Ridder van de Carrousel heeft voor een veel minder walgelijk bedrag een nieuwe Polo 1.9 TDI gestrikt. 45000 km's en slechts 2 jaar oud, dat allemaal voor 11000 euro. Met veel toeters en bellen, zuinig, vlot, genoeg ruimte, spiksplinternieuw. En hij wordt gekeurd voor verkoop. Perfect! Binnenkort zal je ons dus zien rondtoeren in een donkergrijs schattig Polo'tje. Ik kijk er al naar uit! Voorproefje:</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Jerry from Jerry's Bug Shop finally called today to report that Bubbles is ACTUALLY RUNNING and he said, "I was real surprised when I cranked it up today.  All I've done so far is get the old gas out of it, replaced some hoses and fiddled with it a little and it's purring like a kitten."  Now he may be delusional - if he said "puttering like a lawn mower" I would believe him unconditionally.  Have you heard a VW bug?</p>
<p>He's still got to do the floorboards so it will be a few more weeks.  He gave me the tire specs and I need to go buy some tires and bring them to him and he will put them on for me.  Apparently they may not make that size anymore.  (How can you just stop making a tire?)  I stopped by my regular tire place and the owner wasn't in and the other guy couldn't find that size in the computer - he did find the alternate size "that will probably work" but none in stock.  I don't need them now - it's not like I'm going to drive over to Sumter with a truck full of tires during a tropical storm so I'll check around next week.  :)</p>

<p><strong>Mercedesfahrer, das glauben die Befragten, sind normalerweise alt, seriös und spießig</strong>. Hinter dem Steuer eines Audis, immerhin auch eine Premiummarke, sitzen dagegen jüngere und besser gelaunte "Aufsteiger" mit Sex-Appeal.</p>
<p>Noch jünger werden BMW-Fahrer eingeschätzt. BMW ist zugleich die Marke, die als am "männlichsten" gesehen wird. <strong>Außerdem haftet den Fahrern das Image an, Raser zu sein...</strong><!--more--></p>
<p>Und nur Porschefahrer treten noch mehr ins Gas, wenn es nach den Befragten geht. Die haben den BMW-Fahrern aber noch den größeren beruflichen Erfolg voraus. Außerdem werden sie noch in einigen anderen Kategorien auf Rang 1 gereiht: <strong>Sie gelten als besonders sportlich, besonders draufgängerisch, besonders arrogant und besonders attraktiv.</strong> Außerdem soll es sich bei den Fahrern großteils um Männer handeln. Stimmen da die Attribute zusammen?</p>

<p><strong>Die hübschesten Frauen werden dagegen in einem MINI vermutet</strong>. Überhaupt wird  MINI als die "weiblichste" Marke unter den Befragten gesehen. Am Steuer sitzt hier am ehesten eine junge, sportliche, fröhliche, dynamische... usw., soviel zu den Klischees. Ich seh meistens junge Männer mit Baseballkappen am Steuer der kleinen Engländer, warum auch immer. Das deckt sich also gar nicht mit meiner Wahrnehmung.</p>
<p><strong>Richtig schlecht kommen die Fahrer von Ford und Dacia weg</strong>. Über sie glauben die Befragten, dass sie hässlich, dick (Ford), schüchtern, alt (Ford), aber immerhin bescheiden. Opel kommt ebenfalls nicht gut weg. Der absolute Durchschnittsmensch, der nirgends herausragt, fährt übrigens VW. Und wie Nissanfahrer eingeschätzt werden, steht leider nicht in der Zeitung.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Chattanooga is my home town. Of course when I was younger I wanted to be an independent grownup and explore the world outside of my circle - this would apply no matter what town I was from, I'm convinced. But as a youngster I wanted to be like my big brother and try other places... So in 1985 I went off to college in Knoxville (go Vols!) and that is where hubby and I found our feet and planted roots for a while. LOOOOOVE Knoxville and the Vol spirit! In 1999 we moved to SC and have met wonderful friends and had incredible opportunities for career growth. Our hearts are in Tennessee always, tried and true, especially the eastern portion... you cannot beat those beautiful Smoky Mountains. </p>
<p>ANYWAY... I'm very happy for Chattanooga and thrilled that Volkswagen (VW) chose that city to build their US manufacturing headquarters right there. YESSS! When BMW chose Spartanburg, it turned their world upside down in a good way and sparked a bit of energy and pride here, as I hope will happen for Chattanoogans. The spirit seem super energized and they are excited to welcome VW (or willkomenn... however that is spelled haha!).</p>
<p>I work for Spartanburg Community College, who 'partnered' with the local BMW plant to build a nice facility for training business and industry workers. I've been working on pushing our economic development efforts into the new website we are working on, so I have learned more about all of this as of late. Imagine my surprise yesterday...</p>
<p>I saw some reporters milling around in our lobby, so I approached to see what they needed. Turns out they are from Chattanooga Times Free Press and are here to interview staff and students about how BMW's move here affected them, how the College partnered with BMW to provide training, development, etc. I was so excited and told them I am a Chattanoogan and so proud and happy about VW coming there. What a great feeling! It made me feel very proud - to be from Chattanooga AND to be a part of something positive where they chose to highlight.</p>
<p>So shout outs to Chattanooga! You raised me and I'm proud!</p>

Catching up on my assignments!  This was last week&#8217;s topic, but last week I did THIS week]]></description>

<p>Catching up on my assignments!  This was last week's topic, but last week I did THIS week's.  Cuz I'm a dope, basically!  :-)</p>
<p> </p>
<p>From the time I was a little kid, like most Southern California beach kids, I wanted a Volkswagon Bug.  An OLD one, the kind with the small tail lights, not the big round ones.</p>
<p>I was 23 when I walked into the garage of the guy who was selling the 1971 Beetle and I almost heard angels sing.  Fire engine red, factory sunroof, Hurst shifting, dual carbs, baja-style...shiny and beautiful.  It was a race car!  It cost more money than I ever imagined I would spend on a car...2500 dollars!  But I wanted that car.  I actually needed a car.  I'd never owned one and I was in college driving my dad's old VW van with a shot tranny which threatened to die at any given moment.</p>
<p>I decided to get the car.  Before I even left the house that evening I was thinking "what should I name a fabulous car like this??".  On a hunch, I asked the owner if the car had a name.  He looked at me quizzically and slowly answered..."yeeeeesss, his name is Dudley".  Dudley he was and Dudley he remained.  The previous owner liked that I kept the name.  But if you knew Dudley, you knew he was a Dudley.  I think Dudley was alive, just like Herbie in Disney's "The Love Bug".  Ask anyone else who knew him, they'll tell you the same.</p>
<p>In the dead of night one night I decided I needed to see if Dudley really needed that speedometer that went up to 250 mph.  I snuck onto a brand new freeway that was slated to be opened in the next couple of days and I opened him up.  I got him up to 117 mph before I freaked out thinking I'd end up with a felony on my record if I got caught.  But even at 117 mph Dudley was running smooth!!!  That was a GREAT moment. </p>
<p>But old bugs can be fussy.  I took a basic mechanics class in college, so I was able to deal with small problems that would arise.  It wasn't rare that I'd have to pull off the road and remove the fuel filter to bang out the rust from the fuel tank.  But years later I took a job that required very dependable transportation, transportation that wouldn't leave me smelling like gasoline.  I kept two cars for awhile as I didn't want to give Dudley up, but eventually it became clear to me that I needed to downsize to a single car, and I said good-bye to my old friend.</p>
<p>Now, do you think I could find a single picture of him to share here?  Nope.  I have some, but they are in a box somewhere.  I did know where the ignition key I kept was though, so I thought that might do for this challenge.  Here's Dudley's key:</p>

<p style="text-align:left;"><strong>Log Cabin</strong></p>
<p>Originally, the VW GTI was first. However, I hold the acquisition of my home at a higher priority. In spite of this, the VW GTI will most likely be the first thing I will be able to obtain.</p>
<p>No city living for me! Give me the country where my closest neighbor is miles away and I measure the span of my land by square miles, not acres. I want to go fishing in my front yard and hunting in my back yard. Ride on horseback for days and never leave my property. I want to walk outside and know that from horizon to horizon, it is all my land.</p>
<p>My log cabin will have exposed timber construction, allowing the vertical and horizontal supports inside the home to be visible. Also, the exterior walls will be reinforced and either be constructed of insulated concrete or impacted earth, which will increase its insulating properties battling cold winters and hot summers. The exterior will be given a façade in order to achieve the look of a log home.</p>
<p>All of the four or five bedrooms will be upstairs. The master bedroom will have his and hers walk-in closets, as well as a master bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub and a 4-person shower. The other bedrooms will share an upstairs bathroom. If there is enough space and there are four other bedrooms, a bathroom will be shared by each pair of bedrooms.</p>
<p>The main floor will have a sitting room, sun room, large kitchen with island and dining area, dining room, pantry, full bathroom, mud room at the back door, entry to the attached garage, exit to the wrap around porch, front door and coat closet, and my den/office.</p>
<p>The basement will have a TV room (or theater if there is enough funds to do so) with surround sound and a recreational area with a pool table, air hockey table, or what happens to be the toy of choice. Also, the utility room containing the hot water heater and furnace will be in the basement. All of the necessary electronics and networking cables will all be hubbed in a room in the basement as a makeshift IT room, if you will.</p>
<p>The washroom with the clothes washer and dryer will either go on the main floor or the basement. At this time, it is undecided which floor it will go on.</p>
<p><strong>Volkswagen GTI</strong></p>
<p>Yes, the <a href="http://www.vw.com/gti/en/us/">VW GTI</a> is often the starting point of my daydreams when accumulating things of success. I find it sexy, sporty, economical, and fun to drive.</p>
<p>The black carbon fiber hood in the picture is similar to what I like. One of the few modifications I would make, the hood will be the first. Either looking similar to or actually crafted of carbon fiber, the black hood with its large heat extractors will contrast nicely with my future GTI’s red or white exterior. However, if blue is ever available, I would much prefer a bright blue similar to the screenshot to the right.</p>
<p>The second modification I will perform is the custom audio system. No flashy LCD screens, DVD players, or navigation systems; just some good old fashioned beats with little to no bling-bling. One ported speaker box housing two 12” <a href="http://www.treoonline.com/">Treo Engineering</a> subwoofers powered by a single D Class amplifier. All gold connections and an easy connect/disconnect system so I can remove the speaker box when extra cargo space is required. The remaining OEM (original equipment manufacturer) audio system will not be removed or altered. However, a master switch controlling the amplifier and subwoofers will be hardwired in a discreet and convenient location for the driver. It is my stereo system and I wish to keep that way.</p>
<p>Lighting. To really set the mood and strike awe, aftermarket lighting is a must. Inside, I will have either red neon or “lava” light tubes over the front floor boards. A definitive decision is beyond me, right now, because I do not know exactly how the two look. Outside, I will definitely have underbody neon lighting. I have seen LED lighting and do not like them. What color? Undecided. I have seen some vehicles with more than one neon color. To do that requires installing a tube for each color. There is no one magical neon tube that will change colors.</p>
<p><strong>Chevrolet Corvette</strong></p>
<p>I know the VW GTI is a vehicle I would like. However, it can be a stepping stone to other vehicles. The GTI can replace my current 1982 Toyota Tercel two-door hatchback. Then, the <a href="http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/">Corvette</a> will replace the GTI.</p>
<p>Color? I do not know what color I want. Red sports cars are said to compensate for a man’s sexual inadequacy or his suffering a mid-life crisis. Although that is an impression I do not want to give, I still say “they” can kiss my ass with what they think about what I drive. I like red. However, the yellow Corvettes I have seen are very nice, too. Plus, I like the way yellow is bright in the sunlight.</p>
<p>Having never driven a convertible, I do not know what it is like. So, I am at odds with whether I would like my sports car to be a convertible or a hard top. I imagine convertibles are fun, which may provide some truth to the widely accepted concept. Also, women seem to like convertibles a lot more than hard tops. On this matter, I just do not know which one to pick. I will cross that bridge when it comes.</p>
<p>I do not foresee myself mechanically modifying the Corvette. On the other hand, an awesome sound system is necessary, which will be just the same as what I described for the VW GTI.</p>
<p><strong>Ford F-Series Pickup</strong></p>
<p>A <a href="http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/superduty/">Ford</a> enthusiast, Ford is the only pickup I will own. And, I see myself owning two Ford pickups.</p>
<p>One will be a new F-450 crew cab, one-ton dually, turbo diesel, which is what I have pictured above. With four-wheel drive, locking rear differential, automatic transmission with tow/haul, chicken lights, and all the options, it will be my flagship pickup, setup for towing and road trips. Modifications and accessories will include air brakes, removable fifth wheel hitch with air ride, CB radio and dual antennas, and a one- or two-cylinder APU (auxiliary power unit) for HVAC and electricity when not driving.</p>
<p>The other Ford pickup will have a big-block V8 gasoline engine, four-wheel drive, regular cab, and eight-foot bed. For this pickup, that is all that is required.</p>
<p><strong>Black Mouth Cur</strong></p>
<p>I am a dog person. I do not like “ankle biters,” so small dogs are out of the question. Cats are also out of the question, unless they are strays that hang around outside the house to hunt mice.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/blackmouthcur.htm">Black Mouth Cur</a> (sometimes called BMC) is not as well known as I would like to think it should be. On the other hand, its uncommon notoriety is part of the attraction.</p>
<p>Although dogs think its human master as a member of the pack, I am still afraid that my dog will become lonely, so I want two Black Mouth Curs.</p>
<p>Black Mouth Curs are beautiful dogs in my eyes. I like their size, their temperament, and their utility.</p>
<p>We will go hunting for birds, deer, squirrel and rabbit, coyotes, and other North American game. For fun, we will cart, play fetch, perform obedience training, train for obstacle courses, and play in the water.</p>
<p><strong>Your Best Playas Are Discreet Playas</strong></p>
<p>I am a nymphomaniac. Five times a day on a regular basis satisfies my sexual appetite. Some people think I am bragging when I say five times a day. <p>My BMW’s only modifications may be new rims and tires. Other than that, it will all be OEM (original equipment manufacturer).</p>

<p>The BMW is only a weekend driver, as well as the occasional date. Also, when necessary, I will drive it in to work on nice days.</p>
<p><strong>Land Rover LR3</strong></p>
<p>“If you can afford all of this, why settle for an LR3?” you might say.</p>
<p>To answer that simply, I have only experienced the Land Rover Discover and <a href="http://www.landrover.com/us/en/Vehicles/LR3/Overview.htm">LR3</a>. The Range Rover and Defender are two models of Land Rover I have only read about.</p>
<p>I can not say that I would like a Range Rover. However, I can say with confidence that I want a LR3.</p>
<p>No modifications. And, the color is really not all that important to me.</p>
<p>Like BMWs, I think Land Rover has international prestige and distinction.</p>
<p><strong>Unimog</strong></p>
<p>The <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unimog">Unimog</a> is a German military and farm vehicle – it is to the Germans what Hummer and John Deere is to us.</p>
<p>Filling my utilitarian demands, the Unimog is a more-than-capable worker on and off the beaten path. Available in various body styles, engine sizes, and cab sizes, this one vehicle is like the Swiss Army knife of adventurers and workmen. Front and rear PTOs (power takeoff) operate a wide range of implements from snow removal, tree trimming, winches, grass cutting, sweepers, cranes/lifts, buckets, or any other kind of implement you can think of.</p>
<p>I like the old body style, but I want all new technology: a Caterpillar diesel engine with VGT (variable geometry turbo) and intercooler; CAT engine management computer system; four-wheel air brakes with trailer electric and air brake hookups; front and rear locking differentials; auxiliary lights for work and off-road driving; automatic transmission with tow/haul feature; high (3.75:1) and low (4.35:1) gearing in front and rear differentials; two- or three-cylinder APU (auxiliary power unit) to provide HVAC and electricity to conserve fuel when not driving; air lines for operating pneumatic tools; outlets for operating power tools; hydraulics to operate implements.</p>
<p>The Unimog is a beast. It is best to stay out of its way. Grrrrr.</p>
<p><strong>Hummer H1</strong></p>
<p>Although I would very much like a <a href="http://www.hummer.com/">Hummer H1</a>, I just do not foresee it becoming attainable with a $100,000 price tag. Consequently, this and subsequent items are on more of a “wish list” than an obtainable goal.</p>
<p>If I could, I would buy: a yellow wagon; brown/tan, olive drab green, or digital woodland camouflage two-door hard top; and a white four-door with black soft top. Of course, I would have all of the options on them.</p>
<p>Every man needs a Hummer H1. H2s and H3s suck.</p>
<p>I would go hunting in them, cross-country on road trips, and go on “safari” though out the world.</p>
<p><strong>Aston Martin</strong></p>
<p>At $250,000, <a href="http://www.astonmartin.com/home">Aston Martins</a> are also unattainable and on the “wish list.”</p>
<p>Aston Martins are, in my mind, the ultimate in luxury sports cars. They are sexy, strong, sleek, and masculine. I find nothing about this vehicle that both men and women would not find appealing.</p>
<p>I am not well versed in Aston Martin’s lineup, but I believe the above is a picture of a V12 Vanquish S. Turbocharged, supercharged, or naturally aspirated… I do not know.</p>
<p>Seeing these beauties in person is totally different than seeing them in a picture or watching them on video – it is like going to the safari to see the animals you normally watch on TV.</p>
<p>Quixtar was hosting a conference in Scottsdale, AZ, for their IBOs (Independent Business Owners). If you do not know Scottsdale, it is commonplace to see cars worth over hundreds of thousands of dollars driving all around or parked on the street outside businesses. I have never been to another place like it.</p>
<p>I was parked at a stop light when an Aston Martin pulled up beside my teal 1996 Mazda 6. She was a beautiful convertible with shining white paint on the outside. Inside, she was lined with leather. The sound of the engine and the acceleration from the stop light made me want to cream my pants. And, all of the refinement that I saw inside the vehicle was just incredible.</p>
<p>The thirty-something female driver did not seem to mind that I was checking her out. When I finally noticed the driver and shyly smiled when I discovered she had been watching me look at her car, she only smiled real sweetly.</p>
<p>Another time, a black coupe sped by me on the highway. Later, when I had caught with it in the city, I learned this driver was an older male in his fifties or sixties. This Aston Martin sounded much more aggressive and powerful than the previous one I saw.</p>
<p>Before these encounters I never really liked Aston Martin. After these encounters I have fallen in love with them.</p>

<p>Em teste realizado pela Volkswagen, sob a supervisão do Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia, o automóvel Gol 1.0 Total Flex (modelo 2008-2009), percorreu 1167,1 quilômetros com 55,6 litros de gasolina, ou seja, consumo médio de 21 quilômetros por litro.</p>
<p>O carro percorreu a distância entre São Paulo (Capital) e Vila Boa (Goiás) com dois ocupantes, cujos pesos somados totalizaram 150 quilos. Os pneus dianteiros do automóvel foram calibrados com 33 libras e os traseiros com 31. O VW Gol completou o teste com a velocidade média de 75,53 quilômetros por hora.</p>

<p>The Volkswagen Gol is a low cost subcompact cardesigned in Brazil and sold by German automaker Volkswagon since 1980. It is Volkswagen's entry-level car in the South American market, beneath the other superminis, the Fox and Polo. It has uninterruptedly been the best-selling car in Brazil since 1987, and since 1998 in Argentina. Gol sales in South America are also high; over 5 million Gols have been produced since 1980. Gol has also been produced in Iran under the same name.</p>
<p>The Gol, which takes its name from the Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish word for "goal" (In European Portuguese, the word for "goal" is <em>golo</em>). In Persian Gol means "flower."</p>
<p>In Argentina and Brazil, those who had the old Gol before the newer design (not the newest design, as described below) came out, were thought to be cool because they were ahead of the curve, so to speak. </p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Em agosto, a montadora lançará o <strong>Linea</strong>, modelo com o qual pretende voltar a brigar no segmento para ampliar sua liderança. Baseado na plataforma do Grand Punto europeu, com entreeixos 9 centímetros maior que o nosso Punto, o sedã terá duas opções de motor, ambas flex: 1,9 litro 16V de 130 cavalos e 1,4 litro 8V turbo de 150 cavalos.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Outra novidade esperada há anos é a chegada do novo Ford Focus. O modelo vendido aqui (fabricado na Argentina) ainda é o mesmo da primeira geração. A terceira geração, que foi lançada na Europa no começo deste ano, servirá de base para o design da nossa nova versão – tanto para o hatch quanto para o sedã - que serão apresentados no Salão do Automóvel.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">A plataforma, porém, continuará a mesma. Além do desenho renovado, o modelo ganhará uma versão flex para o motor 2.0 de 147 cavalos (que deverá passar dos 150 cavalos abastecido com álcool). O modelo atual continuará em produção, provavelmente apenas o hatch com motor 1.6 flex, como versão de entrada.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">A VW prepara uma novidade que não é tão nova assim para o segundo semestre. O <strong>Voyage</strong>, sedã derivado do Gol, volta à cena embalado pelo lançamento da nova geração do campeão de vendas. O nome, porém, ainda não foi confirmado pela montadora, que pode optar pelo sem-graça Gol Sedan. De certo mesmo é a adoção de um novo motor – o 1.4 litro flex de 80 cavalos (com álcool), que passou a equipar a Kombi.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Na pauta dos próximos meses, entre outros, estão os Citroën C4 hatch e a remodelação do C3, o Nissan Livina (concorrente do Honda Fit) e o Chevrolet Meriva renovado. No ano que vem, devem chegar o Honda Fit Sedan e a picape Peugeot 207.</p>

<p>Porsche România va lansa în luna octombrie noua variantă a modelului Volkswagen Golf, cea de-a şasea generaţie, care va dispunde de două motorizări pe benzină şi patru pe benzină, a anunţat, marţi, compania.</p>
<p><span class="textstire">Motoarele diesel de 2 litri vor dezvolta 110 CP şi 140 CP, iar cele pe benzină vor include patru variante, respectic cu 80 CP, 102 CP, 122 CP şi 160 CP.</span></p>
<p>Propulsoarele au un consum cuprins între 4,5 litri de carburant la 100 de kilometri şi 6,4 litri, în funcţie de versiune.</p>
<p>Preţurile modelului Golf 6 pentru România vor fi comunicate în apropierea momentului lansării.</p>
<p>"Cea de-a şasea generaţie a modelului<strong> Golf</strong> face trecerea la sistemul de injecţie Common-Rail pentru motoarele diesel, iar sistemele TSI şi DSG reduc consumul de carburant până la 28 de procente", a declarat, într-un comunicat, directorul mărcii <strong>Volkswagen</strong> din cadrul Porsche România, Matei Albulescu.</p>

Those were not my doings. It so happens that when the car was parked at the Intercontinental hotel, the next morning the scratches sudddenly appeared. We arrived just after 7pm at the hotel and because I had to take oliver, the luggage and his wheelchair out of the car, I had no time to park the car. My other half, having complete faith and trust in the conciege, convinced me that it would be better if they parked it. I was fully loaded so I had my arms tied behind my back and that's where it stayed.</p>
<p>The following morning as I prepared to go to church service (6am), I boarded the car from the driver's side going round the back and didn't notice anything from the front (oh,duh). But just before I entered the church I turned back and noticed the scratch. I could not have done it cause on the way to church I didn't bump into any cars and in the parking lot there were no cars. So ... it must be clear that I didn't commit this crime! Naturally, I was fighting all the demons off in the church as the priest's message was to forgive from the "heart". I had already gotten a heart attack from seeing it from afar but now I also had to play mind games with the devil. Don't you just hate that when it happens? Anyway, a demon is a demon and you will always get those but I guess this one was in for a fight.</p>
<p>After the service ended, I drove back to the hotel and confronted hotel management. Oh, wait. I consulted my other half first just to get the legal stats. on the matter. After reporting the incident, management claimed that it wasn't their fault and that their valet parker wasn't the guilty person. I was furious at that time as I had just taken pictures of the car before wanting to sell it. (I do not have those photos here right now as its on the other PC but you guys who have been following me and have seen the car, clearly know that that scratch wasn't there before.</p>
<p>So the outcome, they all claimed foul, ran for the road and fled. I cann only say that I won't allow valet parking again at any hotel.If they do not know how to drive a proper car why should they be allowed to drive. So to end - a scratch will be a scratch - but in this case it is another addition to our overheads. Did I hear that the bank manager is screaming again? Ah, maybe but then again who drives around with a spotless car nowadays anyway.</p>

A afirmação vem dos próprios dirigentes da marca, revelada em primeira mão aos redatores do endereço eletrônico da revista Auto Esporte.</p>

Contrariando as expectativas, o batismo, para muitos, é uma forma de nostalgia, lembrança e até homenagem ao querido sedan que marcou história no país durante seus 15 anos de comercialização. Desde 1981, quando foi lançado, cerca de 1.247.766 unidades do VW Voyage foram produzidas, sendo a grande maioria destinada ao mercado consumidor interno.</p>
