Shak introduced me to a Russian singer and he's much more popular in Korea, Japan and Taiwan. His voice is amazing. Not only amazing, but I found it totally unexpected. Now ladies, you shouldn't underestimate a guy. There might be some surprises that a guy can pull of that some women think it would be impossible. I'm not being sexist here, I'm just surprised of his talent really. Here's what I mean:

He goes by the name Vitas and the song's title is Opera #2. However, his music video actually creeps me out, but still kinda cool. :)

Yesterday, I was doing research on Russia's president, Vladimir Putin.

Today, I'm addicted to a Latvian-born Russian pop singer, Vitas. I simply love his amazing super high pitch voice, his facial expression and the way he moves. Totally way too cool!!

I've seen a few men that were simply beautiful. And the word handsome doesn't fit. It had to be beautiful you know?

A beautiful man is not less masculine than a handsome man, a handsome man to me is a traditionally good looking guy. Fits all the generic qualities of a good looking man you know?  A beautiful man has something different and unique out there about him. A beautiful man is more of a work of art than a handsome man is. 

Vitas. He, is a very beautiful man. Something about him is just more than handsome to me... He's a beautiful man and that doesn't take away from his mascuilinity, he's just beautiful you know?

Brad Pitt. The man is gorgeous. He is handsome. Doesn't mean he's less attractive but in a sense he is to me because he is a traditionally sexy man. He's good looking but he doesn't have that extra "thing" that makes him stand out.

Taye Diggs is a very beautiful man. -Fans self- But see he is masculine very masculine. But he's still beautiful like vitas is beautiful you see?

And then there are the guys that don't fit either category but are just cute like... Ashton Kutcher. He's hot. But neither handsome or beautiful in my opinion.  I just felt like sharing that. I woulda posted more pictures but then I would've been late to work drooling over them all.  I had fun with this post.

I've never laughed so much watching a music performance because of how seriously it takes itself. I think I'm most fascinated by it , besides being the most hilarious thing I've seen all week, but, because of its foreignness to me, makes pop music, and performance, more objective. And it makes me wonder what Britney Spears looks like to a native Amazonian.

Also, I guess bringing up Britney Spears was appropriate because it reminds me of a blog post I wrote on myspace about her and that performance that everyone universally agreed bumped her up to "trainwreck" status. This whole "trainwreck" thing is interesting because I think that Britney Spears was always ridiculous, just like Vitas is in this video. But something about her life made her fall from grace (perhaps going from 17 year old virgin, to "overweight" pregnant pop star?) and we stamp "trainwreck" on her for illuminating the ridiculousness of pop performance in general.

Yet the difference, is of course, that Vitas can actually sing.  For a song by him that I actually like, check out Opera #2. And for more ridiculous costumes, his website.

My ex introduced me to this guy. Vitas. Oh my friggen goodness. His voice just makes me... -passes out.- It gets down inside of you and it's like he's lifting your soul outta your body and making it all clean again. You know... or something.

I'd marry him. Even if I don't know how to speak Russian.

But see how his voice makes me feel so good, makes me cry a good cry. It makes me feel better. That's why I wanna pursue music. Because it brings me so much joy. And lots of other people. It just has this way of making you feel okay. Even if there's no words. Even if you can't understand the language... it's a beautiful thing.

I love classical music. There's just something about it you know? It's beautiful. And if I were to sing I'd sing classical music. Be an opera singer or something. That. Would be like the best thing ever.

I can hear my mom now like "Where the money in that how much do those types of singers get paid?" And you know I don't know. But I'm not choosing music as my profession because of the money. I'm choosing it because it brings me the most joy. I have a huge passion for it. If you have passion for your job then you'll love going to work every single day. :)

In the movie his voice is really intoxicating. And I guess that means that he played his part well right? Because it did exactly what it was supposed to do. Had I been in her position, I'd choose the phantom over Raul any day. Just sing to me baby. And I would never leave you.

Who woulda thought that in a few years he would be screaming "THIS IS SPARTA!" in like one of the greatest movies like... ever. [talkin' bout 300 for those who may not know] It's crazy how talented some actors are.

And singers.

And composers.
I really do give it up to composers.
To compose those beautiful pieces the way they do... I know it's not easy. To think someone really creates all this beautiful music?
It's great.
