At the closure ceremony of the Beijing Olimpic Games, we saw how London was introduced as the organizer of the next Olimpic Games through a show in which we watched some of the stereotypes related to the city, one of them being the typical two-stages bus. In this act, several people run to get on the bus, even running over a man in a wheelchair. That's politeness! Is this was the time to show the best of them and they treated a disabled man like that, how bad could it be in reality?

i actually kinda miss my brothers together. )_:
we all have something in common, yet our differences set us apart further. because we follow the different schools of thoughts. and we are pawns of different masters.
wee gonna move out on friday already.
wee, babytan and i went for movie last night. probably a long time before next.
before babytan was borned, the 3 of us always played stupid games with many different characters. but since i'm the youngest, i always played the good guy and they took turns to be baddies. wee always proctected me from mother's cane strokes whenever we got caught for our mischieves.
we do have one thing in common no matter what.

how are you, bonjore, that is what i have been doing, massing (massive), messing with system. i want her to look normal to be fine again, my hair to be strong and healthy, or even shinny. its dry and brittle with an inching scalp. system is rejecting her, abandoning her. i need to do something, before system changes owner and float in the universe, dangling around, belonging to no one.

The UnSpeakable Hacking Fever

Through the past few weeks a wave of unspeakable creative madness swept over Indie Explosion! forum. Everybody, simply everybody, is hacking InSpectres and UnSpeakable these days. Nearly twenty hacks were already discussed, and some of them got actually fleshed out and playtested. So far, so good, but this freight train doesn't seem to stop.

I think bunnies must have caused it with their minds.

So far, only my Gurren Lagann hack is available in English, though I might translate more of them eventually. Either way, here's the current list of our hacks:

BloodSpectres, a vampire hunters hack by Jacek Golebiowski.
Bomb New York, a terrorist hack by Kamil Wegrzynowicz.
InDiana Jones, a pulp adventure hack by Kutak.
InDungeons, my old school dungeon crawl hack.
InHeroes, a superhero hack by WitchDoctor.
InVestigators, a detective story hack by Szabel.
IronSpectres by vh, based on the cult movie Tetsuo: The Iron Man.
MageSpectres, a discussion on converting Mage: the Ascension, including one complete hack proposed by vh.
Mission Rush! by Jacek Golebiowski, a mercenaries hack posted some months ago.
Pirates! by Szabel, a pirate hack, harr!
PostApocalypse a post-apocalyptic survival hack by Magdalena Wilamowska.
The UnSpeakable Berserk, my attempt at emulating grim dark fantasy in the vein of Berserk.
The UnSpeakable Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, my over-the-top heaven-drilling mecha drama based on Gurren Lagann anime. This hack is also available in English here.
UnConquered, my conversion of Exalted. It's over nine thousand!!!
UnHollow, a shinigami hack by Jacek Golebiowski, based on Bleach.
Samurai 7 by Jacek Golebiowski, based on the awesome anime series of the same title.
WarSpectres FRP, my unspeakable conversion of Warhammer FRP.

The basic InSpectres engine proved pretty flexible and potent, especially with all those smart modifications from UnSpeakable included. Even a single change or addition can turn the game on its head and create something that feels completely different in play, and the best part is that it's not limited to different color.

I found that tinkering with the formula of Confessionals in particular can produce very interesting results. For example, in my dungeon crawl hack Confessional allows the player to draw a portion of the map and add annotations on features, traps, monsters. As a result, in our playtest there was effectively no story as such - instead, there was a constantly growing dungeon map and we had loads of fun with collaborative automapping.

All in all, there was quite a lot of fun stuff going on my Polish forum lately. What I like the most about those hacks is that thanks to the minimalist, time-tested InSpectres engine they're relatively fast and easy to create, but each of them includes at least a single brilliant idea. I hope to see more of them soon - especially more anime adaptations, as there's never enough of those.
