Nekateri smo se na prizorišču, ki je bil v parku Tivoli, zbrali že ob 3h zaradi službenih razlogov, ko so še postavljali oder... Tako da sem imela priložnost videti prizorišče še čisto, prazno in v celoti. VIP prostor - naravnost fenomenalno urejeno. Foteljčki, mizice, ležalnici, velika okrogla TV plazma, zaseben šank... Oder velik, prizorišče zeleno...  in dokaj kmalu so se že prvi flašerčki začeli dobivati in popivati...

Mladina je začela prihajati že pred 17.uro, kjer so se zasidral na bližnjem travničku, zraven nas, ki smo bli tam med prvimi... ;) in kaj... začeli so ga pit, kadit... skratka se pripravljati na žur poletja. Sicer sem bla presenečena nad starostjo prihajajočih, ker so mi delovali stari 12 let... na koncu smo ugotovili, da so dejansko bli tok stari :S no ja, zabava se je kmalu začela, Umek je začel vrtet svoj tehno, mladina se  je nabirala, vsem pa je vedno bolj dogajalo... v takšen in drugačnem stanju. Postalo je noro...

Pred vhodom so prodajali razne klobuke, svetleče rožičke, lizike, palčke... mladina je bila oblečena v prava flašerska oblačila... puh, čevlji z visokim podplatom, kronce na glavah, svetlikajoči pasovi majčke in hlače, v laseh vse možno, le da je kičasto, tudi krilca angelčka smo uspeli videti... vsega po malem ja...

Pred odrom se je trlo ljudi, ki so kričali in plesali... prav tako pa je bilo tokrat ogromno novinarjev in fotografov, ki so snemali in slikali dogajanje...

Celo Jankovič je prišel in oznanil, da se žur nadaljuje preko dovoljenega časa, torej smo podaljšali za eno uro in sicer do 24h. Ko smo slišali za dovoljenje, se je večini prisotnih žurerjev malce "zrolal" saj misel na to, da lahko še eno uro več popivajo, ups, žurajo ;) je bila fenomenalna! odklop! totalen! tista zadnja ura je bila  najbolj doživeta za vse, ki smo bili tam...

A kljub pomanjkanju vsega naštetega, je bilo zanimivo. Namreč odvijal se je Teden mladih v katerem sem imel nalogo da posnamem dogodke, jih ponoči zmontiram in objavim na foto.ksk.si . Sicer ni bilo tako naporno, ker sem imel sodelavca Andreja, s katerim sem v tem tednu spal večkrat kot s punco, ja jebat ga. Poleg Tedna mladih pa se mi je v času od zadnjega posta na blogu dogajalo še miljon stvari.

S Klemenom Globočnikom sva po dveh mesecih ustvarjanja, končala z delom Masaker Povprečja, zbirko grafično obogatenih besedil. Razstava je trajala od 10.5 do 17.5 v Pungertu, tisti ki ste jo zamudili pa si jo še vedno lahko ogledate online na naslednjih povezavah.

Konec Aprila pa so se smučarji in snowboarderji skušali v poletih čez lužo na Luža contestu,nekaj dni za tem Cvičkarija v LJ, nad katero sem zaradi čudnega kompliciranja glede fotografiranja razočaran.Kranjske reševalne službe so nam predstavile spektakel simulacije reševanja na železniških tirih,Electronic Carnival v Mariboru,Kresovanje za prvi Maj,Škisova tržnica,ples maturantov 2008 in še precej drugih reči.Med drugim tudi obisk dveh snemalnih dni filma Osebna pritljaga režiserja Janeza Lapajne. Za majhno "vlogo" se moram zahvaliti Nejcu Gazvodi, ki me je poklical,če pridem v 2 kadra "odigrati" vlogo fotografa. Zanimiva izkušnja, zato sem sprejel. Danes pa sem se dobil s kolegi foruma s katerimi smo naredili par fotk s srednjeformatcom. Kolega Redeemer je imel s seboj še 50 1.4, zato je čas kar prehitro minil.

No pa da ne bom preveč nabijal, mesec strnjen v slikah :)

Uros Umek is internationally acclaimed deejay and music producer from Slovenia, seducing the masses with his own music blend for more than a decade. Always on the look for new sounds and determined to challenge every existing cliché in music industry, he managed to define his own vision of vanguard techno. Sure, this would not happen without the support of his loyal peers who've joined him on the production platforms such as Recycled Loops, Consumer Recreation and Astrodisco, with which they defined "Slovenian techno sound" and successfully it as an important driving force on the global club scene.

He started his journey to the stardome as an excellent athlete, running between two baskets, but it was Euterpe the Muse of music and poetry that paved Umek's life-path. She got him totally unprepared, seduced him with no further notice, so he had no chance of getting out of her treads. He devoted his life, his heart, all of his passion and energy, to the sounds he discovered as a teenager. Pioneering the genre he became one of its most appreciated ambassadors with faithful worldwide audience simply known as The Father (of Slovenian techno).

Sleeping on past achievements was never Umek's thing. So it's nosurprise he decided for complete renovation of his sound and live set performance though being steady member of Top 100 DJ lists for almost a decade. The year 2007 marks beginning of a new chapter in his music career. After spending enormous amount of time and artistic energy bringing his characteristic sound to the whole new level, he presented new international music therapy called 1605 – Sixteenofive. No doubt this was a very risky move. But it was the only way for him to stay on top of the game. And it seems he made the right decision at the crucial time: the response to his new vision of electronic dance music from his peers, critics, media and most importantly his fans is great and his production is supported by some top names in the industry.

mK: Why people call you "Votter" in Slovenia?
Umek: Because I am on the scene for so long and I was one of the pioneers of the electronic scene here in Slovenia.

mK: How things started with you and techno? How did you discover your sound?
Umek: It started with acid house a long time ago when I had 11 or 12 years. I just loved those sounds. Compared to music you could hear on our radio stations at that time the sound was very different. . Even years latter the electronic music was really rare on our radio stations. But things changed in the last few years, finally!!!!

mK: What's your fondest memory of a night on your first steps?
Umek: I still remember my first DJ experience. I was always watching a friend of mine while he was djing and one day he just asked me out of nowhere if I wanted to play. Of course I said yes so he gave me the headphones and he went to the bar.. I was so confused but somehow I managed to bring a set to the end .. hehehehe.

mK: Who inspired you to pursue techno music as your production style?
Umek: I was really into Westbam´s early stuff and Surgeon´s work between 1996-97, but these days I get my musical inspiration from playing in clubs all around the world.

mK: What's your favorite piece of studio gear?
Umek: Definitely Logic and Reaktor

mK: What software do you use in the studio, Protools? Logic? Cubase?
Umek: Logic, Reaktor and a lot of soft synths. I am completely digital now.

mK: What is the most frustrating aspect of production?
Umek: Not finding track parts when I need them:)

mK: How did you react to Radio1 asking you to mix the latest Essential Mix? How did you choose the tracklisting?
Umek: I was really excited and I knew I had to do a really good mix. I do so many radio shows these days and I do not want to repeat the tracks so I had to be really careful with what I choose.
I was going for a mix with combined techno, electro and house as a base platform and with some minimal DJ tools on top. I think I managed to do what I intended and I am proud of it:)

mK: Lately you've done the Oldies Goldies Event at Fun Factory in Slovenia, how was it? Which is your favorite gig location?
Umek: This event was great . It always is. Club was sold out and a lot of people could not get in at all. In Slovenia we do not have so many clubs but there are always K4 and Factory.

mK: Who are some of your favorite producers on the scene?
Umek: Just check my charts hehehe. At the moment we have some new Slovenian producers which I think will go big soon: Andrew Technique, Tomy DeClerque, Aneuria, Robert G Roy.....
wait a bit and you will be surprised.

mK: Is there an artist that you would like to work with?
Umek: I cannot think of one right now but I would love to do an interesting remix and I am always open for cooperation.

mK: Do you prefer DJing or working in the studio?
Umek: I love both: cannot live without DJing and I cannot live without producing.

mK: Everyone has a favorite song, one that they always "come back to" over time, what's yours, and why?
Umek: That is changing all the time. I get bored of a certain track after a while.

mK: What's on your studio right now? Future releases include...
Umek: I did a lot of tracks lately so I will have some nice releases coming out within next months. EPs on Astrodisco, Renaissance, Circle Music, Pacha label and together with Matthew Hoag on Little Mountain....... a lot hehehe

mK: Is it true that you date policewomen?
Umek: heheheh

mK: I know you're a busy guy, whether you're at work in the studio or DJing thanks a lot for your time.
Umek: No problem. I had fun doing it

It could well be said that alongside fellow countrymen Laibach and Umek, Valentino Kanzyani is one of Slovenias biggest musical exports. As well as spinning techno and house on three decks across the world to huge crowds and acclaim he has released a barrage of dancefloor anthems for labels such as Primevil, Yoshi Toshi, Intec, Wet Musik, Tronic, Primate, Consumer Recreation and his and Umeks jointly run Recycled Loops and Earresistible imprints. If anyone can lay claim to putting Slovenia on the techno map then the name Valentino Kanzyani ranks high as one of its biggest propagators.

Already a big name DJ within his native Slovenia, in 1995 a club called Ambasada Gavioli opened and Valentino Kanzyani became known as the man behind one of Slovenias most famous venues. During a three and a half year period he booked and played with literally every DJ from around the globe but as the new millennium approached he left to oncentrate on his own DJing and production work. It was after going into the studio with his old friend, Umek that Valentino was to release his first record as Recycled Loops on Primevil in the summer of 1999. Thus, Valentino Kanzyanis name was soon to be heard in DJ sets all over the world and similarly his DJ gigs went supernova as he joined the jet set elite of globe-trotting record spinners.

Following the success of their initial release Umek and Valentino set up Recycled Loops as a label and have never looked back. Now having released some 12 records the duo also co-run Earresistible for their more house inspired production work whilst Valentino Kanzyanis single-handed production skills have graced labels as varied as Intec with the House Soul EP and Tronic (Burros Eslovenos) to Yoshi Toshi with the massive Flying whilst he has most recently remixed Carl Coxs new single, gaining Essential Selection status from Pete Tong.

Earresistible evolved due to the pairs shared passion for tribal house and elements of this and Valentinos techno side can be witnessed on the expertly mixed CDs Rock The Discotheque Volumes 1 and 2 (Matrix Musik) and the 40 odd remixes he has carried out on labels such as 23rd Century, Premier Sounds, 20:20, Urbana, Shine, ZYX, Intec, Wet Musik and the list goes on

Valentinos DJing has taken him to every corner of the world. His three deck skills are second to none and as a result hes toured the world steadily for the past few years taking in Brazil, Colombia, Japan, USA, Australia, Singapore and every corner of Europe, whilst on radio he has been heard across the globes airwaves culminating an Essential Mix on Radio 1. >From 10,000 plus strong crowds at the worlds biggest festivals to intimate club gatherings Valentino Kanzyani now finds himself in the premier league of trans-global Deejays. With a new DJ mix CD out on Carl Coxs Intec in 2005 and the new label Jesus loved You out in 2006 the next twelve months look set propel him even further into the stratosphere.

mK: What's like being called "Slovenia's big thing"?

Valentino Kanzyani: I am very happy about that because I am coming from a little town located at the Slovenian coast line with barely 30 thousand rezidents - I managed stay out of trouble and become something special. I make my family proud of me.. That´s what matters for me..

mK: Tell us a bit about your early djing days.

VK: The music is and was my driving fuel - at that time around 1991 there were no ˝superstar djs˝ and stories and it was all about being there for your own passion and love. Nowadayz a lot of youngsters have different perception of what a DJ should be like - they often see just the ˝jet set˝ side of it. So a lot of them are missing the point: many of them become famous because of their production skills and when they come to the club they deliver a poor performance. I am happy that I did my long line of low-profile locations with poor equipment and bad sound systems, because today I am able to solve any coming problems. So my early djing was all about learning and growing into what I am today...

mK: How would you complete this statement? "Music is..."?

VK: the only truth.

mK: One of your latest releases include a mix compilation for the legendary techno club Palazzo, how did you choose the track-list for this mix?

VK: It was a long and joyful work as I always take time to choose the tracks. The compilations for me are like statements in time and I want to make it perfect from my point of view...I am really happy with the track selection and I am really looking forward to hear the reactions, that is what matters even more.

mK: How are things with your digital label "Jesus Loved You"? Future releases include...

VK: Great! My label is expanding, we did a lot of things this year to promote it : we had an event during Sonar in Barcelona, we have our own radio show on Proton called Simplicity and so on... I am very happy with the music we are receiving and releasing, especially because it comes more and more from our country and ex yugoslavian countries..
Future releases include: Space Explorers with a rmx by Boris Brejcha, Adriano Filipucci, Marko Nastic and others.

mK: You are currently on tour for your booking agency "Kne' Deep", the past few years you've been giging all over the world, which is your favorite location?

VK: There are many locations I like but I always speak out about Brazil and Spain... I must add Colombia after the amazing tour we recently did.. It was incredible and I look forward to going back there soon....

mK: Production wise which is your most useful studio tool? Any secret tips for young techno producers?

VK: My lap top, of course. Its my studios heart and my traveling studio, too.. My best tip is to reduce all the software to the minimum and know all the little secret your software is offering....

mK: Currently we see you producing more minimal, electroish stuff, what are your main influences at the moment?

VK: My main influences are always the same, they come from all around the globe but in the recent two years I must admint that I get a lot from spending my summers in Ibiza, I love this Island and it always fills me with new ideas and energy.

mK: If you were to choose between djing and producing which one will you choose?

VK: Hehe, DJing is my first love....

mK: You are pushing your music through some of the best techno imprints out there, like your own Recycled Loops, Cox's Intec, 20:20, Primate and the list goes on.. Ho do you feel about this?

VK: Proud!

mK: Speaking about Recycled Loops which you co-own with Umek, tell us how this project come about and when you two meet?

VK: We met in 1993 and please read my biography for the rest, cause I told this story already a 1000 times..:)

mK: What more should we expect from you in the near future?

VK: A collaboration with Marco Nastic and more great music and Remixes to come. Also I want to focus on more Jesus Loved You events.

E esse electrohouse, então, qual a necessidade de juntar mal duas coisas que são excelentes sozinhas, que provocam aquela dança rebolada, solta e divertida nas pistas, sem compromisso algum com o amanhã? Porque quando o electro ou quando o house viram electrohouse, penso que eles perdem o que cada um tem de melhor: a poluição sonora do electro e o conteúdo rico do house. Fica uma passagem de um para outro que não se decide nunca e que, uma hora, cansa também de fazer o público esperar para ver o que vai acontecer.

Vejam só: adoro cozinhar. Mas cozinha só tem objetivo e excelência quando o prato fica pronto e as pessoas podem saboreá-lo. Comida cozida o tempo inteiro passa do ponto, assim como a música.

Decepção total em ver que os produtores eslovenos são tão maria-vai-com-as-outras como outros pordutores, que não tiveram nem metade do sucesso deles e nem construíram algo tão específico como eles o fizeram. Que a massa reprodutora e consumidora daquilo que está aí faça igual a todo mundo, ok. Mas qual a necessidade de Valentino Kanzyani e Umek, por exemplo, se converterem a essa já nem tão nova e um pouco démodé religião?

Bem, talvez o problema seja eu, que esteja ficando velha demais para isso. A esperança está toda depositada no papai Ricardo Villalobos, então. Esse sim sabe o que fazer com plics e plocs.
