It's definitely nice to have Pharyngula back on tap. Some of the intermission posts by PZ's students have been interested. I would definitely like to see Danio writing things (possibly on his own site) on a more regular basis.

The break from PZ did allow me to appreciate some of scienceblogs other writers though - which was definitely a good thing.

For those of you under a rock PZ is the heavyweight of science blogging, capable of crashing polls and servers like no other man. Capable of stirring up controversies that can shake wikipedia and bring the Catholic League to its knees.

An art gallery in the UK is causing outrage amongst local Christians. The current display includes a plaster figure of Jesus - with a stiffy (pics thx to the sun)

Other culture icons like Mickey Mouse are included in the display. I think this is probably a little more distressing for kiddies than old JC. I mean JC was a thirty year old guy, presumeably he at least suffered from the occasional morning glory. Mickey is purely a children's entertainment icon, like Ken, he isn't even meant to have junk down there, let alone working plumbing.

The infamous British tabloid, The Sun, called local authorities this weekend after they were offered $90,000 for nearly 50 photographs of Prince William and on-off girlfriend Kate Middleton vacationing in Mustique last month.

Two men contact the paper stating that they found a memory card in a gutter that held curious photos of the couple. Apparently the card was the same that had been stolen from a random vehicle in London just hours before the call.

Lucky for Will and Kate, the Scotland Yard jumped on the case and made arrests for theft and handling stolen goods. According to the cops, the stolen goods were “a low value personal item.”

A cantora Amy Winehouse teve uma segunda overdose por conta de consumo de drogas. A informação foi publicada nesta segunda-feira, na edição on-line do tablóide inglês "The Sun".

Segundo o jornal, a cantora usou drogas por 36 horas seguidas e pode ter sofrido uma lesão cerebral. O pai da cantora declarou ontem à publicação que considera o futuro de sua filha "desolador".

Razon geniuna por la cual he decidido crear este "blog"...Les pido disculpas de ante mano por los horribles errores ortograficos que encontraran, ya que mi primera lengua es el Ingles, mi redaccion (materia que nunca pude pasar en APEC ) en Español es horrible.

Tratare de contarles mi verdad sobre mi experiencia en esta ciudad...la cotidionidad, sin sensacionalismos y sin alteraciones...sin amarillismos.

Lo cual me conduce al tema de hoy...que es La Prensa Britanica... la cual da noticias de una forma morbosa, haya o no razon de ser y no necesariamente trata temas polìticos, sino tambien de artistas, eventos sociales...ustedes saben a que me refiero...

La unica diferencia es...que aqui es casi una exageracion...les explico:

1. El periodico METRO-se entrega tempranito en las mañanas, en la calle y en las estaciones de tren; Gratis. Todo el mundo lo lee, hasta el que "no quiere" porque prefiere leer porquerias que pasarse el transcurso del viaje aburrido...

Cuando me levanto temprano, a veces compro el NY Times, lo leo primero ;-) x las 5horas de diferencia que hay entre Londres y NY...cuando aya amanece aqui ya es casi mediodia!

En la tarde, como a las 3pm, entregan el famoso London Lite, revista que trata de curiosidades, chismes...nada importante...

Tambien existen los que pues se "rehusan" a leer sobre la dieta de Britney Spears, el eterno descricaje de Amy Whinehouse, cuantas lineas de cocaina prefiere Kate Moss, o lo que trae puesto Lindsey Lohan...le compran su Peridico a Mohammad  sin chismes y pura informacion de negocios, economia, deportes etc!

Algunos periodicos son: Evening Standard, The London Times, The Sun , etc compiten a diario por el mayor numero de lectores...son capaces hasta de pagarle a alguien para hacer un montaje que genere noticias...la competencia es feroz!

Algunos peridicos hasta tienen "ofertas", por la compra del peridico de hoy regalan una sombrilla, que porsupuesto en Londres, una ciudad donde llueve interdiario, no cae nada mal!

Otros regalan, carteras...las revistas por ejemplo, siempre ofrecen maquillajes gratis...algunas son completamente gratis...su proposito es ser leidos como sea...

Dat moeten ook de 2 engelse heren Mark Hill en Alan Gunn gedacht hebben. Beide kalende en gescheide 40-ers besloten om zich bij een escort-bureau in te schrijven en hoopte zo een centje bij te verdienen.
Maar verwondering alom bij de heren toen bleek dat na 7 weken geen enkele vrouw met hun wou daten ! Nu eisen Mr Hill en Mr Gunn natuurlijk dat het escortbureau hun inschrijvingsgeld terug betaalt omdat zij hun job niet gedaan hebben.

Maar wat ook wel gezegd moet worden is dat het bij de heren niet om de sex draait , maar ze wouden gewoon een goede avond beleven ( en daarmee een klein centje verdienen )
Het escortbureau regeert hier dan ook op door te vertellen dat ze beide heren genoeg kansen en mogelijkheden heeft aangeboden , maar dat er blijkbaar veel dingen zijn die de heren niet willen doen...

There was an altercation already with the press when following a disguised Glitter to a grocery store. The Sun, for one, needs to let the law do its job. The guy is already on the Police's watch: aka the Sex Offender's Register.

Honestly, this programme is killing me, we're only two episodes in and a part of me has allready died inside.

The reason being is because i actually find myself enjoying the auditions. How can that be, surely the only people that enjoy the X-Factor are teenage girls and daily mail, express and sun readers.

Its the realization that whilst i view the mental contestants singing away my mind triggers to the fact that the above mentioned persons are watching the same programme. And lo and behold the odd time laughing at the same things they're probably laughing at.

I'm not being funny but as soon as the auditions are over i am not interested, it is only the utterly shit people i take pleasure in silently saying delusioned wanker to my self lots of times throughout the hour installment.

To be honest as soon as the 10 or however many people they select for the live shows are chosen. You know the top 3 are a forgon conclusion. You simply apply these filters

• Remove everyone over 25 perhaps 30 years old. (7 Remain)
• Remove everyone remotely unnatractive (5 Remain)

You are now left with, Good looking Boys who can sing and can't.

Good looking girls who can or can't sing.

Good looking groups who can can't sing.

• Now remove the girl who cannot sing ( 4 Acts Remain)

• Now remove the groups (3 possibly 2 acts remain)

You are now left with Lion (or whoever he was called) a male who can't really sing compared to the really good male or female singer, but somehow every girl in britain votes for as soon as the lines are open.

My sister is a perfect stereotype of this, coming out with incredible phrases like "He's really good actually" her fake expression only topped by me walking straight faced out of the room.

You see my sisters clever, she knows that the singer is bad, but her companions at school usher her into thinking the wrong.

She'll deny it.
