E não quero dizer no bom sentido.

Mas esqueçam o pasado, eles voltaram!
Não sei dizer se vão ter tanto sucesso quanto da ultima vez... mas professores e pais com certeza rezam para que não sejam. Os pais especialmente, já que lá nos Estados Unidos o brinquedinho provavelmente vai custar uns 50 dólares. Somando câmbio, taxas de importação e frete... por aqui pode chegar na casa dos 200 reais.

Para os que não se lembram, o Tamagotchi é basicamente um bichinho virtual de estimação.
Era preciso dar comida, brincar e dar muita atenção para que ele não ficasse triste, ou no pior dos casos, morresse.
E foi um sucesso estrondoso para o pessoal que vendia. E um problema catastrófico pros que tinham que comprar, e não conseguiam achar. Caso que levou a algumas crianças a conseguir o brinquedo de pessoas suspeitas e estranhas, e você sabe aonde essa história chega.
Professores também tiveram grandes problemas com crianças que brincavam com os Tamagotchis durante as aulas.

Mas de qualquer forma, veremos como será o sucesso da nova versão.
Já que hoje em dia temos celulares, portáteis, e vários outros gadgets pra disputar a atenção... talvez as crianças não se interessem tanto desta vez.
Mas eu aposto que vai ter muito sucesso novamente.

One of my first handheld electronic games was a Tamagotchi. You know, the plastic egg-shaped keychain with a 1"x1" screen that displayed a little blob that you could feed? And that was about it? Well, at 14, I _had_ to have one. (They didn't have them in the US when I was younger, okay?) That simple gizmo was so addictive. I carried it in my backpack and furtively fed it between classes. I experimented with it, repeatedly feeding it the reward cake to see how high its weight would go, then maniacally exercising it until it was catwalk-skinny. I take much better care of my virtual pets nowadays.

In fact, it was while playing with said Neopets a few months ago that I was wooed by Mattel's My Meebas. They sponsored a "Dandelion Wish Game" on the site, which was actually fun and aesthetically pleasing. You used the mouse to blow on dandelion fluff, sending it through a maze of jewel-toned vines in a search for My Meebas hiding in the trees above. You were rewarded with a fractally starburst when you found one, and if you were patient it was easy to win the maximum Neopoints you can win in a game. This very-stylish-for-a-product-placement game led me to hand over the $20 they wanted for the My Meeba.

I chose the Intelligence version, because the tube was purple and I liked the selection of Meebas that might pop out of it the best. The gameplay was a lot like the Tamagotchi. Your baby Meeba, represented by a few pixels, grows through 8 or so stages until it is so big that you can't see it all on the screen, implying that it is squished inside the tube and ready to emerge. That stage adds a little humor at the end of the game, and the blind box moment when your Meeba emerges is pretty satisfying. I got the pink leopard Meeba pictured above, and in the end, I wasn't upset that I had splurged on it.

My Meebas have more growth stages than Tamagotchis, but they do lack a mute capability (!). This is especially frustrating because one of the My Meebas' primary auditory cues is a blaring sound reminiscent of Homer Simpson's Everything's Okay Alarm. Nonetheless, the audio isn't all so horrific: My Meeba also cutely hums and blows bubbles in its underwater home. The main drawback is that once you've freed your Meeba from its tubey cage, the game is pretty much done. You do get a cool amoeba-esque weirdo to hang somewhere, though, and the whole concept of nurturing your digital pet until it comes to plushie life is really pretty innovative.

Quien no sepa a estas alturas que significa Tamagotchi, puede que pertenezca a otra dimensión o haya sido abducido durante décadas. Para aquellos que no os suene, os recordaré que los queridos Tamagotchis eran unos aparatos con forma de huevo y una pantalla de cristal líquido en los que vivía una mascota virtual. Mediante unos botones se podía jugar, alimentar, vacunar y limpiar nuestro bichito y no necesariamente por este orden.

Ahora Namco Bandai ha decidido sacar la versión moderna y portable de su mascota y la ha adaptado a nuestro móvil / celular. Aquí algunos detalles de dicha versión sacados de la nota de prensa:

Tamagotchi Angel

Los Tamagotchi Angel o Angelgotchi han vuelto a la ciudad y tienes la misión de que obtengan el poder suficiente para volver a su planeta. Protégele, cuídale mientras crece desde un bebé o Marutchi Angel, hasta su edad adulta. Ten cuidado, puede volverse malo y acabar como un Deviltchi. Para ello tendrás que premiar sus acciones positivas y cuidarle en todo momento.

Una de las características más curiosas de esta versión, que han pasado al teléfono móvil, es la posibilidad de ahuyentar a los murciélagos que pueden robar la comida a nuestro Angelgotchi mediante gritos o golpeando levemente el altavoz del terminal. Si el murciélago consigue su objetivo, el medidor de buen comportamiento de tu Angelgotchi se reducirá, así que tendrás que estar atento en sus comidas diarias.

El título mantiene todos los minijuegos y las funciones del juego original, pero esta vez en la plataforma móvil. Gracias a ello tendrás nuevas posibilidades como la de intercambiar las carcasas.

Desconozco el precio, pero debe ser el habitual para este tipo de juegos. En fin, que si quereis hacer un rememberita nostálgico de la mascota chillona (y cagona) que tanto dolor de cabeza causó a los padres de toda una generación, ahora viene para móvil.

Okej, jag har bara ett kultur minne innan millennieskiftet och det är låten ”big big girl” på lågstadiedisco. Det låten väcker vackra minnen med rökmaskin med doft, Läskiga spökhistorier och tamagotchis.

Jag har svårt att förstå mig på dem som skriker det här är en klassiker på fest, för att sedan tagga i gång totalt. Musiken är äldre en lyssnaren för mig går det inte riktigt ihop. Lyssnaren har aldrig hört låten när den var en hit utan har bara härmat ett beteende.

Ibland känns det som att dem äldre har haft en bättre möjlighet till en gladare vardag. Jag har levt i 18år utav besparingar, rektorn kan inte längre säga att alla kommer få en lyckad framtid efter studenten. Efter som det skulle vara en lögn, för dem som tar studenten får antingen jobba del tid eller flytta iväg för att kunna få jobb.

Det känns som att allt det roliga har redan hänt. Vi tittar sällan framemot och tror att det kommer bli bra, utan vi stirrar bakåt och ser det fina. Vi mins inte smärtan sorgen, utan bara det som var bra.

Vad kommer jag minnas utav tvåtusen talet, jag hoppas att det kommer bli något mer än Krig , Terrorism, Klimatförändringar. Kan man hoppas på att vi får ett eget woodstock? Troligen har det redan kommit det stora häftiga. Så kanske om tio år kommer jag vara den som står på dansgolvet och dansar till gamla godingar ifrån tvåtusen talet eller vi kanske har kommit in i en ny tid där inte tiden spelar roll längre, för det gamla trycks upp i nya format. Kanske kommer mina barn en gång i tiden ropa ut, lyssna pappa och spela en 80talslåt. Man jag känner ändå lite att historien inte riktigt varigt mig rättvis. Men det är möjligt att jag är en bakåtsträvare som inte vill se dem stora händelserna i min egen tid.

Now, in vivid color!  I doubt that this product will appeal to kids in the same way as when it was first introduced, but I'm amazed at the longevity of the Tamagotchi.

Quem não teve um Tamagotchi ou Bichinho Virtual quando era mais novo? Lembro-me que tive várias versões deste brinquedo. O meu primeiro tinha um formato oval e eu devia tomar conta de um dinossauro. Eu tinha que brincar com ele, alimentá-lo e limpá-lo; este foi um dos primeiros a ser lançado.

Mais pra frente, tive um menino virtual e um pato também, mas esses tinham mais funções. O menino, por exemplo, eu devia mandá-lo para escola e fazê-lo estudar, no final de sua vida ele poderia arranjar uma boa profissão, ser preso ou morrer; tudo dependia da “criação” que eu dava para ele.

Atualmente, alguns brinquedos são criados para cuidar da gente e não nós deles. Um exemplo é o Nabaztag, um coelhinho que tem diversas funções inúteis interessantes. O próprio fabricante do coelho o define como “...o seu mais novo melhor amigo. ... facilita a sua vida e a deixa muito mais divertida. Basta conectá-lo à internet por meio de uma rede Wi-Fi (sem fio) e descobrir todas as coisas que esse mascote inteligente é capaz de fazer. Email, música, notícias, despertador...”. No mínimo bizarro!

Então é isso, se você estiver precisando de um “novo melhor amigo”, é só comprar um Nabaztag. Vale lembrar que você pagará uma bagatela – de no mínimo – R$700 por essa nova amizade.

Lembra do Tamagotchi, aquele aparelho que, batizado no Brasil de 'bichinho virtual', virou febre entre as crianças no final dos anos 90? Ele está de volta. Isso mesmo, só que agora ele conta com uma telinha colorida.

A fabricante japonesa Bandai anunciou o lançamento da nova geração do aparelho, que custará 5 mil ienes - cerca de R$ 90. É a primeira vez que o 'bichinho virtual' terá tela colorida.

O tamagotchi ("tamaguchi"), febre nos anos 90, está em nova versão, design não muito diferente, mas desta vez o amiguinho para toda hora ganhou cor!

Não se tem o preço definido ,afinal, ainda não chegou por estas bandas, mas lá no Japão custará cerca de R$ 90.

Today, I don't want to think about the stumbling i-banks, the housing slump, the upcoming election, global warming, oil prices, George W. Bush, or even the latest episode of Project Runway. Instead, I'd like to bring myself back to a simpler time, when my main concerns revolved around deciding what to wear to school, and remembering to feed my Tamagotchi.

Ah, yes: elementary school in the early 90s.

Remember Lisa Frank, and those neon-pink folders with pictures of dancing unicorns and rainbows? Remember plastic lunch boxes, Five Star notebooks, and pencils with really big erasers? Remember Lunchables? (Looking back, eating those cracker-sandwiches and mini pizzas seems like it wasn't the healthiest choice). Remember Starter jackets, No Fear t-shirts, Adidas tear-away pants, and LA Gear light-up sneakers? Remember Umbros? Back in the day, most of the girls learned to read with Judy Blume (Are You There God, It's Me, Margaret). Most of the guys learned to read with Goosebumps. The most shocking thing today is that kids still read books back then. Of course, there was a lot to do in our free time as well: play Spit, collect Pogs, and go through the Mario Bros. game on Super Nintendo, if you were lucky.

At times, I have tried to relive my elementary school days. I throw on some old windpants, wear ostentatiously-colored outfits, and add in some extra flair (eg. a scrunchie) for my sideways ponytail. Recently, out of curiosity, I signed up for Neopets, the new-age upgrade for the Tamagotchi. While Neopets (a Nickeoldeon product) is meant to be for young kids, I signed on at 3 AM one morning and found 16,305 active users still online. Either there are a lot of international kids with Neopets, or... children need more attentive parents. Anyways, similar to the Tamagotchi, you need to keep your Neopet alive by playing games to buy food. Although I tried my best, I never quite mastered "Shenkuu the Warrior" and "Wal-Mart Santa". Perhaps it was old age showing through my carpal-tunneled fingers that kept me from beating Amanda, age 12, from Fort Lauderdale. And many of the other games that revolved around multiplication tables did not really pique my interest. My Neopet died within a week.

So, even though it's fun to reminisce about what it used to be like, the past must unfortunately stay in the past. After all, bringing Lisa Frank folders into the staff meeting would be somewhat awkward, even if your Trapper Keeper is immaculately organized.

4. tamagotchi - its really really cuute, and plus there's a website where i can play to get more gotchi points so i can buy that sailboat that costs 4500 gotchi points

5. my organizer - there's just so much stuff to do, assignments, classes (believe it or not, i haven't memorized my schedule yet), little things like returning library books, and stuff.

(Augmented reality - where people can see extra information via a viewing device on top of what they see in the real environment, but cant be seen by naked eye) as this idea would be hard to test will subjects an people.

• We have changed the idea to focus on using Wireless technologies such as wireless networks and Global Positioning systems (GPS), and Radio frequency technologies inside a physical, portable device where the information is accessed via its interface.

• We still would like to continue the idea of picking up other information via RFID tagging systems, that can be collected and view in public space.

• The possibilities for leaving message for people in parks, or creating an educational environment for children where information has been scattered throughout a park, and the children with a device may go and collect that information.

• A type of device that could be used with children may be a device similar to the "TAMAGOTCHI".

• If there device however it based for the use of children the idea of leaving information in wide open parks may be a dangerous idea, as parents or teachers taking kids on excursions may not be able to keep track of kids (unless the device also was able to be tracked with a similar device used by teachers)

• Maybe the device should be contained within educational places such as Museums, Aquariums, Exhibitions etc.
