Merge together SATC's Samantha, Charlotte, Carrie and Miranda and you get the typical modern city girl. The same thing happens with the Desperate Housewives but this time representing the archetype of a middle aged, middle class woman of suburbia. Bree the perfectionist;Susan the quirky crazy one; Lynette the business woman and; Gabi the sassy sexy ex-model. If you've been to Cobham, Surrey, you'll know what I mean.

Set in Wisteria Lane, it's always highlights what every community understands: no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Every series a strange new neighbour moves onto the cul-de-sac with some dark secret that unravels itself over the season. The end of series four is just finishing in the UK at the moment. Bree's most threatening rival (and close friend) Cathy is having a hard time from her violent ex-husband who is vehement to reconnect with his daughter. This is actually not as exciting as you'd think. And after watching a few series of these kind of cliffhangers, it is hard to muster up enthusiasm.

These days television is fast moving and although suspense is still important, most writers are focusing on detailed woven stories with optimal character development more than patronising their audience with silly plot questions over characters you don't really know or care about.

But Season 5's (started in US on 28 September) Desperate Housewives sees our four fave girls in five years time. New challenges, new politics and a new mysterious villain has moved in: Edie's husband.

Spoilt, shallow Gabi is now the mother of two overweight, hyperactive girls and still married to blind masseur, Carlos Solis. Bree is now Wisteria Lane's answer to Martha Stewart and is estranged from both her daughter and granddaughter. Lynette now has three strapping teenage boys all with bad boy tendencies to get in trouble with the law. And Susan....I will let you see for yourself.

Eso sería todo. Pese a estos pequeños detalles, el capítulo es excelente. Uno de esos clásicos que solo pueden ser opacados por horas y horas sexo.

This episode is a favourite so I wanted to write why. I told myself that the next post I write wont be about NCIS - I was wrong.

After the usual opening it has the team in a "sexual harrasment" class. The only person who is taking the class seriously is the lady leading the class. Abby is told that she is meant to ask for permission before hugging people because they might find it offensive, it's a funny scene because near the end Jimmy talks about touching dead naked people. Ziva also licks Tony. Throughtout the rest of the show there are ongoing references to the red and yellow light references. Some are funny, others sweet.

Abby and Tim are the reason this is a favourite. Abby nearly dies but Gibbs saves her by attacking the car. Tim was sitting there listening to audio so he couldn't hear her. Tim is told to figure out how they did it and so he does. You can tell that he is kicking himself because he cares so much about Abby.
"I did it Abby. I found out how they got in"
"How did you know I was here"
"I didn't"
"Abby I'm sorry for"
"I know"
then she puts her arms around him and he asks with a slight smerk
"i thought you were meant to ask for permission first?"
"never with you Tim"
and they smile and Tim puts his hand on Abbys
Both Abby nearly being killed by a car and the sweet part with Tim and Abby can be seen in NCIS S4E11 part 3.

Tony is finding it hard keeping his secret, expecially since Ziva is worried and so keeps asking questions. His other "mission" is causing him to lie to everyone that is close to him. It's sweet how Ziva cares so much about him. She thinks he is sick and Gibbs catches her researching Y. Pestis. Tony previously had it and she thinks that he may have it again. When Ziva says that she's asked Tony about going to the hospital and getting tests done but he wont tell her Gibbs says "he's probably got a pretty good reason".

The big shockers:

Dean is driving a pinto this episode.  I couldn't get over Dean in the pinto.  Every time he drove up in it, I had to chuckle.  I'd never have thought Dean would have been caught dead in a pinto.  It was a nice piece of humor in an otherwise serious episode.

Dean's mom, Mary (Amy Gumenick), was a hunter.  And John (Matt Cohen) didn't know.  She was raised by her hunter parents and she hated the life.  She wanted to leave it behind and marry John.

Dean and Sam are named after their maternal grandparents, Samuel (Mitch Pileggi) and Deanna (Allison Hossack).

Mary made a deal with the Azazel (old yellow eyes) to save John's life.  This family really has a knack for dealing with the demons in order to save each other's life.

More Questions:

Did Dean really go back in time or was it some sort of dream?  If he did go back, did he actually cause the events?  Or do we believe Castiel that destiny cannot be changed?

Did Dean really influence John's decision to get the Impala?  In the graphic novel, the acquisition of the impala is different?

What is Azazel's end game?  Does Lilith know?  What did the blood he dripped in the babies mouths do?  How did he know that all these people he was making deals with would have kids in 1983?  And isn't it a big coincidence that they did?

What did Azazel mean when he referenced the angels on Dean's shoulders?  Did he know that only angel could transport Dean back in time?  Or is there something different about Dean now?

What the heck is Sam doing sneaking off in the middle of the night with Ruby?  What is at 425 Waterman?  Doesn't he realize that he's playing with fire here?

And what does Castiel mean by "stop it or we will?"  Is Sam's life in danger?  How can Dean stop it if destiny can't be changed?

I'm can't wait until the next episode.  This show just keeps getting better.

This week Bones takes the investigation to the office.  But how prepared are an FBI agent and an anthropologist/writer to tackle the jungle known as office politics?

It seems that murder is just the tip of the iceberg for this office crew.  In their search for the office manager's murderer, Booth and Bones uncover drugs, vengeance, sex, blackmail and the office version of the black market.

I just hope when I die, it won't be as a result of office equipment!

But Booth is dealing with a bit of his own office politics - his quest for a dead man's chair - that involves fraud (Cam writes him a "doctor's note") and bribery (cupcakes for the lady in Human Resources).  But who knew that Brennan held the secret to his success?

And the Jeffersonian isn't without its own work drama.  The tension between Hodgins and Angela continues at least until Angela visits Sweets for some advice and fries.  Hey, in my book, good French fries heal all.

It's interesting that Sweets advice to Hodgins a few weeks ago was that he was dealing with it with anger and that was okay.  Hodgins was baffled and kept asking for more answers.  While tonight, Sweets tells Angela that she needs to analysis the situation more and wants to meet with her weekly.  Angela is pleased with their conversation, but fails to take his advice.

Angela and Hodgins are so different.  I always wondered how they became an item.  But they were good together, so writers please hurry up and make them a couple again!

And the highlight of the night was Mr. Cheerful.  Fisher is, as Brennan put it, the depressed intern that is quite clever.

The fill in of the week dramatized everything even the task to take 1,263 bone fragments, "each one screaming of pain, violence and hopelessness" and reassemble them to find the cause of death.

But the staff's reaction to Fisher was classic, especially Cam.  By the end of the show she was telling him to take Prozac.  When he said that he already did, she told him to double it because he was bringing her down!

Overall a nice fun episode (well expect for the whole murder thing).  I like the humor of this ensemble.  What did you think of the episode?

Rachel Bilson goes through routine airport seucrity and then prepares for departure at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday.

Bilson, 27, chatted briefly with some fans as she was going through airport security. She was also friendly with the airport security officer when asked for her passport.

The former O.C. star will soon be traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she is scheduled to begin filming Waiting for Forever.

The gang get card number 4 at the start of the show.  Though Mahone gets arrested which leads to a whole world of trouble.

Episode 6 brings a common episode of Prison Break, a filler type episode.  An episode in which the main story doesn't really go anywhere but instead it's paused for another story to happen.  In this case was Mahone in jail and the subsequent escape from his confines.  Though it's not to say I hated the episode, I actually enjoyed it and the main reason for this was because it focused on Alex.

Basically the start of the episode has the gang trying to acquire card number 4 at the racetrack.  This was a brilliant way to open up an episode.  They've now mastered the techniques of how to retrieve the information from a card and now they can do it with some ease.  So right at the start they acquire card 4 but this results in Alex being arrested.  This results in Michael deciding if they should get Mahone free or focus on getting card number 5.  They decide to break out Alex from the courthouse, in a wonderful scene in which Wyatt who found Alex at the police station, is there at the courthouse to kill him.

Gretchen who is battered and bruised seeks out her sister for help.  She gets herself cleaned up and arms herself ready to take out the company.  We find out that her sister's daughter is infact Gretchen's who gave her to her sister to raise.  For one scene who see some humanity from a woman who was a cold bitch throughout season 3.

T-Bag in the episode is still trying to figure out the meanings in the bird book but comes into trouble when one of his superiors tweaks that something is wrong so he flees, leaving hot receptionist girl behind, let's hope it's not the last we see of her.   Though while he's leaving his apartment, he comes face to face with Gretchen, I'm so looking forward to seeing these two together.  The rest of the episode didn't serve up too much else besides Self meeting Wyatt and becoming very nervous.

The problem with this episode, while it was entertaining, it just never had anything to say.  While it was good to have them get card 4 so early on, it wasn't so great that the rest of the episode was if they would help out Mahone.  Which if you are a devotee Prison Break fan, you would of course though that they would.

Los capítulos pilotos de las series nuevas y especialmente los “season premiers” me suelen parecer, en general, bastante sosos en comparación con el resto, pues suelen servir para presentar nuevos personajes, plantear la que será la trama sobre la que girará la temporada y poco más.

En ese sentido, los 4×01 y 4×02 de Prison Break han cumplido la mecánica de lo que suelen ser este tipo de episodios. Sorpresas pocas, por no decir ninguna, pues la muerte de Whistler era algo que algunos ya esperábamos.

Por lo demás, como capítulo de presentación me ha gustado. Reconozco que desde que supe que Michael se reencontraría con Sara, tenía cierto miedo de que la serie se acabase convirtiendo en un cutre-culebrón sentimentaloide centrado en la relación entre estos personajes, pero una vez visto los capítulos, me quedo más tranquilo.

De las pocas cosas que me han decepcionado de este, en mi opinión más que aceptable inicio de temporada, han sido las caras nuevas. Don, el agente del FBI me ha parecido el mejor de los tres, el que creo que más puede aportar a la serie. Por contra Roland Glenn, el hacker informático me ha resulatado un personaje insulso, sin mucho que contar, mientras que Wyatt, el agente de la Compañía que persigue a los hermanos, no es más que un nuevo Kellerman con algunas horas más de bronceado.

Otros de los detalles que han empañado un poco el estreno de temporada son, la lamentable explicación para que Sucre y Bellick estén fuera de Sona y la ausencia de un verdadero cliffhanger al final de “Breaking and entering” que nos dejase a todos contando los segundos hasta el capítulo del próximo Lunes. Por lo demás, nada que objetar.
