HA NOI — Ha Noi’s People’s Committee vice chairwoman Ngo Thi Thanh Hang yesterday urged Hanoians to organise events to promote the third Asian Indoor Games (AIG), which will be held in the capital in November next year.

Hang, who is also the head of the third AIG organisation board, also received the official flag and flame of the Games from Nguyen Danh Thai, standing deputy minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hang said it was an honour for Ha Noi to host such a big sporting event.

"After the success of the 22nd Southeast Games and the fourth ParaGames in 2003, Viet Nam won over the hearts of the Olympic Council of Asia’s leaders, who agreed to grant the country the right to host the third Asian Indoor Games," Hang said.

Some 5,000 athletes and trainers, and 800 referees, technical staff and sports officials from 45 countries and territories are expected to attend the nine-day event, which features sports that have not yet made it into the world arena.

The third AIG is to have 20 sports and 200 events, including petanque, shuttlecock, pencak silat and vovinam (Vietnamese martial art). Jujitsu and beltwrestling will be demonstration events.

The Co-ordination Committee has strongly recommended that indoor cycling, e-sports and extreme sports be included in the programme. Twelve events will be held in Ha Noi and six in HCM City.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism last October announced the official logo, mascot and song for the third AIG.

The logo will be a torch created by colourful petals. The lotus, with the petals joined together like twisted hands, will symbolise solidarity, friendship and co-operation.

The anthem for the Games will be Thap Sang Ngon Duoc Vi Hoa Binh (Let’s Light A Torch of Peace), written by young composers Duc Tan and An Hieu.
The AIG is a multi-sport event held every two years. The games are regulated by the OCA. The first games were held in 2005 in Bangkok, where Viet Nam finished in 21st place with one silver and one bronze medal. —

Fujitsu Siemens Computers z dumą wprowadza na rynek macierze dyskowe FibreCAT SX100. Jest to produkt należący do uznanej serii FibreCAT SX – dołączy do modeli FibreCAT SX60, SX80 oraz SX88.

W porównaniu do FibreCAT SX80 i SX88 zwiększona została pojemność dyskowa.

Dodatkowo oferuje funkcjonalność przydatną w przedsiębiorstwach – m.in. replikację (replication ready).

Sunday morning started out a very peaceful morning. We were in Cottonwood, Az and were going to just attend the church there, so we were not in a rush. Ah...to not be in a rush. Very nice. So I leisurely skated to the showers and came back to a delicious breakfast of bagels and orange juice! Little did I know, Don had an inspiration....he felt that if the pastor asked us to share something I should play "Come to Jesus" accompanied by Brianna dancing. My leisure was immediately kicked out the window. I grabbed my guitar and quickly ran through the song once before we had to leave, not feeling at all prepared.

We arrived at the church and upon seeing the facility, worship team and such I was fairly certain we would not be asked to do anything. However, to my great surprise Pastor Tim asked right off if we would like to contribute anything to the service. Don told him we had a song and dance to share. Ahhh!!! Feelings of almost relief turn into ones of panic. You know those ones you get the first time you have to give a speech in front of a crowd....Frantic, I ran to the van to retrieve my guitar. It was out of tune, and I was out of breath. A bad combination. I tuned quickly, put my guitar on stage, then sat down sipping some water.

They did worship, the pastor prayed for a few people, then he introduced us and invited us up. Needless to say, I was not prepared. I began. (The wrong key is something you never want to start in. Especially when on stage) I started in the wrong key! I was praying under my breath. Brianna was wondering what was going on. And I'm sure the pastor was thinking the same, and praying under his breath. Once I started singing, the song carried through fine. Brianna performed beautifully as usual.

That I can recall, I have never played the guitar in front of a crowd or congregation as poorly as I did that day. When the service was over, many people approached Brianna and I saying how much they loved the song and dance. I was still a little embarrassed...I get a daily scripture on my phone. After church the scripture I received was Ephesians 4:2 and it starts out saying "be completely humble and patient!" Ok God, not by my strength, but yours. God has given us gifts to use and bless people. We are to be ready in season and out of season. I encourage you to practice and develop the gifts God has given you, so, that when the time comes you can minister with confidence and power, remaining in humility.

Where possible, use ATMs with which you are most familiar. Alternatively, choose well-lit, well-placed ATMs where you feel comfortable.
Scan the whole ATM area before you approach it. Avoid using the ATM altogether if there are any suspicious-looking individuals around or if it looks too isolated or unsafe.
Avoid opening your purse, bag or wallet while in the queue for the ATM. Have your card ready in your hand before you approach the ATM.
Notice if anything looks unusual or suspicious about the ATM indicating it might have been altered. If the ATM appears to have any attachments to the card slot or key pad, do not use it. Check for unusual instructions on the display screen and for suspicious blank screens. If you suspect that the ATM has been interfered with, proceed to another ATM and inform the bank.
Avoid ATMs which have messages or signs fixed to them indicating that the screen directions have been changed, especially if the message is posted over the card reader. Banks and other ATM owners will not put up messages directing you to specific ATMs, nor would they direct you to use an ATM which has been altered.

(a poem for Chevaliers du Byzantin)

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things.
The decayed and degraded state
of moral and patriotic feeling
which thinks that nothing is worth war
is much worse.

The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight,
nothing which is more important than his own personal safety,
is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free
unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

~ John Stuart Mills

We war, don't we
We warriors
We worriers for the world

You, Red Death Warrior
You mobilized
You sanitized
Purified to perform ancient rights of battles
And to stake patriot claims of fragile freedom
In hearts alien, hearts eternal,
Hearts ignorant of all you know

You know
You know

You know, noble warrior,
While you wander through the heaven of Hell
Raking the shit scattered pieces
Of bitter and broken promises
Into neat, heaping piles made ready
For the devil's dusty full bin,
I, Warrior of The Forgotten Peace
Arming my chair of flaccid command
Long for the glory fight that I never had
The fight I will never know
The fight you will never forget

You know
You know

LOS ANGELES, September 24 (Compass Direct News) – An evangelist imprisoned since 2006 for his Christian activities is receiving especially harsh treatment because of his ministry to inmates.

Sources said Teame Weldegebriel is on the brink of despair as he languishes at the Mai Sirwa Maximum Security Confinement prison.

“It seems that hell has broken loose on me,” Weldegebriel told Compass sources. “Please tell the brethren to continue praying for me. I am not sure I will see them again.”

Prison authorities consider Weldegebriel dangerous because of his boldness in sharing his faith. The Rhema Church evangelist has been proclaiming Christ to other prisoners, and many have converted to Christianity.

“This has made him to be in bad books with the prison wardens,” one source said.

Weldegebriel’s family is worried about his health after trying repeatedly, without success, to get permission to visit him.

Inmates at the prison often go hungry and are said to be feeding on leaves.

In Eritrea, a nation with a government of Marxist roots where about half of the people are Muslim, two or more people gathered in Jesus’ name can be imprisoned for not practicing their faith in one of the government-sanctioned Orthodox, Catholic, Lutheran or Muslim bodies.

More than 2,000 Christians in Eritrea are imprisoned for their faith, including a Christian from a Full Gospel Church who was arrested in 2001. His wife last saw him in June 2007. She and her two minor children were rounded up from a prayer meeting in mid-July and placed in a metal shipping container until their release last month, she said.

“I was arrested with my children while having a prayer meeting with 20 other Christians,” said the woman, who requested anonymity for security reasons. “They locked us up at a military concentration camp, inside metal ship containers. I remember the horrible ordeal I went through with the children. After three weeks I was released with my two children, while the other Christian soldiers remained locked in the prison cells.”

The government views leaders of large unregistered bodies like the Full Gospel Church and Rhema Church as threats, according to Christian sources in the country. Eritrean officials fear the church leaders will expose the abuses and conditions in the prisons. Hence it is extremely difficult for relatives to see those in prison, and inmates are not allowed to send or receive letters.

“The government has been transferring them from one prison cell after another,” said one Christian source in Asmara.

In May 2002 the government criminalized all independent churches not operating under the umbrella of the Orthodox, Lutheran, Catholic, and Muslim religious structures.

Arrested for Talking

In the seaport city of Massawa, police in June arrested a man and a woman, both Christians, who were talking to Muslims about Christ. Members of Kale Hiwot Church, the two were discussing their Christian faith when four plainclothes policemen arrested them.

“It took about 30 minutes talking about Jesus before they were both arrested by the police – they had witnessed about Jesus and the faith for a long time to some Muslims,” another source told Compass. “I watched the two Christians whisked away by the police. They were taken to join more than 100 Christians imprisoned in Waire prison about 25 kilometers [16 miles] from Massawa.”

A previously imprisoned evangelist with the Full Gospel Church in Asmara who requested anonymity told Compass that God is at work in Eritrea, with many people converting to Christ and receiving divine healing.

“For sure Christians are getting imprisoned, but God’s word cannot be imprisoned,” he said. “I am ready for any eventuality, including being imprisoned again. On several occasions, prison wardens warned me to stop preaching, though they still loved me. Indeed Jesus loved me. They saw God in me.”

The U.S. Department of State notes in its 2008 International Religious Freedom Report that Eritrea has not implemented its 1997 constitution, which provides for religious freedom. The state department has designated Eritrea as a Country of Particular Concern, a list of the worst violators of religious freedom, since 2004.

Many of the more than 2,000 Christians under arrest in police stations, military camps and jails across Eritrea because of their religious beliefs have been incarcerated for years. No one has been charged officially or given access to judicial processes.

Reliable statistics are not available, but the state department estimates that 50 percent of the population is Sunni Muslim, 30 percent is Orthodox Christian, and 13 percent is Roman Catholic. Protestants and Seventh-day Adventists along with Jehovah’s Witnesses, Buddhists, Hindus, and Baha’is make up less than 5 percent of the population.

Report from Compass Direct News

First posts are always the hardest.
First things for a lot of things are hardest.
So I'll try to make this as painless as possible.
As possible, remember.

So, here I am, writing this.
Should I tell you what it's about? I guess I should. That's what a nice person would do, right?
I'd like to think that I'm a nice person, so here it goes.

My Own Little World.

Want one?
I do.

So, I'm making one.
No idea what I'm gonna call it, but I'm making it.

And HERE is where you shall find all the plans for it.
I don't have any major plans at the moment, which is okay in my mind, but they'll be coming soon.
Be ready for them.

I'm not gonna take over the world.
I'm not taking over a country.
I'm not taking over ANYTHING.
Simply, making my own, from nothing, into total awesomeness.
Understand?

That's all for now, just wanted to introduce things.

Yeah right. I don't believe it and even some Republicans don't buy it either. Sarah Palin clearly doesn't have a clue of the core doctrine behnd US foreign policy. Seriously, I was embarrassed for her - i'm just your average US citizen and I know the fundamental tenents of the Bush Doctrine. Chuck Hagel (R) clearly was embarrassed. Here a few highlights from the BBC article.

I think it's a stretch to, in any way, to say that she's got the experience to be president of the United States," Mr Hagel told the Omaha World-Herald newspaper. And he was dismissive of the fact that Mrs Palin, the governor of Alaska, has made few trips abroad."You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean, I don't know what you can say. You can't say anything."

Mr Hagel also criticised the McCain campaign for its suggestion that the proximity of Alaska to Russia gave Mrs Palin foreign policy experience. I think they ought to be just honest about it and stop the nonsense about, 'I look out my window and I see Russia and so therefore I know something about Russia'," he said.

My topic is the next big thing on Internet or in fact in IT!

We have been so advantaged by Web 2.0 technologies. It changed the way we communicate and allowed what we called social networking. Wikipedia, Flickr, Youtube, Myspace, and Ecademy are some well known examples of its manifestations.
As usual, we need more and better, of course!

As you may have heard so far, the next good thing is Web 3.0 a.k.a. Semantic Web. It is expected to make the Internet like a single giant database. Siloes of web will be transforming into a single entity. Doesn't that reminds us of something about spirituality? Oneness! Ocean of consciousness.

Now, what key features will Web 3.0 will bring:
Ubiquitous connectivity, open technologies, open identity, semantic application platforms, Statement-based datastores, Intelligent and embedded search utilities, Resource Description Framework are a few to mention. I will further discuss this in a new thread on my blogs in Ecademy. You are welcome to join and provide your insights. Any idea will bring us closer to Web 3.0 which we expect to be launched in 2010.

So I would like to know that
1. Are you personally ready to embrace Web 3.0?
2. What are the roadblocks that we may overcome with collaboration? What is essential to make it happen?
3. What do you expect the implications and impact of Web 3.0 to be on your business?
