Folks, I’m not the “brightest bulb” in God’s storehouse, but I have wondered for many years how so many of God’s people could make such a total mess out of “interpreting” these two verses? Do these two verses say, in both the Hebrew text and the KJV English, that this vision concerns “the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation” or do they not? Well…??

If that is what these two verses actually and literally say, then do they not also limit the 2,300 days to the amount of time that the daily sacrifice is being offered plus the amount of time after the daily sacrifice is stopped and the land is desolated by the transgression? Well…??

Is this correct or not? Come on, speak up! I’m just trying to learn too. While some of you are trying to figure out how to answer this, let me point out a few related facts.

The Reinstitution of the Daily Sacrifice

Folks, the daily sacrifice DOES NOT begin the day the Tribulation period begins. How do I know? Because the Jewish [Tribulation] Temple has to be rebuilt and the altar set in the courtyard of the Temple before any daily sacrifice can begin, Revelation 11:1-2. The rebuilding of the Jewish Temple will be supervised by God’s Two Witnesses, as explicitly stated and taught in Revelation 11:1-2, Matthew 17:11, and Malachi 4:5-6. I have a Bible study in print entitled “The Future Ministry of God’s Two Witnesses,” which gives book, chapter, and verse proving this statement, which I will be glad to email to any reader who requests it. There quite obviously is a period of time between the beginning of the Tribulation and the time when the daily sacrifices are reinstituted.

The question in Daniel 8:13-14 was not concerning when the Tribulation begins, but when the daily sacrifice starts. Hello! Is everyone listening?

The Length of the Tribulation

Folks, from Genesis clear through Revelation the coming Tribulation period is typified, taught, and can be directly calculated to be seven years of 360 days to the year. The last time I calculated that, it amounted to 2,520 days. That is the length of the whole Tribulation; 2,520 days.

The “Mighty Angel” [Messenger] in Revelation 10:1 – 11:1-2 explicitly told John that there would be two periods of time connected with the Tribulation Temple. The first period is set forth in Revelation 11:1 where John is told to “…measure the Temple [as an architect lays out a design] of God, and the altar…” for “them that worship therein.” So here is a period of time when the Jews are once again worshipping in their rebuilt Temple.

Then John was also told not to measure the court of the Temple, because “…it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.” Now here is a second period of time, the length of which is explicitly stated to be “forty two months.” The last time I calculated 42 months, it amounted to 3 ½ years or 1,260 days. This appears to be the last half of the Tribulation, which follows the Jews worshipping during part of the first half of the Tribulation.

Is there any further proof of this? I’m glad you asked…..

In Revelation 11:3 the “Mighty Angel” explicitly told John, “And I will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.” This is the first half of the Tribulation, during which these “two witnesses” will direct the rebuilding of the Tribulation Temple, dedicate it to the God of Israel, and join the Jews in worshipping in that Temple from the time the Jews start offering the daily sacrifices on the Temple altar again after the Temple has been rebuilt and dedicated. This is the same period of time spoken of in 11:1.

But carefully notice in Revelation 11:7 that when the time of the testimony of these “two witnesses” is finished, “the beast” will “overcome them, and kill them.” Whoa! Where in Revelation, and at what time, do we see this “beast” coming to power? That specific event is recorded in Revelation 13:1-5. It is explicitly stated in 13:5 that “…power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.” This is the last half of the Tribulation. We know this to be true because it is at the end of the Tribulation when the Lord returns that “…the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him…,” Revelation 19:20. Then it is quite obvious that the 42 months “the beast” continues is the last half of the Tribulation. This is in perfect harmony with Revelation 11:2 and Daniel 9:27. Hello! Are you listening?

So the “Mighty Angel” gave John instructions about two time periods in Revelation 11:1-2, and then demonstrated those two time periods in Revelation 11:3 and 13:5. Whoopee! Praise the Lord! Glory to God! Hallelujah! All you “post-tribulationists” [Preterists] chew on this for a while.

So When Do the Daily Sacrifices Begin?

Folks, if the Tribulation is 2,520 days in length, and it is! And the Jews start offering the daily sacrifices 2,300 days before the end of the Tribulation….. Then how much time is there between the beginning of the Tribulation and the time when the Jews start offering the daily sacrifices? D-u-u-h!?

Well folks, the last time I calculated, this means that there will be a 220 day period of time between the beginning of the Tribulation, and the reinstitution of the animal sacrifices on the Temple altar. It is during this 220 day period of time that the Jewish Tribulation Temple will be rebuilt and dedicated again to the God of Israel. Glory! Hallelujah!

Hey! Don’t get excited. I’m not really shouting yet. I’m just getting ready to raise the roof with praises to the Lord.

The 220 Days

Now folks, get out your calendar and start counting. From the last day of Tabernacles, October 20, 2008 until the eve of Pentecost, May 28, 2009, is exactly 220 days. What better time to reinstitute the daily sacrifices to the God of Israel than on the very day the “power” of God’s Holy Spirit was poured out upon the Lord’s church according to Acts 2, and the very day the “power” of God’s Holy Spirit will be poured out again upon Israel according to Joel 2:28-32? Glory!

Folks, the Lord is going to rapture His people to glory on the last day of Tabernacles, October 20, 2008. The Tribulation period is going to start the same day [didn’t I tell you the rapture would be a “cliffhanger”?], starting a 220 day count to the eve of Pentecost on May 28, 2009, at which time the Tribulation Temple will be dedicated and the daily sacrifices will begin. Glory!

With all the possible dates floating around for a 2008 Rapture I did some more feasibility studies.

The first day of Tabernacles is Tishrei 15, which is a full moon. As both Jacob & Doug pointed out; this day (October 14) has all the New Agers excited:

I did the research and it is absolutely amazing.

But back to the full moon. The moon represents the bride, who is but a reflection of the sun, our Lord Jesus Christ. It seems to me that the correspondence is inescapable regarding the fullness of the moon.

With Pastor Riley’s elucidation on the 1290 and 1335 Daniel days, which represents a new moon and full moon respectively I think the phase of the moon is relevant to the Rapture:

We don't like to wait on God. Not one little bit.

We bitch and moan that if God were truly loving (or if He really existed at all), He wouldn't make us wait for things like prosperity, peace, justice, love or anything else.

I've always put it down to a "me first" attitude of hypocrisy. That is, what I want is so clearly more important than what you want (or God wants), so God should be meeting my needs and wants first. It's all selfishness because, let's face it, if everyone got what they wanted, you'd have people with competing and frankly incompatible desires both getting what they want. That could be impossible in some cases, and damaging in many others.

But it never worried me much, this attitude of trying to rush God. To browbeat and beg and push for Him to give us what we want faster.

At least not until I started getting a better sense of churches, like one that Sarah Palin either still does, or recently did, attend. No, I'm not out to bash the great moosehunting savior of humanity with the naughty librarian look (Ooops, guess I did bash a little there); it's just that her associations with such folks have brought up a whole End Times Christian subculture to which I had previously pretty ignorant of.

These are people who seem to consider it their duty to push along events so that the End Times (the Rapture, Apocalypse, Armageddon, the Millennial Kingdom, and all that) will come sooner. They seem to think that whatever they do is OK as long as it makes the End Times come quicker.

This stuns me.

The sheer arrogance that they won't wait on God's timetable but instead see themselves as soldiers to move events along, is staggering.

Why would Christians want to have a hand in all the vileness that comes about with the End Times? Why would we want to have any culpability in that? Why would be want to have our hands in affairs that are supposed to be perpetuated by the enemies of God and Christ?

And furthermore, why the hell can't we just wait?

God clearly has things well in hand. He doesn't need our help. We have a duty already, and that is to spread the Gospel. Not to accelerate the timetable toward the end of the world. Frankly, to be working to speed up the path toward the End Times is actually counter to the Great Commission. We are supposed to reach as many people as we can with the good news of the Gospel so that more people can come to Jesus.

To make the End Times come faster means you would purposefully be working toward reducing the chances of people to be saved.

This is so against the Word of God that it's one of the few things I can truly say I think is outright heresy. These people are heretics. In fact, they may even be committing the one unforgivable sin, which is sinning against the Holy Spirit. Because what they are doing is seeking damnation for millions (really, billions) and they are telling God: "You aren't moving fast enough."

This is a kind of hubris I cannot even wrap my brain around.

God help these people. God help us, too, and preserve us from these people.

No Rapture - No Cry

Israel miraculously returns after 2000 years

Antichrist rises "behind the scenes"

Antichrist makes the 7-year "covenant of death" with Israel

Israel rebuilds temple during a time of false peace

Antichrist comes against God's Holy people

Antichrist sets up the Abomination of Desolation

Antichrist demands the world's worship (with help of false prophet)

Antichrist makes WAR against the Saints

Antichrist surrounds Jerusalem with his armies (on all the mountains of Israel)

Jesus sends fire from heaven to devour these armies

THE GREAT SIGNS OF THE DAY OF THE LORD! (Trumpet, Sun, Moon, Stars, Sky)

Jesus COMES BACK to defend Israel and redeem his Beloved Bride!

We meet Him in the AIR!!!!!

So if you find yourself still here when the Antichrist is demanding the world's worship and instating the Mark of Beast...DON'T CRY

The Prewrath Rapture of the Church and the Pre-Millennial Return of Christ (with synchronous seals and trumpets)

The Bible speaks of the Premillennial return of Jesus Christ. The Church will be redeemed from the Earth before God pours out his Wrath on the unbelieving Nations of the Earth. God's people will be persecuted for 1260 days (42 months / 3.5 years) leaving 75 days (1335 days minus 1260 days equals 75 days) for God to pour out his Wrath on the Nations.
There will be a small number of believers who are raptured before the great tribulation starts. These are the firstfruits of the harvest and are raptured pretribulation.
The Great Multitude are raptured before God pours out his wrath on the nations.
The seventh seal, the seventh trumpet and the seventh bowl all co-incide with with end of this age and the beginning of the millennium.
The bowls of God's Wrath are poured out after the church has been raptured which is between the sixth and the seventh seal and trumpet.
Christ's return is Pre-Millennial.
The Rapture of the Church (or the Harvest) is Pre-Wrath but not Pre-Tribulation.

The End Times: Err on the Side of Preparation

With all the crazy events going on in the world today, questions about the end times are popping up everywhere. The rapture seems have become a prolific topic in conversation, especially among students. A student from my youth group recently brought up a question about the end times. He asked which theory is more credible, pretribulational or post tribulational rapture. I would have loved to sit him down and explain every aspect of the book of Revalation so that all his worries would be assuaged. But lets face it, most of us that have read Revalation came out of it more confused than we went in. So I followed the prompting of the Holy Spirit and told him what I believed is the most relavant answer for those that are confused. I would encourage any students reading this to seriously consider the view about to be presented, as it is an effective way not to explain the end times, but to be as spiritually prepared as possible for them.

If I had to guess, most people presume that all Christians will be raptured before the period of tribulation begins. The reason I would guess this is because I myself thought that way for a very long time. This theory grew wiith the advent of the Left Behind series. It is called pretribulational rapture, literally rapture before tribulation. Let me be clear, there is absolutely nothing sinful about this view, in fact I pray desperately that this view is indeed correct. But, we cannot know for sure. Even the most theologically sound pastors admit that they struggle with theories on this issure.

What I would suggest to anyone struggling with this is to embrace a post tribulational rapture theory, rapture after the tribulation, and pray that you are wrong. But prepare to be right. Allow me to say it like this. If we prepare to suffer and endure the tribulation, and that is indeed what happens, then we are prepared for what is coming. After all, we know that "In this world, we will have struggles", John 16:33a. So we must prepare for them, resting in the peace that we can "take heart, for [Christ] has overcome the world" John16:33b. To me, it just doesnt make sense that Christians from ages past would endure such unbelievable suffering, yet those that make it to the tribulation would be pulled out of harm's way. So I believe we should prepare for the worst in case it should came, for then we will be ready. If we prepare to be raptured before the tribulation, we are giving ourselves an excuse to become lukewarm. How easy it is to think, "everything will be ok, I will be gone when that happens." But what if we aren't gone, and we have been believing we wont be here when things get bad. Then we are unprepared and it will be much harder. If we are prepared and the rapture comes before, then wonderful, we can rejoice that we were wrong. But I believe we don't have the luxury of relying on a pretribulational rapture when we don't know for sure if it will occur.

Within the church of Thessalonica there must have been some who were concerned about their loved ones who had died recently, and before the return of Jesus Christ. They were wondering what would happen to them, and where do they fit in with the coming of the Lord for His people. They were experiencing persecution and wondering why; believing the Lord would come before this happened, and would deliver them.

The apostle Paul in the next six verses gives words of assurance concerning those who die in Christ and assurance for all who are in Christ. Today we look at verse 13:

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope." 1 Thessalonians 4:13 (KJV)

Thus far Paul has referred to the return of Christ at least three times in this short letter. In chapter one Paul writes, "And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come." (v. 10). In chapter two the apostle writes, "For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?" (v. 19). Chapter three ends, "To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints." (v. 13). In the Thessalonian letters no one can truthfully get around the fact that Paul teaches that Jesus Christ is coming again, with the saints, and that is all those who have trusted Jesus Christ, and His finished work of Calvary's cross.

This verse begins an assurance of not just the second coming of Jesus, but also His coming in the clouds for those who are dead and alive in Him.

If we die before the Lord returns for His Church what happens to us? First of all the apostle writes that he does not want us to be ignorant concerning this matter of the dead in Christ, or "...them which are asleep". When Lazarus was dead Jesus referred to him as being asleep (John 11:11). And only referring to the body. There are those who teach that upon the death of this body that the soul sleeps, that there is no awareness, or knowledge until Jesus comes and awakens that soul. It would seem that there are various Scriptures which would show that to be fallacy. In the story of the rich man and the poor man Lazarus, it show the clear evidence of an awareness in hell following the death of the body (Luke 16:19-31). Paul writes "Absent from the body present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8). There is much evidence in the Bible of consciousness after the death of the body. Evidently ignorance prevails in those who refuse to believe it, but it is none the less true.

The hope of the Christian is to see Jesus Christ in all His glory. That will occur when we see Him face to face, and He comes to deliver us from the wrath that is to come on this world in days that are yet to come. That deliverance will be the topic of study in the verses which follow. In the mean time we need not worry about those who have died before He comes, or be concerned about our death before He comes. We need not sorrow as those who have no hope of eternity. We have the promise of resurrection with the Lord Jesus Christ.
