At the moment I am sitting at the computer in a small rural maternity unit doing night shift cover. I thought I might try to read others posts and see how I think I might be able to move my own project forward. Although I have not been posting here things have been moving along fairly rapidly in the midwifery school towards our new program next year. I have a couple of projects I need to be working on, but I am not at all sure I can use these for the purpose of this DFLP course. The time frame for development of these projects is too short to complete the rquirments of this course. One problem is that I will be very busy working on these and meeting my other work commitments, diverting my thinking into another area for the DFLP course would be very hard however if I do not complete the DFLP course I will lose my professional development funding for next year. What a dilemma!! :(  Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed the work I have done on this course and the learning I have achieved through this, I want to complete but just feeling very directionless with this at the moment. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

- Şimdi artık ilk albümünüz "O gece" ile müzik marketlerdeki yerinizi aldınız.. Bugüne kadar yaptıklarınız gibi içi dolu bir albüme imza atmışsınız.. Derler ya beklendiğine değmiş.. Prodüktör Febyo Taşel.. Aranjör de yine keza öyle.. Albümden bahsetmişken söylemeden geçemeyeceğimiz büyük üstad Aysel Gürel de bir sözüyle prodüksiyonda yerini almış.. Bu kadar doğru bir albüm için beklenmiş olmalı bu kadar zaman...

Evet, bekleme süreci belki çok uzun oldu ama değdi diyebilirim. Geçen son 10 yılın özeti de denilebilir bu album için. 17 yıllık sahne hayatının son 10 yılında aklımda olan album projesini gerçekleştirmek için doğru zamandı belki de. Febyo Taşel ile birlikte çıktığımız müzik yolculuğunda hala beraberiz, dolayısı ile bu album aslında ikimizin ortak hayaliydi demek yanlış olmaz. Aysel Gürel, Nino Varon, Günay Çoban, Herman Hallaçoğlu gibi üretici insanlarında bu albumda olması müthiş bir gurur kaynağı elbette.

- Müzik sektörü özellikle son yıllarda bir çok sorunla karşı karşıya kalıyor.. Albüm satışlarının düşmesi,müzik kanallarının sanatçılara koyduğu kısmi ambargolar, adil olmadığı iddia edilen ödül törenleri... Bir çok anlamda sanatçılarının haklarının yendiği konuşuluyor.. Bütün bu etkenlere rağmen albüm çıkarmak cesaret istemiyor mu sizce?

Çok doğru. Album çıkarmak cesaretten öte prodüktörler için de büyük külfet. Dönüşü şüpheli bir yatırım yapıyorsunuz haliyle, her ne kadar sanatçı dört dörtlük de olsa günümüz şartlarında,(sorunuzda bahsettiğiniz etkenlerden dolayı) satış rakamları maalesef ki arzu edilen boyutta olmuyor.70 milyon luk ülkemizde 20 bin adet satan albüme "başarılı" gözüyle bakılmaya başlandı ki müthiş bir utanç abidesidir bu durum. İnternet alemi, radyolar, televizyon sayesinde müthiş bir ivmeyle hızlandı şarkıların tüketimi. Hemen eskiyorlar, sanatçılar nerdeyse senede bir album yapmak durumunda kalıyor. Ödül törenlerinin ise konuşulacak hiç bir tarafı yok. Neresinden tutsanız elinizde kalıyor. En çok da insanların cep telefonlarının sömürülmesine üzülüyorum, bir bilseler ki ne kadar sms atsalar da sonuç AYNI...

Para harcayıp video klip çekiyorsunuz, müzik kanalları keyfi şekilde yayınlıyor veya yayınlamıyor. Radyolar keza öyle, reklamdan geçilmeyen radyo kanalları, üstüne üstlük sanatsal hiçbir değeri olmayan ve sadece "hareketli" olduğu için çalınan şarkılardan geçilmiyor. Klibi çekmek de yetmiyor bunu yayınlatabilmek için bir de para ödüyorsunuz kanallara. Dünyanın hiç bir yerinde sanatçının yayın organına para ödediği görülmemiştir, sanatçı üretendir, yapılan her yayından payına düşeni alır. Kural budur. Ülkemizin adeta kanayan yarası yıllardır çözülememiştir ve bu gidişle de çözülmesi imkansızdır. Bir de bunların üstüne olabildigince kalitesiz, seviyesiz, argo dolu, edebiyattan kültürden nasibini almamış, cinsel ögelerden geçilmeyen, armonik olarak fakir şarkılar üretilip piyasaya sürüldükçe iyi bir şeyler yapmaya çalışanlar bu hengamede kaybolup gitmektedirler. Bu durumun da en büyük suçlusu bu ve bu gibi yapımlara imza atan, piyasaya süren, bu tarz yapımları "HALKINA LAYIK GÖREN" prodüktörler/yapımcılardır. Sadece PARA kazanmak amaçlı yıllarca müziğe ihanet etmeleri bir yana görsel ve yazılı basını da satın almaktadırlar. Büyük Atatürk'ün de dediği gibi sanatçılar halkın kültür seviyesini yükseltmekle mükelleftirler! Düşürmekle değil. Türkçelerini bozmakla değil, argo ögreterek değil...

- Albümün sürprizi isi Tanu Okan'ın klasikleşen şarkılarından "Hasret"... Koyu bir Tanju Okan dinleyicisi misiniz.. Bu şarkının albüme dahil oluş sürecinden bahsedebilir miyiz?

Koyu bir hayranıyım. Nasıl olunmaz ki? O bir fenomen. Türkiye'de eşi benzeri olmayan bir ses ve üsluba sahip. Sevgili basın danışmanımın repertuar sürecinde iyi söylediğime inanarak tavsiye etmesi üzerine, yıllardır sahnede okudugum "Hasret"i de repertuara almaya karar verdik.

- Albümün sürprizlerinden birisi de Vokaliz grubu ile yapmış oldğunuz düet.. Nasıl bir araya geldiniz Vokaliz'le..?

"Kal" isimli şarkıyı bestelerken formundan dolayı müthiş bir vokal kompozisyonu olması gerektiğine inandığım bu parça için Türkiye'nin tek ve en iyi acapella grubu olan Vokaliz'le görüştük ve şarkımızı onlara gönderdik, Çok beğendiler ve hemen kendilerince bir partisyon yazıp saatlerce studyo da kaydettiler. Şarkının tarzı da hafif funk oldugu için bu tarz bir çalışmayı kaldırıyordu.

- Bir diğer düete de Funda Arar'la imza atmışsınız.. Albümün en dikkat çeken şarkılarından birisi de zaten söz konusu düetin şarkısı "Akşamüstü"

Evet. Yaklaşık 5 yıl önce Antonis Vardis'e ait (orjinali de düet olan) Yunanca bu esere Türkçe sözler yazmıştım. Bir kadın ve bir erkeğin münakaşasını anlatan bu şarkı çok keyifli oldu. Baştan beri aklımda düet için sevgili dostum Funda Arar vardı. Bir başkası zaten olamazdı. Türkiye'de ender duyulabilecek bir ses ve yoruma sahip olan Funda Arar'ın albüme katkısı benim için bir başka gurur vesilesidir.

- Müzisyenlerin albüm dışında yöneldiği projelerin başında artık dizi-film müzikleri geliyor.. Kıraç, Gökhan Kırdar gibi isimler bu alanda başı çeken isimler.. Saro'nun böyle çalışmaları var mı ya da olacak mı?

Şu an için böyle bir plan veya düşüncem yok. Daha önce de olmadı. Ben herşeyden önce ses sanatçısıyım, söz yazarı ve besteciyim, yazdığım veya söylediğim herhangi bir şarkı bir filmde kullanılırsa ne ala ama bunun dışında ısmarlama olarak film müziği ile ilgilenmeyi düşünmüyorum. Motivasyonumu tamamen üretim ve sahne performansına kanalize etmiş durumdayım ve böyle çok daha huzurluyum sanırım.

- Peki, Saro için bestecilik yönü mü solistlik yönü mü ön planda..? O gece ile solist yönünüz ortaya çıktı belki ama üretim süreci mi sizi daha çok heyecanlandırıyor yoksa şarkıcılık, yorumculuk mu?

Aslına bakılırsa her ikiside güzel elbette. Sahne bir başka tabi, hemen tepki alıyosunuz ve bu size olağanüstü bir keyif veriyor, gözünüzde ne para ne de başka bir dünyevi sevk. Bunun tadın herşeyin üstünde. Evde şarkı yazarken de farklı bir duyguda oluyorum, onun verdiği haz bambaşka. Ön planda olan ve olmasını istediğim şey ise Saro'nun ağırlıkta kendi şarkılarını icra eden bir erkek vokal olması.

- İnternet sanatçıların kendini istediği gibi ifade edebileceği en rahat platformardan birisi şüphesiz.. Sizin internet dünyası ilginiz nasıl.. Dinleyicilerinizle buluştuğunuz konuştuğunuz bir adres var mı?

Who's got time to develop a business plan?!? 

If you’re like most entrepreneurs, you can certainly support the idea…but, when push comes to shove, you’re focusing on the day-to-day activities more than planning where your business should be going.

Voici d'abord une vue du logiciel Google Earth, qui montre la courbe inhabituelle du chemin Keenan, ainsi qu'une partie dégagée, au nord-est de l'A-55.  Je n'ai pas pu prendre de photo, compte tenu de la distance requise pour avoir une vue d'ensemble, ainsi que de l'heure tardive, mais un court corridor est effectivement dégagé (lire dynamité), et les arbres qui s'y trouvent sont moins nombreux, et beaucoup plus jeunes que ceux situés de chaque côté du corridor.

C'est difficile à voir, de cet angle, mais la ligne blanche, qui délimite l'accotement de l'A-55, en direction sud, tourne légèrement vers la gauche, alors que le parapet du pont, et le garde-fou métallique, continuent en ligne droite.

Ici, on voit mieux l'accotement plus large, et l'asphalte, étendu de façon à donner naissance à une bretelle vers la droite, puis qui reprend la largeur d'un accotement normal.  C'est probablement à cet endroit qu'aurait été installé le panneau indiquant la fin de l'A-51.

Sur cette vue, prise en direction nord, on peut remarquer que le pont de la nouvelle chaussée est beaucoup plus court que celui de la première chaussée.  Je sais, il pleuvait, et on voit mal.  Attendez un peu.

Il s'agit de la même photo, mais sur celle-ci, j'ai fait des marques qui montrent la longueur des deux viaducs.  C'est beaucoup plus évident, n'est-ce pas?  Maintenant, allons voir cela d'en-dessous.

Voici, vu d'en-bas, le nouveau viaduc, qui a les dimensions d'une passe à chevreuils,...

...alors que le viaduc original est suffisamment large pour laisser passer beaucoup, beaucoup de chevreuils.  En fait, il a toute la largeur nécessaire pour faire un superbe échangeur.

J'ai remonté le sentier, à l'ouest de l'autoroute, pour tenter de prendre une pose des deux ponts.  C'est partiellement réussi; on voit l'empierrement du nouveau viaduc, par dessous l'ancien.  Encore chanceux, la photo n'est pas trop brouillée; je me faisais littéralement dévorer par les moustiques, à ce moment-là.

À voir les nombreuses pistes, sous l'ancien viaduc, c'est certain qu'il y passe des chevreuils, entre autres animaux.  C'est aussi à cet endroit que j'ai vécu le second épisode de la série "J'avais de belles chaussures".  Je vous garantis que je vais m'acheter des "bottes à vaches" dans un proche avenir.

Je suis sous l'ancien viaduc (en fait, je devrais plutôt dire le viaduc de la première chaussée, puisque les deux sont toujours fonctionnels), et j'ai pris cette photo, puis les deux suivantes, pour illustrer, "d'un angle différent", comme le disait si bien Gilles Tremblay, lors des belles années de la Soirée du hockey, à Radio-Canada, la différence de longueur des deux viaducs.  Je suis près du pilier sud de ce viaduc,...

...je me tourne d'une trentaine de degrés vers la droite, pour prendre le terrassement de la nouvelle chaussée, sur laquelle passe des véhicules,...

...puis à nouveau d'une trentaine de degrés, pour enfin prendre l'extrémité nord du viaduc de la nouvelle chaussée.

C'est la même vue qu'au début du billet, toujours signée Google Earth, mais cette fois, j'y ai ajouté la disposition des lieux si l'A-55 avait été construite selon les plans originaux.  En bleu, c'est le chemin Keenan actuel, avec sa courbe.  En rouge, c'est l'A-55 actuelle, et en blanc, l'A-55 selon ce qu'elle aurait dû être.  L'A-51 aurait alors été la partie en orange, située au nord-ouest de l'échangeur.  Malheureusement, même si les municipalités, situées le long du tracé original de l'A-55, en demandaient vigoureusement la construction, ça ne passerait pas comme une lettre à la poste,...

...parce que la Société de conservation du corridor naturel de la rivière au Saumon (SCCNRS) a décrété que tout le territoire situé entre le chemin Keenan et la rivière Saint-François, y compris l'espace sous les viaducs, était désormais une aire naturelle, protégée et gérée pour la conservation.  Même le sentier cyclable y est fermé!  Vous imaginez la guerre, qui se tiendrait en ces lieux, si l'on tentait de ressusciter le projet de l'A-55?

La question que je me pose, c'est qu'une fois que les chevreuils sont passés sous l'A-55, ils vont où?  Ils sont encerclés par le chemin Keenan.  Je présume qu'ils doivent le traverser, et que c'est beaucoup moins grave que s'ils traversaient l'autoroute, parce que ce chemin est somme toute peu utilisé.  Il n'en demeure pas moins que ma curiosité est allumée, maintenant.  Je devrai faire des recherches, auprès des municipalités de la région, afin de savoir si d'autres travaux ont été faits, en vue de construire l'A-55, entre Melbourne et Saint-Albert-de-Warwick.  Je pense particulièrement au boulevard du Conseil, à Asbestos, dont l'extrémité sud pointe presque directement les viaducs que vous venez de voir.

Je sens que je vais déterrer quelques squelettes, avec cette affaire...

Since that post, my office was broken into and my computer was stolen which is part of the reason the posts have been on a hiatus.  The other main factor was that I wasn't having much success in my weight loss goals.  I was working out more than ever and wasn't seeing the results on the scale.  I needed to reformulate my plan.  I have recently found success in the last two weeks via the help of a gadget that I'm not even using and the program that comes along with it.  I will give you more details on my next post.

Le ministre de l'Energie et de l'eau, Alain Tabourian, a révélé à elnashra.com que le ministère de l’énergie et de l’eau fixe le prix des produits pétroliers suivant une formule basée sur les prix des carburants à partir de 3 ou 4 semaines.

Tabourian  a affirmé que la réduction des prix des carburants sur le plan international aura son impact sur le Liban.

Il a indique qu’il existe des problèmes majeurs au niveau de l’électricité :

- La subvention de l’état dans ce secteur dépasse ses capacités financières

- Les centrales électriques sont vétustes et tombent souvent en panne.

- Leur capacité de production ne dépasse pas les 1500 Mégawatts tandis que le Liban a  besoin  de 2000 Mws.

-Le gouvernement perd beaucoup d’argent en subventionnant le fioul utilisé dans les stations vieillissantes du pays.

Tabourian a révélé que le ministère de l'énergie et de l'eau élabore des plans à court et long terme pour améliorer la capacité de production des centrales électriques.
Le problème de l'électricité perdure depuis 5 ans selon le ministre, car les reponsables n'ont pas pris de décisions adéquates au moment opportun.

Today is a good example.  When you least expect it God shows you that He is paying attention to your life.  As I struggle to become the person I believe I was designed to be I am often unsure of the path.  But then something like this morning happens and I am reminded God is with me, leading me in right paths.  As I got up and prepared for my day I read the scriptures for today's Mass and this is what I found:

The word of the LORD came to me thus:  (Jeremiah 1:4-10)

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I dedicated you,
a prophet to the nations I appointed you.
“Ah, Lord GOD!” I said,
(I know not how to speak; I am too young.”

But the LORD answered me,
Say not, “I am too young.”
To whomever I send you, you shall go;
whatever I command you, you shall speak.
Have no fear before them,
because I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.

Then the LORD extended his hand and touched my mouth, saying,

See, I place my words in your mouth!
This day I set you
over nations and over kingdoms,
To root up and to tear down,
to destroy and to demolish,
to build and to plant.

What can I say?  God was not just talking to Jeremiah thousands of years ago.  Read the passage again but this time image God is speaking to you, personally.  Go ahead, read it and keep reading it until you can hear the Word that is meant for you.  I'll wait.

We are each called and commission to receive and be loved by God.  We are each called and commissioned to change this world.  We have to stop waiting for someone else to do it.  Politicians are too busy manipulating the system to achieve power.  People in authority often don't ground themselves in what is good and true.  It is up to us -- you and me to be people of God who seek the truth and the light.  And once we find it to do something about it. 

And as the scripture says:  Say not, “I am too young.” or too old; or too fat; or too shy; or too black, white, pink.... these are all excuses.  God has chosen you; God has chosen me to make a difference in our worlds.  You see, if you and I and everyone who says they believe in the teachings of Christ work just to make their little slice of the world better -- what a tremendous thing that would be.

Just today, find ways to be a light unto your world -- in your home, in your school, in your work place, on the streets, in the stores and mostly, in your heart.  Begin where you see opportunity and don't stop.  And if you grow tired or discouraged then listen to God's Word and let it inspire you to try again.  Don't stop trying.  Sin is not in failing but in failing to try.  I remain, your servant in Christ,

I am still at 195 but that's ok.  I feel great! 

I know I need to kick my workouts up a notch.  As I do that I know I have to make sure I take good care of myself while doing this and you should too!  Here are some summer exercising tips you should keep in mind:

Planning Your Summer Workouts

If you’re exercising outdoors through the summer, remember to take extra precautions: Plan your workouts for early morning or late evening to avoid the heat of the day and enjoy a few extra glasses of refreshing water to stay hydrated.

In fact, consider breaking your workout into two or more sessions to avoid becoming overheated. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, but especially during your workout. And don’t forget the sunscreen!

Recognizing Heat Exhaustion

Watch for symptoms of heat exhaustion - dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, or headache. If you feel ill, don’t try to push through your workout; cut it short and head inside. Also, keep this advice in mind for your children as well, who may be inclined to play vigorously outdoors all day long.
