If you liked reading about day one of The Bamboozle, then you’ll definitely love this one even more!

During day two, I went through more adventures, and met a bunch more really cool people!

I lost my schedule for that day, but I will try to remember the order that things happened in.

First, we started out by seeing “All Time Low” and “The Academy Is…” I love both of their music! They each sang a ton of songs that I knew and totally rocked the stage. Again, we got to stand up there with them, which was really fun. I had to leave All Time Low a tiny bit early because right when they ended, The Academy Is was to start at a different stage and there was quite the walk to get to it. When we made it to The Academy Is, we were just in time to hear them play their awesome set. We had some extra time after their set, so we walked up to them and told them that they did a great job and grabbed a few pictures with different band members.

After this, it was time to go see the band Cobra Starship! I was SO excited for this because I am in love with their music and they’re just all around really awesome. :) I also had a feeling that Travis from Gym Class Heroes would be joining them on stage because they sing some songs together and Gym Class Heroes were scheduled to play later that day. When I got up on the stage, I peeked over and saw the entire set list. I was so excited when I saw so many songs that I knew! When they came on stage, my friend and I were right up front. They were awesome, and about 1/3 through the set, my friend and I spotted a man in a blue hoodie across standing where we were but on the opposite site of the stage. It was Travis from Gym Class Heroes! We were freaking out: One, because Travis Mccoy was right there! And two, because this pretty much guaranteed a duet! Soon enough, Travis came up stage and sang a song with them! It was awesome! They perform so well together. After it ended, we spotted Gabe Saporta, the lead singer of Cobra Starship, standing in a tented area backstage. We walked over when a couple girls were talking to him. One of them was crying hysterically, saying how she loves them and has always wanted to meet him. He was being so nice to her and hugging her and gave her a kiss on the cheek and everything! I was shocked! Who knew that rock stars could be so friendly to their fans! After they walked away, we went up to him and told him how awesome they played their set. He was also really friendly to us! In fact, later, when we were in this VIP lunch area eating, we were at a lunch table next to him when he was being interviewed. He was on video camera and the lady asked him to show off his outfit. He pointed to his shoes and described them, and then looks over at us and points to my friend and was like, “Look at her outfit! How sweet is that! She’s wearing purple jeans and a silver headband.” We DIED! Unfortunately, we have yet to find this video, even after looking everywhere for it! But if I find it, I’ll definitely post it!

Moving on, the next band that we saw that day was We the Kings. You’d probably know them from their popular song “Check Yes Juliet”. They played Bamboozle a little before that song became popular, but I knew them from somewhere else luckily so I was able to see them play. They played on a pretty small stage, so it was packed with people in the back. My friend and I had to squeeze our way up, and before we knew it, we were practically standing right next to the guitarist! Pretty intimidating! Haha. They played really great, as expected. They were running around the stage and flipping their excessively long hair all over the place!

Wow, this blog post is insanely long, I’m sorry. If you’re still reading, go get a snack. It’s about halfway over.

We walked into the area where many of the tour buses were parked, just to explore a little since we had time to hang out until our next show. Back there, we saw Gabe from Cobra Starship again many times just hanging out by his van, which was really cool. We discovered which buses belonged to which bands and everything. After getting bored of this, we went down into Giants Stadium. We knew that this was where the big headliner band’s dressing rooms were located but only people with passes could go back there. As we were going in, we also saw Travis from Gym Class Heroes walking down there. I wouldn’t say we followed him. Well, I guess we did a little. :) Anyway, we ended up finding out that he had a special meet and greet for about ten people who were there. We waited for them to finish and then went up to him to talk to him. He was really cool and chill and very, very funny. He was dancing around with us and singing about our outfits and everything. He even gave us these cool bags from his dressing room with CDs inside just to be nice! We then got pictures with him and he went back into his dressing room.

*Side note, Katy Perry was there the entire time but this was before she was popular and so we had no idea! We just knew it was his girlfriend, who turns out IS Katy Perry! Bummer :(

We spotted a golf cart drive by, and looked at the back and it was Brendon Urie from Panic! At the Disco! My friend screamed “I LOVE YOU BRENDON!” and he goes, “I LOVE YOU TOO!” haha! It was really cool because we both love that band!!

The next singer to come on stage was Bret Michaels. He is in the band Poison and on the TV show “Rock of Love”. I don’t know any of his music, but the people backstage were causing a huge commotion when he was coming out, so it was clear that he was a big deal! We all had to clear a path for him so that he could run right up onto the stage! The crowd up on stage was really packed, so we only stayed up there for about half of the show. He really knew how to work the crowd. He’s a great performer! When he got off stage, so many people backstage were trying to take pictures with him but security was really tight and they we shielding him from most people. The coolest thing happened though. Me, my friend, and my dad were able to go privately onto his tour bus with him! I’ve never been on a tour bus, especially with a celebrity! It was so surreal and awesome. He seemed really nice and down to earth. He offered us drinks and asked us questions and let us take pictures. There was a reporter there from the New York Times, and so a couple weeks later, we were featured in the New York Times with Bret!

Here’s the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/18/fashion/18nite.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss

(You might only be able to see it if you have an account on that website.)

That was definitely one of the coolest experiences I’ve been able to have!

Gym Class Heroes were next, and we were super excited since we had all those cool encounters with Travis earlier in the day! We got in line to go up the stairs to go up on stage pretty early so that we could get decent spots. We ended up getting pretty good spots, in fact, we were standing right behind Chris Crocker and Jeffree Star. (From Youtube.) They had their arms around each other most of the time. It was creepy, yet cool. Gym Class Heroes performed really greatly and I knew even more songs than I thought I would! Their music is just in general really fun, so it was all entertaining, (even if I didn’t know the song).

Lastly, Panic! At the Disco performed. Unfortunately, for their set, only their friends and family were allowed to come up, so we had to watch from the side. At this point, it was freezing cold, really late, and we were SO tired! We stayed for about 5 or 6 songs before heading out. They started off with “Nine in The Afternoon”, which was their hit at the time, and followed it with a few of their old hits. After a few we left Bamboozle 2008. The worst part about Bamboozle is having to leave because you know that it won’t be for an entire year until we get to do this all again with brand new bands. I had the time of my life and enjoyed every second of it!! =D

Hopefully you enjoyed reading all about my day!

Here are also the pictures from the day!

[gallery]

Comment on the bottom of this page and let me know what you thought of this entry! =D

lying is the most fun a girl can have with out taking her clothes off. -panic! at the disco.

i have been totally craving panic at the disco all week. not the new stuff. but i am craving the old album. and it's pretty much all i've been listening to. i love it. patd [bother a fever you can't sweat off and pretty.odd.] and wonderful. i fucking love them.

anyway,
my day was fine.
nothing really happened.
so i don't have much to say.
except, we had a fire drill today.
and "gary" [check the name page.] was near me.
now i don't know if i've brought it o your attention yet, he's a very attractive fellow who i believe i have feelings for.
[meaning: i like him.]
so anyway, he started waving at me, but i didn't think he was waving at me, and he was waving to someone around me. so i stood there all alone cause there is no one in my spanish class who is my friend. and then like his friends were like [yes i could hear them. they were less then 5 feet away] "who are you waving at?"
and he's like [pretty loud. to get my attention? haha.] "that girl over there."
and i was just like, blah.
and they were like, "which one?"
and he was like, "the one in the blue sweatshirt and the pink striped shoes."
and i looked over at him and smiled and he waves. and i waved. and he was like, [still from where he was] "i was trying to wave to you."
and i was like [in my tiny little shy voice.] "i'm sorry. i didn't know you were waving at me."
and he was like, "yeah right." but he said it more as a joke.
and then after spanish, i practically ran to my science class [he's in that hallway third period.]
so i wasn't running but i was walking alone so i figured, i'll walk relatively fast. to see him. but i didn't see him pass so i was like, alright whatever. and then who else be outside my science room but him. i completely cracked up on the inside. my whole body was laughing. but like i said, not out loud, just inside my head. and he looked at me pretending to be mad that i didn't wave back at him right away. so i waved and he smiled at me. i'm sure we would have talked if he wasn't talking to someone already. but to me, it was hysterical.
but, i guess you would have to be me to understand why.
maybe i'm just crazyy.

i think that's all.
maybe more later.

-your monster is falling for someone again. (:

So, in case you haven’t heard, Disney decided that the covers already out there for Nightmare

So, in case you haven't heard, Disney decided that the covers already out there for Nightmare Before Christmas would be a great way to make some money. But instead of using those covers, they hunted down their own.

I love this damn movie. And not recently. I loved it when it was in theaters and I was but a wee child. I was spooky from a young age.

I'll give you a quick rundown.

Overture(DeVotchKa)

Pretty straight-faced playthrough, nothing too wild or out there. I didn't get the feel for the cover artist, just more Nightmare stuff. Still, not bad. Listenable.

Opening (Danny Elfman)

Not technically revisiting, is it? This is all ground he's ploughed before. Cheating. Let's move on.

This Is Halloween (Marylin Manson)

This is an old cover. If you haven't heard it by now, you lose at the internet. Still, it's solid. Say what you will about Marylin Manson, he knows what songs to cover. Another solid version of this is offered up by Panic at the Disco.

Jack's Lament (All American Rejects)

Now, understand, this is my favorite song of the movie. I absolutely adore it. So when I hear that whiny voice streak through my eardrum, I wail inside. I got 20 seconds into this song before I had to turn it off, and only 4 seconds of that was comprised of vocals. Next.

Docter Finkelstein/In the Forest (Amina)

Thus far, the instrumentals are two-for-two on being good, and this one takes a step outside of what Nightmare originally laid out for it. I think this one's quite well done. Loving the theramin.

What's This? (Flyleaf)

Ugh. So, instrumentals are winning, but vocal bits are just... not clearing it. Her vocals are not quite emotive enough to handle the wonder that is supposed to be coursing through this song. She sings "What's this?" but it sounds like she really couldn't care less about what anything is.

I never in my life thought I'd write these words, but Fallout Boy did it better. You have failed. Next.

Town Meeting Song (The Polphonic Spree)

Let me just get this out of the way: I love The Polyphonic Spree. And their absolutely inspired cover of Nirvana's Lithium made me very curious to hear this. I'm really enjoying this one. It's not what I expected, but it's doing it's thing and taking me along with it. Best of the vocal songs so far. My only real complaint is that it needs to pick up the pace.

Jack and Sally Montage (The Vitamin String Quartet)

Another instrumental. Rather meh. Doesn't entice, doesn't push away. It's just there, four people on string instruments playing some music that stays just this side of spooky.

Jack's Obsession (Sparklehorse)

I didn't know you could ruin this song this badly. After all, it's a bit more obscure, and doesn't draw as much love or notice as the others. I thought this would slip under the radar of suck. I was wrong.

Kidnap the Sandy Claws (Korn)

It's Korn. I don't think I have to say any more. I started laughing at this cover not ten seconds in. I'd much rather be listening to She Wants Revenge, and even I'm able to recognize that SWR didn't do that amazing of a cover.

Making Christmas (Rise Against)

Not horrible, but the vocals just do not work for this song.

I've started down this dark path, and I will finish. Not rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail will stop me from this crap. But good God, what have I condemned myself to?

Nabbed (Yoshida Brothers)

More instrumental. More delicious things-not-sucking. Seriously, I could take half those singers to school on how you do these songs, and I'm barely passable. This track is great, really divergent from the original, displaying the Yoshida Brothers for what they are, but still keeps that kick of what the song once was.

Oogie Boogie's Song (Rodrigo y Gabriela)

So, wow. First, whatever made Disney decide to pick up these two is beyond me, but for once, God bless 'em for making a good call. This was a wonderful cover, even if you don't like two guitars playing maniacally side-by-side (which really, if you don't, what's your problem?). Gabriela's standard percussion-style strumming and Rodrigo's sharp picking make for an amazing cover here.

Sally's Song (Amy Lee)

When I first saw who was singing this, I muttered "Goddamnit." She has a solid voice, but it's so typical, putting the lead singer of Evanescence on this kind of project. Still. She did a very solid job, and I really can't complain. It doesn't compete with Fiona Apple's version at all. I think the two bring their own things to the table, and shouldn't have to fight for the lead.

Christmas Eve Montage (RJD2)

Meh.

Poor Jack (Plain White T's)

First of all... what? The Hey-There-Delilah assholes covering Nightmare Before Christmas music? And... wow. This... isn't terrible. Crap. Have my standards fallen so low that this is good, or is it good on its own?

To the Rescue (Datarock)

The first few measures of standard uhn-tiss made me concerned. Largely, not bad, but not incredible. Feels like that's become the mantra of this CD (alongside "singers can't sing").

Finale/Reprise (Shiny Toy Guns)

And welcome to why I'm here. Hearing this is a terrible tease. It makes me want to hear them cover the whole album. I can only imagine how they'd kick ass at What's This, Sally's Song (though I'd wager Carah would swing it better than Sisley). Ah, well. Damn.

Closing (Danny Elfman)

Cheating.

End Title (The Album Leaf)

Maybe we go through a lot of suck, but this is prettymuch the best way to wrap up this CD.

In the end? I'd say don't buy it, just download the good tracks.

Here at Diatribe Inc. headquarters honesty is what we aim for. That being said, brace yourselves for a real scolding here boys.

Lyrically this the most unimaginative bunch of prom night garbage I’ve heard since Al Gore’s Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech. I’m would love to quote to you some of these lyrics but I’m sure Microsoft Word will allow me to type such a horrendous character strand. Musically it’s what any musician can play, but challenges his or her self to do more.

Quite frankly I don’t like reviewing these albums because that means the music has to be within earshot. However, I feel that the tongue lashing is therapeutic. Some people squeeze little bags of sand for relief, but I just wait for the next Fueled By Ramen release to cum in the mail. Our readers have to wonder why a label would continue to send us their material when we continue to put in the microwave for cheap entertainment. I’ll tell you why; because they don’t read the reviews. It’s really as simple as all that. Fall Out Boy has never been to our website sadly enough. It’s cool. Thanks for the colorful drink coaster. Keep sending them. I’ll yell “pull” you release, and I’ll blow them out of the sky for sport. The day we stop reviewing this garbage is the day the label stumbles across the website. My apologies Less Than Jake.

Sempre.

About the Artists
Panic At The Disco released their sophomore album, Pretty. Odd. on March 25, 2008 through Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen. While the album is equally as catchy and infectious as their debut, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, the new album was created as an expansive pop album that channels the ghosts of Brian Wilson, The Beatles and The Zombies. The band's previous album sold over 2.2 million copies, and their single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" became a #1 hit on MTV, snagging the Best Video award in 2006.

Dashboard Confessional, led by critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba, has had three consecutive gold records - The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most (2001), A Mark A Mission A Brand A Scar (2003), and Dusk and Summer (2006). The band toured with U2 and wrapped up their last headline run in 2006 with a sold out Madison Square Garden show. They are putting the finishing touches on a new album, which was produced by Fountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger.

Joining Panic At The Disco and Dashboard Confessional are very special guests Plain White T's and The Cab. Plain White T's are about to release Big Bad World the highly anticipated follow-up to the band's platinum-plus-selling breakthrough release Every Second Counts. On the strength of mega-hit single "Hey There Delilah," which rocketed to No. 1 in 10 countries and was the fourth song in history to sell over 3 million digital downloads, Every Second Counts sold over a million and a half copies worldwide and earned the Chicago quintet not one, but two Grammy nominations. The Cab are the next up-and-coming band that will soon become a household name. They released their debut album, Whisper War, on April 29th through Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen.

Ernest's first actual piece of clothing is finished. No, the party hat and bow tie did not count as full pieces of clothing. They are now tucked away in Ernest's Snoopy box of doom. I mean clothing. Except that his tuxedo won't fit. Yes, I did say tuxedo. Ernest has his James Bond outfit finished, with the exception of buttons and that huge gun that Daniel Craig lugs around in the Quantum of Solace poster.

It looks shabby, I think. That's because I had to rip stuff off and reglue a lot. Gah. Spongebob was also in my head...oh yeah because my sister kept playing Spongebob clips on Neopets. Grrr. I can't believe people still like Neopets. And that they shamelessly promote other things on their site. As if it were a Neopets thing. And her Neopet is uglier than my Neopet. Yes, I have a Neopet, but it hasn't eaten since fourth grade.

It's fun to do fashion designs for Ernest, but I need more ideas. I've got a Prince Philip (Sleeping Beauty)costume for the photoshoot, Batman, which will end up being a weird stew of all the Batmans, I think, and a speedo. (I'm considering a star-spangled banner pattern. By the way, this cafeteria man on Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader didn't know the lyrics to the National Anthem. We should pie him. With Sweeney Todd's pies. Also, the winter solstice is on December 21st, the day Sweeney Todd came out. Which means this year, my turn to do the layout for the Youth Forum is also December 21st. And, the trailer for Public Enemies comes out on Christmas! What a delightful present. I feel like Little Bobby from my English essay. What a long parentheses thingy this has been! I was playing Six Degrees with everything in my life at the moment.) It's fun to draw Ernest designs because he's just a rectangle. Huzzah for simplicity. DING! A Borat style swimsuit? Gross...

Ugh! What smells like rat? Ewww sudden dead frozen rat smell infestation in my house.

Cerita ini dimulai pas gw denger band favorit gw, Panic At The Disco, bakal manggung di Indonesia.

Cerita ini dimulai pas gw denger band favorit gw, Panic At The Disco, bakal manggung di Indonesia. Gw pun nyari-nyari informasinya di internet. Dan akhirnya ketemu! Wah, beneran ternyata, mereka bakalan manggung di Indonesia. Cuman yang bikin gw heran, mereka manggung tanggal 17 Agustus 2008. Itulah hari kemerdekaan kita. Hari merdeka nusa dan bangsa. Hari lahirnya bangsa Indonesia. Mer…de…ka…. Udah ah nyanyinya, hehe.

Yagi: “Udah.”

Gw: “Nonton yuk.”

Yagi: “Ke Jakarta? Hayu-hayu.”

Gw: “Berapaan tiketnya?”

Yagi: “Yang festival Rp 750.000, kalo yang tribun Rp 700.000.”

Gw: “Jrit, mahal.”

Yagi: “Emang.”

Gw: “Eh, dah denger yang album kedua?”

Yagi: “Blom. Lo punya? Minta lah”.

Besoknya, kita ngobrol lagi.

Yagi: “Jal, kok Panic jadi kaya gini sih. Lagunya jadi aneh-aneh.”

Gw: “He uh, emang. Jadi gimana dong rencana kita ke Jakarta?”

Yagi: “Ga tau deh, gw ga yakin.”

Gw: “Sama, gw juga. Lagian tiketnya mahal.”

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="288" caption="Tiket Konser Panic At The Disco"][/caption]

Kita pun sempet berniat ga jadi pergi. Isinya kaya gini:

Jal, tiket Panic katanya turun. Coba cek bener ga?

Gw pun cek ke javamusikindo.com. Ternyata bener, harga tiketnya turun!

Yagi: “Jadi bener harga tiketnya turun?”

Gw: “Iya, bener. Kita jadiin aja yuk nontonnya?”

Yagi: “Ok. Tapi bener ya kita jadiin.”

Gw: “Iya bener.”

Thanks to Dhilla.

Malemnya, gw nyengir-nyengir sendiri (emang rada gila kok gw). “Bentar lagi gw nonton konsernya Panic! Hahahaha”, pikir gw.

Atas nama: Mohamad Noor Rizal

2 tiket Konser The Used

Rp 600.000

Hah!! Konser The Used! Anjrit, gw salah beli tiket! Gw langsung sms si Yagi, bahwa kita salah beli tiket. Dia pun ngebales, katanya ntar aja kita omongin di sekolah. FYI, emang The Used ntar manggung, kalo ga salah 4 hari sebelum Panic manggung. Tapi tetep aja, kita emang niatnya mau nonton Panic, bukan The Used.

For one more time, thanks to Dhilla lagi, soalnya dia niat nyariin nomor telepon Ardan ke 108 buat kita. Langsung aja kita telepon si Mbak yang ngelayanin kita waktu beli tiket. Ternyata, kita emang udah terdaftar buat dapetin tiket Panic.

Sip.
