Thought I would post some more pics of interiors that I have painted. All are painted sketches on paper.

These are real fun for me and much lighter and more obviously romantic. Funnily I havent done anything like this for a while now.

It was a nice, quiet, cool night before holi. Nobody was in the mood to play with colours.. esp. Flying Officer Shubham Singh and his loyal brother Er. Rohit Singh.. who refrained frm the whole idea. I had slept very  late at night.. but was expecting Er. Apurv Gupta, Er. Rohit Kishore aka. Chor, Er. Toshki Yadav aka. **atu , Madhur Mittal and Rachit Raj aka. ahem.. let it be... to step on me in the morning. At around 10 in the morning, they came. Din even get the tym to wash my face.. and there was no sense doing it.. coz u were goin to be treated lyk a dog..may be worse than dat. Well, but i did get the tym to change into kurta and a pair of jeans.. more apt for the occasion.

Finally, taking one last breath.. i went downstairs. Aahh.. it was nice. Everyone springin upon you.. like mad monkeys..then moving hands lyk it was the best they could do.. this was the way holi was played..yea.. !

After they had invaded me, i joined them and we headed towards Er. Sid's home. He as usual was into his computer.. but was fully ready for action. He offered himself to us.. and really looked lyk some goat.. who was bout to be slaughtered.. and well, he was coloured. Then, it was Saurabh's turn. i still remember that look on his face.. as if he was goin to be smeared.. and he was right! Even Rohit was completely surprised to see all of us there.. and he too.. gave in.

Then we went to several other places.. even Er. Chanu joined us..and he was happy he did. Went to HIG also.. nice environment there.. met quite a few friends.. and Varun..who was totally engrossed in himself.. Rachit got into some petty fight with him but came back grounded.. lost.

Met Sir Chaturvedi and Sir Ulrick on the way.. and took their blessings..

It was quite an appealing day..overall.

I thought it might be interesting to see how this piece began. It was painted in our holiday apartment in Nice in about 03. An amazing place with a view of girls of the night from the rear window and a tropical garden leading to Promenade des Anglais at the front. High ceilings and marble floors. It was such pure escapism! This is where we sat to read mostly. I read The Old Man and the Sea by Hemmingway for the first time in that chair!

2 cups of boiled potatoes.
1 tablespoon of mustard oil.
1 teaspoon of rice wine vinegar.
1 teaspoon of mustard.
½ teaspoon of salt.
½ teaspoon of wasabi.
½ cup of crayfish tails.

Instructions for Crayfish Sushi:

With a fork, mash the boiled potatoes with a fork.

Add the mustard oil, vinegar, mustard, salt and wasabi.

Set aside and allow to cool.

Roll out the potatoes into appropriately sized pieces; placing a craytish tail on top of each piece.

Serve warm.

if the written and the spoken are inversely proportionate, writing a bit here will get my tounge more spare time to do funny stuff.

Not everyone is rejoicing over the birth of Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.

Protesters have been picketing outside the hospital in France where les enfants were born. They're outraged and claim the Mayor of Nice has been spending more time waving the kids' birth certificates and kissing the butts of American movie stars than addressing the case of a local murder victim.

Millions of people taking commonly prescribed antidepressants such as Prozac and Seroxat might as well be taking a placebo, according to the first study to include unpublished evidence.
The new generation of antidepressant drugs work no better than a placebo for the majority of patients with mild or even severe depression, comprehensive research of clinical trials has found.
The researchers said that the drug was more effective than a placebo in severely depressed patients but that this was because of a decreased placebo effect.
The study, described as “fantastically important” by British experts, comes as the Government publishes plans to help people to manage depression without popping pills.

More than £291 million was spent on antidepressants in 2006, including nearly £120 million on SSRIs. As many as one in five people suffers depression at some point. With that in mind, ministers will today publish plans to train 3,600 therapists to treat depression. Spending on counselling and other psychological therapies will rise to at least £30 million a year.

The study, by Irving Kirsch, from the Department of Psychology at the University of Hull, is the first to examine both published and unpublished evidence of the effectiveness of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which account for 16 million NHS prescriptions a year. It suggests that the effectiveness of the drugs may have been exaggerated in the past by drugs companies cherry-picking the best results for publication.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), which is due to review its guidance on treating depression, said that it would consider the study.

Mental health charities say that most GPs admit that they are still overprescribing SSRIs, which are considered as effective as older drugs but with fewer side-effects. SSRIs account for more than half of all antidrepressant prescriptions, despite guidelines from NICE in 2004 that they should not be used as a first-stop remedy.

American and British experts led by Professor Kirsch examined the clinical trials submitted to gain licences for four commonly used SSRIs, including fluoxetine (better known as Prozac), venlafaxine (Efexor) and paroxetine (Seroxat).

The study is published today in the journal PLoS (Public Library of Science) Medicine. Analysing both the unpublished and published data from the trials, the team found little evidence that the drugs were much better than a placebo.

“Given these results there seems little reason to prescribe antide-pressant medication to any but the most severely depressed patients, unless alternative treatments have failed,” Professor Kirsch said. “The difference in improvement between patients taking placebos and patients taking antidepressants is not very great. This means that depressed people can improve without chemical treatments.” He added that the study “raises serious issues that need to be addressed surrounding drug licensing and how drug trial data is reported”.

The data for all 47 clinical trials for the drugs were released by the US Food and Drug Administration under freedom of information rules. They included unpublished trials that were not made available to NICE when it recommended the drugs for use on the NHS. “Had NICE seen all the relevant unpublished studies, it might have come to a different conclusion,” Professor Kirsch said.

Tim Kendall, a deputy director of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Research Unit, who helped to formulate the NICE guidance, said that the findings were “fantastically important” and that it was “dangerous” for drug companies not to have to publish their full data. He added: “Three of these drugs are some of the most commonly used antidepressants in this country. It’s not mandatory for drug companies to publish all this research. I think it should be.”

SSRIs are not prescribed to patients under 18 because of the risk of suicide.Drugs watchdogs in Europe are considering tighter controls on the development of new medicines, The Times reported this month, and may soon require regulators to monitor psychiatric effects and the risk of suicide more closely during clinical trials.

A spokesman for GlaxoSmithKline, which makes Seroxat, said: “The authors have failed to acknowledge the very positive benefits these treatments have provided to patients and their families dealing with depression and their conclusions are at odds with what has been seen in actual clinical practice. This one study should not be used to cause unnecessary alarm and concern for patients.”

A spokesman for Eli Lilly, which makes Prozac, said: “Extensive scientific and medical experience has demonstrated that fluoxetine is an effective antidepressant.”

As I move forward with my work it is great to look back and find things that are relevant to what I am doing now. This painted sketch was made in Nice in about 2003. I went on to begin an idea about empty interiors with suggested narrative. All of the paintings were done on paper and influencedin style by Matisse particularly "open window, Collioure "and Raoul Dufy. "Interior with an open window". As with most things the idea slowly evolved and these pieces got forgotten in a folder.

The things that I learnt while making them are relevant now and it is lovely to find them and think about how I can encorporate them into current work.

What I enjoyed most was the lightness and joy in them! I even thought about framing and selling these for an instant! Perhaps I should give that some thought!

Das wird auch gerne mal verschwiegen.

- Weight Watchers heißt in Brazilien vigilantes do peso, in Finnland Painonvartijat, in Schweden Vikt Väktarna, aber in zig anderen Ländern, wie Italien, Griechenland, Spanien, den Bahamas oder Hong Kong gleich wie bei uns oder in englisch sprachigen Ländern. Seit über 40 Jahren bietet Weight Watchers in über 30 Länder dieser Erde Frauen und Männern den Weg der Ernährungsumstellung.

- Apropos Jahre und beliebte Organisationen:
Tupper Ware wurde 1946 in Orlando/Florida gegründet, wo bis vor kurzem auch ein sehr schönes Tupper-Museum stand. Zuerst hieß das damals erfundene Plastikreindl "Wunderschüssel" und ist heute in 100 (!) Ländern vertreten, wobei 84% des Gesamtumsatzes (!) die USA macht. Ich konnte leider nicht herausfinden, wieviele Tupperberaterinnen es zum Bleistift in Deutschland gibt, kann aber, auf Anfrage, gerne eine sehr nette flotte Dame aus Hamburg empfehlen.

- Cini Minis gibt es nun übrigens auch mit Erdbeergeschmack. Wie das schmeckt, können wir uns alle denken. Wer das kauft, ist die andere Frage.

- Zu guter letzt jetzt sicher nicht dieser ewig aufgerollte Fakt mit Frauen und verspeisten Lippenstift pro Kopf und Nase und Menschenleben. Ich wünsch Euch stattdessen einen schönen Mittwochabend und fülle nun meine amazon Wunschliste. Ich finde nämlich, dass das eine ganz arg feine Erfindung ist. Im Gegensatz zu den Chemieczuckerschockcerealien im oberen Absatz.

Das Digitalkameras begehrt sind in Nizza, können wir seit dem Besuch des CAP 3000 – dem Einkaufszentrum der Stadt – verstehen: Alles ist hier zu finden, nur kein Fotoapparat. Auf die Frage an der Information nach einem Laden dafür, führte man uns zum örtlichen Handyanbieter Orange. Hier gab es zwar alle neuesten Handymodelle – auch mit Fotofunktion – aber eben keine Geräte, die nicht telefonieren können. Es muss künftig ohne eigens erstellte Beweisfotos weitergehen. [Schnief]

Nonton film yang diatas, awalnya mau nonton filmnya Will Smith tapi berhubung ngga ada ya udah nonton WANTED deh. Awalnya pas nyampe Djakarta, mulut langsung nganga. Keki liat spanduk film Hancock udah ga ada. Uuuuurgh, dasar 21cineplex penipu!!! Tapi kata Angga liat ke atas aja, ya udah kita naik. Yah, karena udah terlanjur ke situ, jadi nonton aja deh yang ada.

"Selamat siang, mau nonton film apa mas?" kata mba2 penjual tiket.

"Emmm, kalo yang laen pada nonton apa ya mba?" saya tanya gitu aja yang secara ngga langsung minta dipilihin film apa yang seharusnya saya tonton.

"Kalo yang laen pada nonton WANTED."

"Oooo, ya udah saya pesen 2 tiket." saya pasrah mengikuti petunjuk mba2 tersebut.

Well, singkat kata film WANTED ga bagus, tapi saya seneng2 aja nontonnya.

Tapi yang lebih bikin saya seneng adalah, IP saya akhirnya mencapai angka 3,00. Yipiiiiiiii!!! Tinggal tunggu satu nilai lagi yang belum keluar, mata kuliah POLIN (Politik Irma Indrayani, hahahaha). Sebenernya POLIN itu kepanjangan Politik Internasional, tapi temen saya Edo bikin plesetan kalo POLIN itu kepanjangan dari Politik Irma Indrayani. Irma Indrayani sekarang udah jadi dosen, dulunya asdos. Karena dia naik pangkat, dia akhirnya memakai kekuatan politik kepada mahasiswa didikannya agar bisa tunduk sama dia. Huh, dasar fox lady. Ciri khas si Irma adalah tugas-nya yang naujubilah amit-amit. Dalam satu minggu dia bakal ngasih 2 jenis tugas, makalah individu sama kelompok, dan minggu depan sudah harus selesai. Minggu depan kasih tugas lagi, minggu depannya, 2 minggu depan, 3 minggu depan, dan seterusnya adalah tugas. Kayanya 100% penilaian adalah tugas buat dia, UTS dan UAS bodo amat.

Jolie, 33, gave birth to the twins during a half-hour caesarean operation at a maternity clinic in Nice on the French Riviera.

"Everything went smoothly. The children are doing very well, the mother is doing very well and the father is doing very well,'' gynaecologist Michel Sussmann said.

The first photograph of the baby celebrities was sold to a US paper for $US11 million ($11.5 million), the regional Nice-Matin newspaper said, adding that the money would be given to a humanitarian cause. (news)

And finally: The reports were premature before, but it looks like Angelina delivered a boy and girl last night around 10pm local time in the French Riviera.

The babies names, according to her doc, are Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. So much for doctor-patient confidentiality. The couple has reportedly already sold the exclusive rights to the first baby picture for $11 million, which they will donate to a charity.

South America and Australia remain uncolonized by Brangelina.

 NICE, France - The Brangelina twins are here: Angelina Jolie has given birth to a girl and a boy, and dad Brad Pitt took the whole thing in stride.

While praying in the Jerusalem House of Prayer for All Nations I saw a map of France. The picture moved from city to city. Altogether cities with Jewish inhabitants. In each city a red pin was pressed in. It started in the north, in Paris and went on to Strasbourg and further southwards to Lyon, Nice and Toulouse. The last city was Marseille and my finger was pierced there and began to bleed.

Ao lado do médico que fez o parto dos gêmeos, Michel Sussmann, ele mostrou o documento que oficializa o nascimento de mais dois herdeiros dos astros.

Vivienne Marcheline e Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt nasceram neste sábado no Hospital Lenval, em Nice, de cesariana, com a diferença de um minuto um do outro. Knox nasceu primeiro às 18h27 do horário local.

Vencedora do Oscar, Jolie, 33, teve uma menina e um menino em uma operação cesariana realizada no Hospital Lenval, em Nice, no sábado. Seu marido, o ator Brad Pitt, foi citado como estando a seu lado.

A menina, chamada de Vivienne Marcheline, nasceu com 2,27 quilos, e seu irmão, Knox Leon, nasceu pesando 2,28 quilos, segundo informou o médico de Jolie, Michel Sussmann.

"Os pais e os bebês estão com excelente saúde. Tudo está bem", afirmou Sussmann à Reuters. Ele afirmou que a cesariana vinha sendo planejada há tempos.

Marcheline é o nome da mãe de Jolie, também atriz, que morreu de câncer no ano passado. Marcheline Bertrand criou Jolie e seu irmão, James Haven, depois de se divorciar do ator Jon Voight quando Jolie ainda era menina.

Representantes do casal não puderam ser imediatamente contatados, mas Sussmann afirmou à revista People que Pitt, 44, estava ao lado de Jolie durante o parto.

Jolie chegou ao hospital no final de junho, de helicóptero que saiu de uma vila na Provença onde o casal está morando com seus outros quatro filhos: Maddox, Pax, Zahara e Shiloh.

Uma multidão de fotógrafos e equipes de filmagem acampou do lado de fora do hospital neste domingo, na expectativa de terem uma imagem da família e amigos que chegam para dar parabéns aos pais.

O jornal Nice Martin, que publicou a notícia do nascimento no domingo, informou que o casal vendeu por 11 milhões de dólares direitos exclusivos das primeiras fotos dos gêmeos a uma revista norte-americana não identificada. O dinheiro, segundo o jornal será entregue à caridade.

O casal, apelidado pela imprensa de "Brangelina", mudou-se para uma vila do século 17 da região da Provença, na França, que foi tomada por paparazzi quando a notícia de sua chegada tornou-se conhecida.

Jolie, estrela do filme "Wanted", e Pitt, do elenco de "Onze Homens e um Segredo", tornaram seu relacionamento público depois de estrelarem juntos o filme "Sr. e Sra Smith", de 2005.
