Here are whitelisting instructions for some of the major email service providers. The minimum we suggest they do is to add the 'from' email address (username@domain) into their email system's address book.  

Please insert the From address you are whitelisting for username@domain.com using the instructions below:AOL

Add the "From address" you want to receive mailings from to your AOL address book:

1. Click the "Mail Options" menu and select "Address Book".
2. Inside the "Address Book" window, click the "Add" button.
3. Inside the "Address Card for New Contact" window cut and paste username@domain.com into the "Other E-Mail" field.
4. Make our From address the "Primary E-Mail" address by checking the associated check box to the right of it.
5. Click the "Save" button.

If the mailing is in your SPAM Folder, you can open the email and click the "This Is Not Spam" button.

Gmail

Add the From address you want to receive mailings from to your Gmail Contacts List:

1. Click "Contacts" along the left side of any Gmail page.
2. Click "Create Contact".
3. Copy and paste username@domain.com into the primary email address dialog box.
4. Click "Save".

If the mailing is in your SPAM folder, check the box next to the mailing and click the "Not Spam" button along the top.

Hotmail

Add the From address you want to receive mailings from to your Hotmail Safe List:

1. Open your mailbox and click “Options” (upper right hand corner).
2. Click the “Junk E-Mail Protection” link.
3. Select the “Safe List” link.
4. Copy and paste username@domain.com into the dialog box titled “Type an address or domain”.
5. Click the “Add” button next to the dialog box.

If the mailing is in your "Junk E-Mail Folder", open the email and click the "Not Junk" button. 

You should also check that the mailing's email address is not in your Blocked Senders list.  You can find your Blocked Senders list by following the directions above and going to "Blocked Senders List" instead of "Safe List".  If you see the mailing's from address on this list, select it and click the Remove button. 

Mozilla Thunderbird

Add the From address you want to receive mailings from to your Thunderbird Address Book and configure your Junk Mail Controls to white list your address book.

Add an address into your Personal Address Book:

1. Click the "Address Book" button.
2. Make sure the Personal Address Book is highlighted.
3. Click the "New Card" button.
4. Under the "Contact" tab, copy and paste username@domain.com into the Email dialog box.
5. Click "OK".

White list your Personal Address Book:

1. From the main drop down menu, select "Tools -< Junk Mail Controls..."
2. This will launch the Junk Mail Controls window that has two tabs: Settings and Adaptive Filter
3. Under the Settings tab, update the "White Lists" module by selecting Personal Address Book from the pull down menu and then check mark the box next to "Do not mark messages as junk mail".
4. Click "OK".

If the mailing is in your junk folder, right-click the mailing and choose "Mark -< As Not Junk".

Netscape Mail

Set up a filter to redirect the mailing you want to receive into your inbox:

1. From the Edit drop down menu, select "Message Filters".
2. Click "New", and give the new filter a name (e.g. "Whitelist").
3. Change the drop down on the left to "sender" and the one in the middle to "is".
4. Copy and paste username@domain.com into the box on the right.
5. Make the bottom two drop downs "Move to folder" and "Inbox".
6. Click "OK".
7. Make sure that your new filter is located at the top of the Message Filter list so it is run before any spam filter.

Outlook 2003

Add the address you want to receive mailings from to your Safe Senders list:

1. On the Tools menu, click "Options".
2. On the Preferences tab, click "Junk E-mail".
3. On the Safe Senders tab, click "Add".
4. In the Add address box, copy and paste in username@domain.com and click OK.

If you are using a different version of Outlook you can add the mailers From address to your Address Book. This can be done by opening the email, right clicking the From address, and selecting "Add To Contacts". You can also access your Address Book via the tools drop down menu.

Yahoo

Set up a filter to redirect the mailing you want to receive in your inbox:

1. Open your mailbox and click on "Mail Options" (upper right hand corner).
2. Select "Filters" under the Management column.
3. Click the "Add" button on the Filters page.
4. In the "From header:" row, make the drop down "contains" and put the mailer's from address username@domain.com   in the box.
5. At the bottom of the page Click the "Choose Folder" pull down menu and select "Inbox".
6. Click the "Add Filter" button.

If the mailing is in your Yahoo Bulk Folder open the email and click the "Not Spam" button. You should also check that the mailing's email address is not in your "Blocked Addresses" list.  You can find your "Blocked Addresses" list by clicking "Mail Options" and then clicking the "Blocked Addresses" link under the Spam column.  If you see the mailing's from address on this list, select it and click the "Remove Block" button. 

Others

The most common way to whitelist an address is to add it to your address book, white list, or safe list.  There is no universal way to whitelist an address, so if this is not an option, you will have to consult the help section associated with your email application.  They should have instructions on how to whitelist an address there.

El programa que ha actualizado a su versión 1.60 el pasado día 2, cuenta con una interfaz sencilla de manejar, ordenada en categorías o grupos con posibilidad de presentar todas sus opciones en diferentes vistas, e incluso acceder a las propiedades de los diferentes elementos desde el menú contextual.

En las tres capturas del programa que muestro a continuación, con diferentes opciones podréis observar en ellas que las actuaciones son muy intuitivas y por tanto no requieren grandes explicaciones.

Desinstalador de programas:
Desde los distintos tipos de vista de los iconos o desde el menú contextual se accede a información adicional de los programas instalados: enlaces a la web del fabricante, propiedades, ubicación, etc.

Herramientas de Windows:
(Restauración del sistema, Centro de seguridad, Servicios, Politica de grupos, Información del sistema, desfragmentador, etc).

Limpieza de rastros de navegación:
Limpiar archivos temporales de Internet, historial, cookies, descargas etc., de los navegadores web: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Netscape.

En el momento de la descarga podremos seleccionar bajar la versión instalable o la versión portable. Esta última nos permitirá utilizar el programa desde cualquier medio de almacenamiento externo, discos duros, pendrive, cd, etc.

Recentemente foi lançada a versão 2.0 do Firefox, que pode ser baixado gratuitamente no site da Mozilla Foundation.
Um dos melhores recursos do novo Firefox é que ele possui uma protecção anti-phishing embutida em seu sistema. Isso dificulta muito mais a acção de criminosos da web que tentam roubar dados bancários e pessoais através da Internet.
Ele possui também ferramentas de pesquisa dos maiores sites de busca do mundo, incluindo o Google. Sendo assim você nem precisa mais visitar o site de buscas, pode buscar directamente no navegador. E tem mais, se você digitar as palavras-chave directamente no espaço reservado para o endereço, ele automaticamente vai para a página mais relevante encontrada no Google. Com as palavras certas, nem ao menos precisa procurar, basta digitar no endereço.
A navegação com abas continua activa, mas foi melhorada. Agora além de poder abrir diversas abas dentro de uma mesma janela (economizando espaço em sua área de trabalho), cada aba possui um botão de fechar e ao invés de a aba diminuir quando se abrem muitas ao mesmo tempo, o browser mostra uma seta no canto da tela para você ver as abas excedentes (como um sistema de rodagem comum).

O que mais chama a atenção no novo Firefox é o recurso Session Restore (já presente em outros navegadores), que faz com que o Firefox abra a mesma secção que você estava utilizando em caso de quebra do sistema (tanto do browser, quanto do Sistema Operacional e até mesmo do computador). Ou seja, sem mais stress porque todas as 42 abas que você tinha aberto fecharam quando o sistema travou.

Opera
Outro excelente browser é o Opera, que chega hoje à sua versão 9.02 e também pode ser baixado gratuitamente no site do fabricante.

Netscape
O terceiro dos mais famosos browsers é o antigo Netscape. Ele já competiu com o Internet Explorer, mas foi arremessado para fora do mercado no famoso caso de processo por monopólio contra a Microsoft. Agora ele está de volta, utilizando a mesma engine do Firefox (o Gecko), o que os torna semelhantes na segurança, mas o Netscape ainda está muito pesado e não conta com vários recursos que poderia ter.

Internet Explorer 6 e 7
O mais famoso dos navegadores é conhecido também pelos especialistas como sendo o pior deles. Com falhas de segurança descobertas dia após dia e o maior índice de erros entre todos os navegadores entre os mais conhecidos, além de ser o browser com a pior aceitação de código css e má interpretação dos códigos html. Em sua nova versão, muitos desses problemas foram corrigidos. Agora ele aceita o CSS 2.0 (codificação responsável pelo posicionamento de elementos no site)que já era aceito pelo firefox e opera há algum tempo. Além disso ele está mais "standard compliant", o que significa que ele segue mais à risca as regras da W3C. Mas, como sempre, alguns dias após seu lançamento já foi encontrada a primeira brecha de segurança e também uma má notícia para usuários de sistemas antigos: apenas o windows XP oficial aceita a instalação do Internet Explorer 7.

Also, if you still don’t know, there’s a “new” note on RH’s door and the ‘Change to Big Screen Mode’ feature will be added to CP next Tuesday. The Mission-Select folder and F.I.S.H. has been updated. Click the sunglasses to get the Night Vision Goggles (which can be used in place of the flashlight in Mission 3). And once you get medal for the new mission, you can open it and see what time it is!

MADRID.- Más de 170 millones de usuarios activos del navegador Firefox estrenarán la nueva versión, prevista para junio de este año. Mientras, el presidente de Mozilla Europa, Tristan Nitot, viene a España a explicar cómo un producto hecho sobre todo por voluntarios ha llegado a ser todo un icono del 'software' libre en todo el mundo.

Pregunta: El pasado 31 de marzo, el proyecto Mozilla cumplía 10 años de vida. ¿Cuál es el origen de Mozilla? ¿Cuál es la historia?

Respuesta: Espero tener suficiente memoria y batería, porque es una historia muy larga.

P. Trate de resumirla...

R. La historia comienza realmente con Netscape, que fue un navegador pionero en muchos aspectos. Los navegadores se convirtieron en una auténtica plataforma para aplicaciones para Internet, que corren sobre cualquier sistema operativo. El origen de Mozilla está en el navegador, somos 'hijos' de Netscape.

Hubo un momento en el que Microsoft entendió que un navegador líder era peligroso para su sistema Windows, porque podría convertir el sistema operativo en algo irrelevante. Digo esto porque puedes usar un mismo navegador en varios sistemas operativos, en Linux o en Mac, por ejemplo, y eso era muy peligroso para el modelo de negocio de Microsoft. Por lo tanto, decidieron 'matar' Netscape.

P. ¿Cómo?

P. Hemos hablado de Firefox como el producto estrella de Mozilla, pero hay otros como el programa de correo Thunderbird que quizá no estén tan extendidos. ¿Cuál cree que es la razón?

R. Es verdad. Lo que para es que se trata de asuntos diferentes. En el mercado de los navegadores hubo un tiempo en el que había mucha frustración porque no había prácticamente evolución, la gente quería mejores navegadores. En el sector del correo electrónico había posibilidad de elección, y además una enorme cantidad de usuarios optaron por el correo web en lugar de por clientes de correo. Había menos frustración, esa es la principal razón. Actualmente hay algo menos de 10 millones de usuarios de este cliente de correo.

P. ¿Por qué se creó en 2005 Mozilla Corporation como subsidiaria de la Fundación? ¿Cuál fue la verdadera razón?

R. Yo estuve en el comité que tomó aquella decisión. Bueno, fue por causa de los impuestos, pero en un sentido muy inusual. Una fundación no paga impuestos en EEUU; si tienes relaciones comerciales mínimas y generas un beneficio económico reducido comparado con lo que aportas, no pasa nada, pero si comienzas a generar beneficios significativos, has de pagar impuestos. Lo que hicimos fue crear Mozilla Corporation, que es una subsidiaria al 100% de la Fundación, y cuya principal ventaja es precisamente que paga impuestos, lo que facilita cerrar acuerdos con nuestros socios. Honestamente, es mejor pagar impuestos (se ríe).

P. ¿De dónde viene principalmente el dinero a Mozilla?

Esa es la razón por la que cerramos acuerdos con los mejores buscadores, y al principio lo hicimos completamente gratis. Cuando comenzamos a generarles mucho tráfico, quisieron pagarnos por colocar sus motores en posición preferente. Nosotros no entramos en ese tipo de negociación, porque el orden de los buscadores en el navegador es nuestro, pensamos en el usuario. Entonces, cambiaron el punto de vista y nos ofrecieron pagar por 'mantener su posición'. De esta forma, tenemos contratos con varios motores de búsqueda.

P. Entonces, ¿Pagó Google por ser el buscador por defecto en Firefox?

R. Realmente Google paga por seguir manteniendo ese puesto preferencial. Lo cierto es que fue una decisión muy complicada, no se trataba de dinero. Ahora nos apoyan, lo que está fenomenal, porque nos dan sostenibilidad pese a que somos una organización sin ánimo de lucro, mientras que antes dependíamos de las donaciones o de la tienda Mozilla, que vende 'souvenirs' y camisetas. Esta última, por cierto, llegó a ser muy importante para nosotros.

P. ¿Cuál es, por tanto, la principal fuente de ingresos para Mozilla?

R. Google. En 2006 invirtieron 66 millones de dólares, lo que no está mal. Creo que actualmente supone el 80% de los ingresos de Mozilla.

P. ¿Cuántas personas colaboran con ustedes? ¿Cuánta gente trabaja en Mozilla?

P. ¿Cómo se puede colaborar con los proyectos de Mozilla?

R. Tus lectores y tú podéis colaborar fácilmente, depende de lo que te guste y de tus habilidades. Si te gusta programar y te gusta ayudar a la gente, o bien contestar a las preguntas de los usuarios sobre Firefox o Thunderbird, o incluso echar una mano en la moderación de los foros, y quizá revisando las traducciones de los productos, no sé. Incluso avisar de algunos sitios que no son compatibles con el navegador, o sugerir cambios como usuario. Cuando uno más colabora, más se engancha y más aprende; es como un juego con diferentes niveles, que a medida que se van pasando uno se divierte más, y se adquieren nuevas responsabilidades también.

P. En junio llega Firefox 3, la nueva versión del navegador. ¿Nos puede adelantar algo destacable, alguna novedad importante?

R. Hay muchísimos cambios, más de 10.000 respecto a la versión actual. Muchos de ellos son pequeños cambios, más bien ajustes, aunque en otros casos son muy importantes, son radicales. El motor es mucho más rápido que antes, es más comodo. La gestión de la memoria también ha mejorado, lo que es importante porque la gente usa cada vez más intensivamente Internet, y las aplicaciones son cada vez más complejas, como Google Maps o Raeder, son toneladas de aplicaciones AJAX que tiran mucho de memoria. esto es un problema, por ejemplo, para los ordenadores relativamente antiguos, así que se mejora la navegación para muchos más usuarios. En la parte más visible, puede que el cambio más importante sea la 'barra de direcciones inteligente', que es asombrosa porque facilita el acceso a un historial de navegación que se puede remontar hasta 150 días, que guarda el navegador de forma local. Es una forma de usar el propio historial como si fuera la pestaña de 'favoritos', porque recupera direcciones de manera inteligente. Naturalmente, se puede eliminar el historial.

P. ¿Cuál es su opinión sobre el 'software' propietario?

P. Microsoft ha afirmado que su 'software' está más expuesto a los ataques porque está muchísimo más extendido...

R. Sí, sí, eso es verdad. Cuanto más gente usa un 'software', tiene más sentido para los delincuentes atacar ese 'software'. Lo que pasa es que eso es sólo uno de los parámetros que se han de tener en cuenta. Otro de los parámetros es la 'ventana de exposición', es decir, cuánto tiempo pasa desde que existe un agujero de seguridad hasta que se soluciona. Puedo buscar vulnerabilidades en Firefox, pero lo cierto es que ese problema se suele arreglar muy rápido. Por otro lado, Microsoft puede tardar meses en reparar un error en Internet Explorer... Este es quizás el parámetro más importante para medir la seguridad. Hay más de 170 millones de usuarios activos de Firefox, frente a los cerca de 500 millones de usuarios de Explorer.

Somos transparentes, cualquiera puede acceder al código, por lo que cualquier error se detecta más rápido y se soluciona más rápido. Todo el mundo puede verlo, no podemos mentir. La transparencia nos obliga a ser honestos, lo que es bueno para el usuario. En cambio, el 'software' propietario es una caja negra. Si alguien de una compañía descubre un problema, no se lo dice a nadie de fuera de la compañía o le echarían, por lo que el problema queda oculto. La compañía puede que arregle ese agujero de seguridad en unos meses, seis u ocho, y mientras que nadie de fuera lo descubra ese error, ese error no cuenta. Creo que lo preferible para el usuario es la transparencia.

P. ¿Puede explicar sus planes para desarrollar productos para móviles?

R. Bien, está el proyecto Fennec (el nombre es el de una especie de zorro que habita en el desierto del Sahara), que es su nombre en clave, y que básicamente es trasladar el navegador Firefox a los dispositivos móviles. Es un navegador, que probablemente se llamará Firefox Mobile, aunque aún no está decidido. El interfaz de usuario será diferente, por las limitaciones de los dispositivos, las pantallas, los teclados, la ausencia de ratón...

P. ¿Es un proyecto diseñado para todo tipo de dispositivo móvil?

El usuario quiere acceder a la Red de verdad, no a través de los contenidos que ofrecen las operadoras, mediante navegadores de verdad. Esto ha pasado, por ejemplo, con el iPhone, que gracias a incluir el navegador Safari ofrece una navegación real. Las operadoras tendrán que abrirse a esta realidad si quieren seguir vendiendo móviles. No hay vuelta atrás, esto se está abriendo más y más.

P. Supongo que las operadoras lucharán por mantener ese control...

R. No tienen nada que hacer, van a perder. Se trata de un mercado, y no puedes imponerte al mercado ni a los usuarios. Tiene que suceder, no puedes parar a los usuarios que quieren acceder abiertamente a la Red. Lo han logrado con éxito durante años, pero todo está cambiando, en mi opinión.

P. ¿Cuál es su herramienta favorita?

R. (Pausa) No puedo nombrar una sola (se ríe), porque sería demasiado obvio decir que es Firefox 3. Creo que los sistemas operativos se están convirtiendo en algo irrelevante. Al final, puedo hacer lo mismo con Linux, con Windows o con Mac. un ejemplo claro es el Asus EeePC, que tiene Linux, y a la gente le encanta y lo usa, tiene conectividad, es básicamente un ordenador con un navegador... Para mí lo más importante, en realidad, es Internet. Por todas partes. En el móvil, en el portátil, en el ordenador de sobremesa. Por todas partes.

Here is the guide to completing it:

1. Talk to G. Choose any option. He explains the problem with the Clocks.
2. Click the moniter of the Snow Forts that G is pointing to. You will see the the Polar Bear and the Crab break the clock. Click the corner to exit the clock.
3. Talk to G again. Keep choosing the top option. He wants you to find the parts to repair the clock.
4. Go to the Gadget Room. Take the LifeGuard Rescue Tube off the shelf and put it in your inventory.
5. Use your map and go to the Dock. Talk to the penguins from the Blue team. Keep clicking the top options until they let you play to get back the target.
6. Here’s how you play: Click and hold the mouse until the bar goes up to the red zone. LET GO immediately when the bar is at the red zone. Then aim with your mouse and shoot at the target. Remember, the target is moving so click just a little bit ahead of where the target is going. And it takes longer for the snowball to travel the farther the penguin is from you.
7. Once you win, they’ll give you the target. Give them back the Rescue Tube so they can continue practicing.
8. Go to the HQ. Talk to G and tell him you need to use the Electromagnet 3000. He say’s the combination is ‘key’.
9. Go to the Invention Cabinet, which is left of the entrance to the Gadget Room. There is a code if you put your cursor on the bottom right of the screen. Decode the word ‘key’ to Secret Agent Code and input it into the lock.
10. The lock will open. Take out the Magnetron 3000. Now go to the Iceberg on your Map.
11. Go to the left until you see an spring-in-an-icecube floating in the ocean. Use the Magnetron to pull it out of the water. Put them both in your inventory.
12. Go to the HQ. Go to the Gadget Room. Place the ice cube on the Test Chamber. Pull the Red lever. Now Press the Flame button. Now pull the lever again, then pick up the Spring.
13. Go to the Town. Talk to Rookie. Then, ask him for a poster of the Prime Gear. Put it in your inventory.
14. Go to the Ski Village and talk to the penguins there. They explain how the type of snow matters. And the Snow Forts has the best.
15. Go to the Snow Forts and fill the green bucket up with snow.
16. Go to the Beach and talk to the yellow penguin on the chair. He say’s he gave a yellow puffle a drawing of a chair and the puffle made the chair for him. Pick up the green bucket next to him that’s on the ground.
17. Use your map and go to the Plaza. Go into the Pizza Parlor.
18. Take the sheet of music on the floor next to the piano.
19. Exit the Pizza Parlor. And go into the Stage. Click on the piano at the Stage. Put the sheet of music on the piano stand. Play the colored notes in the order it says on the music sheet (read from left to right). The yellow puffle will love it and come out of hiding!
20. Now give the puffle the picture of the gear. Then give it the bucket of snow. It’ll construct a replica Gear. Place the Gear in your inventory.
21. Now go back to the Gadget Room in the HQ.
22. Place the Gear on the Test Chamber. Pull the lever. Push the snowflake button. The pull the lever again. Take out the hardened Gear.
23. Go to the Snow Forts one more time. Now click on the Snow Forts Clock to get behind it. Place the Gear in the middle, the Spring on the upper left, and the Target on the outside (on top of the pole). Now exit the Clock.
24. The Construction worker will cheer. You will get a call on your spyphone from the Polar Bear! He says He underestimated you but destroying the Clock Tower was just a distraction for his Grand Master Plan. Then he says “Until next time!” and hangs up. Uh-oh!

To add the "Fave This Blog" button to my blog, I went to my Technorati account and clicked "[Edit]" (you will be on the "My Account" page). Then I went on to:

• Click "Blogs" tab
• Click
• Scroll down to code. Highlight and right click to copy the code.
• Paste it into a "Text" Widget (in Wordpress "Design").
• Click "Save Changes.

To add RSS Feed Options ("Chicklets") to my blog, I logged in at Feedburner and clicked "My Feeds" in the upper left hand corner. I then went on to:

• Click my blog name in the "Feed Title."
• Click the "Publicize" tab.
• Scroll down to "Chicklet Chooser" on the left menu of Services.
• Choose the "Chicklet" ...(code appears).
• Right click and highlight the code; paste it into a "Text" Widget (in Wordpress "Design") .
• Click "Save."

To add a Social Media bookmarking and sharing application button, I went to AddThis . I then went on to:

• Open an account.
• Click (do not enter a blog type.)
  

• Choose the button.
• Cut and paste the top code (in the box) into a "Text" Widget (in Wordpress "Design") .
• Click "Save."

To add a Digg button to a blog post, I went to Wordpress FAQs. I then went on to:

• Register the blog post at Digg.com (clicking "Submit New" in the upper right-hand corner).
• Enter URL for the blog post, click "News Article" and click "Continue."
• Enter Title and Description
• Choose Topic and "Submit Story."
• Click "Totally Original, I Swear."
• Click "My Profile" (upper right-hand corner).
• Click on the "1 digg" button; copy the URL.
• Paste URL into blog post--and put [digg=insert URL] around URL.
• Click "Save."

To Digg this post (for example) using the "Add This" button, click (the button is also on the right-hand column of this blog) and then click on the Digg link on the right column of the pop-up page (see copy of page below).

It had a monitor that showed text and images in varying shades of green. It came with one 8 inch floppy disk game that would add variations of super-pixilated hair, noses, eyes, eyebrows and mouths to a character’s face and asked me what changes were made to the face… yup, super exciting stuff and remember, this all happened in varying shades of green. I coveted this game:

Oregon Trail was so cool and I was jealous of anyone with home access to play; I mean, just check out that use of color.

Fortunately for me, Maine was surprisingly ahead of its time. Every school I was ever in when I grew up was outfitted with a huge computer lab and computer class was part of the curriculum even during my elementary school days. Our school system in Maine had a deal with Apple so we had access to cutting edge computers like:

And, even better, we had access (via Netscape) to the Web.

Finally, in 8th grade, my parents bought a Gateway and subscribed to America Online so we’d have access to the Web and, more importantly at the time, to freely instant message my friends on AIM (SN: amandam1623; 1623 because I was a total theater geek and 1623 was the year of the first printing of Shakespeare’s First Folio. Yeah, I was pretty cool.). Still, I use the word “access” quite loosely because it took us 20 minutes to dial up and even more to load a page with a lot of content. Watching video online was, as you’d imagine, out of the question.

My freshman year of college was really the year that I finally got fully connected to digital technology. I got my first cell phone (an old Nokia that, again, only showed varying shades of green), was connected via my dorm’s high-speed Ethernet connection and Wi-Fi in our classrooms and was persuaded to join Facebook 4 years ago when my R.A. told me and my dormmates on the first day of orientation that we HAD to try out this new site that just hit the Web. I was determined to rise above my laggard roots so I gave into peer pressure and built my first profile. I got a lot of pleasure from knowing that I was part of an exclusive network.

Four years later and my digital dorm room is worth $15 billion, I’m addicted to Twitter and blogging, I search for private beta invites on InviteShare, pay to have my apartment fully connected with WiFi, buy all of my music and movies from iTunes, get most of my news from blogs and memes, travel everywhere with my BlackBerry, iPod and laptop and have made it my job to teach my colleagues and clients about the latest developments in the digital world. Recently, I was at a conference live-tweeting my takeaways and very happily realized that I’ve crossed the chasm; I’ve fully graduated from laggard to total, steadfast geek.
