Przepraszam Was za dzisiejszą nieaktywność. Jesieni Linuksowej, no i zapomniałem o Was, Czytelnicy. :D

Zapraszam też do zobaczenia stronki 6. Jesieni.

Bo on jest jutro.

– To odpowiednio pierwsza – trzecia klasa, ci wyżsi to czwarta-szósta, a ci najwyżsi to siódma i ósma klasa.

O ile jeszcze mój rocznik pasował do moich podziałów – tzn. osoby wzrostem pasowały do wieku, to z roku na rok młodsze klasy były coraz niższe wzrostem...

Jeszcze z 3-4 lata i uwierzę w krasnoludki...

Bo to, co się dzieje jest nienormalne...

Something I had promised myself since the exams: Having no worries and relaxing with a book sounds easy, but it hasn't been like that for some reason. I guess you cant teach an old dog new tricks. Or can you? Well, I've been trying but the old ghosts don't completely leave. I'll continue to fight it though...stay open and airy, not close an stale. At any rate, some of the promise was fulfilled. The ghosts didn't battle, they just seemed to dissipate. It gets easier.

I've enjoyed Tanah Rata: Stayed at Father's Hostel on the hill, ate a lazy steamboat, did some trekking, met a cool comedian bloke called Wade, an English girl called Dawn, and Australian girl called Elle and her friend Olay and two Swedish girls who saved my bag.

Got a bit homesick but I must keep my promise. Carpe Diem. I wont lose.

Steep, sweaty, out of breath and hot. Narrow path ever up, roots form natural steps. Foot-holes well worn. Insects singing, individual laves dance on their branches, sunbeams breaking through the canopy. Ant columns on the march, feasting on a caterpillar and moving fungus.

The summit brings views of the mountain shrouded in mist. The sun beats down on the clearing. Wayward down, mercifully cool. Slippery, steep, concentrate no finding a safe foothold to tread. Across a stream and up a near vertical mud wall. A waterfall brings cooling air, a rush of water-the sound sudden as I turn the corner. Upon reaching it I could gaze for hours, at peace, watchin the water drape over the rocks. Mountain height: 6000ft. Steamboat for dins and don't forget the tea! Tofu and taste! Could be a money-maker!

Winding roads and occasional wooden huts and shelters lead up and up into the lush green hills. Spectacular drops and even more spectacular views. Tanah Rata of the Cameron Highlands is the next stop: a streets-worth of shop sand smiles again.

Upon our hill, the stars decorate the sky as the beauty of the trees fades from sight. The cool (and contextually cold) air replaces the hot, thick smog and the constant rumble of cars gives way to the song of a thousand tiny insects. Our Swedish friend from KL turns up and teaches us 'shit-hole'. Right now though, the crickets will serenade me to sleep.

A wait to visit the viewing bridge of the Petronas Twin Towers was spent shopping for local music and chillin' with the rewards. From the viewing bridge, Kuala Lumpur could be seen nestling between lush green hills; the modern architectural marvels not yet dominating the skyline as London or New York might but seemingly living in tandem with the natural beauty. Hundreds of thousands of people all going about their personal experiences before my eyes. All experiencing life in a similar way that I could if I were behind their eyes. Mine, and the experiences of the people I know just a minute drop in the ocean. I wish I could experience life as all of them not to mention those in Singapore, Melaka and no doubt in the other places I'll see as well as those that I'll never see. All of this just confirms that there is no point trying to learn from everybody and just be myself whilst taking an interest and understanding the ways others do things. That should keep me one step ahead as not many people give an arse about understanding others...well...unless money is involved.

Back to the city streets where the air is hot and thick with smog and the traffic imposing and single-minded. This, I could not cope with for long despite loving the buzz of the city. Overall, Kuala Lumpur is exhausting, loud and very warm. However, I love the cramped bustle of the night markets, novel (to me) nightlife and endless people-watching experiences possible.

It'll be nice to get up to the Cameron Highlands where the air is cool and laid back. I think cities make me think too much! However, the contrast between the harmonious thoughts of the Tower and the imposing smog at ground level is odd. Perhaps the harmony will not stay for long.

The second bloke was even nicer. We sat down with him at a roadside drinks stall: We talked about Melaka and Malaysia, and Melaka's cultural diversity (Malays, Dutch, Portuguese - some were at the stall, Indians, Chinese). We drunk a sweet Indian drink called Cendol (pronounced Chendol) made from long green bits made from rice flower, ice, kidney beans, coconut milk. It was really sweet. We then left and he paid for our drinks! We were walking his way and he said we should visit him in Kuala Lumpur if we visit again! He lives near the airport and beach and is just here for a while.

We also saw Istana Kesultanan (a rebuilt Malay palace). It's entirely made of wood and the original used no nails! Here, it said Malaka was founded when a regal blokie on the run had his dog kicked in the river by a white Mouse-Deer when he was resting...

The thing most striking about Melaka is it's heritage: The dutch, Portuguese and British have conquered it so there are the Dutch graveyard, Portuguese Church and rebuilt trading ship, Dutch buildings etc. A colonial feel to a tropical place with a muddy, typically Asian river running through it. Today, I bought two cool shirts (white and beige) and an off-white top for about 4 quid each! Later we are going to sample some Nonya food (Nonya food is made by descendants of the Chinese workers who married Malaysian women - They developed their own culture.)
