L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lip Gloss

CG Outlast All Day Lipcolor

It seems as though all the cosmetic lines have their own lipstick and gloss that boasts hours of lasting color. When I saw commercials for them, I thought it was BS and didn't believe it at all. (Especially the part where the model wipes her mouth on a white napkin and shows us how none of her lipstick came off.)  I first tried the lipstick and bought Covergirl Outlast All Day Lipcolor and I love it because it actually does last all day likes it advertises.  Its two separate tubes, the lip color and a solid clear topcoat.  The first time I ever wore it was on a trip from Portland (Oregon) to Tennessee; I put it on in the morning and it was still on about eight hours later when I landed in Tennessee.  All I had to do was reapply the topcoat throughout the day after meals or if my lips felt dry. I think it's definitely worth the ten or so dollars I paid for it.

Even though the CG Outlast worked like it said it would, I didn't believe the ads about the long-wear lip glosses.  I figured there was no way a gloss could last though a couple hours of doing nothing but talking, much less eating or drinking. So I decided to put it to the test: I bought the two most popular long-wear lip glosses--Covergirl Outlast Double Lipshine and L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lip Gloss--to see which one worked best, if either worked at all.  Here's what I found out...

I first tried the Infallible, which is a one-step liquid gloss. I chose a shimmery mauve color out of the sixteen shades they offer.  Its a little sticky when you first get it on so its best to avoid going out into any wind until it dries to keep from having your hair stuck to your lips.  Within an hour, the glossy shine that was there when I first applied it had basically gone away--even without having had anything touch my lips.  The color was still there some, but the gloss had faded into tiny dried glitter. I had to reapply about every hour or so to keep a glossy look. On a scale of 1-5, Infallible receives a 2 at best.

CG Outlast Double Lip shine is a two-step application with a liquid lip color at one end and a clear liquid gloss at the other. I chose a hot pink-purple color out of the twenty shades they offer.  The lip color is matte and only takes a few seconds to dry, to which you then apply the gloss. The lip color lasted all day, however the gloss fades within a couple hours, given you do not eat or drink. Once you reapply the gloss it livens up the color as though you had just put it on.  I decided that this product isn't much different than the CG Outlast All Day Lipcolor in that they are both a two-step color that works with a gloss to freshen them up throughout the day.  The difference is the Double Lipshine has a liquid gloss instead of a solid clear top coat like the All Day Lipcolor. On a scale of 1-5, I give it a 4 since the color at least lasted all day.

The folks at L'Oréal are a pretty unhappy bunch at the moment. The world's largest cosmetics and beauty company has just been slapped with a lawsuit with claims that it knowingly sold products with potentially carcinogenic chemicals and false advertising in South America and Europe. To top the cherry off, the charges come from one of their own! Jerome Chevallier is the former regulatory affairs director for L'Oréal, who says he was fired after expressing his concerns to his superiors. As expected, L'Oréal refuses to comment on the details of the case.

According to New York, the detailed allegations are as follows:

• Maybelline products that went to South America contained dibutyl phthalate, a potential carcinogen.
• L'Oréal sold products in Europe that contained a refrigerant.
• The company sold a deodorant containing Tricolsan (also banned for being an anti-microbial agent), even though they released statements saying they would no longer use the chemical.
• Products in Europe contained unlawful levels of Kathon CG, a preservative linked to dermatitis, and information about this was removed from the company computer system.
• The company marketed PureOlogy products as "100 percent vegan," when they contained animal-derived ingredients.
• The chemicals used in these claims are not banned in the U.S.

Investors hopped off the "Because you're worth it" train, as L'Oréal saw their stocks drop. Additionally, L'Oréal has cut its sales-growth outlook from 6-8 percent, to just 6 percent. I'm sure we're all crying for the evil corporation.

L'Oreal HiP Intrepid

...L'Oreal HiP Shocking Shadow Pigments.  This high intensity pigment eye shadow comes in a small container with a sifter and its own professional applicator brush.  There are 12 shimmery shades to choose from and can be worn alone or mixed together to create your own hue.  My favorite shade is Intrepid (see photos), which is a mix of two sparkling powders in olive green and dark plum.  When applied, the two shades blend together creating an iridescent look on your lids; different lighting and angles will highlight each of the colors. The great thing about this shadow is that you can determine the intensity of the color by how much or little you apply. I wear Intrepid lightly to accentuate my green eyes and or I apply it heavier when I'm going for a dramatic smokey-eye look.

"Mascara. Does anyone know of a truly water and smear proof mascara? I used to use Marathon, which required cold cream to get it off, but never melted on me. I have tried about five different brands of waterproof mascara since they took Marathon off the market, but all of them smear within the hour."

I remember good ol' Marathon Mascara! "Marathon looks just put on until you take it off!" Such a nice jingle!

Although I like the idea of using a waterproof mascara, I have shied away from them because of the industrial-strength stiff lashes that result, and how difficult it can be to remove.

I have been using and would highly recommend trying a really nice "middle-weight" mascara:

I have found that this mascara offers both staying power and adds great volume without feeling stiff and being impossible to remove. I have had no smudging issues while using this, but I also live in a very dry climate. For $14.00, it is definitely at a more affordable price than some prestige makeup brand mascaras. It can easily be removed with warm water or your eye makeup remover.

My friend Jami at Bionic Beauty swears by Physicians Formula's Mineral Wear Mascara. Unfortunately this is not made in a waterproof formula. I love tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes! The color that I am reviewing today is from the mauves section of colors and it is called Modern Mauve. I really like this color, it is a dark cool pink with lots of shimmer in it. For me this is very much a YLBB (Your Lips But Better) color. My lips are naturally dark pink, so this color just perfect for upping the wow factor of my normal color.

I wear this shade on a daily basis, because it's such a natural color on me. I also refer to this color when I wear dark purple eyeshadow because it is light enough not to take the attention away from the eyes, but it also gives my lips a little something extra, without it being too obvious.

L'Oreal states that this gloss lasts through 6 hours of normal wear, which in my opinion is a bunch of bull, this gloss does NOT last that long. However, this gloss lasts a pretty good couple of hours after you let it set in. I think one of the main problems many people have had with this product is that they do not allow it enough time to set on the lips. For me it takes between 5-10 minutes with two coats on my lips before it is completely dried. While it is setting, the gloss is very sticky, and it can be wiped off very easily. I discovered this little problem the first few times I applied this gloss. I also had a couple of instances where I got some on my teeth, but it wasn't a major problem.

Final Thoughts: I think this is a great lipgloss, the color is awesome for both day and night time looks. It's very pigmented, and I tend to wear this alone without a lipstick beneath it. I do however wear a SPF lipbalm under it though. This gloss doesn't live up to it's name, but for a long lasting lippie that is only one step, this is a great buy! I highly recommend it!

Essa é uma ação de lançamento de uma nova fragrância do desodorante Axe da Unilever, o Axe Vice, no site da campanha você encontra a história de uma aluninha CDF, comportadinha(dai a conotação de santinha), que passou apagada durante alguns anos do colegial, foi visitar a fazenda da tia no interior, encontrou uma prima que não via há anos e o desenrolar da história acaba em uma mansão já na cidade. A história e o site são bem ilustrados e possuem muitas fotos das duas, mas o melhor é a opção de acompanhar as duas numa espécie de big brother. Let me explain.  This is the best product ever for those of us who still dye our hair at home (don't judge me, Lisa).  It is ammonia-free and makes your hair all super shiny.  It comes in great colors.  It isn't permanent.  It can go over regular hair dye.  It is amazing.

And it has pretty much been discontinued.  This makes me cry all day.  So M and I are stockpiling because people are selling it on ebay and amazon and stuff.  I bought 4 boxes each of lively auburn and funky cherry.  M just purchased 7 of the red pulse.  I will probably buy another 7 of red pulse this very afternoon.

Obsession?  Perhaps.  But my hair looks better than yours.  And I plan on keeping it that way.

1. Bissell Pet Hair Eraser. WOW. I bought this sucker last night and vacuumed my hallway and one rug. The canister had to be emptied 3 times on the hallway carpet alone. I only vacuumed over the rug once, but by the end of that take, the canister was full again. My other vacuum cleaner, the Eureka Optima, and my former vacuum cleaner, the Hoover WindTunnel, didn't pick up near as much dirt...or PET HAIR! I am extremely impressed with the BPHE's ability to scoop up so much hair from the carpet and leave my carpets noticably cleaner. It's incredible. A+ for the BPHE!

2. Oster Fusion Blender. This thing is the king of blenders. It is about as loud as an airplane hovering over your house, but this machine means business. With presets for things like blended drinks, making a smoothie or frozen cocktail is as simple as pushing a button. Blending nicely would be enough for me, but this fancy shmancy blender doubles as a food processor. I haven't tried those settings yet, but I'm sure it'll be as impressive as the chopped ice in the blended drinks. I give you an A+, Oh Oster Fusion Blender.

3. Loreal Color Vive Shampoo and Conditioner. Recently, I had my hair cut and colored by an incredible hair stylist, Cindy Bingman (Illusions Salon and Day Spa in Belle Meade). I let her have almost free creative reign on my locks, and the result is pretty much my favorite hair cut and color ever. To take care of the color treatment, I decided to purchase some shampoo and conditioner for such hair. While I would prefer to go the salon route, I opted for a cheaper product, Loreal Color Vive. I can't really tell how great a job it's doing preserving the color and making it last longer, but this stuff makes my hair shine like there's no tomorrow. I'll give it an A... it might not be the best there is, but it's pretty good for a non-salon product.

4. ARTEC Textureline Texture Paste. Again, to go with my hair cut, I needed something that has great hold capabilities while still allowing movement. Cindy used this paste on my hair after she cut it, but I didn't rush out to buy it. However, immediately after my first try at styling my new 'do, I realized I would need something special to hold my hair back out of my eyeballs. I just purchased the texture paste a couple days ago, and I can already tell a huge difference in my hair...it stays put! You get an A+, Mr. Paste.

5. My husband. Okay, okay, it's a little cheesey. I don't really care. I just need to say that Justin is a great husband. Sure we get in our share of arguments from time to time, but he has put up with my crap and become more attentive to cleaning things around the house, and I'm grateful for that. I'm a control freak with a major craving for perfection, and I'm not always easy to live with. But, Justin understands and works with me so that we can maintain a happy and healthy marriage. Not everyone is so lucky. You surpass grading, husband. You're that good.

Uh, let's see what I've been up to these past few days...

• Studying - more like CRAMMING not only for the trials but for 2 assessment tasks coming up :(
• Movies! I went to see Kung Fu Panda. LOL, any movie with Jack Black in it = FANTASTIC! My brother LOVED it! He kept quoting short random lines.
• Ctaching up on a few missed episodes of TV shows I watch. Haha, I should just do a post where I list every TV show I watch EVERY week!

The colors are broken up into four different groups, pinks, nudes, reds and mauves. There are four colors in each group, so there is something for everyone! The colors I own right now are, raisin, fiery, dulche de leche, modern mauve, blush, and rebel red. I plan on doing individual reviews of each color, because I feel that each gloss looks and feels differently from the others, so it would be unfair to do an umbrella review of all of them.

What I liked:
- hair was shiny, soft, manageable and tangle-free
- the smell
- the packaging

What I didn't like:
- I honestly can't think of anything

I started using this conditioner years ago when my hair was long and I used to dye it, which made it so unmanageable and I needed a product that would leave my hair soft and tangle-free. I love it so much that, even though the conditioner is aimed at people with mid to long hair, I keep using it even now that my hair is short and I've gone back to my natural color and my hair is not ruined by the dye anymore.

The product comes in a very appealing pink bottle and the conditioner itself is pink and almost iridescent. It is creamy and quite light, not too thick or heavy. You only need a small amount and is easy to rinse out.

I found the conditioner detangled my hair very well and I had no problem running a comb through it, which is often a struggle for me as my hair has a tendency to get rather knotty and tangled. My hair was also smoother than usual and soft.

I was also impressed by how shiny my hair was. I have used the conditioner with different shampoos and my hair was always shiny, but it was even shiner when I used the matching shampoo as they both contain pearl proteins and micro-shine reflectors that bounce light off the hair's surface to amplify shine.

The smell of the product is very pleasant, sweet but not overpowering. Your hair is left with a lovely smell.

Summary:
Overall, I love this product. It leaves my hair soft, shiny, tangle free and so easy to manage. In addition, it smell lovely and the packaging is cute too.
