Gedenkjahr 2009, was fällt uns bei diesem Titel ein? Wer kein Südtirol oder Tirol-Kenner ist, wird lange raten. Denn es handelt sich um ein Jubiläum der Tiroler Freiheitskämpfe, die vor zweihundert Jahren stattgefunden haben. Wer die Tiroler kennt, weiß, wie sehr sie noch an ihre Geschichte denken. Die Freiheitskämpfe wurden gegen Napoleon und seine Verbündeten Bayern und Sachsen organisiert und eine der Schlachten am Bergisel in Innsbruck, am 13. August 1809 wurde unter der Führung des Psairers Andreas Hofer tatsächlich gewonnen. Es sei erwähnt, dass sehr motivierte, jedoch nicht kampferfahrene Bauern gegen ein Heer von Soldaten kämpfte! Der Erfolg hielt zwar nicht lange an, doch dieses Ereignis zog zum Beispiel auch den Brauch der Herz Jesu Feuer mit sich, die immer noch alljährlich im Juni in Südtirol auf den Bergen erscheinen.

Die Kulturlandesräte Tirols, sei es in Nord-Ost- und Südtirol organisieren nun obengenanntes Gedenkjahr, das seit heute auch mit einem Online- Gewinnspiel „syndrome 09“ gespickt ist. Jede Altersgruppe soll in das Geschehen miteinbezogen werden und vor allem die Fragen: „Woher kommen wir? Wo stehen wir? Wo gehen wir hin?“ sollen auf konstruktive Weise erörtert werden.

Geplant sind viele Studien, Medienprojekten und Veranstaltungen, in Südtirol und im Bundesland Tirol. Dafür hat man nicht nur verschiedene Institutionen beider Länder gewonnen, sondern auch die unzähligen Kulturellen und traditionellen Vereine und Verbände animieren können, mit eigenen Projekten und Veranstaltungen das Programm des Gedenkjahres 2009 zu beleben.

Die Südtiroler Landesrätin für Kultur Sabina Kasslatter Mur ist erfreut über die perfekte Zusammenarbeit der Landesämter in Innsbruck mit jenen in Bozen. Na, da wollen wir mal hoffen, dass auch das zusammen Feiern angenehm wird!

Es sind drei an der Zahl: In der Maria Theresienstraße ( Do, 27. November 2008 bis 6. Jänner 2009 täglich 11:00 Uhr bis 20:30 Uhr) , am Marktplatz (15. November bis 23. Dezember 2008, 10.30 bis 20.30 Uhr geöffnet) und in der Altstadt von Innsbruck ( Fre, 21.11. bis So, 28.12.2008, 11:00-20:30 Uhr, 24.12. 11:00-15:00 Uhr, 25.12. geschlossen) spielt sich das weihnachtliche Marktleben insgesamt vom 15. November bis 6. Jänner 2008 ab. Im Norden etwas früher als in Südtirol und dafür noch ausgiebiger zelebriert. Wenn das überhaupt geht ;-). Während am Marktplatz zwei Rentiere auf die Besucher warten, die Maria Theresienstraße zum ersten Mal adventlich herausgeputzt wird, werden in der Altstadt zwei Gassen zur Märchenwelt umgestaltet. An den Christkindlmarkt vor dem goldenen Dachl erinnere ich mich schon, seit ich denken kann. Und ich empfinde ihn und den in Nürnberg oder München als Urväter unserer zahlreichen Weihnachtsmärkte in Südtirol. Sie haben auch ihre Anziehungskraft, das kann man nicht leugnen, und sie dienen Anbietern von Unterkunft und Restaurants für den nötigen Aufschwung in der sonst eher ruhigen Zeit. Außerdem, wer zuhause keine adventliche Stimmung aufbringen kann, wird an diesen Orten ein "paar" Inputs erhalten...oder schnell wieder die Ruhe suchen :-).

Tyrol jest regionem geograficznym położonym w zachodniej Austrii i północnych Włoszech. W Austrii jest to główny region turystyczny pełen uzdrowisk oraz ośrodków sportów zimowych. Stolicą Tyrolu jest Innsbruck. Jest to miasto położone na wysokości niemal 550 m n.p.m. nad rzeką Inn. Niedaleko stąd do słynnej przełęczy Brenner, przez którą przebiega autostrada do Włoch. Innsbruck to bez wątpienia jedna z zimowych stolic Europy. Właśnie tutaj w 1964 roku i 12 lat później zorganizowano Igrzyska Olimpijskie. W mieście warto zobaczyć zamek cesarski Hofburg. Obiekt został zbudowany w XIV wieku i pełnił funkcję rezydencyjną. Jest tu również „Goldenes Dahl"- złoty dach. Jest to jedna z najlepiej zachowanych kamieniczek w całej Austrii. Dziś w miejscu tym znajduje się Muzeum Olimpijskie. Warto przypatrzeć się prześlicznej kamienicy bo robi naprawdę ogromne wrażenie. Innsbruck to wspaniała baza wypadowa w góry. Miejsce wyjątkowe. Śliczne pensjonaty położone nad Innem. Urzekające krajobrazy dookoła nas. Warto tu przysiąść w któreś z knajpek przy Goldenes Dahl i oddać się przyglądaniu albo podglądaniu ulicznego życia w niezwykle zadbanym Innsbrucku.

Do Austrii całkiem nam niedaleko więc może warto wziąć kraj pod uwagę zastanawiając się dokąd wybrać się na wakacyjny urlop. A miejsce dobre jest zarówno na letni jak i zimowy wypoczynek. Latem idealne do wypraw w góry, zimą by poszusować na nartach. Zapraszam więc w drogę. Przejedźmy tylko przez Niemcy a znajdziemy się w niewielkim, bo o powierzchni nieco większej niż 80 000 km2 kraju, któremu brak dostępu do morza nie przeszkadza w przyciąganiu turystów. Kraj podzielony jest na 9 landów. Austrię zamieszkuje ponad 8 milionów ludzi. Stolica- Wiedeń- położona we wschodniej części kraju, zamieszkana jest przez ponad 1,5 miliona mieszkańców. Inne większe miasta to Graz, Linz, Salzburg i Innsbruck. Najwyższym szczytem kraju jest słynny Grossglockner o wysokości 3797 m n.p.m. Ów szczyt wznosi się powyżej znanego lodowca Pasterze, w którym grubość lodu wynosi około 300 m. Najniżej położone jest znajdujące się między Austrią a Węgrami jezioro Nezyderskie. Zbiornik ten często określa się mianem „wiedeńskiego morza". Uprawia się tu windsurfing oraz żeglarstwo. Jezioro przyciąga tysiące turystów. Jest wielką turystyczną atrakcją, która wpisana została na Listę Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO. W Austrii zobaczymy również Dunaj i położone u podnóża Alp ogromne Jezioro Bodeńskie. Możemy dotrzeć też do kilku parków narodowych. Poza wspomnianym PN Jeziora Nezyderskiego jest jeszcze PN Wysokie Taury z pięknym alpejskim krajobrazem, jednocześnie najwyższa część Alp Austriackich oraz PN Łęgi Naddunajskie stanowiący zbiór największych tego typu obszarów w Europie Środkowej.
Zwiedzać można więc ile dusza zapragnie...

Das Appartement Top 1 befindet sich  im Osten und erstreckt sich über zwei Ebenen mit einer Gesamt-Wohnnutzfläche von 129 m2.

The Social Theory Research Network is one of 31 research networks of the European Sociological Association. It has approximately 200 active members. Whereas the other research networks’ task is to deal with specialized subfields of sociology, the mission of the Social Theory Network is to develop “concepts of orientation and outlining what can be called ‘conditional ontologies’ giving social research conceptual background”.

The research network’s Social Theory Conference on “Social Theory and the Sociological Discipline(s)” took place at the Innsbruck School of Political Science and Sociology on September 11-13, 2008. Organizer Frank Welz formulated the basic questions of the conference in the opening session: What is the role of transdisciplinarity in sociology? Is there still a general framework or discourse in sociology? Is a common or unified sociology possible? Is a common vocabulary possible or can it be developed?

Roland Robertson gave the main plenary talk, which covered the topic “Glocality and the Transdisciplinarity of Sociology”. Robertson is one of the sociologists that have coined the term globalization. His specific interpretation is that globalization processes are always accompanied by local adaptations and changes (localization). Therefore he speaks of glocalization. Robertson argued that sociology in a way has always been transdisciplinary and a meta-discipline because it covers various issues, which are subject of other disciplines, in their societal context. The intensified glocalization of the world would have brought about a need to overcome disciplinary fragmentation and to enter into a transdisciplinary dialogue in order to understand global society.

Besides Robertson’s call for a transdisciplinary sociology and the overall task of the conference, most of the presented papers dealt with very specialized topics that are relevant for subfields of sociology and social theory, but ignored the larger context of sociology and society as a whole and the academic world as a whole. Therefore the impression one could get was that many of the participants aim at a fragmentation of sociology into many different subfields such as gender sociology, economic sociology, sociology of education, sociology of law, urban sociology, political sociology, sociology of health, sociology of ethnic relations, racism and anti-Semitism, etc. Although specialization clearly is necessary in order to explain society, the question of how all these phenomena have become connected and are united on a meta-level, which is important for explaining what many now see as a global society, in which all phenomena have become networked and influence each other, should not be ignored. Social theory is a terrain that can deal with these questions.

The study of ICTs and society might be a paradigmatic case for the emergence of and the need for transdisciplines in the "global network society". In my talk on “Critical Social Theory in the Age of the Internet”, I pointed out that the very topic of ICT&S research, the interrelationship of ICTs and society, social groups, and individuals, is one that cannot be studied by one discipline alone, but that requires the engagement of scholars from at least sociology, philosophy, media and communication science, and computer science. The subject matter of ICT&S is transdisciplinary in itself, it transcends the boundaries between the social and the engineering sciences.

Why is social theory important? Social theory produces a constitutive knowledge of the world that allows asking basic questions about the state of society and about the directions it could develop. The immanent diversity of social theory allows researchers and citizens to develop different understandings and different issues of society and to see how not only knowledge, but also interests are differing. Social theory allows us to ask new questions about the world and to use basic categories for developing understandings of the world. Social theory offers understandings and interpretations of society, social change, and societal causality. Social theory directs attention to certain issues and can help people organizing their experiences of the world and enabling useful responses to the world. Social theory in a transdisciplinary field like ICT&S allows making use of a contextual meta-knowledge about the relation of ICTs and society. People are trying to find ways of thinking about the world and its changes (such as the emergence of the Internet, globalization, etc) and ways of how to build the future of the world. Social theory can guide us in asking questions and trying to find potential answers about the state of the world.

Two sessions at the Innsbruck conference dealt with the role of critical theory in contemporary society. In my opinion critical social theory is necessary today in order to not remain fixed on knowledge that shows how society is, but deals with potential alternatives and how society could be. Critical theory therefore would be inherently normative, political, and would deal with basic questions of domination and power in society. In a transdisciplinary field like ICT&S, critical theory would be needed as complement and correction to empirical research, engineering, and design studies, because the latter three would typically operate in an instrumental way that is corrupted by dominant interests so that the focus is on technological rationality, technological fixes to societal problems, uncritical optimism about the potentials of technology for society, and economic and dominant political interests. Critical theory would remind us that there are huge problems in contemporary society, that technology alone is no solution, but frequently part of the problems, and that there is a need for imagining alternative futures, which requires a more philosophical meta-knowledge that engages with political questions.

Overall, the Innsbruck conference has shown that critical thinking and transdisciplinarity are important issues of contemporary sociology. But these issues are facing problems in their realization, talking about transdisciplinarity is in most cases easier than practicing it. Nonetheless a first starting point for alternative futures, also in academia, is a reflexive discussion about issues, which has taken place in Innsbruck.

Welcome to Innsbruck.

Carved in the middle of the Alps, there it is. Breathtaking view, no matter where you look: my beloved snowy mountains are all the way around!

I've heard more than once from different people (ok mostly germans) that Innsbruck has more of the austrian feel than Vienna. Vienna is more about art, and architecture, and music hopefully (don't get me wrong here, Vienna must be so great to visit...). Innsbruck is more about... Tirol! Oh yeah, cheese, and weird accent no matter if you're speaking Italian, German, or whatever, and smoked ham, and typical clothes, and a grey river, and flowers...

One thing that makes Innsbruck pretty awesome is the fact that it's the only european historic city with a ski resort, all-in-one. It's just the kind of offer you don't see everyday through the glass windows of your favorite store! MAKE SURE, then, to drop by in the WINTER. Not like me. Dumb, dumb me.

This time you got me: I wasn't alone. In fact I really don't know if it would be a good idea to visit Innsbruck alone, anyone would probably get bored quite fast. At least, was my humble starter-traveler impression.
Well, you can get bored rather quickly if you travel alone to anywhere, but that's a subject for another post. I'll remember this issue, don't worry.

Aahh! It may be a good idea to avoid the surroundings of the Swarovski dealer, downtown, if you have sisters and mothers and perhaps girlfriends in the perimeter. Man, they can spend their whole lives inside there!!?

Phew, now I can finish, needed a bit of cheap humor.

Tavasz vége felé, amikor még nagyban nem tudtam, hogy mi lesz az életemmel nyártól, ősztől, felmerült a jövőre nézve C és D terveknek keresztelve egy olyan verzió, hogy kikaccsintgatunk-költözgetünk Innsbruckba. Őszintén szólva, lelkesebben támogattam az A és B terveket (Szeged, ill. Bécs), de olyan dallamos-kedves tiszta tiroli csengése van ennek a városnévnek, és valami megmagyarázhatatlan módon vonzott a gondolat, és rögtön kisebbfajta kutatómunkát eszközöltem az interneten. A bötűk okozta entellektüel élményeken túl, "hiszem, ha látom", íróasztalom mögül nagyok pislogva, jól meg-googleearth-öztem a célállomást. Háromezer láb magasságból szerettem bele, szerelem volt ez első virtuális madártávlatból. Völgyben elnyúló város, színes házak, egyetemi város, Inn folyó - de tényleg nem tudom, mi fogott meg benne.

Életeink úgy alakultak Martinnal, hogy az A és B tervek szövetséget kötöttek egyelőre, ebből következően, nem költöztünk Innsbruckba (hát, mondjuk, annak jelentős nyoma is lenne a blogbejegyzésekben...) A múlt hétvégi tiroli kiruccanás alkalmával viszont testközelből láthattam szívem szép városát. Igaz, csak egy délelőttöt töltöttünk el, és az sem turistavezetéssel egybekött informálódás volt, csak, hát, mint az első randi. Rövid, magunkban ujjongós, meg reménykedős, hogy hátha, hátha, megfogja a kezem... :)

Azt ugyan nem tudom, hogy mikor látom megint, meg hogy felhív-e valaha, de ha nagy leszek, és arra is visz az élet, akkor kedvem lenne szorosabbra fűzni a kapcsolatot. Tessenek osztozni ebben a vizuális jouissance-ban. Felülről:

És természetesen, amint kiköltözöm, mindenkit nagyon nagy szerettel és szívesen látogatóba elvárok. :)

Laut Ermittlungen stellte die Polizei fest, dass es sich um dasselbe Pärchen handelt die vor kurzem auch am Innsbrucker Hauptbahnhof für Aufsehen gesorgt haben.

Diese angeblich nicht im nüchternen Zustand waren.

Das Pärchen muss sich nun wegen Verdachts öffentlicher geschlechtlichen Handlungen vor Gericht verantworten.

To spectate at the Olympic Games has always been a dream. Last week this dream came true. Part of the team who has been working for the Innsbruck 2012 bid was going to Beijing for a couple of days: to see and to learn form the big games was the goal.

Feeling the athmosphere in the national stadium, watching one of my favorite sport (athletics!) was really amazing.

Especially when seeing it from an  athlete’s point of view I know what it takes to get there and what it means to succeed in the right moment.

This experience felt like fuel for my dream: Vancouver 2010!

Ein positives Beispiel dafür, was gemeinsam erreichbar ist, findet sich in der Museumstraße: Dort gibt es einen Zugang direkt von der BTV-Tiefgarage in die Museumstraße.
Für die Planer des Gesamtprojekts ein kleines Detail, für die Handelsbetriebe in der Museumstraße aber ein sehr wichtiges.

Ja, ja.... die Innsbrucker haben es begriffen.... die halbe Stadt ist mit tollen Aufklebern bestückt!
