<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Se você espera um post tipo aqueles que traçam o começo meio e fim dos videogames, então pode desistir, esse post tratará de coisas totalmente diferentes.</p>
<p>Bom é incrível, hoje estava lembrando de personagens randômicos no mundo dos games, e estava pensando... Como os games conseguem ser tão randômicos assim? Como pode existir tantos personagens insanos e sem noção nos jogos? E pensar que tudo isso começou enquanto eu jogava o meu bom e velho Viva Piñata. Bom, eu não vou negar que sou excêntrico, isso seria hipocrisia, mas as vezes os jogos se superam. Quem nunca viu o bom e velho:<br />

Bom se você não conhece ele, então suma do blog, porque você não merece o direito de passear por aqui. Sério, suma. Feche a aba, dê control alt del duas vezes ou aperte alt F4 serião, muita sacanagem, como pode ser gamer, estar aqui e não ter nunca jogado Golden Axe?</p>
<p>Bom o personagem é insano, nem tenho que comentar, ele é o ladrãozinho de itens do Golden Axé. Ele é MUITO trash e FAIL. É incrível, eu não tenho palavras pra descrever ele. Anyways, não tenho palavras pra descrever Golden Axe.</p>
<p>Outro jogo com personagens incríveis é o bom e velho Earthbound. Se você não jogou esse também, então faça o favor de se afogar no seu vaso sanitário. Bom, enfim, o jogo em si é uma sátira à vida cotidiana. É divertido, e os inimigos são os melhores, aqui vai uma lista de todos eles (ressaltando o Abstract Art) <a href="http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/snes/eb/enemiesapril.shtml">clica eu</a> bom, não é uma critica, mas um elogio ao bom e velho tempo onde os jogos eram tão surreais quanto um retrato de arte surreal bem surrealista. Bons tempos quando a realidade não pesava mais do que a diversão e criatividade. Lógico que ainda existem jogos assim, hoje em dia mesmo, o próprio Viva Piñata é uma prova disso, e agora o novo Banjo. Os bons e velhos jogos da Rare... Ah Rare, como fico tranqüilo em saber que você existe. Mesmo assim, eu ainda gosto e amo os jogos com tons de realidade ou com super tramas, como Warcraft ou GTA, bom ai vai a gosto de cada um, gostaria de compartilhar mais com vocês os jogos randômicos que fizera minha infância, como Day of Tentacle, Full Throtte, Duken Nuken e companhia. Mas vou ficar só com esses dois, porque acho que ninguém precisa ter uma overdose de coisas randômicas aqui.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ich will mal ein paar Zeilen über ein Spiel loswerden, dass in den seligen Amiga 500 Zeiten zu meinen absoluten Lieblingen gehört hat - <strong>Golden Axe</strong>.</p>
<p>Als ich das Spiel damals zum ersten Mal ausprobiert habe, hatte es auch schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel. Immerhin ist es <strong>schon 1989 erschienen</strong>, und dürfte damals ein ziemlicher Kracher in den Spielhallen gewesen sein. Ich hatte es erst ein paar Jahre später in den Händen.</p>
<p>Das <strong>Spielprinzip ist ziemlich simpel</strong>: Man wählt eine von drei Spielfiguren aus - man hat die Wahl zwischen einem Conan-mäßigen Krieger, einem toughen Zwerg und einer Amazone - und die steuert man dann kämpfend durch die verschiedenen Level. Wesentlich witziger war es aber immer, gleich zu Zweit loszulegen, Seite an Seite gegen den Oberschurken Death Adder. Der Nachteil: Natürlich wollte jeder immer den äußerst kampfkräftigen Zwerg spielen :D.</p>
<p>Death Adder findet man erst am Ende des letzten Levels. Davor bewegt man sich, <strong>immer schön von links nach rechts, durch die dahinscrollenden scrollenden Level</strong> (=zurück nach links gibts nicht). Dabei begegnen einem <strong>unterschiedlichste Gegner, Söldner, Skelette, böse Ritter und allerlei anderes Gefrett</strong>. Die kann man aber nicht nur mit der Nahkampfwaffe niederprügeln, denn die Spielfiguren haben noch andere Tricks auf Lager. So kann man zB auch Anlauf nehmen und die Gegner per veritablem Body Check umwerfen. Oder man schnappt sich einen kleinen Feuerbälle spuckenden Drachen als Reittier und grillt damit seine Gegner. Und wenn es mal gar zu brenzlig wird, dann hat man noch immer die Möglichkeit, <strong>mächtige Magie auf das Schlachtfeld herabzurufen</strong>. Dann zucken Blitze vom Himmel herunter oder ein riesiger Drachenkopf senkt sich Feuer speihend herab.</p>
<p>Die nötige Energie für diese Spektakel bekommt man, indem man abends <strong>am Lagerfeuer kleine Gnome (oder Elfen?) tritt</strong>. Die lassen dann Power-Ups fallen, die man einsammeln kann. Sehr schräg eigentlich ^^. Hier brilliert übrigens die Amazone, die zwar am wenigsten Wumms hinter ihren normalen Schlägen hat, aber dafür die wirkungsvollste Kampfmagie beherrscht.</p>
<p>Wir haben damals dieses Game unzählige Male durchgespielt und viel Spaß gehabt. Wahrlich einer meiner liebsten Klassiker, an den ich mich gerne zurück erinnere. Wer sich jetzt noch am PC ansehen will, wie das damals ausgesehen hat (oder es schon kennt und einen nostalgischen Anflug hat), <a href="http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/7/Golden+Axe.html" target="_blank">kann sich <strong>auf Abandonia eine PC-version runterladen</strong></a>. Dosbox ist Pflicht!</p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial;">Todavía sin fecha concreta, y eso que estaba anunciado para Agosto de este año, mi opinión es que este juego se ira para el año que viene, ya que juegos muy posteriores a este (recordemos que Golden Axe: Beast Rider se anuncio en el 2006) ya tienen su fecha para este mismo año, y de este juego hemos visto muy pocos videos.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial;">Aunque poco se ha mostrado de este juego, de echo solo se han mostrado dos videos ingame, algo bastante raro cuando de otros juegos como MadWorld ya hemos visto los mismos y saldrá el año que viene.</span></p>

En este trailer puedes ver ha algunas de las bestias que te serviran para completar tus misiones . . . aunque a muchos se les iran los ojos al ver a la protagonista. JEJE. Esperemos que SEGA muestre mas del gamaplay porque sino empezare a perder el interes en el juego.</p>

<p>Nadie que sea fan de los videogames (VG) y que tengas unos 25 años a la fecha. Podra olvidar que uno de los titulo cooperativos mas interesantes de los 80´s, fue <strong>GOLDEN AXE</strong>. Y no solo porque te metia en un ambiente al puro estilo "CONAN", sino que te permitia interactuar con tus cuates. Esos tiempos no se olvidan, y <strong>SEGA</strong> quiere revivir su franquicia con nuevos personajes y situaciones. Este video muestra un poco del gameplay que parece un clasico beat´em up y claro un mujer divina con esos trajes de cuero que te recordaran las hazañas del barbaro mayor. Espero que den mas noticias pronto. Disfrunten el video amantes del arte de <strong>Boris Vallejo</strong>.</p>

<p>"Rightly or wrongly, we don't have co-op multiplayer in the game," he [Sean Ratcliffe, Sega's VP of marketing] offered, a statement that was met with a short, yet uncomfortable pause. "I think as much as anything it's taking inspiration from the original series but in terms of that multiplayer co-op the developer decided that they didn't want to take the game in that direction."</p>
<p>When it comes to re-envisioning classics, you just can't get it right no matter what you do. Fans just don't seem to understand that sometimes, developers have a different vision of a game, and sometimes they believe in it enough to risk the ire of all the bitchy "old-school" fans that will give you a failing grade no matter what you do. Yes, the co-op was one of the reasons Golden Axe was great, but so was beast riding - and this time it's the focus. Watch the gameplay footage, and I think you can get an idea of how difficult it would have been to accomplish some of this gameplay with co-op.</p>

<p>In particular, I'm referring to the cinematic fatalities and pace of action (particularly when the beasts are involved). Sure, you can accomplish this with splitscreen, and Gears managed to detail fatalities just fine, but that was without any massive scaling worries like "how do we manage to show the action when you're riding something the size of a T-rex?" I think I can see why the developers opted to go with a single-player campaign. The only thing I'm really unhappy about right now is the way they've handled object transparency for when the player is blocked from view by the camera.</p>
<p>I want to believe that they're all old-school Golden Axe fans like we are, that it was a tough and difficult decision but that we'll have a better game for it. In the end, I think I don't particularly care, so long as it retains worthwhile elements of the classics but shines on its own as a new title. Me, I'm pretty stoked - looking past my incredible hardon for the Tyris redesign, it looks like a pretty solid M-rated fantasy-action title, a genre I've felt sorely lacking since the original God of War.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Mais uma sexta, mais uma vez hora de lembrar da época em que você comprava pão para sua mãe na maior boa vontade só para ficar com o troco (e quem saber jogar uma ficha ou duas no final da semana...). Depois de uma semana ausente, a coluna <strong>Velhos bons tempos </strong>retorna com uma história explosiva!</p>

<p><strong>Cabuumm!</strong></p>
<p>No final de 1991 (ou seria 1992?) eu e meus irmãos finalmente ganhamos nosso segundo console: um <strong>Sega Master System</strong>. O primeiro tinha sido um <strong>Atari</strong>, dado pelo meu pai, enquanto o console da Tec Toy tinha sido um presente da minha mãe. Dada a grande dificuldade financeira da nossa família na época, imagino que ele deve ter sido pago em 12 ou mais prestações, mas ela havia cansado de ver seus meninos do buchão pescoçando em locadoras ou mendigando videogames emprestados.</p>
<p>Outra marca da nossa dificuldade era a televisão que tinhamos. Era um modelo tão velho que na época já tinha quase 20 anos de uso. Embora fosse originalmente colorida, as cores já davam sinais de cansaço e o tubo de imagem já estava nas últimas, e virava e mexia a imagem ia reduzindo e distorcendo. Sem dinheiro nem para a assistência técnica, meu pai, metido a "entendido", abria aquilo e tentava dar um jeito, resmungando que nem o Ursulão. Minha mãe, igual a esposa do personagem do desenho, gritava lá de dentro com seu jeito mineiro: "Larga isso, homem de Deus! Tu não entende nada disso. Uma hora dessa este trem explode na cara de todo mundo...".</p>

<p>O nosso presente veio acompanhado de um cartucho: <strong>Golden Axe Warrior</strong>. O jogo era uma <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">cópia descarada</span> "versão alternativa" da Sega para o clássico <strong>Legend of Zelda </strong>da NIntendo. A jogabilidade tinha os mesmos elementos, e a foto acima mostra bem o estilo adotado. Para nós que não tinhamos acesso aos consoles da Nintendo, aquele jogo era o máximo. Sempre que sobrava um tempo nos intervalos das intermináveis novelas, lá estávamos os três tentado desvendar os labirintos e os mistérios do jogo.</p>
<p>Num belo sábado à tarde (o dia ideal para o filho das noveleiras, pois elas arruma a casa a tarde e desocupam a televisão...), eu e meus irmãos estávamos quase fechando o game: tinhamos todos os cristais e íamos para a última tela. E a nossa televisão, como sempre, capengando. A expectativa era grande: os meninos (eu, o mais velho, tinha apenas 11 anos, enquanto os outros dois tinham 9 e 8 anos, respectivamente) vidrados na televisão, imersos no mundo do jogo, sem piscar nem conversar. E chegamos então na tela do último labirinto.</p>
<p>Nesta hora a imagem começa a tremer rapidamente, e um barulho alto começa a vir da televisão! Amendrontados pelas constantes mexidas do meu pai (que inclusive tinha "futucado" a TV de manhã) e pelas ameaças de explosão da minha mãe, num instante o que se viu foi menino correndo para tudo quanto é lado! Minutos depois, ainda com o coração palpitante, espiamos de longe a sala para ver o rombo. E lá estava a televisão e o videogame intactos, a tela incrivelmente boa, e a personagem no mesmo lugar que havíamos deixado. Intrigados com o acontecido, e com receio de novas ameaças de explosão, desligamos tudo e fomos ajudar minha mãe.</p>
<p>No outro dia, fomos de novo tentar zerar o jogo. Na mesma tela, tome tremor e barulho de novo. Na metade da segunda fuga, ponderamos o óbvio: aquilo era do jogo mesmo, o "efeito especial" da aparição do último labirinto...</p>
<p>E falam que os jogos de hoje é que são imersivos...</p>
<p><strong>Comerciais de games</strong></p>
<p>Esta época do Master System tinha outra coisa boa: passava comerciais de jogos na televisão! Para a criançada  era uma maravilha: já sabíamos o que procurar na locadora na semana seguinte.</p>

<p>O que eu mais gostava era do comercial do <strong>Castle of Illusion</strong>. O narrador dizia, com uma ênfase no final da frase muito engraçada: "...bichinhos, docinhos que até pareeecem inofensivos...", aludindo aos soldadinhos de chumbo e os doces que eram os adversários do <strong>Mickey Mouse </strong>naquele jogo (que era um bom jogo de plataforma, com ótimos gráficos, cores e animação, além de um bom desafio. Vale a pena conferir quem tiver oportunidade).</p>
<p>Aqui no Brasil infelizmente comercial de jogos é lembraça dos mais velhos. Nos outros países isso é uma realidade presente. Quem sabe um dia teremos novamente os games na grande mídia? Fica, como curiosidade, um link para o vídeo do comercial japonês do <strong>Legend of Zelda </strong>para o GameBoy original. Como diria o Ryunoken, bem bolado!</p>

<description><![CDATA[SEGA is once again gearing up to defile the once great video game series of Sonic the Hedgehog. I do]]></description>

I don't know much about Sonic Unleashed(I choose not to pay attention to the 3D sonic games now). All I know is it's being released for the Xbox 360, PS2, Wii and Playstation 3.</p>
<p style="text-align:center;">For some reason, another Yakusa games will be released for the PS2. Beijing 2008 is coming in June, and a new Golden Axe Game will be released in September.  Golden Axe Riders does not sound good to me. It may turn out to be another hover board game for all I know. Ooggle the full release list over at Kombo.</p>

<title><![CDATA[My Gripes: 5 Worst Franchise Reboots]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><i>This week I'm publishing a three-part series concerning franchise reboots (you know, when a series gets "reinvigorated"/"reinvented" rather than work on a new IP).  Below are what I consider the five worst reboots, followed by the five best reboots, and finally five games that could use a sequel.</i></p>
<p>Franchise reboots are nothing new to popular culture - just look at this summer's movie release listing.  Video games in particular have had a huge amount of franchise reboots (not to mention video games based on movie franchise reboots, too).  For the most part, they do an okay job, but sometimes they fail miserably.  </p>
<p>There are some franchises I don't even want to get into, like the <i>Frogger</i>, <i>Pac-Man</i>, <i>Mortal Kombat</i> and <i>Sonic</i> games, which have just become progressively worse to the point of joke status.</p>

It seems like eons ago, but the first <i>Rampage</i> in the arcade was a sight to behold - totally destructible environments, campy humor, and multiplayer.  Unfortunately, every attempt to reboot this franchise has failed miserably, and here's why: this was a game that was perfect for 1986 in its own capacity.  And today, it's not as fun as it was back then.  Trying to recapture its humor and originality fail, because they don't try anything new, and even slapping a new polish on an aged game doesn't do anything.</p>

<p>4. <b>Golden Axe</b><br />

This is another game that should just be left alone, because it worked well in its time but probably won't work today.  Slashing up magic medieval bad guys, kicking gnomes, and riding bird/lizard monsters was just plain awesome in 1989; today, it's just plain nerdy.  This game hasn't come out yet, but I'm pretty sure it's going to fall flat on its face.</p>

<p>3. <b>Rygar</b><br />

I'll tell you right now to your face - I had never even heard of <i>Rygar</i> until I read about this remake in 2002.  I guess it was a game I missed as a kid.  I don't think many people cared that the franchise was getting a reboot, which seems to coincide with its less-than-stellar sales.  Either way, this is a good example of bucko bucks being spent on revitalizing a franchise instead of attempting to create something new.  How many <i>Amityville</i> movies have been made now?  Isn't it time for something new?</p>

<p>2. <b>Bionic Commando</b><br />

<i>Bionic Commando</i> was awesome.  So awesome that I don't mind its imminent XBLA remake, <i>Bionic Commando: Rearmed</i>.  But what I do mind is when a company attempts to "reinvent" something that was just about perfect to begin with.  The original had an awesome feel to it - and honestly, it was probably magic.  I don't think lightning can strike twice.  Then again, Capcom is rebooting it, and they have made some <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil_4">pretty</a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zack_%26_Wiki:_Quest_for_Barbaros%27_Treasure">awesome</a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ōkami">games</a> lately (and some <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_May_Cry_4">crappers</a>, too).</p>

<p>1. <b>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles</b><br />
Series peak: 1989/1990 on Arcade, NES (TMNT II: The Arcade Game)<br />
Rebooted: 2006 on Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 (TMNT)<br />

Now, this is a reboot of reboots.  Really.  In 1989 a TMNT NES game was created, which everyone played the hell out of despite how crappy and hard it was.  <i>It was the turtles</i>, man!  And then later that year the arcade game came out, and blew our minds.  It was like playing the cartoon, or so it seemed to my 9-year-old eyes.  And then a faithful port was made on the NES a year later, saving kids across America quarters by the truckload.  There were plenty of games later on, including the much-adored <i>TMNT IV: Turtles in Time</i>, but I still prefer the arcade/NES title.  After a few failed attempts at other genres (<i>Tournament Fighters</i> comes to mind), the series disappeared from the video game map until last year, when Ubisoft released a next-gen game to coincide with the franchise's movie reboot.  The movie wasn't half-bad, and the game wasn't either, taking cues from Ubisoft's own <i>Prince of Persia</i> franchise reboot.  But when you think of what that first arcade game delivered to us screaming fans I can't help but feel like this latest TMNT was a complete and utter failure; they took a sacred product and made it just another movie game.  And we all know how us gamers feel about movie games.</p>
