Hoje vi notícias na internet que me surpreenderam quanto à igreja...

Dos 3 primeiros pilotos na classificação da Fórmula 1, dois se assumem católicos fiéis!

Assim como Robert Kubica, a revelação do ano passado, é católico fiel e grande devoto de João Paulo II. Ele atribuiu à sua intercessão a sobrevivência ao grave acidente que sobreviveu em Montreal sem um arranhão - ele carrega sempre consigo uma foto do papa! (notícia)

Outros católicos famosos: Adriana Lima (top model gatíssima, e se assume virgem aos 26 anos!), Fernanda Tavares (outra top model que está grávida e deu um fora irado na Gisele Bundchen quando esta lhe sugeriu o aborto), Lenny Kravitz (ex de Adriana Lima que a respeitou), Franz Beckenbauer (que regressou à Igreja após se encontrar com o papa) e Bono Vox, do U2.

Vi também o exemplo de uma jovem africana que não tinha as pernas e sequer era batizada mas engatinhava 2,5 milhas (aprox. 4 km!!!) todos os domingos para assistir a missa!!! O que diremos nós que temos as duas pernas e moramos perto de uma igreja!?!?

Além disso, muitas igrejas anglicanas da Irlanda têm pedido sua adesão à Igreja Católica. Mais de 400.000 anglicanos em todo o mundo podem voltar à fé!!!

E outro exemplo de fé que vêm de nossos hermanos: Durante uma passeata feministas, abortistas e lésbicas, um grupo de jovens católicos guardaram a frente da catedral de sua cidade, orando o rosário e suportando fielmente todo o tipo de zombaria. TAMBÉM QUERO ESSA OUSADIA!!!

I want to start with the person who inspired my final unit in A Level photography

P R Brown

PR Brown spans many genres with his company Bauda. Fashion, Landscapes, Portraits, music videos, graphic design, CD covers. The list is endless. His black and white images are gorgeous and they have a quality and look to them that I find amazing. I can't explain all the elements of his images that I like but they have an appeal.
Recent works include  the book 'The Heroin Diaries, A Year In The Life of A Shattered Rockstar' by Nikki Sixx and the album 'Saints Of Los Angeles' by Motley Crue.

David Bailey

The above is my favourite book by David Bailey. In this book there is a photograph of Ronnie Wood (that I can't find on the net) but it is one of my all time favourite photographs. The Rock and Roll Heroes prints are a set of photographs from the 60s to the mid 90s of 'rock and roll' icons such as The Rolling Stones, Oasis and The Beatles.
I know an awful lot of random things about David Bailey, such as he, with Andy Warhol, planned to make 'A Clockwork Orange' But funds fell through and we got Kubrick's classic (thankfully) =]
But I do know that David Bailey is a must on any contextual list for me when black and white photography is in question!

Nikki Sixx

So I know he's in Motley Crue and he isn't a pro - but he's been taking photos for years and has learnt from the likes of PR Brown! Check this - you can't say he isn't good!

Well maybe his work is an acquired taste but I love the colours he finds, the gritty situations he photographs - recently he has gotten into close-ups like the one of James Michael and I really love the shots he's done.
But I do wish he would go back to taking photos of loads of subjects instead of tens and tens of his girlfriend Kat Von D. They're good images, but I wanna see some variation Nikki!!

Annie Leibovitz

This is probably my favourite image by Annie Leibovitz which features Gisele Bundchen (Wendy), Tina Fey (Tinkerbell) and Mikhail Baryshnikov (Peter Pan). Leibovitz's Disney Dream series are a perfect sophisticated take on the films that were favourites growing up.
Plus - could there be anyone more perfect to be Peter Pan than Mikhail Baryshnikov?

Ville Jurrikkala

Mentioned him previously but here he is again

Grunge, raw, shock value, in your face - everything I love in photography / Design! He isn't a very famous photographer worldwide but is renowned in Finland! Love him for many of the same reasons that I like P R Brown's work. I'll save you the essay.

Gottfried Helnwein

Gottfried Helnwein is another artist I love who covers a number of genres, paintings, drawings, photographs, installations, film. The above is one of my favourite photography installations by Helnwein - Neunter November Nacht (Ninth November Night)
A huge number of photographs made up a 300ft memorial to Kristallnacht and concentration camp child victims. The installation was first displayed on Nov 9th in Germany between two notable museums. Some people were enraged and cut up the photographs - symbolically cutting the throats of the Jewish Children, as you can see in the above images.
The reason I love Helnwein is because he isn't scared to challenge social issues.

Jez Smith

Jez Smith took a fantastic set of photos for The Sydney Dance Company. I love the raw background in contrast to the beautiful ballet dancers. Don't have much to say about him, just like him and wanted to include him.

David LaChapelle

Is a photography blog really complete without a mention of David LaChapelle? Not a huge fan but I do appreciate him as a fantastic photographer. This is one of my favourite images by DLC featuring Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain.
Definitely influential to a lot of other photographers, and no one else really does what he does - so Kudos Mr DLC

Amongst all these famous photographers I am going to throw in a friend of mine - I think this photo just NEEDS to be included in this blog.

She does very casual images that show a lot of fun, which I think is very important to bring to a stressful wedding! I'm a big fan of the 2nd image I included here of a grooms party. She does commissions, portraits, equine - all different stuff!

Barbara Kruger

Only really seen a small amount of Kruger's work but I really love her use of negative in this image in particular.

Andy Warhol

Ending on a very controversial point - well a number of controversial topics really - Andy Warhol, Capital Punishment, The Electric Chair, and whether this can be included in a photography blog.
Well the Electric Chair prints were done as screenprints and I think I am right in saying there is a photograph at some point!
Probably one of the few pieces by Warhol / Factory that I like.

Due to Rumors, we have to revisit the Brady/Gisele and Romo/Simpson romances.

This week, rumors are flying that Brady and Gisele are close to trying the knot and will do it lo-key, and quick. Also this week, we were told that Romo and Simpson were spotted shopping for rings at a mall jewelry store. 

Which one is true?  None?  Both? 

I think there is more to the Brady story than Romo.  Brady ain't doing jack since getting injured in week 1 of the football season and now has a lot more time to Gisele to be taking care of him.

As for Romo?  With the stuff that went on after the game, I don't think he was thinking about any rings except maybe ringing T.O.'s neck this week if they don't get back on track.

So Brady, survey says, marriage before the end of the year.  Romo?  He will be free after january.  I want to say Feb, but until he can win a playoff game I can't.-Dr.FB

Love is blind but marriage is a real eye-opener

Ahh yes, what a beautiful dowry of about $700 billion. Past financial institutions, will you marry me?

Big corporations are moving closer to federal government and by doing so, moving closer to regulation (depending on which of the Presidential candidates we see in office).
The American government has always had a love relationship with the mortgage houses and big propped up financial institutions. And when you’re in love, you don’t really scrutinise your partner. He or she might snore at night, use excessive amounts of make up or even ask to borrow money when you know that they have absolutely no way of paying you back (sound familiar?).

And then...boom. You’re engaged. You might have been dating for a while, but that’s just the infatuation stage. Engagement (read: Marriage as far as women are concerned) sort of brings about a different set of rules. In the case of the American financial situation, our infatuation stage is over, and we’re scrutinising our partner, who is turning out to have a lot of skeletons in the closet. We could try to change our partner, but that would mean actually knowing all of our partner’s problems and fixing them. I don’t see that happening with a dowry of $700 billion. This dowry comes with superficial strings and very little thought has gone into the prenuptial agreement.

Our bride to be is a perfect 10 on the outside, so as men our tolerance level for flaws is quite high (come on people, this is like Jonah Hill marrying Gisele Bündchen). Our shared male minds must be going; “think of the acquisition of such prime ass(et)”. But what’s going to happen when she wants to spend 100 billion on hairspray (read: oil) for the 15th time and we’re running low on cash?

As a relationship expert I think somebody has to change and I don’t think she’s going to.

I guess we men are quite shallow beings...

So many bloody marital joinings to announce this week. It's making me quite sick actually. This time it looks like Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen might be following in Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson's footsteps by walking down the aisle... although that could be quite a feat for injured Tom Brady, so maybe more like a hobble down the aisle.

A friend of the couple told Chicago Sun-Times ''I don't think they will even bother getting engaged -- and will just slip off and marry quietly. But I think that's sooner rather than later.'' Erm, Gisele doesn't seem like the kind of gal who'd let her man get away with scarpering on buying a diamond ring. And with Tom's salary she might even receive that Heart of The Ocean diamond Leo failed to provide her with.

According to NY Mag, the superest supermodel Gisele Bundchen will be putting her bling up for sale at the infamous Christie’s auction on October 15.

Reports state that some of the gems come from the ex-factor. That’s right, she’s giving away some of the loot that Leo gave her including a colored diamond ring worth about $20,000 and a diamond pendant necklace worth a whopping $150,000.

My addiction to sugar is like a drug addict's love affair with heroin. Can't get enough of it. I need to eat something sweet every, single day. It's bordering on ridiculous, spiralling out of control. And my body is suffering. Never mind my teeth, in which nearly all have fillings. A typical hourglass figure, I carry my weight more so around my hips, ass and thighs. And God I am over it.

Like most women I have my hang ups over my body. I dream of perfectly smooth skin and long legs a la Gisele Bundchen. What human being doesn't? However I have no confidence or self-esteem issues because I am comfortable in my own skin.Yet my sugar addiction is wreaking havoc on the scales! And this is a continuous cycle for me, as my weight continues to fluctuate.

It is frustrating when you know what type of diet is best for your body, alongside the best type of exercise as well. I already have that all sussed and I know that there is no magical pill better than consistent exercise and maintaining a healthy, balanced diet. For myself, one that is rich in protein and low (not too low) in carbs.

But it's my sugar habit that lets me down, and gets in the way of me reaching my weight loss goals. I effing hate it! So over this toxic substance, I am contemplating hypnotherapy to finally put it in its resting place.

I do realise it's about willpower, and that it is a mind over matter situation. I know I can do it but when you're in a rut of eating sugar like it's going out of style, what's a girl to do? Rant on her blog.

So I am going to post a few facts about how awful/crap/horrid sugar is, right here right now, just so I can have it before  my very eyes. My objective is to drum into brain how toxic sugar is for my body in the hopes it will finally (?) sink in.

• Staying away from sugar = healthy, glowing skin. Dr. Nicolas Perricone believes that inflammation of the skin is the basis of aging.
• High-glycemic carbohydrates such as pastas, bread and rice turn to sugar inside the body.
• Sugar leads to obesity and tooth decay.
• All types of dietary sugar (Glucose, Fructose, Sucrose, Galactose, Maltose and lactose) will usually turn directly into FAT.
  
• Too much fat = Feeling ugly, lethargic and heavy.

Up for grabs by New York auction house Christie's is a three-carat diamond ring and six-carat diamond pendant necklace. The stunners are expected to fetch between £7,500 and £75,000 when they go under the hammer on 15th October.

Hoy, cuando es una de las top model más solicitadas y que según la revista especializada Forbes ganó el año pasado más de treinta y cinco millones de dolares, estas imágenes que exceden en osadía a los que nos tiene acostumbrados comenzaron a circular para la alegria de sus muchos fans.

A pesar de que la propia Gisele acepta que las imágenes muestran “cómo usar cemento sin usarlo”, no cree que haya “enseñado” mucho en las fotografías, informó la página de internet de la revista People. Siempre se está a tiempo de rectificar, no crees?

Gente, eu sei que essa campanha foi de 2006, mas como o intuito desse meu blog é "colecionar" e compartilhar coisas que eu acho bacanas, decidi colocar essas imagens na roda pro baile todo!

Bem, logo que essa campanha da Grendene foi veiculada (tanto na midia impressa quanto na tv), deu aquele bafafá "M-e-n-i-n-a, você não sabe? Você viu a Gisele Bündchen nua e tatuada?". Enfim, foi uma causação tão bapho que no fim das contas até esqueciam qual era a marca da sandália...  *rs*

Esse case da Grendene foi desenvolvido pela W/Brasil e as ilustrações foram feitas por Brasílio Matsumoto do 6B Estúdio (esse sobrenome me é familiar... *rs*).

Enfim, como eu ADORO ilustrações e acho que essas tattos têm TUDO a ver com moda. Decidi socializar esse Making-of retirado do site do 6B!

Nas fotos, cada tatuagem levou uma semana para ser aplicada. No vídeo, foram seis meses combinando desenhos e corpo em movimento. The worlds richest supermodel, Gisele Bundchen is auctioning off a 6-carat diamond pendant necklace with an estimated value of $120,000 to $150,000 and a 3.35 carat colored Sabbadini diamond ring which is valued between $15,000 to $20,000 for charity.

Bundchen, who previously dated Leonardo DiCaprio won't say who gave her the gorgeous baubles but I think its safe to assume it was probably him!  I'm sure her current beau Tom Brady is happy she is removing these from her collection!

Sources speculate that the pieces were given to her by former beau Leonardo DiCaprio. Also in the sale are two stones, dubbed the Ponahalo Diamonds, comprising 102.11-carat and 70.87-carat rectangular-cut stones that came from the same 316.15-carat diamond found by De Beers Group in 2005. A portion of the proceeds of the Ponahalo Diamonds, which are estimated to fetch from $2 million to $4 million, will be donated to the Diamond Empowerment Fund, a nonprofit organization geared to empower diamond-mining countries in Africa.
