No dia em que o pacote de ajuda às instituições financeiras foi aprovado nos Estados Unidos, duas montadoras brasileiras, a General Motors e a Fiat anunciaram férias coletivas para mais de 10 mil trabalhadores. A medida envolve três fábricas da GM (São Caetano do Sul, São José dos Campos e Mogi das Cruzes) e a única unidade da Fiat em Betim (MG). A produção será suspensa ou reduzida a partir de meados deste mês.

A GM não divulgou o motivo das férias, dando margem à especulações de queda de demanda por causa da crise internacional, que já está refletindo em aumento de juros e redução de prazos de financiamentos para veículos no Brasil. A Fiat informou ter decido dividir a parada que normalmente ocorre no fim do ano em duas etapas para evitar que toda a produção seja suspensa de uma vez.

Na fábrica da GM de São Caetano, toda a produção será suspensa entre os dias 20 e 29. Vão ficar em casa mais de 6 mil trabalhadores e deixarão de ser produzidos os modelos Corsa, Astra e Vectra. No mesmo período, serão dispensados os funcionários da unidade de Mogi das Cruzes, responsável pela produção de peças, onde trabalham cerca de 600 pessoas.

Na filial de São José, entre 1,7 mil e 2 mil funcionários ficarão em férias de 20 de outubro a 2 de novembro. As paradas serão parciais nas linhas de montagem do Corsa, Zafira e Montana e na unidade de motores. Segundo o secretário-geral do Sindicato dos Metalúrgicos, Luiz Carlos Prates, cerca de 10 mil veículos deixarão de ser produzidos nessa unidade.

O sindicalista disse que a direção da GM não explicou os motivos das férias coletivas, concedidas em período atípico, mas ele acredita tratar-se de um primeiro sinal da crise internacional, que deve se refletir nas vendas de automóveis no País. A GM confirmou as férias, mas não deu justificativas.

Neste ano, as vendas da GM cresceram 25,6% em relação ao mesmo período de 2007. Os negócios da Fiat aumentaram 21,1% e o mercado total de automóveis e comerciais leves teve crescimento e 26,9%.

Prates lembrou que, em São José, a decisão ocorreu três dias após a GM ter encerrado um Programa de Demissão Voluntária (PDV), aberto em 17 de setembro e que teve adesão de cerca de 130 trabalhadores. Há três meses, a empresa havia anunciado a abertura de 600 vagas temporárias na unidade.

A Fiat vai dar férias a 1,7 mil dos seus 15 mil funcionários em Betim (MG), o que deve resultar numa redução de pouco mais de 10% na produção de todos os modelos da marca, de mais de 3 mil unidades ao dia.

"Decidimos dividir as paradas em duas etapas justamente para garantir a manutenção de parte da produção no fim do ano", informou um porta-voz da montadora. Os funcionários ficarão sem trabalhar entre 10 e 30 dias.

A GM também dará férias aos empregados da fábrica da Argentina onde é feito o Classic. A maior parte da produção é destinada ao Brasil.

September 28 marked the 2008 A-style Grand Prix of Japan.  The A-style Grand Prix of Japan is the Japanese round of Moto GP.  Moto GP is the premier league of motorcycle racing, equivalent to F1.  This championship is, in my opinion, much better than F1.  There is a lot of passing, and lots of excitement.  Going to a true Grand Prix, you'll be entertained with 3 different races and 3 different racers.  There are 3 classes in Moto GP.  125cc, 250cc, and MotoGP Class.  The 125s are the entry level for world class.  Riders can be as young as 15 to a maximum age of 28.  This is to promote younger talent to rise through the classes.  Generally, good riders will start in 125, move to 250, and finally graduate to the MotoGP class.  It is very difficult as each class gets smaller and smaller. Going to a MotoGP race is an adventure in itself.  The race is held in Motegi, Tochigi Prefecture, about 3 hours North of Tokyo.  The track is nestled within the surrounding hills and mountains and it provides a good change in elevation.  However, the track can be a little boring.  Rather than have nice fast sweeping corners that allow motorcycles to pass, it's a stop and go track that is better suited to F1.   While it isn't the best track for motorcycles, it is still a great place to go.  I have been to 2 previous Grand Prix of Japan and I must say, this year was the best.  Previously, it took a long time to get to the track and a longer time to get home.  We got to the GP very quickly (almost record time) and returned home after the race in record time.  If you do go, try to get a packaged tour.  You tend to get free stuff and you don't have to worry about driving when you are tired.

I took the Yamaha fan tour.  I was picked up at the train station, taken to the event, and got free swag when I entered the race area.  Last year's package was very similar.  This year, I got a cap, T-shirt, scarf, and bag.  The bag was mainly to carry everything.  I also picked up a few other things.  If you ever go to an F1 race, the amount of goods available are greater, but not as nice (I think) as the Moto GP goods.  Unfortunately, the good things were sold very quickly and I couldn't buy some things.  On the way back, we were greeted with more free things.  We got a free sticker to celebrate Valentino Rossi's World Championship, and a free photo book highlighting the 2007 Yamaha Motor GP Season.  Unfortunately, it isn't the year I'd like to have, but the pictures were amazing.  I'd say they didn't make much of a profit, if any, with the tickets they sold. The Grand Prix of Japan is a very well oiled machine.  Everything runs very smoothly.  All of the vendors stay the same, yet provide new things every year.  Every year, I want to buy more and more things.  I just can't stop myself.  I'm sure I'll buy even more next year.  :)

As for the race, the 125cc race was the most exciting.  The opening lap saw 3 accidents.  Two being in the last corner.  The 250cc race saw only one accident, but the rest was exciting racing.  Lots of lead changes in the beginning and a young Italian won the race.  The Moto GP class was the most exciting.  It was the first chance Valentino Rossi had to win his first championship in 3 years.  The opening of the race saw Australian Casey Stoner take the lead with Rossi falling back.  He always tends to do that.  Later on, he overtook Stoner and eventually won the race.  After the race, I ran down to the track to help celebrate Rossi's victory and Championship victory.  The closest I could get was about 20 metres.  Needless to say, it was a very exciting and lively time.  The most fun I had in years.  If you are ever in Japan during the Moto GP, please try to go.  The whole event is an experience that shouldn't be missed.  One small exception.  I'm a big motorcycle racing fan, so I believe I'm extremely biased.  ;)

Let me be the first to say this, cause I haven’t noticed anyone else pointing it out yet.  The terrorists won.  Go figure.  Let’s step back a few years to September 11, 2001.  If you’ll recall, almost everyone who predicts such things was claiming that the terrorists who flew the planes into the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon were doing it, for a large part, in an attempt to destabilize the United States economy.  What they did instead was rally Americans to stand beside each other and re-created the sense of community that many citizens had lost.  In fact, due to Americans coming together, the economy actually rose significantly.  Yes, the stock market fell, predictably, but it recovered a lot faster than such events in the past and things seemed very rosy for the American public and the American dream.

Flash-forward seven years and the economy is doing just what the terrorists hoped it would, crumbling under the weight of Capitalist greed.  You see, regardless of which political side you stand on, it’s hard to deny that there is one thing that got us into this mess – greed.  From the family who wants to buy a home larger than they can afford, to the mortgage broker who gets them that mortgage, knowing they’ll probably end up in the hole, but happy with his commission check, to the banks who approved such loans, looking for larger paydays, to government regulators and so-called watchdogs who turned a blind eye to such practices, to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who bought the mortgages, knowing that they probably weren’t good investments, but assuring the investing public, that mortgage-based securities were the safest non-insured investments.

And now, we have an $811-Billion bailout package, approved by Congress and the President.  And no, I didn’t misquote that – pull out your calculator and do the math.  For that matter, who needs the bailout?  JP Morgan Chase had the wherewithal to purchase Washington Mutual, Citi grabbed Wachovia (or did they?) and Bank of America picked up Merrill Lynch and Countrywide.

Personally, I am of the opinion that this nation could use a revisit to the Great Depression reality check.  This bailout is not going to help in the long run, just delay things again a little more.  And if our legislators and Chief of State want to really help, they’d send the American public the money, in the form of individually-coded vouchers that they could only utilize to pay their mortgage or rent.  That way, the banks get bailed out, people get to keep their homes, and the economy has a chance of gently recovering.  Trust me, in the long run, the 11% interest they’ll charge the banks for the bailout cash won’t scratch the surface of the long-term effects of this action.

You may be wondering how even the Republicans can support this bailout.  The answer is easy.  You see, we don’t have a true Capitalist society here in the United States anymore.  We haven’t since – guess when – that’s right, the 1930’s, when our esteemed government tried to fix the last Great Depression.

You remember, when Congress and FDR passed “The New Deal” – various legislations creating Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, the FDIC, extending mortgages past seven year terms, the Agricultural Adjustment Act (which pays farmers NOT to grow crops), and most importantly, the Banking Act of 1933 (the second Glass-Steagall Act), which paved the way for the elimination of the Gold Standard.

For the uninitiated, the Gold Standard states that gold is the standard of value for a country’s currency.  In other words, a hundred dollar bill could be redeemed for $100 worth of gold.  You may recall your grandparents talking about gold certificates or silver certificates – those are currency, which, by definition, still fall under the gold standard.  What is most important about the Gold Standard is that it defined the value of our money by “hard currency.”  Without that definition, our money is barely worth the paper it is printed on – as many folks are now learning.  Nixon sealed the deal back in August of 1971, completely eliminating the gold standard, which has not been used by any country since then.  Instead, we use a Fiat money system, which means that our money is intrinsically useless; it is merely a medium of exchange.

From FDR's own inaugural speech,

Practices of the unscrupulous money changers stand indicted in the court of public opinion, rejected by the hearts and minds of men.

True they have tried, but their efforts have been cast in the pattern of an outworn tradition. Faced by failure of credit they have proposed only the lending of more money. Stripped of the lure of profit by which to induce our people to follow their false leadership, they have resorted to exhortations, pleading tearfully for restored confidence. They know only the rules of a generation of self-seekers. They have no vision, and when there is no vision the people perish.

...there must be an end to a conduct in banking and in business which too often has given to a sacred trust the likeness of callous and selfish wrongdoing. Small wonder that confidence languishes, for it thrives only on honesty, on honor, on the sacredness of obligations, on faithful protection, on unselfish performance; without them it cannot live.

There must be a strict supervision of all banking and credits and investments. There must be an end to speculation with other people’s money. And there must be provision for an adequate but sound currency..."

So all we have to fear is fear itself?  Did I mention how much it cost the US government to finance the various aspects of Roosevelt’s New Deal?  Somewhere between $10 and $20-Billion, over a nine year period, ending with World War II.  Yes, that’s right, just in 1936 alone, the cost was $9-BILLION!  $9-Billion, in 1936! Taxes went up, up, up, needless to say.  Do I need mention that almost all of the programs FDR initiated that still exist today are already Billions of dollars in arrears?  Now we’ve initiated a single bank bailout program that will INITIALLY cost nearly 80-times the total payout for FDR’s programs over a 10-year period.  Hey, maybe we can get Germany to try and take over the world again.

In all seriousness, have we learned nothing from our grandparent’s generation who lived through this mess back in the 30’s?  Apparently not, since we’re on track to fall once more into the well.  Now, there were some really great things that came out of FDR’s reign in the White House.  For one, labor unions and other workforce reforms were put into place that are still in effect which have had a positive effect on our economy – although I would suggest that many of the labor unions have run their course at this point.

But back to the United States economic policies – since FDR’s New Deal, American capitalism has actually been a form of Socialized Capitalism.  Adam Smith would be rolling in his grave.  Again, this was not necessarily a bad thing, as it did help American workers get back on their feet and curtailed industrialist greed, at least temporarily.  In fact, John Maynard Keynes predicted that if the reforms were carried on to their logical conclusion, that we would be working shorter hours and earning more money in just a few decades.

Unfortunately, his theories did not fully anticipate the government's attempts to siphon-off man hours to help fight the 1950’s Cold War with Russia.  Or the continued movement of women into the workforce that began in 1950 and rose significantly through the 70’s and 80’s.  Not to mention the fact that there is some evidence to suggest that longer working hours leads to sustained inflation, which leads to longer working hours, which leads to – well, you see my point.

So now that we have Socialized Capitalism, where we routinely bail out individuals – to a point where we need some sweeping reforms of the welfare and unemployment programs – so why not bail out corporate America when it gets greedy and overreaching?

This isn’t new news.  Larry Burkett predicted this back in 1991, in his classic, but now out of print book, The Coming Economic Earthquake.  The book includes a chapter that gives a fictionalized account of how things might play out in 1999, if Larry was right.  What’s scary is how very un-fictional much of his story sounds now.  Economic Journalists Neil Howe and Phillip Longman pointed out back in 1992 that government spending for entitlements was out of control and if not curtailed would eventually result in disaster.  Meanwhile Pastor Gary Keesee may have wished his latest book, Fixing the Money Thing, wherein he explains a number of the concept his Forward Financial Group have used to help people out of debt, had come out a few weeks later (or maybe a few months earlier).  In the early chapters, he lays the groundwork of what is happening in the country and also has vision of the future, which turns out to be a little more conservative, but still a horribly scary picture of what our next few months may look like.

And in the end, the terrorists have won.  No matter how this eventually plays out, they’ve proven that Americans are greedy, capitalist fiends.  What’s more, we’ve also managed to prove that our grand system of capitalism is a fraudulent, failed beast – after all, if it really worked, we’d let these banks flounder and recover on their own.  And neither candidate is willing to say which of their programs they may have to eliminate to help pay for this bailout.  My guess is, regardless of who gets elected, we aren’t going to see another personalized economic stimulus package, but rather, higher taxes across the board, for everything from income to foreign goods (tariffs) to telecommunications to tobacco and alcohol and sales – anything to help “stimulate” the economy by saving some bank CEOs’ butts.  The same banks that now charge fees for everything from using the ATM, to cashing a check, to talking to a teller or processing a payment over the phone or Internet.

The worst part is, the American people, as far as I can tell, are largely against the bailout, but the politicians, by and large, ignored literally thousands of calls to the switchboard – not by some artificial grassroots organizations, but from hundreds of actual citizens, taking an interest in the government, trying to let our elected officials know how they thought the bailout should be handled.  They were, unfortunately ignored.  Now, while I’m not usually one to jump on the bandwagon – I usually lean towards the idea that there may have been information that elected officials were privy to that the public is not – I think in this case, Congress and the President should have listened to the people.  And just in case you wondered, here are links to which people voted for and against the bailout – in the House and the Senate.  You might want to take that into account when you head to the polls later this year.

I wish I had more answers to offer, but I don’t, other than to offer a couple of words of wisdom from God’s Word, spoken to the Israelites, “What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him?  …Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.  Remember the day… if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.  When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and obey him.  For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath.” (Deuteronomy 4: 7, 9, 29-31)

And, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.  Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” (2 Chronicles 7:14-15)

A Fiat deverá mandar pra casa cerca de 10% de seu contingente operário de 15 mil funcionários da fábrica-sede da montadora em Betim. As férias deverão começar em meados desse mês e devem durar entre 10 e 30 dias. Tal redução fará com que aproximadamente 3 mil veículos novos deixem de ser montados, representando uma queda de 10% na produção total de veículos.

A medida entra em vigor à partir do dia 20 desse mês e deverá mandar para casa cerca de 2 mil funcionários até o dia 2 de novembro somente da fábrica de São José dos Campos, São Paulo, da montadora americana. Outros 6 mil também terão férias forçadas até o fim do mês de outubro da unidade de São Caetano do Sul, região do ABC paulista, onde são montados Corsa, Astra e Vectra. Na planta de Mogi das Cruzes, cerca de 600 funcionários estarão dispensados de seus postos durante 10 dias.

Esteticamente, a série especial DIESEL (nem tão especial já que serão produzidas 10.000 unidades) ganhou novos acabamentos, rodas de liga-leve, o logo DIESEL espalhado por diversas partes do veículo, cores especiais e mais três possibilidade de montagens para o interior. O modelo é oferecido com três opções de motorização (1.6l de 69cv, 1.3l Multijet com 75 cv e 1.4l 16v com 100 cv) e possui preço minímo de 15.000 euros.

Já o Abarth Esseesse (ou apenas SS, como queira) foi desenvolvido com base no Cinquecento Abarth convencional, ganhando em potência e visual. O kit aumenta a potência do nosso recém conhecido 1.4 T-Jet de 155cv para aproximadamente 160cv e 23kgfm de torque no modo Sport, quando a pressão do turbo é aumentada momentaneamente para maior desempenho. O carro também vem com suspensão recalibrada, freios redimensionados e novas rodas de 17 polegadas.

O conjunto geral do Esseesse é bem parecido com o da série limitada Opening Edition. O carro possuía o mesmo 1.4l T-Jet configurado para 162cv e acelerava de 0 a 100km/h em 7,1s. A velocidade máxima era de 211km/h, números que devem ser alcançados também pelo novo SS. A Abarth divulgou também que a versão custará cerca de 22.000 euros - o Abarth convencional é vendido por 18.000 euros-, equivalente a algo próximo de R$58.000 no mercado italiano.

Fiat představil návštěvníkům pařížského autosalonu novou ekologickou řadu PUR-O2, do které jsou zahrnuty vybrané modely automobilky (momentálně Bravo, Croma a 500) disponující ekonomickými motorizacemi a technologiemi šetrnými k životnímu prostředí.

Ekologická varianta PUR-O2 populárního supermini Fiat 500, postavená na bázi verze Lounge s 1.2 litrovým benzínovým motorem, je vybavena systémem Start&Stop, který umožňuje dočasné vypnutí otáček motoru (například při delším stání nebo popojíždění v kolonách).

Jakmile je uvolněn brzdový pedál nebo zařazen rychlostní stupeň, systém okamžitě motor opět spustí - díky této technologii je možno (měřeno v městském cyklu) ušetřit až 10 procent paliva.

Fiat 500 PUR-O2 bude od ledna příštího roku dostupný také s automatickou převodovkou Dualogic, která díky optimalizaci řazení umožní další snížení spotřeby a emisí CO2 (max. 115 g/km).

Fiat Bravo je vedle "pětistovky" v současné době jedním z nejúspěšnějších modelů portfolia turínské automobilky. Varianta PUR-O2 bude nabízena s dvojicí turbodieselových agregátů Multijet o objemu 1.6 litru a výkonech 90 a 105 koní.

Bravo PUR-O2 je vybaveno speciálními pneumatikami s nízkým valivým odporem, upravenou převodovkou, na přání je možno dodat stabilizační systém ESP, infotelematický a navigační systém Blue&Me nebo sekvenční Dualogic.

Posledním zástupcem řady PUR-O2 je prostorné kombi Fiat Croma osazené 1.9 litrovým Multijetem o výkonu 120 koní s filtrem prachových částic a emisemi CO2 nepřesahujícími hodnotu 140 g/km (o 17 g/km méně než klasická verze).

Spotřeba Fiatu Croma, využívajícímu stejných technologií jako modely 500 a Bravo PUR-O2, se snížila z 6.1 litru na 5.3 litru paliva na 100 km.

Os efeitos da crise financeira no crédito destinado às vendas de veículos na Europa farão a indústria "sofrer" até o fim do próximo ano, segundo prevê Luca di Montezemolo, presidente mundial do grupo Fiat. Mas, segundo o seu raciocínio, uma vez passada a turbulência, a indústria automobilística ficará diferente, mais forte, com os pés no chão: "Quando o tempo está ruim é a melhor oportunidade de refrescar a casa e deixá-la pronta para quando o sol voltar a brilhar", disse.

O tom das palavras do comandante da Fiat combina com a origem desse executivo, descendente de uma família aristocrática de Piemonte, no norte da Itália. Mas serve também de contraponto ao clima agitado, que surgiu como pano de fundo do primeiro dia de apresentação do salão do automóvel de Paris ontem.

"O que eu vou dizer pode parecer até um paradoxo; mas, ao final dessa crise, o mundo poderá ficar mais forte", disse Montezemolo em uma entrevista ao Valor durante um evento em que a maioria dos executivos preferiu fugir das perguntas dos jornalistas em torno da crise.

A turbulência no mercado financeiro tornou pior um cenário ruim de vendas de carros na Europa, retraídas desde a primeira metade do ano. Na sua interpretação do cenário, Montezemolo destacou que, uma vez passada a crise, haverá menos especulação, o que fortalecerá a indústria.

Com uma trajetória que inclui o comando da Ferrari e da escuderia nas corridas de Fórmula 1, Montezemolo assumiu o comando da Fiat com a morte de Umberto Agnelli, há quatro anos. "Os bancos americanos foram longe demais", disse o executivo. "Agora é a hora de voltar para trás; é hora de investir. Ao final do jogo o mundo será diferente e certamente melhor", completou.

Na Fiat, não é apenas Montezemolo que vê o lado positivo da crise. Gianni Coda, diretor mundial de compras da montadora italiana, diz que a negociação de preços de matérias-primas e componentes começou a ficar mais fácil nas últimas semanas.

Mas, de modo geral, a preocupação generalizada na indústria automobilística colaborou para apagar um pouco o charme do Salão de Paris. Tradicional astro do evento, que ocorre a cada dois anos, o brasileiro Carlos Ghosn, presidente mundial do grupo Renault/Nissan, iniciou sua apresentação dos novos modelos Renault, ontem, na defensiva.

Dieter Zetsche, presidente do conselho da alemã Daimler, reconheceu as incertezas em torno da Rússia, "um dos mercados emergentes cada vez mais relevantes". "O colapso no crédito obviamente afeta toda a economia do mundo, inclusive a indústria automobilística", disse.

"A velocidade no crescimento vai diminuir", disse o diretor de operações internacionais da francesa Citroën, Jean-Louis Chamla. Segundo o executivo, as vendas de carros na China, que vinham aceleradas, já caíram em agosto. "Na Rússia, as coisas também ficaram difíceis de uns meses para cá", disse.

Embora o Brasil tenha sido mais de uma vez apontado ontem, pelos europeus, como uma espécie de porto seguro, um executivo do setor, que prefere não se identificar, disse que os frotistas, grandes clientes das montadoras, já começaram a pedir um pouco mais de tempo para efetivar encomendas de carros para os próximos meses.

După cum a explicat luni pentru AŞ NOVOSTI-MOLDOVA Ion Magu, şef al centrului de presă al Serviciului Vamal, întrun microbuz "Fiat" cu numere ucrainene de înmatriculare era dotat un ascunziş. Graţie instalării uşii a doua, la mijlocul maşinii s-a format un gol. În mod vizual ascunzătoarea putea fi depistată cu greu. Dar a contribuit instalaţia "RAPISCAN", pusă la dispoziţie de partenerii americani. Ea a indicat modificarea construcţiei iniţiale a mijlocului de transport.

În total au fost confiscate 5 200 pachete de ţigări de marca "Classic".

Des Fiat Panda (essence, cinq portes avec direction assistée, équipées d'un lecteur CD et climatisées) sont proposées à la location dans 300 magasins de Système U (Marché U, Hyper U et Super U) à travers la France pour cinq euros par jour, assurance comprise, sous réserve d'un engagement de deux ans, a indiqué M. Papin.

L'offre est toutefois assortie d'une série de conditions, notamment une limitation à 1.250 km par mois. "Nous nous sommes alignés sur le modèle du +low cost+", a déclaré Thierry Desouches, responsable de communication du groupement.

Près de 1.200 véhicules sont déjà disponibles à la location et la flotte devrait passer à terme à 2.000 véhicules. Le système devrait "être très légèrement rentable", selon M. Desouches.

Système U, qui compte 900 magasins, estime que cette offre sera utilisée par les ménages souhaitant avoir une deuxième véhicule, mais qui n'en ont pas les moyens.

Automobilka Fiat ve spolupráci se známou italskou módní značkou DIESEL představila upravený model Fiat 500 "DIESEL", který by měl být v příštích dvou letech vyprodukován v počtu 10 000 vozů.

Novinka, u jejíhož zrodu stál tým designérů z Fiat Centro Style vedený Robertem Giolitem (autor "pětistovky") vychází z varianty Fiat 500 Sport a bude nabízena s trojicí barev karoserie - DIESEL Green (stejný odstín zelené jako kapotáž soukromého vrtulníku zakladatele DIESELu a návrháře Renza Rossa), černé a hnědé.

K výběru budou tři pohonné jednotky zahrnující benzínové verze o obsahu 1.2 litru (výkon 69 koní), 1,4 litrový motor 16v o výkonu 100 koní a turbodieselové agregáty zastupuje 1.3 litrový Multijet disponující výkonem 75 koní.

Všechny motorizace splňují emisní limity normy Euro5, Multijet je navíc vybaven filtrem prachových částic a vozy budou dodávány s robotizovanou převodovkou Dualogic.

Příbuznost s ikonou módního průmyslu vyjadřuje kromě řady detailů interiéru (emblém DIESEL na madle řadicí páky, ozdobné lišty na vnitřní straně dveří) také reliéfní logo DIESEL na B-sloupku s trojicí síťovaných otvorů nebo chromované pásy na náraznících a bocích vozu.

Fiat 500 DIESEL je vybaven luxusními 16-ti palcovými slitinovými koly (na středu opět logo DIESEL) a nejvýkonnější verze s 1.4 litrovým motorem má efektní žlutě lakované brzdové třmeny dodávající "pětistovce" sportovnější výraz.

Černé potahy sedadel se žlutým stehováním jsou vyrobeny z tkaniny evokující nový model džínů DIESEL a na čalounění interiéru byla z velké části použita kvalitní černá kůže.

Ceny by se měly pohybovat na hranici 15 000 Euro za 1.2 litrovou verzi, modely osazené 1.4 litrovým benzínovým motorem a 1.3 litrovým Multijetem budou asi o 2 000 Euro dražší.

La Fiat 127 nasce nel 1971 ed è stata la prima a trazione anteriore ed era equipaggiata con un motore da 903 cc, 4 cilindri, 8 valvole, 47 cavali e 4 rapporti ed era disponibile nella versioni 2, 3 e 4 porte.
La versione 3 porte aveva anche il portellone posteriore mentre la 2 e 4 porte avevano il baule che si apriva ma senza che il lunotto si potesse alzare. In listino erano disponibili il modello base e la versione Special.
Nel 1977 nasce la Fiat 127 seconda serie totalmente rinnovata inanzitutto erano disponibili le versioni 2, 3, 4 e 5 porte e diversi modelli ossia la C (confort), la L (lusso), la CL (confort lusso) e la Sport.
Le motorizzazioni disponibile era il 903 cc con 4 cilindri, 8 valvole, 4 rapporti e depotenziato a 45 cavalli oppure il 1050 con 4 cilindri, 8 valvole, 4 rapporti ma con ben 50 cavalli. Inoltre per la versione Sport il motore era sempre un 1050, 4 cilindri, 8 valvole, 4 rapporti ma potenziato a 70 cavalli e con un carburatore doppio corpo.
Nel 1981 la seconda serie viene prodotta in altri modelli che sono: Super, Special, Sport II, Rustica, Top, Diesel e Panorama (ossia la versione familiare). Le motorizzazioni non cambiano se non per la versione Diesel con un 1300 dotato di 45 cavalli.

Nel 1982 viene lanciata la terza ed ultima serie che resterà in produzione fino al 1987.
Le versioni disponibili erano la 3 e 5 porte con i seguenti modelli: Super, Special e Sport che richiamano la seconda serie e ovviamente il modello base.
I motori sono il 903 (4 cilindri, 4 rapporti, 8 valvole e 45 cavalli), il 1050 (4 cilindri, 8 valvole, 50 cavalli ma con 5 rapporti) e il 1300 per la versione Sport con 75 cavalli.
Su tutte e tre le serie i motori 903 e 1050 da 70 cavalli erano dotato dello starter ossia per l'avviamento a freddo bisognava attivarlo e disattivalo manualmente mentre sul 1050 da 45 cavalli era automatico.

Gli storici impianti industriali Zastava saranno profondamente ristrutturati e, fino alla fine del 2009 continueranno l’assemblaggio della “Punto-Zastava” avviato lo scorso anno. Contemporaneamente verranno predisposte le linee di produzione per la futura “city-car” e per la nuova auto di segmento B: Fiat si propone di immetterle sul mercato mondiale rispettivamente a partire dal 2010 e dal 2011, con un obiettivo finale di 300mila unità all’anno

Il Governo serbo contribuirà con un capitale finale di 200 milioni di euro, esenzioni fiscali (verrà creata una zona franca valida anche per i subfornitori, dove potranno essere importati materie prime e semilavorati senza dazi) e altre agevolazioni. Vantaggi economici anche a livello locale: è infatti prevista l’esenzione per la Fiat dalle imposte per un periodo di dieci anni; la città di Kragujevac, inoltre, concederà gratuitamente i terreni per gli eventuali ampliamenti. Resta da completare la costruzione del raccordo autostradale che collega la città all’autostrada Belgrado-Nis, prevista dal Comune per il 2010.

Decisive per “la scelta serba” sono state la costante crescita economica del Paese (circa 6-7% all’anno), la presenza in Serbia di costi inferiori alla media di quelli dell’est-europeo e un’alta disponibilità di manodopera qualificata, e soprattutto le prospettive europee che il nuovo corso del Presidente Tadic ha dischiuso per il Paese.
