In copilul care punea intrebari puerile s-a trezit astazi adolescentul cu pofta de cunoastere... si astfel au aparut alte intrebari .... pe cat de spontane, pe atat de dureroase.... si imi pare rau ca le-am pus... mai bine procedam ca de obicei... imi puneam intrebari mie... si fie ca imi gaseam un raspuns, fie ca trecea ceva tip si uitam... pana la urma paream bine... si vesel...si fericit ca de obicei.

Da' iata ca astazi am pus intrebarile cu voce tale.... si s-au auzit.. si au adus tristete... aceeasi tristete care o aduc mereu in sufletul meu.. numai ca astazi a fost exponential mai mare, pentru ca au adus tristete si pe chipul altei persoane... si vazandu-i chipul intristat, sufletul mi s-a intunecat mai tare... iar am avut acel sentiment de furie indreptata impotriva-mi...

According to an Israeli government website called Israelfestival.com, the festival included "non-stop entertainment, [a] fashion show, a variety of ethnic food for sale, Israeli folk dancing, arts and
crafts, Israeli and Jewish cultural and heritage pavilions and art exhibits".

The centrepiece ceremony takes place in West Jerusalem and be attended by Israel's political and military leaders as well as foreign dignitaries. Among those expected are US President George W Bush,
French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Israeli media and non-governmental organisations have already begun celebrations in earnest. For example, Israeli television has begun airing a new series called Shishim (meaning "60"), which looks back at the six decades since Israel was created in May 1948. The series, which began 31 March, is divided into six episodes, each devoted to one of the decades following the founding of the state.

Israel hopes that the high-pitched celebrations will serve as an opportunity to promote Israel and enhance its questionable standing abroad. "It is an opportunity to celebrate our achievements, our
successes, our national being," boasted Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, who was not yet born in 1948.

From the Zionist viewpoint, Israel is a story of success. Today, Israel is a political and military force to be reckoned with, even if its power is based on the patronage of foreign entities. A country of
no more than seven million people, including nearly 1.5 million non-Jews (mainly Palestinians), Israel more or less directs the politics and policies of world's only superpower, the United States, thanks mainly to powerful Jewish lobbies in Washington.

The power of the Jewish lobby largely explains how massive American financial and military support is to Israel, which is measured in hundreds of billions of dollars. Were it not for this nearly unlimited
financial, economic, technological, political and military backing, Israel would never have been able to survive, especially given its predator tactics.

Israel, which has been mounting a vitriolic incitement campaign against Iran for its acquisition of nuclear technology, is a nuclear power on par with other established nuclear powers, and its military
supremacy -- at least until summer of 2006 -- has covered the vast bulk of the Middle East from Turkey to Iran and from North Africa to east and central Africa.

Economically, Israel is also a regional economic superpower, with a GNP bordering on $0.5 trillion. In fact, Israel is among a few pioneering states in the field of electronics and the development of
new generations of medicine, with Israeli pharmaceutical firms' share of the world market reaching billions of dollars.

Notwithstanding all its success and achievements, Israel remains a state based on racism, apartheid and criminality against the Palestinian people whose homeland it seized and whom it is trying to
obliterate to this day. To be sure, Israel has failed. Palestinians remain, both as a human entity and as a national entity.

Israel, in order to achieve its goals, always sought to acquire, by hook or by crook, as much Palestinian land as possible while taking in as few Palestinian people as possible. The policies and tactics employed by Israel to achieve this goal are both blunt and insidious and amount to ethnic cleansing and the international crime of genocide. Israel has institutionalised racism, bulldozed hundreds of Palestinian towns and villages, shamelessly confiscated Palestinian land and property, including private homes, and recently built the so-called "Separation Wall" in the West Bank, aimed first and foremost at annexing to Israel as much Palestinian land as possible.

On top of all of this, Israel has perfected the practice of state-sponsored mass terror; a deliberate policy aimed at making Palestinian life as unbearable as possible with the ultimate goal of forcing Palestinians to leave their homes and land altogether. This is done in broad daylight; in full view of key world powers, such as the US, EU, Russia and China, which either keep silent or issue a few terse and innocuous words about the need to stick to a peace process that has form but very little substance.

Today, as Israel is getting ready to celebrate its 60th birthday, the massive theft of Palestinian land in the West Bank, especially in East Jerusalem and its surroundings, continues unabated. Against all odds, the Palestinian people have survived. Indeed, Palestinian resilience to Israeli oppression is legendary -- a trait that continues to baffle and frustrate Israeli strategists. Perhaps it is this resilience that is encouraging influential Israeli political, military and religious leaders to openly call for genocide of the Palestinians.

Recently, Israel's Deputy Defence Minister Matan Vilnai threatened to "inflict a greater holocaust" on Palestinians. Similarly, a growing number of rabbis associated with the two largest religious camps in
Israel, the Haredi ultra-Orthodox religious sector and the national Zionist religious sector, issuing one edict after the other, permitting soldiers to murder at will Palestinian civilians, including children, on the grounds that in war all among the enemy population ought to be treated as combatants, including children.

One might imagine that this is exaggerated, but it is not. Recently Rabbi Yisrael Rosen, director of the Tsomet Institute, a religious seminary attended by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, declared: "All
of the Palestinians must be killed; men, women, infants, and even their beasts." And the chief rabbi of the City of Safad, Shmuel Eliyahu, urged the state and the army recently to hang the children of
a Palestinian fighter who last month attacked the Merkaz Haarav Centre, run for Jewish settlers in West Jerusalem, killing eight pre-military Talmudic students in retaliation for the killing by the Israeli army of more than 130 Palestinians, most of them innocent civilians, in the Gaza Strip.

The mushrooming of fascist impulses is not confined to the religious sector. In March, the Israeli media quoted Knesset members and former cabinet ministers as threatening to extend discriminatory laws against non-Jews in ways reminiscent of Nuremberg Laws passed in Nazi Germany. One Israeli Knesset member reportedly told his Arab colleague: "the day will come when we will kick you out of this house."

Such instances raise no eyebrows in a country where some rabbis, like David Batsri, openly teach that non-Jews are animals and donkeys. A recent opinion survey published this week showed that as many as 75 per cent of Israeli Jews support ethnic cleansing of Arabs from mandate Palestine -- Israel proper and the occupied Palestinian territories of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
Understandably, the poll drew angry reactions from the Israeli Arab community. Jamal Zahalqa, an Israeli Arab Knesset member, suggested that Arabs are being treated in ways similar to the way Jews were treated in the Third Reich ahead of World War II.

"The hateful smell of racism and fascism is wafting everywhere in this country. You must know that we didn't come to Israel from abroad... On the contrary; it was Israel that invaded us. We are the indigenous people of the land, and we receive our legitimacy from our belonging to this land, not from having Israeli citizenship," he said.

Zahalqa described the poll as "additional evidence underscoring the growing rampancy of racism and fascism in Israel as a result of the ongoing waves of hate against everything and anything Arab."

The fears of Zahalqa and other Israeli Arabs are real. Recently, hundreds of Arab residents from Jaffa, Lod and Ramleh took to the streets to protest against the planned eviction by the state of thousands of Arab residents from Jaffa. Authorities had issued warrants for the evacuation and destruction of hundreds of homes, claiming infringements on building regulations. The state also claimed that, "the families [had] lost the right to continue living in their homes, since these homes belonged to their parents ... "

"We are here and we won't leave. We will either live on this land or die on this land. We will not let you touch our lands or our holy places," said Sheikh Raed Salah, leader of the Arab movement in Israel. "All your rulings belong in the trashcan. We are not afraid of you. We will continue to live in our homeland," he added.

Last year, Richard Falk, a renowned American Jewish professor of international law and practice, wrote an article entitled "Slouching toward a Palestinian holocaust," in which he warned that Israel was moving towards the perpetration of a holocaust against the Palestinians. "Is it an irresponsible overstatement to associate the treatment of Palestinians with this criminalised Nazi record of collective atrocity? I think not," said Falk.

Justifying the Israel-equals-Nazi analogy, Falk argued that developments in Gaza (the blockade against its estimated 1.5 million inhabitants), were especially disturbing because they expressed
vividly a deliberate intention on the part of Israel and its backers to subject an entire human community to life- endangering conditions of maximal cruelty. "The suggestion that this pattern of conduct is a holocaust-in-the-making represents a rather desperate appeal to the governments of the world and to international public opinion to act urgently to prevent these current genocidal tendencies from culminating into a collective tragedy," Falk wrote.

In sum, from the standpoint of fascism, Israel has much to celebrate in terms of political and military achievements. But in terms of justice, morality and humanity, one struggles to name a country on
earth that so openly practices oppression and racism. As such Israel, on its 60th birthday, remains what it was when born six decades ago: a state built on blood, murder, theft and lies.

Is Israel about to change its ways? Don't hold your breath, Israeli leaders might say. Unless, that is, you're Palestinian.

Lithuania blocked the commencement of talks with Russia, proposing to include four declarations in the negotiations mandate, i.e. the issue of cut-off oil supply via the Druzhba pipeline, the necessity to deal with frozen conflicts in Georgia and Moldova, cooperation in solving occurrences of Jan. 13th and the Medininkai massacre as well as support for exiled persons, who are returning to the Baltic States.

Foreign ministers of Lithuania, Sweden, Poland and current EU presidency holder Slovenia, decided in a meeting in Vilnius on May 11 to include issues brought up by Lithuania to be included in talks with Russia, however this agreement was not endorsed by ambassadors of EU member states in a meeting Tuesday. Ambassadors plan to continue discussions next week.

A Lithuanian diplomat announced this information to BNS May 14 that;"We eliminate such attempts. If they will continue, the mandate might not be approved by May 26 (GAERC)".

Following a meeting with Lithuanian President Adamkus on 14 May, Vaitiekunas told the press of having informed the Head-of-State of receiving a few proposals by various countries with regards to the negotiations mandate, and they are currently being considered.

"A wide arsenal of different versions of what shape our answers might take is available, and they are currently being coordinated through diplomatic channels, however, when it comes to the main, primary, fundamental issues of Lithuania's interests, we are not going to back down. (...) We are risking European solidarity", the foreign minister asserted.

According to the BNS he also noted that the new proposals are most concerned with the issue of frozen conflicts and added that he can reveal neither who is making the proposals, nor what matter they concern.

"In general terms, I am telling you that yes, the main question under revision, is that of frozen conflicts, a declaration on frozen conflicts. Countries stand on different grounds when it comes to geographical and geopolitical positions. Take the United Kingdom, Spain, France - their interests are different and we are simply defending our interests by assuming this position here and now. The EU will have to go a long way in order to learn how to reflect interests unanimously and speak with one voice", Vaitiekunas explained, noting that an acceptable compromise will be sought out on the issue.

The BNS writes that the minister also noted that he cannot yet reveal what form Lithuania's demands should take on in the mandate, and in what phrasing should it appear. The minister said that this would mean having to reveal stances on the negotiations mandate and would therefore make them less efficient.

Não é saudade de ninguém em especial, aliás nem sei se é a alguem que remete essa saudade; é eu me olhar no espelho e sentir alguma coisa faltando, algo que eu nunca tive mas que sei que me pertence.

Esse post é um review que eu fiz sobre o livro "Ensaio sobre a cegueira" do José Saramago. Com esse livro, ou por causa dele (tanto faz), ele ganhou o prêmio nobel de literatura, sagrando-se assim o primeiro escritor de língua portuguesa a ganhar o prêmio nobel.

Pois bem, eu livro e achei uma merda. Tá certo que não é uma merda completa, mas o final é muito sem graça - o que vc espera que aconteça, acontece e da forma mais sem graça possível. Confesso que no começo do livro, eu fiquei impressionado com a narrativa, eu me sentia como se eu estivesse lá, ficava até sem fôlego lendo dado o seu estilo sem muitos pontos parágrafos. Mas nem por causa disso tudo o final deixa de ser sem graça.

Quando chega lá pelo meio do livro, dá uma canseira e dá vontade de pular logo pro final só pra confirmar que todo mundo volta a enxergar...ops...spoiler :P Talvez tenha sido por isso que eu levei uns 6 meses pra ler esse livro.

Mas voltando ao tema. Eu recebi um comentário nesse post dizendo que eu sou um ignorante. Quem sabe eu não tenha conseguido capturar a grandeza do saramago e seja mesmo um ignorante. Mas se eu não gostei, eu vou dizer que gostei só pra ser cool? eu não!

Outro autor que eu tenho a leve impressão que muita gente diz que acha o máximo só pra 'se aparecer' é o Guimarães Rosa. Sério, Guimarães Rosa é uma merda! Quem lê aquilo e consegue entender? Aquelas frases sem pé nem cabeça que a galera se deleita. Prefiro o Paulo Coelho... ok, forcei... :P

Nesse bolo também entra Chico Buarque. Escutar chico é cult, é cool. Eu gosto de algumas músicas do chico buarque (umas 5, 6) mas não aguento ouvir toda a discografia dele a fio. A do Megadeth eu consigo na boa! hehe

With Kosovo's declaration of independence you would have thought that this would have been more than enough ammunition for Serbia's nationalist party,  who would have stopped EU accession talks and instead allied Serbia with Russia, to win the Serbian general election.

But instead President Boris Tadic's moderate pro-European party won a mandate giving majority. As Dave Keating from the blog Gulf Stream Blues put it:

"There will be wide speculation as to whether the victory is a result of the 'carrot and stick' approach adopted by Brussels over the past few weeks. Two weeks ago a deal between the European Union and Serbia to fast-track its membership in the union was reached. The pre-membership pact with Belgrade that would enhance trade and cooperation and speed the process by which Serbia could eventually join the union. Though there was hesitation by some EU nations to come to such an agreement because of a lack of cooperation by Belgrade in handing over war criminals to the international court trying people for crimes committed during the Yugoslav civil wars, they eventually relented in order to show Serbian voters that there would be a reward for putting the moderate party in power."

Russia seems to have been a bit quiet on this. Perhaps they have been a bit too occupied with rolling nuclear missile launchers and tanks up and down Red Square in their victory day parade reminiscent of the old Soviet days. But this does bring up my point in this post. Russia believes that it still has "influence" over its former Soviet bloc countries even though a large number of them have since joined the EU and Nato, with Serbia looking to be the next to join "the other side".

Is it time for Russia to finally acknowledge that for all its political rhetoric during the Putin years, that its no longer as influential as it thinks it is?

Vi har velat markera, och även stridit för, det vi tyckt vara riktigt och rätt i frågor som rört vår försörjning och vårt styrelseskick. Därför är det för mig mycket konstigt att majoriteten av oss låtit oss bli manipulerade att tacka ja till EU. Är det så att vi i vår enfald har trott att vi i Sverige skulle tillföra så mycket nytänkande att alla medlemsstater i EU skulle be oss om råd att förändra och förbättra regionerna som inte har det som vi? 

När vi inte ens i vår svenska demokrati kan nå fram till våra politiker för att påverka vårt eget  lands ekonomi, hur skulle vi då kunna nå EU:s styrande i frågor som påverkar Sveriges ekonomi väldigt negativt. Det som är aktuellt just nu för mig är frågan om att allmännyttan ska drivas helt affärsmässigt enligt EU:s regler. Om vi säger -Nej, så vill vi inte ha det. Vad händer då med "självstyret" i Sverige? Blir det som vår lilla kommun riskerar kanske. Vi blir tvångsförvaltade av någon större enhet? Vad hände då med vår demokrati?

Jag kanske är naiv som fortfarande tror att vi har något att säga till om i våra allmänna val, men det är vår absoluta rätt, och skyldighet att fortsätta påverka makten med våra åsikter.

Jag är definitivt inget undantag som har den åsikten att alla människor ska ha samma möjligheter att välja både utbildning, arbete och vart och hur man vill bo. Jag accepterar inte, att den som inte har omåttliga ekonomiska resurser, inte ska ha möjlighet till någon dräglig bostad.

A residência médica é umas 10 vezes mais concorrida do que o vestibular, pra algumas especialidades. Pra outras, não. Por exemplo, esse ano sobrou vaga pra Pediatria. O negócio é que você, depois de ralar 6 anos pra se formar nesse outro plano de existência que é a medicina, quer fazer residência em um lugar bom. Você quer se dar a esse luxo. E são nesses lugares bons em que a concorrência é pior do que o vestibular. E é nesses lugares bons que você vai deixar de ter vida, sábados, domingos, feriados, enfim, você vai pertencer a um hospital. E ainda vai ter que ter todas as respostas na ponta da língua pra não ganhar um olhar de desprezo ou umas palavras amargas de um chefe que se esqueceu como é ser residente (ou, mais provavelmente, quer vingança). Mas, paradoxalmente, é com isso que todo médico recém-formado (ou prestes a jurar hipócrates) sonha. É a famosa residência dos sonhos. Uma boa e escravizante formação.

Acontece que a maioria das pessoas não quer nem pensar no que pode acontecer caso elas não passem no concurso de residência. Pois então, vou esclarecer: a pessoa volta pro curso (ou não), e se prepare, porque é lá que a ficha cai de verdade. Vai dar uma deprimidinha e emagrecer (ou não). Seus pais vão reagir de alguma forma, pois tinham expectativas (ou não). Vai procurar um plantão de emergência ou CTI pra ganhar uma experiência e um dinheirinho (ou não). E vai tocar sua vida pra frente, vai sobreviver. Como eu estou fazendo. Essas coisas podem acontecer com maior ou menor intensidade quando se sofre uma “derrota”. Eu caí num buraco que parecia não ter fim, me entreguei à angústia, a um desespero avassalador.

Mas cortei o cabelo, abri um blog-brechó, me apaixonei pelo budismo, entrei na terapia e estou subindo, estou tentando rise above. Degrau, por degrau.

Trebuie să recunosc că îmi este destul de greu să vorbesc despre acest subiect... Poate şi pentru că în urmă cu vreo lună sau cam aşa nici nu vroiam să aud de aşa ceva... eram foarte încuiat la cap... nu concepeam cum ar fi posibil dintr-un om, după decesul acestuia să i se preleve organele şi să-i fie transferate, donate unui altuia... sigur înţelegeam cât de cât că era cam ultima şansă a celui ce urma să primească organul dau tot nu credeam că este bine să faci aşa ceva...

Asta în urmă cu o lună, când, sincer să vă zic nu mai ştiu pe ce program de televiziune am văzut un preot, cred că greco-catolic(nu că ar avea vreo importanţă... eu oricum sunt ortodox... pentru că tot evanghelia lui Hristos o propovăduia)... spunea ceva de genul că după ce trecem dincolo... după ce ajungem, dacă ajungem în Împărăţia Domnului... vom avea un trup nou... vom fi nişte fiinţe noi... fără nevoi... fără să mai avem nevoie de mâncare, de apă, de nimic... vom avea totul... şi mai ales îl vom avea pe Dumnezeu... care ne va da tot...

Bun... să nu credeţi că înainte eram înnebunit să nu cumva să păţesc ceva, că nu mă tai, sau cine ştie ce să păţesc, să fiu bine făcut pentru Împărăţia Domnului... căci nu era aşa... pur şi simplu credeam că nu este bine să iei un organ dintr-o persoană după decesul acestuia... Eram cum vă ziceam încuiat la cap...

Pe moment nu mi-am dat seama de spusele preotului... după câtva timp am văzut un reportaj la televizor în legătură cu donatori, că sunt puţini şi tot aşa... sunt sigur că şi voi aţi văzut reportaje de genul acesta... mi-am adus aminte şi m-a pus pe gânduri... Şi după ce m-am gândit eu puţin(mai mult)... am ajuns la concluzia că nu ce avem acum la noi... ce trup avem acum este ceea ce contează cu adevărat... ci acel ceva ce vom avea dacă vom fi vrednici să stăm în prezenţa domnului...

Am dreptate sau nu?

V-aţi gândit până acum la aşa ceva? Eu da... şi înainte de asta... dar tot nu vedeam cum poate fi bine să faci aşa ceva...

Acum îmi vine în minte că este şi un ultim gest de bunătate de care poate cineva da dovadă înainte de a pleca pe un drum fără de întoarcere...

Să ştiţi că şi pe mine mă miră cum de am scris eu aşa ceva... cu un aer aşa de serios... aşa de plin de importanţă... aşa cum ar trebui tratat acest subiect...

Pentru că numai noi ne putem ajuta între noi oamenii... căci nu au să vină animalele sau extratereştri să ne ajute( OK la faza asta am cam exagerat)...

Şi chiar că acum aş fi de acord ca organele să-mi fie prelevate spre a fi donate în caz de aşa ceva(Doamne apără şi păzeşte să nu fie nevoie de aşa ceva cât mai multă vreme!)

Sper că am reuşit să vă pun cât decât pe gânduri...

Şi poate am să continui acest subiect odată şi odată...

Como contei a semana passada aqui, depois de uma ação um pouco "impulsiva" vendi o meu carro (e, não, não estou arrependida). E, no domingo, como é um dia mais calmo, resolvi estrear o transporte público novamente, depois de alguns anos sem saber o que é pegar ônibus ou metrô. Tenho que confessar que esta vida de "pequeno-burguesa", me acostumou mal, e me deixou, vamos dizer assim com uma certa falta de equilíbrio (já conto). A vida "pequeno-burguesa" também me mostrou que morar no Brooklin, em São Paulo, não é uma boa opção para quem vai andar de ônibus. :)

O trajeto mais longo que faço (na vida pessoal) é para a casa da mamma. Visto que é necessário pegar o "transporte" intermunicipal. De carro, fácil, fácil... Santo Amaro, Nove de Julho, 23 de maio, Tiradentes, Marginal do Tietê e Dutra. Pronto. Cheguei.

De transporte público... tem toda (vamos dizer assim) uma preparação (que agora eu sei....).

ANTES DE SAIR DE CASA É FUNDAMENTAL

(Pensamento Insistente: porque eu não pensei nisso antes, porque eu não pensei nisso antes, porque eu não pensei nisso antes?????)

• Jeans (não, não dá para andar de saia)
• Salto? Nem pensar... a não ser que você queira ganhar bolhas gigantescas nos seus dedinhos, que eram bonitinhos (voltamos a fase sapatilhas).
• Cabelo? Preso... é claro...(por que ele se enrrosca facilmente na bolsa alheia.. e você fica sem parte dele no trajeto)
• Internet é fundamental (para descobrir o nome dos ônibus, e não sair perguntando para estranhos).
• Tempo? coloque duas vezes mais o tempo que você gasta de carro e não uma (sempre otimista!!!)
• Presente da mamma (numa mochila). Mesmo com a sensação de ainda estar na fase "escolar"... desista das "sacolinhas" cheias de laços. Elas rasgam. Believe me.
• Livro (importantíssimo para a boa manutenção da paciência).
• MP3 (por que você não pode ficar ouvindo a conversa alheia).
• Ah... dinheiro... Não, eles não aceitam débito automático pelo cartão...rs..

Depois de esperar cerca de meia hora no ponto de ônibus, que me levaria até a estação de metrô, me rendi às facilidades do táxi. Tá bom, tá bom... desisti fácil. Mas, fiquei sabendo (por uma "companheira" que também aguardava o transporte público) que eles reduzem a frota aos domingos... Hunf! Pois bem, dei uma "carona" para a moça do ponto, com seus três filhos, no táxi.

Até ai tudo bem, se o menininho bonitinho não tivesse deixado cair o pacote de salgadinho de cebola em mim. Então, na listinha acima dos "preparativos", não esquecer: não gaste seu perfume francês para passear se no final você vai acabar cheirando salgadinho de cebola mesmo.... Ok, Ok... crianças.... são lindas... (longe de mim....). Por isso, ainda prefiro "adotar" o G. :) Ou, continuar minha "vocação" materna-canina com minha fofinha Lhasa Apso (que sempre acorda de mal-humor, especialmente no frio... ela não quer sair da cama, e dá umas rosnadas...rs..)... Eu rosno para ela também... e ficamos felizes depois do café da manhã com muito carboidrato e geléias...

Mas, voltando ao transporte público. Algumas constatações interessantes:

• Tá certo que eu não posso dizer muito, depois de ficar cheirando a salgadinho de cebola, mas, no geral, as pessoas esquecem de usar desodorante...
• Existe uma grande concentração de gente feia por metro quadrado (tá, eu sei, é preconceito... mas é verdade).
• As pessoas se observam o tempo inteiro... e não sorriem, e não pedem licença, bom dia então, vixe... nem pensar!
• As pessoas utilizam o ombro alheio (entenda, o meu), para dormir.
• Não se pode dar dinheiro para todos os pedintes (sob pena de você ficar sem dinheiro para fazer o caminho de volta)
• As "moçinhas" de hoje em dia esquecem de "cobrir" a barriga ou a roupa encolheu depois de lavar. Ainda que a barriga das "moçinhas" tenha, no mínimo, uns 100 centimetros.
• A cena acima me fez lembrar do comercial da gelatina do "bocão"..rs.. (alguém lembra..rs)

Depois do táxi, do metrô (meusssssssss deusssssssssss... quantos caixas têm o metro? fiquei uns 15 minutos na fila de um tal de bilhete fácil, depois descobri que não era a que eu deveria estar, depois da moçinha do caixa me olhar com uma cara de ET...), finalmente entrei em um ônibus para chegar até a casa da mamãe... E, neste momento, descobri que tenho problemas para me equilibrar...

Cena:

Entrei... o ônibus vazio! Feliz da Vida....!!!! Que maravilha..... Subi os primeiros degraus, ia me aproximando da catraca, quando o motorista acelera.................. e eu...... vou junto!

Pausa para a explicação (ilustrativa):

1. Imagine a Corrida da São Silvestre.... (Imaginou?)
2. Imagine a linha de chegada....  (imaginou?)
3. Imagine esse atleta chegando correndo com os braços levantados... (imaginou?)
4. Imagine também a música Carruagem de Fogo (se você não se lembra, e é imprescindível para ilustrar esse post, por favor, veja abaixo).

Dito tudo isso...

Depois que o motorista acelerou... eu passei correndo pela catraca... nem vi o cobrador...corri todos os bancos, e só parei no último banco, grudado no vidro de trás do ônibus, com os joelhos em cima do banco... e o nariz no vidro... e os braços levantados (um, com um livro... o outro tentando salvar o presente da mamma)...

Depois que consegui me virar novamente, em direção ao cobrador (lembrem-se... não usem saias, nem saltinhos... não é uma boa idéia...), vi que tinha umas seis cabeças de outros passageiros olhando para trás... Eu me coloquei novamente no saltinho... (maldito)... e refiz o trajeto da corrida para pagar a passagem.... e o cobrador: "a senhora se desequilibrou não?". Eu: "Não... não... estou treinando para a São Silvestre".

Finalmente, depois de duas horas e meia cheguei para almoçar, cheirando salgadinho, com a roupa amassada, presente destruído, livro esquecido no ônibus, pés doendo, e com alguns fios a menos de cabelo. E, ainda tive que dar explicações do "sumiço" do carro...

Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water

According to the Bulgarian News Network the Bulgarian government is heading towards a vote of no confidence from the European Union due to the scandal. These were the words of former Bulgarian Prime Minister Ivan Kostov, who is also the leader of the political party Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria (DSB). Kostov spoke at a DSB leadership meeting about the fact that the European Union has already frozen funding for Bulgaria on a number of programs, such as PHARE, ISPA, and SPARAD. According to Kostov, these funds have been frozen due to rampant corruption in Bulgaria. He also fired away at Bulgaria's ruling coalition, stating that they are just trying to divert attention away from the "upcoming failure of Bulgaria's EU membership."

This raises an important question about the idea of reforming a nation after it joins the European Union club. Perhaps I am too much of an idealist and a Bulgariaphile, but I am under the impression that the efforts of the Bulgarian government to reform are genuine. The same aforementioned Economist article that cited widespread recalcitrance among new EU members also noted that the scandal in Bulgaria had forced the resignation of on the Minister of the Interior, Rumen Petkov. At least something is being done to clean house in the Bulgarian government. Of course sacking a minister is not the same as undertaking sometimes painful structural reform, but it is a start. It is certainly an improvement over the 1970s, when the Bulgarian security services were essentially international arms dealers and drug traffickers.

The important question is, how much leverage does Brussels really have once a country joins the European Union? The Economist seems to think that the answer to this question is "very little" but Bulgarian politicians such as Ivan Kostov seem to take Brussels just as seriously now as they did before joining the EU. Now, much of Kostov's words may just be the politics of opposition, but the fact is Brussels still has purse strings, and Bulgaria would very much like to get its hands on EU funds, especially ones it has already been promised. A no confidence vote is very serious business. World opinion the past few weeks has shifted away from Bulgaria being this little hidden gem of a country to Bulgaria being like a little Russia- becoming less free and more mean- much like it was treated in the western media during the Cold War (though not without some justification). Bulgaria, in my opinion, is not backsliding, it is taking the corruption scandal and the possibility of a no confidence vote very seriously, both government and opposition alike.

23 Communist and Workers’ Parties from 20 EU member-states and accession countries participated in the meeting held in Athens on 14-15 March 2008 with the theme, “The New Treaty, developments in the EU and peoples’ struggle.” Some parties that could not attend sent messages of support to this initiative. The participants in the meeting made a favourable assessment of the numerous joint initiatives, campaign actions and statements of the previous year. The importance of increasing joint and coordinated initiatives was noted, along with the need for closer coordination in the movements and institutions, and the promotion of forms of cooperation and broader fronts of struggle, while respecting the sovereignty of each party.

The participants exchanged views on the results of the Spring European Council meeting that prelude a stepping up of the Lisbon Strategy. They noted the decision about the “Mediterranean Union”, the consequences of which need to be thoroughly studied.

It was underscored that the development of the EEC, and the EU that followed was the choice of the leading powers and Western European monopoly capital. It promotes neoliberal measures favouring the monopolies and the concentration and accumulation of capital. It cannot represent a genuine counterweight to the USA in favour of the people. With the Reform Treaty, new steps are being taken towards the configuration of the EU as an imperialist, economic, political and military block contrary to the interests of the workers and the peoples. The sovereignty and independence of peoples and countries are being further undermined. The participants vehemently denounced the adoption of the Treaty without consulting the people. The unilateral secession of Kosovo from Serbia was condemned and concern was expressed about its consequences.

The attack on labour and trade union rights is escalating in the name of “modernization”, of “competitiveness” and “flexicurity”, and in order to ensure the profits of capital. The unacceptable court decisions regarding the cases of “LAVAL” and “Viking Lines” must be strongly denounced as they run against the elementary right to strike and the trade union liberties. Working people are becoming more and more concerned about the situation that is being created regarding labour relations, salaries, pensions, the rise of prices, social security, and workplace accidents; about the handing over of education and the health and welfare systems to big capital; about the intensification of exploitation, the growth in unemployment, and the increasingly repressive measures against immigrants. They have become alarmed by the attacks on small farmers, the self-employed, craftsmen and tradesmen for the benefit of the monopoly consortiums, by the marked increase in anti-democratic measures, the upsurge and the state-sponsoring of anti-communism, of racism, of xenophobia. Especially grave are the consequences on the situation of the working people of the new EU countries from Eastern Europe.

Working people express concern about the aggressiveness of the EU towards the countries of the Mediterranean, of the Middle East and Latin America; about the imposition of measures against the rights of working people in accession countries; about the militarization of the EU and its collaboration with NATO and the US in imperialist wars and intervention; about the armaments race, the establishment of the US “anti-missile shield” and the return of the option of a first nuclear strike.

Developments in the EU vindicate the forces that opposed the Treaties of Maastricht, of Nice, of Amsterdam. That had said ‘NO’ to the EMU, the Schengen Treaty, and the “EU Constitution”. They vindicate all those who today continue to fight against the European Union of big capital, a directorate of the big, neo-liberal and militaristic powers. In this way our parties contributed, and will continue to do so, to the strengthening of the people’s challenge to the EU, thus keeping alive the hope for a different future.

Nowadays the impasse of neoliberal policies has become tangible. There can be no solutions in favour of the people without disputing the Maastricht Treaty and the “4 freedoms” that are enshrined within it (free circulation of capital, commodities, services and workforce). Social-democracy and its allies, the “centre-left” have been tested as well. The people have accumulated significant experience; they realize that these forces do not represent an alternative in line with their interests.

Today, the need for a real alternative in opposition to big capital and imperialism becomes imperative; an alternative which would keep the door open for a rupture with the process of European capitalist integration and for the socialist perspective. Through the important struggles of the working class, the left and progressive forces and the anti-imperialist movements the possibility of a different situation, of a Europe of equal cooperation, of social and economic progress, and of peace emerges even more powerfully. It was emphasized that the struggle should be stepped up:

- For a strong NO to the Lisbon Treaty. Support for the “NO” campaign in Ireland

- For the right of every people to decide upon their destiny and path of development, with full sovereignty. This right includes the right of disassociation from the EMU, the EU and NATO as well as the socialist option.

- Against a new enlargement and expansion of NATO. For the removal of all US & NATO military bases and the dissolution of NATO. Against the deployment of the US Cold War-like “anti-missile shield”.

- Against the Bolkenstein Directive, “flexicurity”, precarious work and labour relations. For a 35-Hour workweek (7 hours per day, 5 days per week) and substantial salary and pension increases in accordance with contemporary needs and the accumulation of social wealth. Against the logic of limiting the workers’ demands to “a minimum”.

- Opposing the privatization drive in the energy sector, transport, the infrastructure, and other public services. For people’s ownership and control over the natural resources and the strategic sectors of their economies.

- Against the privatization of social security and for free-of-charge access to a universal public healthcare system. For a decrease in the age of retirement and substantial pensions rises. For free- of-charge access to upgraded public education, against the Bologna process and the invasion of capital in the educational system.

- Demanding support for the small and medium farmers and for food security.

- Against the European Army, the Common Foreign Security Policy, the doctrine of pre-emptive wars. Withdrawal of all troops serving in imperialist missions abroad (Iraq, Afghanistan, Balkans, Africa).

- Against anti-communism, bans on Communist Parties, persecutions and detentions of communists and other militants. Protesting against the rewriting of history, the rehabilitation of Nazism-fascism, as well as the unacceptable situation vis-à-vis the “non-citizens” in Latvia, Estonia and Slovenia.

- Opposing the so-called “anti-terrorist” measures, repressive and surveillance bodies and mechanisms, the curtailment of democratic rights and the limitations on trade union and political activities. Against the “Fortress Europe” - full rights for immigrant workers.

- In defence of socialist Cuba; for the abolition of the “common position” on Cuba. Solidarity with the peoples of Palestine, Venezuela, Bolivia and all peoples that struggle.

- Against the unjust free trade agreements that the EU is imposing on the countries of Africa, Mediterranean and Latin America.

The participants exchanged opinions on ways promote further the common action and cooperation in the various fronts of struggle and in face of the elections for the European Parliament of 2009.
