The journal Science recently provided their research on why individuals seek to find and impose order on an "evil" world through superstition, rituals and conspiratorial explanations by linking a loss of control to individual perceptions. Their research indicates that these people have such a need for structure that they will lie to themselves in order to trick themselves into believing connections that just are not there! Isn't religion all about making claims that are never substantiated or proven in any way?

Through a series of six experiments, the researchers showed that individuals who lacked control were more likely to see images that did not exist, perceive conspiracies, and develop superstitions. Are we to assume those that follow one of the many versions of religion or Gods basically feel they lack control over their life or the world around them?

"The less control people have over their lives, the more likely they are to try and regain control through mental gymnastics," said Galinsky. "Feelings of control are so important to people that a lack of control is inherently threatening. While some misperceptions can be bad or lead one astray, they're extremely common and most likely satisfy a deep and enduring psychological need."

I believe this is also a reason why people such as McCain and Palin and their supporters will makeup lies or misrepresent Obama. They will call him a terrorist and say he votes for sex education for babies....give me a break. McCain and Palin feel they have basically lost all control so they will lie to themselves and the world in order to get a vote.

Change your life in one minute….

Change your life in one minute….

Good starter line don’t you think? What could you possibly do in one minute that will change your life? In truth, a lot! But I will give you one idea, one simple quick idea:

Think positive about your day for 60 seconds before you get out of bed. Just lay there and think of all the positive things you can do or that will happen to you for just this one day.

See, easy as can be, no reading, no homework, just thinking. What could be easer? And it only takes 60 seconds, one small minute. And trust me, it will work. Our own outlook on life, on our day has a huge impact on how it turns out. Our own thought process plays a major role in not only how we see things, but also how those around us see things. So by spending 60 seconds thinking positive thoughts will affect the rest of your day, and all around you.

The power of positive thinking should not be overlooked, Dr. Wayne Dyer has write numerous books on the subject, he talks about the power of positive thinking, and how it can change your life. I have read him and must agree, a positive thought has much more energy than a negative one. Positive energy will carry us on our way, a negative one will hold us down.

The bible even talks about the power of positive thoughts, the story of not concerning ourselves with life, God will care for us, so why concern ourselves with it. You all know the story; Jesus is using the bird and lilies of the fields as an example. Jesus is telling us, think positively, God will care for your needs, if you allow him to. And how do we allow him to do so, but not concerning ourselves with negative thoughts.

So give it a try, just spend 60 seconds, one small minute of your day, your morning and think positive thoughts of how your day is going to turn out. Don’t concern yourself with tomorrow or the next day, just think about today and all the positive things going on in your life. They are there, nothing is ever total gloom and doom, and there is always a positive, even if it comes from a negative. But remember we project energy, either a negative or a positive; it is up to us; so why not make is positive?

“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies have spoken—who can change his plans? When his hand is raised

“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies have spoken---who can change his plans? When his hand is raised, who can stop him?” (Isaiah 14:27)

I struggle greatly when things change. Granted my body moves along with just about anything, like floating on the sea. But I don’t like change. I like schedules and time management. Our church has gone through great changes over the last 18 months and I have actually dealt with those changes much better than I thought I would. I am very confident in God’s perfect plans so even on days when I do not understand I still trust that He is with us, He knows what is going on, and He has a plan.

Have you ever compared the changes and/or trials we experience with that of the Pharisees and their reactions to Jesus? The Jewish people were waiting for the Conqueror, a King, and Savior and Jesus was not what they thought they needed. God had told them quite clearly what to expect throughout the passages of the Old Testament; starting in Genesis. However, because the Pharisees wanted their own will to be done more than God’s they were blinded by the work God was doing through one man.

No one and nothing could have shaken up the church the way Jesus did over two thousand years ago. Is there really anything so hard about the changes we go through everyday that we have to give up or complain? I don’t think so. I think, if anything, this is a time to trust that God’s will is being done and if you have questions to ask them, don’t sit and stew. Pharisees spent much time accusing and complaining but only one of them actually went to Jesus searching (John 3:1-21) and looked how enlightened Nicodemus was that night! Are we searching out God’s will in our lives or are we content blaming, criticizing, and complaining about our circumstances? Do we truly understand that our way is not always the right way and the biggest change, or event, in all of history is the very reason we are saved and can call ourselves sons and daughters of God? Praise God for change because without we wouldn’t be where we are today. Thank God for your trials because they help you grow. And thank God you live in a society where you can ask questions, worship freely, and make a difference in this world that will grow His Kingdom and bring us closer to Him.

“’For I know the plans I have for you’, says the Lord, “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Frustrated Muslim demand for larger autonomous region in Mindanao could lead to war.
DUBLIN, October

Frustrated Muslim demand for larger autonomous region in Mindanao could lead to war.

DUBLIN, October 6 (Compass Direct News) – Militant Islamists in the southern island of Mindanao have stepped up their attacks on majority-Christian villages following the failure of a peace agreement that would have enlarged an existing Muslim autonomous region there.

With Muslim commanders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in the southern Philippines yesterday saying ongoing support from the international community was necessary to prevent a full-scale war breaking out in Mindanao, both Muslim and Christian residents in the disputed territories were fearful of what the future might hold.

“The problem is that many people living in these areas don’t want to be part of a Muslim autonomous region,” a source in Mindanao who preferred to remain anonymous told Compass.

“The closer you get to these zones, the more nervous people are,” he said. “The town of Kolambugan, where most of the fighting took place in mid-August, became a virtual ghost town for a while. It had a population of 25,000. But people are slowly returning to their homes.”

A Christian family from the area said many people were afraid to sleep at night because they kept hearing reports that they would be attacked at midnight.

“When MILF forces attack Christian villages, Muslim neighbors are afraid that Christians will retaliate against them, even though they have nothing to do with the violence,” the source added. “This has happened in the past.”

He also explained that some moderate Muslims are drawn to support the MILF because the rebels claim the Christians have stolen their ancestral homelands. Communities in Mindanao often struggle with extreme poverty.

“If MILF is successful in gaining control over these lands, the people assume that their economic situation will improve,” he said. “So although they want the fighting to stop, they sympathize with the MILF.”

While the conflict is primarily political, religion plays a significant role. As a member of the Moro Youth League stated in an Aug. 5 national television interview in the Philippines, “As a Muslim, in order to live in a righteous way, you need to be living under sharia [Islamic] law and with an Islamic government. We believe we have the right to fight for this.”

Other Youth League members on the program agreed that sharia was a primary objective of autonomy, and that Islam was the only “real path of doing anything in this world.”

Violence Erupts

Some 2,000 MILF supporters yesterday held a protest march in Marawi city, Lanao del Sur, appealing to the United Nations and the Organization of the Islamic Conference to compel the Philippine government to revive the aborted peace agreement that would have enlarged the existing Muslim autonomous region in the south.

Breakaway MILF commanders on Aug. 18 attacked several majority-Christian villages after the Supreme Court prevented the Aug. 5 signing of the Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain (MOA-AD). The agreement potentially would have given the MILF power to establish an Islamic state governed by sharia law.

Christian leaders in Mindanao appealed to the Supreme Court when they realized that if they voted against inclusion in the proposed Bangsamoro Juridical Entity (BJE), their majority-Christian villages would become small islands in the midst of MILF-administered territory. As a result, they feared, they would be forced to move elsewhere.

Incensed by the 11th-hour stalling of the agreement, three MILF commanders on their own initiative led attacks against towns in North Cotabato and Lanao del Norte provinces on Aug. 18, burning homes, seizing livestock and killing at least 37 people. Another 44,000 residents immediately fled the area.

When some Christian residents armed themselves in defense, Secretary of Interior Ronaldo Puno warned that anyone carrying weapons would be disarmed.

The MILF has only 11,000 active fighting men, according to local estimates. But by Aug. 20, the National Disaster Coordinating Council had reported a total of 159,000 people displaced by the rebel attacks.

The Philippine army quickly retaliated, sweeping villages in an attempt to seize the rebel commanders.

After two weeks of violent clashes, the Philippine government officially abandoned the MOA-AD. Spokeswoman Lorelei Fajardo said President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo would seek a new agreement based on consultation with legislators and local politicians rather than negotiations with the MILF.

Furthermore, the government would concentrate on the “disarmament, demobilization and rehabilitation” of MILF cadres, Fajardo said.

In response, MILF leaders rejected any renegotiation of the peace deal with Arroyo’s administration.

Overcoming Prejudice

An opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on Aug. 7 stated that the MOA-AD would only reinforce prejudices between Christian and Muslim communities.

Under the agreement, WSJ claimed, the government would further divide Mindanao into Muslim and Christian enclaves, increasing the likelihood of territorial disputes. Separating Muslims from the rest of Philippine society, it stated, would encourage a vision already held by MILF to help create a pan-Islamic state covering several countries in the region, including Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

Finally, the WSJ said, less Philippine control of Mindanao would “invite even more terrorist activity in an area that already has strong ties to al Qaeda.”

While there are proven terrorist leanings in groups such as the MILF and the Abu Sayyaf, not all area Muslims approve of or engage in such activities.

Camilo Montesa, a key figure in peace negotiations, in his blog on Aug. 30 described an encounter with a young man who believed that Muslim residents would readily seize property from Christians once the BJE were formed.

Others told Montesa that, “Muslims were scouting and marking the big houses of Christians in Cotabato and staking a claim over them in anticipation of the signing of the peace agreement.”

“The hearts and minds of the people are the battlefields, and not some hill or base camp,” Montesa concluded. “There is a limit to what arms and war can produce ... It is unfortunate that we are so divided as a people at this point in our national life.”

Reclaiming ‘Ancestral Domains’

As Islamic identity strengthened in the Middle East after World War II – and as many Philippine Muslims traveled to study in Middle Eastern countries – certain sectors of the Bangsamoro population became committed to reclaiming “ancestral domains.”

Their claims dated back to the rule of the Sultanate of Sulu, which existed prior to Spanish colonial rule in the 1500s, and the establishment of the Commonwealth of the Philippines in 1935. When the last sultan died in 1936, the fledgling Philippine government refused to recognize his heir, effectively eradicating the traditional Bangsamoro power base.

When the Philippines became a republic in 1946, its constitution allowed for the establishment of an autonomous region in Muslim Mindanao. Initially the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) fought alone for this autonomous territory; in 1977, however, MNLF member Hashim Salamat – who had studied in Saudi Arabia – and his followers seceded from the movement and founded the rival MILF.

The Philippine government signed an agreement with the MNLF in January 1987, and territories were added to the resulting Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) through a series of plebiscites or referendums in 1989, 2001, 2002 and 2006.

MILF commanders later laid claim to a further 712 villages outside the ARMM.

Negotiations between the government and the MILF began in earnest in June 2001. Both parties were to formally sign the resulting MOA-AD on Aug. 5, a deal which could have led to the creation of the separate Bangsamoro Juridical Entity, or fully-functioning state, replacing the ARMM by 2010.

I feel like screaming. like running until my heart bursts. like cutting into my flesh and watching my blood trickle. I feel so restless it is almost unbearable. I am feeling out of control.

Stupid relationships. And me with my stupid trust. I hand it out to anyone and it is always too soon.

People say it is best to have a relationship based on friendship. At this point, due to that fact, I am finding the ending of my relationship to be severly painful.

Possibly I am realizing this right now because I am so stressed about college midterms, also I am trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. Confused and stressed out suddenly all of my insecurities fly back to me....

I feel lost.

And of course the second all of this comes together I want to call the person I have been best friends with for almost half a year. I want to hear him reassure me that everything will be okay and that everything will fall into place (even though I know no one can really know that...) I want him to hold me and just be there. I want to feel like I am not alone in this.

I am weak and struggling. My old and unhealthy habits are tempting me. They had been hiding away somewhere in the back of my heart and mind... and now they are always somewhere on the edge of my thoughts. Today they are stronger then ever.

http://www.themoneymasters.com/

THE MONEY MASTERS is a 3 1/2 hour non-fiction, historical documentary that traces the origins of the political power structure. The modern political power structure has its roots in the hidden manipulation and accumulation of gold and other forms of money. The development of fractional reserve banking practices in the 17th century brought to a cunning sophistication the secret techniques initially used by goldsmiths fraudulently to accumulate wealth. With the formation of the privately-owned Bank of England in 1694, the yoke of economic slavery to a privately-owned "central" bank was first forced upon the backs of an entire nation, not removed but only made heavier with the passing of the three centuries to our day. Nation after nation has fallen prey to this cabal of international central bankers.

The success of the central banking scheme developed into a far-reaching plan described by President Clinton's mentor, Georgetown Professor Carroll Quigley, "to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the system was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank....sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the levels of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Several short-lived attempts to impose the central banking scheme on the United States were defeated by the patriotic efforts of Presidents Madison, Jefferson, Jackson, Van Buren and Lincoln. But with the passage of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, America was firmly lashed to the same yoke, so that a small number of very rich men have been able to lay upon the masses a yoke little better than slavery itself. That yoke inevitably grows heavier with ever-compounding interest, and totals over $20 trillion of debt owed by the American people today ($80,000 per American) ultimately to these bankers.

This vast accumulation of wealth concentrates immense power and despotic economic domination in the hands of the few central bankers "who are able to govern credit and its allotment, for this reason supplying, so to speak, the life-blood to the entire economic body, and grasping, as it were, in their hands the very soul of the economy so that no one dare breathe against their will."

Daily we have issues and problems that are beyond our control. We are told to stand up and fight back. But what is this “thing” we are suppose to be fighting. It’s an entity that there is no really fighting. A one-sided struggle in which there is no winner. It’s a battle within ourselves that we fight. This struggle can lead to an overwhelming internal battle. This battle for me at times is intense and since it lacks an outward focus, I generally internalize everything. So why when I don’t like my life being so out of control, do I crave to give up what little control that I do have? I don’t really know but here are a few of my thoughts that come to mind.

I love being tied up. I think, don’t know, but think that it’s the ability to feel and struggle against an outside entity..ie the rope…which focuses my internal battle on an outward object in a safe manner that doesn’t harm anyone…least of all me. I think that it’s also the one time where it’s not so such giving up control, but giving into the fact that there is no control. It’s an illusion of the mind, and by letting go of that illusion if only for a time allows for the release of all the pent up emotions that have been internalized in that illusion of having things under control. I don’t know if that makes any sense but it’s just my thoughts.

And as I struggle with my own thoughts, emotions, and issues in my life and the more out of control that I feel the more that I crave that time when I am able to give into it and release everything. To let go of all illusions, and let’s face it…it’s a release in more than one way.

This is a very simple animated version of Alex Jones' talk on the fraudulent left-right 2-party paradigm that we are all locked into.

It is very important for us all to realize that we are living under a simple but clever system that has been designed to contain revolution whilst projecting the illusion of being a free, fair and open democracy. The 2-party system provides firm support for the elite to implement their agenda from the top down, whilst the ordinary people at the grassroots level squabble between themselves over which political party is the best. In reality, it doesn't matter which of the two parties you vote for because the same agenda will unfold regardless. Hence, both parties are controlled at the very top by the same force.

On November 20th 1942 the US ordered seizure of Nazi German banking operations in New York that were being run by… Prescott Bush, (grandfather of George W.

There has been a quiet transfer of power from President George W. Bush to Vice President Cheney. The attempt now is to install a president who will die in office and who’s vice president is nothing if not the perfect public face of the puppet government.

Already, terrorist attacks and financial crisis have been used to transfer legislative/judicial power to the executive branch. The idea is to move real control and therefore real accountability away from the president to unaccountable levels where no checks exist and when decisions have no consequences on the decision makers. This shadow government is at the behest of the interests who have used their financial power to create wars and terror in order to manipulate democracy. Now this shadow government seeks to create economic crisis and panic in order to redistribute wealth and concentrate power even further into the hands of the real sources of the currencies of nations.

America is founded on common ground, public space; on the idea of consensus, of debate, of freedom of life and work and belief. The shadow government subverts this and weakens democracy from within like a hollow dead tree which will fall with the slightest breeze. The declaration of independence itself makes clear that the experiment of democracy is to internalize the spirit of revolution within the government so that external and violent revolution is unnecessary. But the declaration also acknowledges that the people must be stewards of their own freedom and never allow the kind of shadow government which now controls us. It is the right and duty of Americans, when the mechanisms of democracy have been subverted, to stand up and change the government.

Make no mistake about it, fundamentalists within both Christianity and Islam seek the great conflagration, both seek rapture in destruction. It is in the interests of the controllers of the currencies to maintain a constant battle between these two groups in order to keep them both ignorant of and weak enough to not be able to challenge the owners of the currencies; their goal is actually to polarize the world. Divided, all can be controlled. Our shadow government has the same addenda and the same owners as Al Qaeda. Confuse with lies, create fear with violence, and divide the population through sexism, racism, and prejudice.

Just as Jesus' philosophy was co-opted and institutionalized to become the very thing which Jesus fought against; so the founding fathers’ philosophy of freedom was institutionalized and turned into the exact opposite of its intended spirit. Throughout history each thesis or movement is counterpoised by its antithesis or opposite. It is in the interests of the owners of the currencies to keep this antithesis balanced and profit from it. The real question of any forward movement of history is whether the living spirit will continue to grow, evolve and create a greater synthesis or combination of the two opposites; or whether the point and counterpoint will remain locked in an un-winnable and mutually self-destructive struggle in which both sides fight to a draw.

Will Osama Bin Laden deliver another “October surprise” in the form of a video just before the presidential election like what happened in 2004 in order to help drum up fear in order to re-elect George W. Bush?

Why were the Bin Laden family members in the United States cleared to fly out of the country in a private chartered jet after 9-11 when all other air traffic had been grounded?

A recent reading that I did, “Semiotic Domains: Is Playing Videogames A ‘Waste of Time?

A recent reading that I did, "Semiotic Domains: Is Playing Videogames A 'Waste of Time?'" discussed the literacy value of videogames when compared to other such literary values as books. Frankly, I never considered the nortion that games could have a literature value because one does not 'read' a videogame as much as one does so for a book: one plays, interacts, or immerses oneself in a videogame

However, we were discussing the notions of first-person shooters in class. In our discussion, we asserted that to a degree, videogames do have a literacy value in a sense that the player must keep track of a multitude of information at any given time. Take, for example, Command & Conquer, a military strategy game. I, as the unit commander of an assembly of soldiers on the screen, must be aware of a multitude of factors, including how many units I possess, the location of my base and its weak points, my power level and financial holdings, the location of the enemy, his assets, his capabilities, and his weaknesses. At any given time, I have enough time to process this information at a slower and more calm pace compared to first-person shooters. FPS, as they are so called, are more fast-paced, and the player must be aware of his health and armor levels, radar system, locations of friends and enemies, his weaponry and ammunition, and if he throws a headset into the mix, he must be prepared to interact with his teammates and relays commands, responses, or instructions in order to better defeat the enemy.

The point is that while videogames do not necessarily envelop the idea of literacy in the same manner as a book, there is a still a requirement to involve oneself in the information intake and processing procedures of the videogames if one hopes to better learn how to operate and survive in the field of electronic gaming.

Additionally, the idea of real-world videogame applications were discussed in the forms of the game controllers. Aside from games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, which allow you to play musical instruments as controllers, the U.S. military is utilizing X-Box 360 and Wii controllers in order to pilot their Unmanned Ground Vehicles and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, as today's soldiers are familiar with such controls. It is the videogame controller which has revolutionized the manner in which we play videogames and operate today's futuristic robot combat systems.

See, Jack Thompson? Videogames can't be all that bad!

Ooh, OCD says "yes" with the 1 month, 1 week & 1 day till I'm back home with Bear!

First day in my new job went fairly well all considered. The best bit was getting to go home at 3:30pm but being paid till 5pm. Can't complain! So yeah, I'm quite happy with it all at the moment, but no doubt it won't last - either way, since it's only for five weeks.

My mother tells me she's,

"Tried to call eight times now & will try again later"

Now, surely she noted the eight right? Surely I'm not the only one who thinks that is ever so slightly erm...freakzone?

This is what she does. She'll call my mobile & if she doesn't get an answer, she'll call the house, then my mobile, then the house, then my mobile, mobile, mobile, mobile.

During my last therapy session, August of last year, I was somewhat delighted to have her try to contact me, just so I could show my therapist exactly what I have to deal with.

Thirty missed calls & that was on my cell alone.

It's fucking rich to have her hounding me on the phone whilst she's sat sunning her ass. Never mind that I was up at 6am this morning to go work. So yeah, she may well have phoned me 8 times but I was working & actually, I only recieved two notifications that she had phoned.

Besides, surely if you're psycho-phoning someone, you'd at least have the ability to leave a fucking voicemail?? Something she evidently doesn't think is necessary.

Ah, how I read her little black book of notes about me & my attitude & my

"Wasn't wearing any make-up & looked drab."

What, because I don't dye my hair blond & put makeup on with a trowel?

So not only does she think those things about her own daughter, says those things out right to her face but she also writes it all down. I must really have looked like shit that day I tell you.

Anyway, moan over.

I'm tired, my feet are sore & I have to be up at 6 in the morning so it's off to bed with me.
