Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted it will be another three weeks before he has fully recovered from his

Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted it will be another three weeks before he has fully recovered from his summer ankle operation.

The Manchester United star came through his first full 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Aalborg in Denmark last night that propelled the Red Devils to the top of Champions League Group E.

Although he did not get on the scoresheet himself, Ronaldo did provide the cross for Dimitar Berbatov's spectacular second goal.

With Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney both picking up worrying injuries last night, Sir Alex Ferguson will be delighted with Ronaldo's progress.

But the 23-year-old confirmed he is still not 100% and United will not see the best of him until after next month's international break.

"It will be another two or three weeks before I can give 100%," he said.

"I feel very good. There is good improvement there and I am very happy to be back.

"But my ankle has still not fully recovered. I still feel it a little bit.

"But the medical staff say that is normal and I feel very confident about the future."

To most pundits' surprise that future, on an immediate basis at least, will be at Old Trafford.

Almost every observer, including most United fans, felt Ronaldo would end up at Real Madrid this season.

However, not for the first time in his career, Ferguson defied the odds, flying to Portugal for face-to-face discussions with the player that ended with him committing himself to United.

Clearly the bond between Ronaldo and Ferguson is strong, even though long-time assistant Carlos Queiroz, who has become a father figure to the former Sporting Lisbon star, has left to take charge of the Portugal national side.

And Ronaldo is relishing the opportunity of another season at Old Trafford, determined to help United keep hold of their Premier League and Champions League trophies.

"I feel very comfortable," he said.

"I had my first game a couple of weeks ago against Villarreal and everyone appreciated the way I played.

"I feel very good in the club and I feel very happy. I want to carry on like that."

Meanwhile, Ferguson faces an anxious wait to discover the extent of the damage suffered by Scholes and Rooney at the Energi-Nord Arena.

Scholes was strechered off with what Ferguson thinks is medial knee ligament damage after injuring himself turning sharply, while Rooney is expected to miss Saturday's trip to Blackburn with an ankle injury that could also sideline him for this month's World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Belarus.

"Wayne felt his ankle," confirmed Ferguson.

"We hope it is not ligament trouble but he is doubtful for Saturday I would imagine

"We do not know exactly how serious Paul's injury is at this moment in time," added the United boss.

"It looks like medial ligament damage, which would be six to eight weeks, which is a bit of a blow."

Too bad, Nadal didn’t make it to the finals, to fight agst Fed. But hey, I LOVE Fed too…

Too bad, Nadal didn't make it to the finals, to fight agst Fed. But hey, I LOVE Fed too...so I am glad Murray played Fed, so it kinda secured the cup for Fed, knowing that Fed's opponent was no Nadal at all, nothing to be afraid off. I mean come on, who does Andy Murray think he is??? He's good, yes, but how can he expect to win the Cup so easily and to nab it from Fed. He could have beaten Nadal, in my perspective, it was sheer luck! Honestly, tho I am new to the game, I haven't seen Nadal play as bad or sloppy as he did in the US Open. Even Beijing Olympic 2008 was alot more exciting. Maybe because he has high regards for Andy, he already accepted the defeat and decided to give Murray a boost, and Roger back his cup??? Thats my hypotheses....Still...I couldn't stand how "Sore" Murray looked after his defeat, I mean he's come a pretty long way, and he's made it so far and thats a great jump of achievement. He should just take it easy. Or maybe thats just the way he is. Who knows? Who cares? Not me of cos. Not yet. Not until I see that he has the same manner or personality that Nadal and Fed have during and after their matches, win or lose. Then will he gain my respect for me to wanna root for him. :P

On hindsight, Nadal won back some glory for Spain in the Semifinals in the Davis Cup, qualifying them for the Finals in december against Argentina. Excellent!!! More Nadal in the coming months!!

I missed the first match - Nadal vs Querry. Dang! Was at my regular bowling session on Fridays, so can't skip it to stay home. Oh well. Good thing I manage to catch the match between Nadal and Roddick. 3/4 of it, the rest of the match was hijacked by the soccer match that was going on between Man U and Chelsea on ch27.

As much as I love tennis more than soccer, and would not miss it for the world, Jono owns the place, and its his tv, apart and over-ruling all that is the fact that he is an avid soccer player and fanatic. So who am I to challenge his childhood passion? Besides, its his favourite team playing, so wat's his fav. is mine too. :D Although I am no avid soccer player or long time fan of Man U, I've been following Jono to almost every single of his matches and been catching matches on tv with him, and from what I observed in that match, the blardy referee was obviously alittle very biase on his judgement, giving a total of 6 yellow cards,"Whats up with that?" . Some of the yellow cards are pretty mild to me to render a yellow. I mean I know a biase referee when I see one!!!

Tho I can't play soccer to enjoy it like tennis, I do enjoy watching a good match now an then, esp when Rooney and Tevez plays. Used to like Ronaldo too, but he's since been a traitor in my eyes, now that there is a big hoo-ha gng on between all those "money-flaunting" clubs wanting to "bribe" him over to their club. I honestly think that whichever clubs he moves to, it will be a different story and future for him. No single player is that good being alone, its a game where team work plays a major part, a player can't go on solo and take on the whole opponent team with 10 players. Its all the players coming together as a team, the team work n most importantly the chemistry and respect between each and every single player , working together as a team. So good luck to him, where ever he goes. Cos from how i see it, the reason why he's doing so well, isn't entirely his own credit to claim, without Rooney, Tevez and sometimes Nani to assist him, and ferguson for grooming him, he prolly would not have made it this big anyway. To me, he is a traitor, and the desire to leave and join another "Bigger" team to boost his career, is a gng to be a bad move, how can he ever play whole heartedly for the team from now on when His heart is already somewhere else. He might just be the next David Beckham, a passe. In addition to that, I hate traitors!!! I am strongly against any form of disloyalty; unfaithfulness; betrayal, anything along those lines. Maybe its because I was born in the year of the Dog in the Chinese Calender. Its an inborne trait.

Enough said about soccer, I do not know how I managed to side track, then again, thats another significant trait of mine. Back to Tennis.

The match between Nadal and Roddick, tho Nadal kinda trashed Roddick, 6-4 6-0 6-4. It was an exciting match even before it begun. World Number 1 vs America's Number 1. Both of high standards, both sponsored by Bapolat for their racquet...(keke..thats an irrelevant comparisons...but what the hack!)...still they are different players and they have a significant difference in the number of grand slams won (duh!!! Obviously!!!). The latter of cos is the more important out of the rest of details I mentioned.

Anyway, a match between Rafael and Andy is worth staying at home to watch, even for me. Nadal was definitely up there while playing agst Andy. Damn he's just so great! Especially when he plays Clay court, seriously undefeatable! Sliding swiftly around like he should as the king of clay.

At least this match was worth the hour and a half wait, at least the way he played made it all worthwhile. The shots and returns he made agst Roddick were so great, even Ma' Man who prefers Fed to Nadal, and would usually openly express his dislike for Nadal, was in awe and speechless by the renowned King of Clay. Both of us - mostly me - were wide-eyed, shaking our heads, "wowing", and clapping hands (mostly me), basically awestruck, through the whole match. Every set was so thrilling, eventho I wanted and expected Nadal to win anyways. I was definitely on the edge of my seat, seated directly in front of the tv screen, and cheering for Nadal everytime he returns with a winning shot. I mean who can remain calm while watching Nadal. On the contrary, if its Federer playing, maybe the possibility of "calm" is more likely.

Compared to the US Open between Him and both Mardy Fish and Andy Murray, Nadal was playing a much better game on Sunday. Seriously. He was in so much control, and you can feel the fury there - The Nadal Fury - burning red hot in his eyes and his swings! The desire to put his country on the top, was definitely there on sunday, without a doubt. Its almost like, you could see the ball being shot back wrapped in fiery hot flames. (ok. abit exaggerating on my part, imaginative I am. That's why)

(Feel his Fury!!!)

On the other side of the court, I thot, Roddick looks a little uncomfortable, and kinda edgy. He was in control in the first part of the match, but later seemed alittle nervous, rushing through his serves, resulting in a quite number of faults and unforce errors, causing him his chance to fight back. Too bad! I didn't like Roddick anyway...he seems quite full of airs (no punn intended)!

There! That's my verdict or nitpicking on some stuff. I am no sports commentator nor least likely a journalist, so pardon me on my unprofessional illustrations.

I’ve just watched Manchester United fight their way to a point in a typical early season battl

I've just watched Manchester United fight their way to a point in a typical early season battle at Stamford Bridge. The best player on each team, Ronaldo and Drogba, are both far from their best and both started on the bench. The football was average, so to me, the biggest story from this team was the terrible refereeing. It is a strange thing to say in a game with very few controvercial incidents and where no single decision made by the referee decided the outcome of the game.

However, Mike Riley's performance in this game was absolutely terrible in my view. He did as much to ruin the flow of the game as was possible within the powers delegated to him through his black shirt, whistle and two cards. There was one area in particular where he showed a lack of understanding of the game: In his view, if you stay on your feet it's not a foul, if you fall down, the referee has a decision to make.

There was a two minute stretch in the second half where two incidents in Manchester United's right back area illustrated this point perfectly:

First, Christiano Ronaldo got the ball from a team mate along the sideline about half way down his own half. Frank Lampard approached him fast, and Ronaldo turned quickly and went down, as he anticipated the contact from Lampard. The contact never came, but Riley blew his whistle and awarded a free kick. Lampard was robbed of a decent goal scoring opportunity.

Shortly thereafter, Michael Ballack chased a ball down toward the corner flag. He nudged it along the sideline and Gary Neville's sliding tackle came in too late to catch the ball. Ballack avoided the tackle - had he not, he might have been facing a few weeks on the sidelines and Neville would've certainly received his second yellow card and been sent off - but his progress toward the corner flag was impeded and the ball went out for a goal kick. Since there was no contact and Ballack stayed on his feet, Riley didn't blow his whistle, in spite of the obvious foul committed by Neville.

Referees rarely award free kicks or penalties when players stay on their feet. Hence, players are forced to make a decision when they feel contact. They have to judge if the contact has been forceful enough that it's better for the team to get a dead ball situation than to try to continue their movement. If they continue their movement they can still try to win the ball and score a goal, but they're almost definitely losing the opportunity to win a free kick, since the referees only award free kicks to players who go down.

The worst consequence of this is that players sometimes decide before the contact occurs that they will go down. This is when you see diving. For most players, diving isn't a way to try to cheat your way to a free kick or penalty, it's a way to communicate to the referee that you think you have been fouled or expect to get fouled. Yes, there are many players who will dive to try to cheat when they are not fouled, but in most situations, the player is exaggerating the result of the contact in order to convince the referee to blow the whistle.

TV commentators also get this horribly wrong. They consider the merits of a penalty or free kick claim on whether or not there was contact. Any footballer knows that you do not lose your balance just because there was contact with another player. Conversely, any footballer knows that a forceful sliding tackle doesn't have to make contact with you to make you lose your balance or stop you on your progress with the ball.

If I kick the ball past you and you come at me at full pace and try to slide tackle me, I refuse to stay put and let you break my leg. I'm going to jump out of your way and that jump may cause me to fall or slow me down to where I lose the ball. When your slide tackle doesn't break my leg, that doesn't mean you didn't foul me, so I may choose not to stay on my feet when I land to force the referee to make a decision. The referee will not blow his whistle if I stay on my feet, so he is in effect forcing me to dive.

Michael Ballack chose to stay on his feet and try to catch up with the ball, but Gary Neville's sliding tackle was enough to cause him to lose possession. The commentators commended him on his honesty, but it caused his team to lose a goal scoring opportunity.

Christiano Ronaldo chose to go down because he expected Lampard to stick his foot out and he didn't want that contact. The foot never came, so there was no foul, but you can understand why Ronaldo wanted to avoid a potential crunching tackle. However, as it stood it was a horrible dive, one that probably should've earned him a yellow card. Instead it earned him a free kick. (As an aside, Ronaldo's yellow card came later, when he stayed on his feet when Salomon Kalou came at him with a two footed tackle that hit all ball. Had Mike Riley followed the rules of the game, that should've been a yellow card, as - ball or no ball - a two footed, studs first tackle is a yellow card. Ronaldo pointed this out and was booked for it.)

Riley kept rewarding players for going down in this game, interrupting play at any opportunity and awarding plenty of yellow cards - two to United players for pointing out mistakes he and his assistants had made. Rio Ferdinand got a yellow for complaining about Anelka being allowed a big goal scoring opportunity even though he was clearly off side and the other to Ronaldo for the above mentioned incident.

Diving is annoying and it needs to be cracked down upon. It starts with the referees and with weak referees like Mike Riley, diving will continue to sully the beautiful game.

Well, He's BACK ! The whiner-winger I mean.

To most Man Utd supporters, it was a relief to have him back. It is one thing to know that he has stayed back but to actually see him in the Reds ahead of his scheduled reovery period is so good.

Yes. Its Christiano Ronaldo who is back !!

The season hasn't exactly begun on a bright start. But then this is pretty similar to what had happened last time around and what happened by the end of the last season is right there for everyone to see. { but i guess i shall show off a little bit here and say "UTD were the CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE and the premiers of ENGLAND" :D }

Last time around, it was the golden trinity of Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo that did the work for UTD. At the premier league, Chelsea did come close, but were not close enough. The loss of the "special one" did play a major part in it. But for this season, UTD have an extra helping of sorts in the form of one Dimitar Berbatov. So this season, I hope the quartet of Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo and Berbatov prove to be more than enough for a resurgent Chelsea, a young Arsenal and the wily Liverpool.

The golden quartet will hopefully help in UTD securing a never-before in history of a double-double { ie win both the premiership and the champions league for 2 years in a row }

The dream of a CL victory is also fuelled by the prospects of the "special one" ending Chelsea's dream in the champions league and even if the "special one" doesn't, I'm sure Chelsea's captain fantastic JT and awesome striker NA will do their bit in supporting UTD this time around as well.

Arsenal's chances are quite dim to be honest. They play the best looking football at the start of the season only for the young legs to tire by December and the old Arsene will be staring at a trophy less cabinet yet again.

Lucky Liverpool might be the closest to challenging UTD's supremacy in Europe. They seem to be perennially lucky, specially in the CL.

But my hopes of a UTD double-double shall never falter. The eternal optimist in me shall never die.

Before Manchester United played Middlesborough the Sky Sports team were on hand to watch Christiano Ronaldo warm up for his skills and for his free-kicks.

When the whistle blows he will be ready - this is what coaches of young soccer teams must do. Don't waste the time before kick offs with long speeches and boring jogging - get your players doing what you want them to be doing in matches.

The return of English Premiership is a welcome change in the times when the quality of the sports broadcasting has depleted with the broadcasting of summer Olympics by DD sports, the national sports channel of India. There is no collation between the two channels. Clearly the Olympics is a much bigger event, but DD sports has made it smaller to such abysmal level.

Every sports fan in the country will be thankful to ESPN-STAR for agreeing to broadcast the 2012 London Olympics in India. I am sure it will increase the viewership and interest in Olympic sports in the length and breadth of the country.

This year's premiership will be thrilling as ever. Manchester United, last year's champion, will find it hard to repeat its feat if it cannot keep Chritiano Ronaldo in its grab. For now, Chelsea under its new coach, Luiz Felipe Scholari, looks favourite. Liverpool and Arsenal, as ever, will be trying to tackle the other two top teams with fresh vigor. All in all, the weekends of next 10 months will be thrilling for the soccer fans all over the world.

(**sorry ya buat fansnya MU! no hard feeling okay**)

Berita bertahannnya Ronaldo Katroboy kutip dari salah satu situs yang mewawancarai Ronaldo, isinya begini: --The Cristiano Ronaldo - Real Madrid - Manchester United saga seems to be finally over. In an interview with Portuguese newspaper Publico, Ronaldo stated : "I am staying at Manchester United. I have met with Sir Ferguson, we understood each oher and we have decided together that the best solution is to stay at Old Trafford".-- Yang intinya die bilang, kalau dia udah sepakat dengan Alex Fergusson kalau dia akan setidak2nya bertahan 1 musim lagi MU!

Setelah nyari berita nya di situs lokal akhirnya ketemu juga di bolanews:

This morning I heard in the radio that Christiano Ronaldo stays at Manchester United for, at least, one more season. That's nice, when you are a Red Devils fan like myself :)

But I really don't understand why he would like to go to Madrid. Surely it's a great club, and it has alot of fans and so on. But if you look at the player perspective. Have you ever seen a hot shot player comming to the club and turned even better, or at least kept the level of play? I can only think of two: Zidane and Laudrup.
Christiano Ronaldo is still a kid, he can improve alot more, but not if he ends up in Madrid. Real Madrid is not known for devloping players into stars. They buy 'em. If Christiano Ronaldo goes to Madrid, he will ruin his talent and waste it.

[caption id="attachment_5" align="alignnone" width="240" caption="Christiano Ronaldo"][/caption]

Of cause, it is only one spectre of the situation. The other one is one that noone can deal with than himself. Heat and feelings.
He's from Portugal but if he' raised up watching, just some, spanish football and fell in love with Real Madrid, then noone can talk him out of the move. Maby postpone it for a year or two but not longer. Noone can go against the love for a club.

My predictions is that Ronaldo will stay in United for one more season and then they will have to let him go. His contract expires in 2012 and if the club, and its american greedy owners, would like to have the money he's worth then they will sell him at that time. Because Ronnie isn't interrested in signing a new contract and If Real have to wait a little longer to get him for free, they will do that.

[caption id="attachment_6" align="alignnone" width="460" caption="Sir Alex Ferguson and Christiano Ronaldo"][/caption]

Unless Sir Alex pulls a rabbit up the hat, he looses Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, stay a bit and hold on, no rush you'll get there in time :)

First we need to establish something. Christiano Ronaldo is A) a right winger for Portugal and for

First we need to establish something. Christiano Ronaldo is A) a right winger for Portugal and for Manchester United (for now...), B) A jerk, 4) In the backstreet boys, Dee) A metrosexual, seveN) in the top 5 for most overrated soccer players in the world right now, nueve) Not as good as Messi or Kaka, Faush) es el mejor puta en todo el mundo, y se gusta tocarse en el bano, tambien) a whiny cry-girl with longer hair than... integrity.

There is a good reason why he hasn't said a single thing about his possible transfer from Man U to Real Madrid, even though it is clear Sir Alex would rather cut off his nuts than give up his pretty boy. He likes it. He likes thinking he is the best player in the world, and he is so good that the prestigious Real Madrid is willing to set the world record for signing fee (again) to buy his. He doesn't care about the team. Just ask anyone on Portugal (good work losing to an even more overrated Germany team). Let's be honest, he peaked. His fluke win over Chelsea in the Champions League Final gave his just what he needed, a BIGGER ego!!! So now he has nothing left to win, other than anything related to international competitions, and he just wants to look pretty and feel important.

[caption id="attachment_13" align="aligncenter" width="205" caption=""][/caption]

Now you are saying, "Wow, you are totally, completely, 100% right, but what does this have to do with golf in the San Francisco Bay?"

Believe it or not, there are people in the United States who not only care about soccer, but follow it as well. We all know that nobody like Christiano Ronaldo, but some people hate him for being a pussy on the soccer field as well. Whenever certain people see a full column about how Real Madrid is sweating Ronaldo's nuts even MORE, for the 73.87 day in a row, they decide to go steal golf balls from a random anonymous golf course. After they acquire said balls (haha, I know), they decide to hit them into an anonymous San Francisco Bay. It's a lot of fun actually. At night, you can whack the ball, the listen for the ball to splash. And then the cry of a now dead whale, that you killed, you jerk.

That actually is a pretty good question. Thanks for asking.

And so, in conclusion, it is quite obvious that I am right. I thank you all for reading, and being such eager and enthusiastic fans! If Ronaldo stays at Manure, he will remain a kind of good player. If he goes to Real, he will waste away his talent looking pretty in the Madrid sun. And they probably won't even play him. Who would he play over? Just because Real is insecure because they lose every time they face real competition, doesn't mean they need this guy. Or maybe it does. Good luck against Premier League teams in the champions league Real, maybe you won't lose to Arsenal's backups again. And Christiano, stop diving every time you get touched. Go back to where you belong, in girl's soccer.

I would like to welcome everyone to the Phil From School blog, you stupid fucks. We are going to model this blog after the famous show "Seinfeld," basically it's about nothing. We are going to talk about everything and anything that can possibly cross into our minds. You don't like it? Ha, we know you are lying. If you want to suggest a topic, we are more than willing to listen, and probably will end up ignoring you. All of this will come from the mind of Phil From School, so don't even think that multiple people are writing this, even if it is completely obvious with each different post. Shut up. Ok cool. What else? This having been said, let's kick it off with our maiden post, the socio-economical implications of the Real Madrid targeting of Christiano Ronaldo and it's effects on golf balls in the San Francisco Bay. Enjoy, I guess.

I love you all!!!!!
