Actress used a special Los Angeles screening of There’s Something About Mary on Wednesday to pay tribute to her father who died this spring. Emilio was his name, made a cameo appearance in the comedy.

The actress laughed as she remembered her dad who died from complications with pneumonia in April:

My daddy’s in this movie for two seconds. My father just passed away recently. He’s the dude when Ben Stiller is leaving the jail and all the guys run afterwards. My dad has the long black-silver hair… who’s hamming it up in the front.

That’s my dad, so would you all just say hi to him, because it’s one of the few moments that we have of him immortalized on film.”

This is good news for all the Jodi Picoult fans! A movie based on her novel 'My Sister's Keeper' is coming out. It is currently in post-production and will be in cinemas next year. John Leven and director Nick Cassavetes wrote the screenplay for 'My Sister's Keeper'. They previously worked together on 'Notebook' (2004), which was directed by Cassavetes also and adapted for the screen by Leven. What a gorgeous movie that was! It promises more wonderful viewing from this talented pair.

The main character in the novel is 'Anna', a thirteen year old girl whose entire existence revolves around her older sister who is going through chemotherapy. Anna's character will be portrayed by the 12-year old Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine). The cast includes Cameron Diaz (Anna's mother), Sofia Vassilieva (Anna's sister Kate), Alec Baldwin, Thomas Dekker, Joan Cusack & Jason Patrick.

I loved Jodi Picoult's book and adored the movie 'Notebook', which alone would have convinced me that this could be a great movie, but there is more...

The director of photography for 'My Sister's Keeper' is Caleb Deschanel. If cinematography matters to you, this is a name you should definitely know - his DOP credits include 'The Patriot', 'The Passion of the Christ' and more recently 'The Spiderwick Chronicles'.

I'm not sure about the release date, but I'll be on the lookout for this one and keep you posted!

J-Lo looked stunning at the launch of her Desero mens fragrance in her white corduroy Fendi dress, while Cameron looked devine at her Japanese premiere of What Happens in Vegas.

AFI and Target came together with Arclight cinemas and brought us a very cool event last night.

Sit beside Steve Martin for a screening of “The Jerk,” share a theater with Mike Myers for a showing of “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” or squirm in your seat alongside Jodie Foster during “The Silence of the Lambs.” These stars — along with Dustin Hoffman, Cameron Diaz, Denzel Washington, Annette Bening, Jim Carrey, Shirley MacLaine, Rita Moreno and Keanu Reeves — shares some of their most famous films with their fans at “Target Presents AFI Night at the Movies.”

Only this week, her boyfriend, British model Paul Sculfor, told New magazine:

"We are having fun. She had openly said she does not want marriage, so we're coasting."

And then last night, Cameron stepped out on the red carpet at the Target AFI Night At The Movies event in Hollywood, California - looking fab in a chic white shirt, skinny jeans, trademark luminous red lipstick and cute strappy heels, and Oh yeah...a great big ring on her engagement finger!

Now we have enough sense to know that this does NOT mean she's engaged; it doesnt even look like an engagement ring to me, but several news outlets are running with the story. I mean, Whatever, the rings a blinder, and if she is engaged, then Congrats, but if not then...Nice ring anyway gurl! :o)

Kidman has an Oscar and earns $15 million paydays, but she's proved to offer a poor return on investment. Despite bringing in $370 million in worldwide box office, The Golden Compass only grossed $3.36 for every dollar Kidman was paid.

The Invasion lost $2.68 for every dollar that went to Kidman. She has a chance for a high-profile comeback with this fall's epic Australia, which could earn the Aussie her third best actress nomination.

For every dollar she was paid, Nicole Kidman's movies averaged $1 of gross income.

9. Jennifer Garner

Garner has stayed fairly under the radar since her 2005 big-budget disaster Elektra, which cost $40 million to make and earned only $56 million worldwide. Unfortunately for Garner her follow-up films didn't do much better.

Both Catch and Release and The Kingdom underperformed at the box office.

For every dollar she was paid, Jennifer Garner's movies averaged $3.60 of gross income.

8. Tom Cruise

His recent cameo as a foul-mouthed studio exec in Tropic Thunder is earning raves and might usher in the era of Tom Cruise comedies. In the meantime, Cruise has to deal with the fallout from his recent dramatic blunder, Lions for Lambs.

The film's box office ($63 million worldwide) was bad enough that even without taking any upfront pay Cruise still earned the movie only $1.88 for every dollar he was paid.

For every dollar he was paid, Tom Cruise's movies averaged $4 of gross income.

7. Cameron Diaz

The highest paid actress in Hollywood, Diaz pulled in $50 million last year.

But her high salary makes it hard for the romantic comedies she stars in to earn a good return.

The Holiday brought in $205 million worldwide but Diaz's high payday meant the film only grossed $3.70 for every dollar Diaz was paid.

For every dollar she was paid, Cameron Diaz's movies averaged $4 of gross income.

6. Jennifer Lopez

The singer/actress/designer has struggled at the box office for the past few years, choosing small projects like 2006's El Cantante, a low-budget musical biopic starring her husband Marc Anthony, which barely registered at the box office.

Her last big film was 2005's Monster-in-Law, which grossed $155 million worldwide returning $6.85 for every dollar Lopez was paid.

For every dollar she was paid, Jennifer Lopez's movies averaged $4.10 of gross income.

5. Jim Carrey

Long gone are the days when Carrey could attract crowds with his talking backside.

The actor's latest attempt at a serious film, last year's The Number 23, flopped at the box office, earning only $77 million worldwide.

Jim Carrey has a chance to turn things around with this winter's Yes Man. Carrey has so much faith in the comedy that he reportedly took no money upfront for his starring performance.

For every dollar he was paid, Jim Carrey's movies averaged $4.11 of gross income.
