• Meditation: I use this technique to calm and relax myself when I am feeling stressed.  I especially like guided meditations with soothing music in the background.  I also find this technique useful when I am searching for an answer to a question or a problem.
• Gratitude Journal: I have discovered that I am less likely to get caught up in negative thinking when I am focused on all that I am grateful for.  This activity usually only takes a few minutes so it's easy to incorporate it into your daily routine.
• Reading:  This one is easy for me because I love to read.  And what do I read?  I read what successful people have written.  Some of my favorite authors include: Norman Vincent Peale, Zig Ziglar, Napolean Hill, Jack Canfield, Brian Tracy, Stephen Covey, James Allen, Wayne Dyer, etc..
• Quotes/Scriptures:  Find several that inspire you and spend a little time each day saying them to yourself and really think about the meaning behind the words.  I have found that the right quote or a scripture will come to mind just when I need it. 
• Network: Spend a few minutes each day connecting with like-minded, positive people.  A daily email exchanged with a positive friend, coworker, or mentor is helpful.  There are also several great websites that help you to be focused and positive.  My favorites are www.morningcoach.com,  www.stevepavlina.com, and www.positivethinkingmag.com. 

If you want to improve your life but are short on time, I have a challenge for you.  Beginning today, spend 15 minutes doing any of the activities listed above.  Then mark out the next 20 days on your calendar (it takes 21 days to form a new habit).  The time of day you spend doing these activities is not so important.  What's important is that you are DOING something each day.  If you find that you have more time to devote to this, GREAT!

1. Law of continuous learning.  He spoke of the time when he was younger and someone told him that only 20% of the population are the ones who will make enough money to be considered well to do.  That leaves 80% of the population left.  The Wall Street Journal recently did a study and it coincides with the statistic that Brian Tracy was given when he was younger.  What the Wall Street Journal revealed was that the lower 80% are only achieving a 1% increase in wages while the top 20% are achieving around 11% a year.  Their study went on to say what differentiates the top 20% from the lower 80% is development of critical skills.  iLearningGlobal will focus on supplying the education for those critical skills. Possibly the eighth deadly sin, and the number one cause of becoming an “almost successful” person, procrastination is the easiest way to loose track of both your short-term and long-term goals. 

In Brian Tracy’s book “Eat That Frog,” he talks about the ability to concentrate at the immediate task at hand and whole-heartedly complete it. He compares tasks to eating frogs and states that if you had to eat a frog every morning, there shouldn’t be many more tasks that are more daunting or difficult. Thus, you should be able to complete other tasks throughout the day, a lot faster because of the mental comfort of having already done the toughest task yet, of eating the frog. He goes even further and says that if you had to eat two frogs, eat the ugliest one first. 

Tracy lists a set of 21 ways to stop procrastinating and get more things done faster and is summarized in this link. Eat That Frog summary

No more are the days of endless procrastination. 

NOW is the time. It’s all you have! 

There is no time to wait. Success does not wait for anyone!

Due to this, I've started to wonder how I could hope to get back on track with everything. It took some time and it will inevitably consume more. It was while listening to The Science of Self-Confidence by Brian Tracy that I seemed to formulate what was really required at the time.

If you haven't listened to his audio book - I would certainly suggest for you to do so. Irrespective of whether you want to improve your self-confidence or refine your already-made personal skills, it's still a great listen.

Basically, one of the principal aspects about self-confidence he speaks about is the concept of goal setting. The notion is largely overrated and while many people - including myself - have experimented with setting goals and trying to apply them to our routines, we eventually lose sight of them due to certain commitments and schedules.

I'm going to give it another shot. This time with more of an observant mindset of how I progress through each goal.

I guess this post is more to do with writing down my goals than to elucidate on anything else. To those who were expecting more. Apologies.

At the moment - these are the ones I'm going to jot down for now. I don't know how I'm going to track each goal and its according progress but I'll see that it's given some thought in due course.

Basic Goals:

• Get my studies back on track and up to date;
• In general, perform optimally at everything at every moment;
• Improve my physical and mental welfare;
• Do well in my exams;
• Improve in my assertiveness;
• Learn more about philosophy;
• Have more time for leisure;
• Get adequate sleep; and
• Beat Sheryl at everything I can think of (this one should actually be at the top of my list - hmm)

I have to tell myself before I can realise these goals that I mustn't think that I can accomplish these goals but know that these can be achieved.

It needs to be a balance of optimism and rationality. I can hope that these goals will be actualised but self-responsibility and the positive knowledge that these goals can be put into fruition will get me there. The philosophy has to be that nothing and no one can stop me from achieving these goals or any other goals. I need to repeat this over and over mentally.

I am entitled to be content and satisfied, therefore for that to happen - I have to believe I can achieve these goals, however minute they may appear.

In other words, Richard Paul Evans and BookWise profited from this pyramid scheme by enrolling myriads of "independent sales associates" into the program and offered a ludicrous, full-money back guarantee that could never possibly be fulfilled by the best selling author and his MLM/pyramid scheme, home based business corporation.

How nice of these guys and Richard Paul Evans to even offer some of their product that has been rotting in their warehouse, though! ;) Is there any better way to remember how you have been scammed than by accepting these books and DVDs as a refund?

• Visual-spatial intelligence - Oskus näha ruumi ja kujundeid, visandada mõttes pilte; see on omane režissööridele, arhitektidele ja kunstnikele.
• Musical intelligence - Kuigi tihedalt seotud matemaatilise mõtlemismalliga, on see siiski erinev. Domineeriv ajuüksus on seotud helidega, mitte visuaalsete kujutistega nagu enamusel inimestel. 2. Regulaarsed vaheajad - iga paarikümne minuti tagant tuleb õppeseanssides pause teha. Kahel põhjusel: et oleks rohkem teemade algusi ja lõppe (sest need jäävad alati paremini meelde kui keskosa) ja kuna inimese kontsentratsioon pole loodud pikemaajaliseks fikseeringuks.
3. Review - Iga asi, mis peab meelde jääma, tuleb 3-4 minuti jooksul üle vaadata, ja nii 6 korda: tund pärast õppimist, päev pärast õppimist, nädal, kuu ja kuus kuud pärast õppimist. Kes nii talitavad, mäletavad vaid 20 minutilise kumulatiivse ajakaduga 80% õpitust peaaegu igaveseks võrreldes teistega, kes on 80% unustanud pärast kahe päeva möödumist õppimise algusest.

11. Sleep on it - unenäod REM unes seovad uued teadmised vanadega, et need kinnistuks.
12. Whole learning - kõigil meil on olnud vaja vene keeles luuletus pähe õppida. Minu teada õpetatakse alati väikeste juppide haaval tuupimist, aga katsed näitavad, et 50% efektiivsem on järgnev tehnika. Esiteks loe kõik otsast lõpuni läbi, teiseks loe ja saa aru rasketest kohtadest, kolmandaks loe uuesti läbi, neljandaks loe läbi valjult, viiendaks loe läbi koos visualiseerimisega, kuuendaks loe läbi koos liikumisega. Ja nüüd etapid 1-6 veel üks kord. Tundub idiootsem, aga peaks toimima.
13. Üleõppimine - Õppida õige pisut rohkem kui vaja toob väga suurt kasu.

In my courses on time mangement, I point out that the very worst use of time in life is to stay at a job for months and years for which you are completely unsuited. There are a great number of people who spend their whole lives doing something during the week so that they can somehow find something enjoyable to do on the weekends.

In every case, these are men and women with very little future before them. They look upon their jobs as a form of drudgery, a penance they have to pay in order to enjoy the rest of their lives. And because of this attitude, they will seldom advance or be promoted. They will stay pretty much at the level they are, moving from job to job, and always wondering why other people seem to be living the good life while they feel like they are living lives of quiet desperation.

People who are not successful and happy in their work are those who have not taken the time to sit down and deal honestly and openly with themselves. They have not looked deep within themselves to find the inner treasures of talent and ability that they have demonstrated throughout their lives. They are content to do work that other people design and to achieve goals that other people have set.

Over time, people who are not following their true callings begin to feel helpless. They feel that there is nothing they can do to change things.
