Many cultures chew substances made from Mother Nature such as grasses, plants and resins. Chewing gum’s history actually dates back to the ancient Greeks, being their favorite hobby. However, it was a William Semple, not a Greek, who first patented chewing gum on 28 December 1869 and a Susan Montgomery who had blown the largest gum bubble ever at 23 inches in diameter. She is recorded in the Guinness World Record.

The most popular brands are not always the best for blowing bubbles. Companies like Bubble Yum and Bubbicilious have created soft, easy to chew, full of flavor, long lasting gum; great for those that want to chew gum, bad for those that want to blow bubbles. If you want to blow championship bubbles, go with a less popular brand like Double Bubble or Bazooka. They contain less sugar and are harder to chew, but offer superior strength for bubbles.

The trick is to use a small amount of gum. If after you have blown your bubble and still find gum in your mouth, it does not mean you need more gum. Just more practice. More gum does not make more bubble. Also, you can only use three pieces of gum to contest the world record.

To beat against the odds of blowing your gum bubbles to their full potential, try to practice indoors where it is easier to manage the wind and temperature. These two factors are crucial to your success. Too cold, the skin of your bubble will get thin and breaks easily; too hot, your bubble will collapse prematurely.

All bubble gum have sugar and artificial flavors in them for taste. However, these two ingredients are bad news for those who want to blow big bubbles. A trick is to masticate your gum until you work out most of the sugar and artificial flavoring, which in turn will create superior strength for your bubbles. The next step is to get your gum at the right consistency. It gets harder as it cools down after you have blown a bubble. Warm it up to become softer by chewing it further. At the correct consistency, you can effortlessly push your tongue through the gum and fill the pocket with air to blow your bubble.

If you want to blow the biggest bubbles possible, be careful and blow slowly. Use slow even breaths, this gives your gum time to stretch and grow, but also keeps even pressure on the gum to keep it from sagging. Don’t tighten your lips around the bubble like you just sucked on a lemon, this will force you to blow harder and pop your bubble. Instead keep your mouth open so you inflate the bubble through a larger hole.

A champion is not born without practice. Then again, in order to blow really big and impressive bubbles, you also need a strong jaw, tongue and diaphragm. You should try out all the tips mentioned above and see which combinations work best for you. It is more fun, which is the main thing, if you can practice and compete with your friends.

I guess I hate the parallels that are more associated with color because other types of parallels have noticeable differences. For example, I think for UD Premier, the lower #'d sets have nicer patches with more colors. But as for set collecting, it's such a pain because once you bust a box or pack, you end up with so many different versions that it will be that much more difficult to put together a set of just that type. I suppose you could mix and match different types into one set, but since I'm OCD, they all have to be uniform. Another thing I hate is Moments & Milestones. I bought one card for a buck or two off eBay, but that's it. I'll take cards if they come by mail, but seriously, it's the same freakin' card with just a different number. Stupid card companies and their desire to just make more money. They take advantage of people who are even more OCD than me who try to collect type sets. For example, look HERE; tell me that is not crazy. Imagine the time and effort this person had to go through to put that together. Not only that, but imagine how much money they spent. If it wasn't by trade or buying individually, this person had to just keep busting boxes of this stuff. Was it really worth it? If he made more than $500 net, then probably, but jeez.

So if anyone is interested, all the mini cards I have are up for trade, otherwise I'm putting the whole lot on eBay. There are some pretty nice cards here such as a black border Mickey Mantle and a Honus Wagner baseball icons. There's also a bunch of world leaders and an aviation card to choose from. I am taking down my want list for the mini cards, except for Lincecum mini cards. I still want the regular mini, A&G back mini, black border mini, no #, and Bazooka mini of him.

Die Bazooka war eine Mixtur zweier neuartiger Technologien:  Raketengeschosse und Hohlladungsmunition. Bereits im Jahre 1918 demonstrierte Dr. Robert H. Goddard der US-Armee eine vergleichbare Raketenabschussvorrichtung, da der erste Weltkrieg jedoch nur Tage später vorbei war, wurde das Projekt nicht weiter verfolgt. Die Hohlladungs-Technologie wurde von den Amerikanern erstmals bei der M10 Panzerabwehrgranate angewandt, die jedoch einen schwerwiegenden Fehler hatte: um effektiv zu sein, musste sie von einem „Freiwilligen“ direkt am Panzer angebracht werden.
US-Army Leutnant Edward G. Uhl schlug 1940 vor, diese Granate an einer Rakete anzubringen. Damit war die M1A1 Bazooka geboren, die Ende 1942 eingeführt wurde. Das Prinzip der Bazooka ist einfach: Die Rakete wird in einem an beiden Enden offenen Rohr gezündet, wobei der Flammenstrahl der Rakete (im Idealfall) nach hinten und der Sprengkopf nach vorne austreten. Dadurch hat die Waffe keinen Rückstoß, braucht jedoch viel Freiraum nach hinten beim Abfeuern. Deshalb musste der Soldat die Deckung verlassen, im Gefecht ein eher gefährliches Unterfangen.

1943 erbeuteten deutsche Truppen einige Exemplare bei der Schlacht um Tebourba in Nordafrika. Beeindruckt von der neuartigen Waffe beschloss man sie zu kopieren (wenn auch in verbesserter Form). Man entschied sich für das größere Kaliber von 88mm, die schweren Panzer der Sowjets im Hinterkopf. Das erste Modell war die Raketenpanzerbüchse 43, genannt „Ofenrohr“. Im Feldversuch wurde schnell klar, dass die Bedienung der Waffe eher unangenehm war: durch den Flammenstrahl der das Rohr verlassenden Rakete verlor so mancher Soldat die Gesichtsbehaarung oder Schlimmeres. Das Tragen einer Asbestmaske sollte das Problem lösen, war jedoch auf Dauer zu umständlich, weshalb man beim Nachfolgemodell, der Raketenpanzerbüchse 54 oder „Panzerschreck“, ein Schutzblech anbrachte.

Schon vorher hatten die Deutschen mit einer Infanterie-Panzerabwehrwaffe experimentiert. Ergebnis war die Panzerfaust, die von Laien häufig auch für einen Raketenwerfer gehalten wird. Das ist allerdings nicht der Fall: Anders als bei der Bazooka oder der Panzerschreck wird die Granate der Panzerfaust nicht durch eine Rakete angetrieben, sondern durch eine einzelne Explosion, deren Rückstoß ebenfalls nach hinten abgeleitet wird. Deshalb ist die Panzerfaust kein Raketenwerfer sondern ein rückstoßfreies Geschütz. Durch Fehlen des Raketenantriebs mangelt es der Panzerfaust an Reichweite, dafür hat sie eine deutlich überlegene Durchschlagskraft und konnte auch von Kindern, Frauen und Bankangestellten bedient werden, ein schönes Plus gegen Kriegsende. Ein weiterer Unterschied ist die Tatsache, dass es sich bei der Panzerfaust um eine Einwegwaffe ohne Möglichkeit zum Nachladen handelt.
Nach einem ähnlichen Prinzip funktioniert das rückstoßfreie Geschütz der Airborne-Ranger. Dieses Design orientiert sich am wenig bekannten Leichtgeschütz 40 der Luftwaffe, das von Fallschirmjägern zum Beispiel auf Kreta eingesetzt wurde. In CoH haben diese Waffen aber eigentlich nichts verloren. Sie wurden erst am Kriegsende eingesetzt, unter anderem in der Schlacht um Okinawa.

Die PIAT (Projector Infantry Anti Tank) der Briten ist ein Sonderfall: Sie funktioniert nach dem „SPIGOT“-System. Vor dem Einsatz musste eine große Feder im Inneren der Waffe gespannt werden. Dann wurde eine Hohlladungsgranate in den Schacht gelegt und die Waffe war schussbereit. Beim Abschuss wurde der Haken der die Feder gespannt hielt gelöst und die Feder dehnte sich schlagartig nach oben aus und brachte den Zünder der Granate zur Detonation, die daraufhin auf das Ziel zuflog. Der Explosion drückte die Feder zusammen und spannte sie so wieder. Sobald die nächste Granate eingelegt war, konnte man wieder schießen. Dieses System hatte einige Vorteile: Man konnte die Waffe in geschlossenen Räumen einsetzen und da es keinen Rauchstrahl hinter der Rakete gab wurde der Schütze nicht so leicht lokalisiert. Der Nachteil war, dass die PIAT nicht rückstoßfrei war. Zwar fing die Feder einen Teil der Energie auf, der Rest war jedoch immer noch groß genug um den ein oder anderen Soldaten schmerzhaft auf den Boden der Tatsachen zurückzuschleudern. Das Abschusssystem wurde ursprünglich für einen leichten Mörser entwickelt, schließlich führte man es jedoch 1943 als Ersatz für die veraltete Boys Panzerbüchse ein.

And when I said "gone back in time", try to guess which anime the bazooka came from (there is no prize though >.<). It's quite an old series, people of my age did not get to watch it back then. Old Long-time mecha fans might find it familiar.

Anyway, sorry for the blur images, my camera sucks. Anyone know a good camera model for beginner photographers? Since I seriously need a new camera. I'll tell you why.

Some shots were taken like a gazillion times due to the size of the cam being small, it made it difficult for me to hold it steadily. Plus, it has no "anti-shake" or whatever-it-is-called function. So folks, do not get yourself a Nikon Coolpix 3700 the next time you go shopping.

I would've taken more shots if not for the camera getting me frustrated with all the blurriness. But fret not, a bonus image is served to compensate for the crappy quality. ^^;

And about the question I posed earlier, it's time I reveal the answer. This tin-can's been with me since about 7/8 years old. It is a miracle that I didn't wreck it into smithereens back then lol.

Pendant mes promenades à Osaka, je suis tombé sur un musée temporaire, le musée Nintendo à Umeda. Il était situé au dernier étage du 'départment store Hankyu' en face de la gare d'Umeda. Ce musée était surtout une manière de promouvoir la sortie de la Wii au Japon, mais c'était tout de même intéressant de voir cette jolie collection d'oldies et de consoles Nintendo.

L'entreprise Nintendo a été fondée en 1889, inutile de préciser qu'à l'époque Nintendo n'étais pas encore dans le domaine du Jeu Vidéo... La première activité de Nintendo était la fabrication artisanale de cartes à jouer : Hanafuda.

A partir de 1956, Nintendo a essayé de diversifier son activité dans des domaines très variés tel qu'une entreprise de Taxi, une chaine TV, une chaine de Fast-food, et même une chaine de Love Hôtel... Mais toutes ces activités ont été vouées à l'échec.
C'est en 1966 que Nintendo à fait le choix de s'aventurer dans le domaine des jeux, mais ce domaine étais déjà très engorgé par d'autres entreprises Japonaise comme Bandai ou Tomy.

En 1974, Nintendo a alors diversifié son activité en important des jeux électroniques américains, suite à un succès commercial, elle a commencé à produire ses propres jeux électroniques en 1977.

En 1980, Nintendo a connu un succès mondial en sortant les Game & Watch, les premiers Jeux Vidéos portables.

C'est en 1983 que Nintendo sortit le Famicom (diminutif de Familly Computer), connu chez nous sous le nom de NES. En 1985 le Famicom a été exporté en Amérique avec le Jeu Super Mario Bros, ce jeu et jusqu'à aujourd'hui le jeu le mieux vendu de tout les temps.
En 1989, retour sur les jeux portables, puisque Nintendo sort la Gameboy, s'enchaine alors les succès commerciaux : la Super-Famicom (Super-Nintendo) en 1991, toutes les déclinaisons de Gameboy (Super Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, DS), la Nintendo 64 en 1996, la Gamecube en 2002 et la Wii en 2006.

Undefeated ALA fighter AJ “Bazooka” Banal suffered his first career loss after getting knocked down in the 10^th round of the bout against Panamanian Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion. Banal was sent to the canvass at 2:35 of the 10^th round and refused to get back on his feet. He was clearly exhausted after getting hit on the body by the Panamanian visitor.

Banal appeared to be in top form especially in the first few rounds when he unleashed nasty combinations that hit Concepcion hard. During the middle rounds however, Banal seemed to have lost steam which and Concepcion took notice of this. Concepcion, nicknamed “El Torito” or little bull in English lived up to his name and gored his way back into the fight and eventually floored Banal with a pair of nasty rights.

Banal, down on his knees and obviously spent, shook his head as the referee made the count of 10.

In the under card features, Filipino boxer Milan Milendo capture the WBA Intercontinental gold via unanimous decision over Panamanian Carlos Melo. Michael Domingo, a Filipino, knocked out Rivo Rengkung of Indonesia in the second round to capture the WBO Oriental crown. James Bacon, also from Philippines, knocked out his Indonesian opponent Skak Max in the sixth and final round of their match.

Fază tare. Mă trezesc la 9 şi ceva. Dinnou aşa sec fără să ştiu de ce. Peste 10 minute mă sună de la OBI cum că mă angajez azi cică. Deci şi aşa am avut o voce din aia că "tu cine plm eşti?", dar dacă mă suna şi dormeam îşi retrăgeau oferta.

Ok parcă despre Lord's vroiam să scriu. "Dinnou", barul ăla/ăsta e genial. Cu ce pizdă (îmi cer scuze, domnişoară, dar ea nu se supără ca e pizdă de om, de fapt erau două) din Bali/Heat/fostu Seven (alte baruri de fiţe nu-mi vin în cap - mint, doar că nu am spaţiu destul să scriu şi nu vreau să plictisex) pe care tocmai ai abordat-o, îţi permite să iei scaunu' lu' prietenă-sa, care e din SânMartin, la care îi explici că tocmai ai fost provocat la un Challenge cum că nu ai tupeu să iei scaunu' lu' tipa aia care tocmai a plecat la budă, poţi să vorbeşti 2 ore (în Pepe time) fără să te plesnească? Citeşte încă o dată dacă n-ai înţeles, că io soto nu mai explic. Deci stăteam la bar cu Shmen şi îi povesteam cum o ştiu pe tipa aia de lângă noi, că era tipa care o căzut de pe bar în "I see Lord's people, partea 3-a". La un moment dat pleacă prietena ei care stătea lângă ea şi nush cum am ajuns să îmi bage ăsta challenge să merg să îi iau la aia scaunu' şi dacă mă plezneşte dau io bazooka, iar dacă nu dă el. AAAAAAAAAhhhh de aia o cumpărat Shmen o bazooka?

Clar, oricum pizdă de seară în Lord's, AGAIN. Pizdă de oameni în Lord's, AGAIN. Prietena ei, a lu' aia mă care o căzut de pe bar, ce plm povestesc la proşti aci?, o locuit în Scoţia, cred că în Iverness şi a fost în Edinburgh şi Londra, aşa că am avut ce vorbi. Bin der, dan det. Ah, apropo, juma de oră am vorbit cu fata cum că ea o căzut de pe bar sau nu. Ea argumenta că nu o căzut! Io' îmi menţin declaraţia. Mai merem şi mai dezbatem.

Pentru ediţia a treia am stabilit reguli noi pe care le poţi citi şi consulta aici. Formatul rămâne aproximativ la fel doar cu mici schimbări, asta ca să devină totul mai interesant şi mai amuzant. Sunt acceptaţi şi renegaţii din ediţiile precedente şi cei care nu au dorit să participe.

Aştept şi accept propuneri de la voi (sub formă de commenturi) şi în funcţie şi de ele, adică de propuneri, voi stabili formatul final şi regulile pentru campionat. De asemenea aştept şi propuneri pentru premiul ediţiei a treia.

Noa altă seară/noapte reuşită în Lord's (acuma nu era obligatoriu să scriu cu noa da am simţit nevoia). După ce am terminat berea şi am dansat cu Cristina sus (da am dansat, fata asta scoate ce-i mai rău din mine) s-o făcut Călin că o greşit comanda. În loc să comande o bere o comandat o Bazooka. Normal orice Bazooka comandată, trebuie consumată. Fata a plecat şi am rămas noi doi, adică io bă şi cu Călin bă! De-aci iar o început showu'. Nu ştiu sincer dacă am voie să povestesc că doar eu şi încă câţiva mai ştim povestea. Mă opresc să te fac curios/oasă. Oricum what happens in Lord's, stays in Lord's (nu de-alta da nu mai ţin eu minte a doua zi). O fază tare cu o fată, alta. Nu ştiu cum am ajuns să stăm de vorbă, da' la un moment dat după ce am vorbit vreo juma' de oră am ajuns să-i reproşez că s-o îmbârligat cu nasolu' ăla, care era urât şi foarte beat. Fata politicoasă şi-o cerut scuze şi o argumentat cum că şi ea era beată adiCĂ CAre este. Eu, mai beat ca ea, i-am zis "ce-i cu tine shmen că tu nu eşti beată!". Ea săraca era ruptă de somn, dar trebuia să o aştepte pe prietena ei care îşi dădea limbi cu unu rupt care o aruncat-o de pe scaun (scaun de bar) "din greşeală". Au plecat fetele la ele în MALL şi am rămas iar singurel cu Călin. Mă rog singurel....

Aseară (m-a dat afară, şi am rămas) în campionatul de statusuri, pe primul loc a ieşit Seby - "doamne... ce recul are bazooka asta", pe doi Cristina - "PIO !!!" şi pe trei Emilia - "LOVE GURU: I would like to thank the academy". Io am cam uitat să votez la shmenuri, de-aia o ieşit aşa nasol.

"Tidak ada yang tampak aneh dengan sepucuk bazooka tersandang di punggung..."

Jika Anda jeli, maka sebenarnya hal itu dapat terdengar agak aneh. Karena itu menandakan prajurit Jerman yang bersangkutan sedang berada dalam certain circumstances sehingga menyebabkan sang pembela negara harus menggunakan sepucuk bazooka. :P

Kalau Anda sering bermain permainan video penembak orang pertama yang mengambil setting dalam peperangan skala besar (bukan dalam suatu tempat antah berantah seperti Counter Strike :P ), misalnya Battlefield 1942, atau yang paling lawas dalam kancah dunia konsol: seri Call of Duty dan Medal of Honor, pasti ada suatu kondisi di mana baku tembak tak terelakkan (namanya juga game perang). Dari sekian baku tembak yang terjadi, akan ada satu kondisi di mana senjata mesin atau granat tangan biasa tidak lagi mempan:

Kemunculan sebuah tank. :mrgreen:

Akan sia-sia jika kendaraan lapis baja itu ditembaki dengan senapan apa pun yang Anda punya; peluru dengan diameter beberapa milimeter itu tak akan bisa menembus kulit sang panzer. Granat tangan biasa juga tidak selalu efektif jika kendaraan macam itu mau dihancurkan dengan sekali hajar. Butuh sesuatu yang lebih.

Dan saat inilah biasanya Anda akan disuguhkan -- atau terpaksa membuat diri Anda disuguhkan -- dengan sebuah tabung silinder, lebih panjang dari senjata lainnya, dilengkapi dengan sebuah amunisi yang besar dan bulat menancap di salah satu ujungnya. Senjata itulah yang jadi pemusnah sang badak besi; senjata yang sering disebut-sebut sebagai bazooka. :mrgreen:

Bagi para pemain multiplayer biasanya situasi ini akan lebih heboh, diramaikan dengan keributan yang mensignali kedatangan sesosok tank. Tapi tujuan utamanya tetap sama: mengondisikan agar seseorang bersenjatakan bazooka bisa berada di tempat kejadian perkara. Untuk memusnahkan keberadaan si panzer, jelas.

Disinilah letak problemanya. :?

Kembali ke paragraf awal tadi, anehkah bila seorang prajurit Jerman menembakkan senjata bazooka? Sama sekali tidak aneh, asalkan prajurit Jerman yang bersangkutan sedang berada di tiga posisi: 1) bertemu dengan sebuah badak besi (punya lawan, jelas); 2) tidak bisa menggunakan senjata anti-tank miliknya; 3) mendapat senjata anti-tank milik Amerika Serikat: bazooka.

Iya, dengan kata lain, sebenarnya senjata silinder yang sering dibawa-bawa oleh prajurit kelas berat dalam epik Perang Dunia II itu bukan tergolong jenis senjata bazooka. Senjata itu, yang bisa mengeluarkan roket untuk menghancurkan tank, disebut RPG (Rocket-propelled Grenade). Beberapa orang lebih suka untuk menyebutnya rocket launcher, barangkali juga bisa mempermudah membedakan dengan RPG yang satunya lagi. :P

Bazooka yang sering disebut-sebut merupakan nama dari RPG buatan Amerika Serikat ketika Perang Dunia II, layaknya senapan serbu buatan Rusia yang bernama AK-47. Di sisi lain, salah satu RPG buatan Jerman pada masa yang sama dikenal dengan nama Panzerschreck. Jadi kalau mau mengaitkan dengan kasus pada paragraf pertama di atas, seharusnya si prajurit Jerman menggunakan Panzerschreck (atau Panzerfaust, salah satu variannya yang lebih ekonomis). :mrgreen:

Semasa Perang Dunia II, senjata RPG punya peran penting sebagai penghancur kendaraan. Senjata ini bisa dibawa-bawa oleh infantri, maka jelas lebih portabel daripada harus membawa kendaraan kelas berat untuk mengantisipasi kekuatan tank atau sekedar untuk menghambat pengangkut personel lapis baja.

Sayang, pada perkembangannya setelah Perang Dunia II, tank tempur utama dilengkapi dengan lapisan baja yang lebih kuat dan tebal lagi. Sehingga sudah barang tentu kalau kekuatan senjata ini menjadi mandul untuk menembus lapisan sang badak besi; tambah lagi tingkat akurasi senjata ini yang bukan termasuk jempolan. :| Di kemiliteran modern, posisi RPG digantikan oleh ATGM (Anti-tank Guided Missiles), yang bisa membidik dengan lebih akurat.

Biarpun begitu, RPG masih bisa diandalkan dalam kondisi tertentu. Misalnya untuk sekedar menghancurkan gedung pertahanan lawan, atau untuk meledakkan kendaraan lapis baja yang lapisannya lebih tipis. Kesimpulannya, RPG itu belum tentu bazooka, karena bazooka adalah RPG lawas bikinan Amerika Serikat ketika Perang Dunia II dulu. Mungkin sebaiknya kita meniru ucapan para kopral yang ada di film dan game perang jika bertemu sesosok tank; "We need RPG!" :mrgreen:

You know, I put a lot of effort in to making this blog a nice little escape from your daily grind.  I try really hard to make you chuckle a bit and to instigate some discussion about the little things in life.  But some days I can't help myself and I go political.  And I'll be damned if that's not what raises the viewership count on the page.  But as I have known from the beginning, I'm really typing all this primarily to humor myself. (Must say, I am accomplishing THAT goal.)  I can't say I'll abandon politics altogether.  I'm just not that disciplined.  But I can run as far from it as possible after I get a little bit out of my system, which brings us all to the subject of bubble gum.

I love gum.  All kinds, but especially full sugar, fruity, long lasting, huge and loud bubble producing gum.  I even loved the little stick they used to put in Topp's baseball cards.  I love original Double Bubble and Bazooka even though though they give me TMJ after about five good minutes.  The new pink lemonade Double Bubble and the other colorful flavors are fantastic, even if all the flavor is gone about the time my TMJ kicks in. The flavor goes quickly in Fruit Stripe too, but I'll down a Plen T Pack of that any day.  I love the initial crunch of the Chiclet--miniature or squares--but I hate the price.  And I pick up a pack of Rain-blo any time I'm on the road.  Chew the whole thing with nowhere to spit and you will get a stomach ache, but its pure goodness while there's still one more "orange" in the wrapper.

But all is not well in chewing gum world. We aficionados have been fending off attacks by the wacko dental lobby/tooth huggers for years, but that had sort of settled in to detente.  Our side even had a study come out years ago that chewing gum after a meal actually reduced tooth decay.  I think that might have been a side project of the Tobacco Research Council.  We even survived runaway inflation on gum prices as the boom times of the 1990's kept enough cash in our pocket to fork out 79 cents for a pack or even a dime apiece. However it seems there is now a phantom menace.  I can't find anything but plain jane Super Bubble any more, and even that is getting more difficult.  Where is all the gum going?  Are the Chinese and India markets opening up and syphoning the US supply?  Is it drought and flooding?  The Taliban?  

I have been to a Chevron, Kroger, Shell, and Target in the last two days looking for a fix.  Striking out--striking out! at each place in my search for bubble gum, I began to get desperate. Oh sure, they had Doublemint and Hubba Bubba, and Chevron even had Super Bubble, but I needed the good stuff, man.  So I headed to the shrine of all bubble gum repositories; a place that can always be counted on for both a wide selection and bulk packaging of gum--Walgreen's.  I must've been in there thirty minutes wandering up and down the aisles.  A sympathetic clerk approached me with tampons and condoms and whispered, "is one of these what you need?"  I shook her off and resumed my search.  Finally, a $3.99 plastic baseball bat filled with those gumballs that have "single" and "strikeout" written on them.  They were the only bubble gum in the store.  I had no choice.  I shelled out for a fix.

It's twelve pieces later and I feel better.  But I've got to stop now and massage my jaw.

 G.I.Joe, based on the real-life Delta Force, specializes in Spec-Ops, not typical grunt work. In my Joe-verse, however, there are some operations against Cobra that necessitate striaght leg stuff. One of these is a reconnaissance-in-force. As the name suggests, this mission calls for a relatively small team to search for the enemy and report his whereabouts to Command, yet at the same time, it is not limited to your typical sneak-peek op. No, sir. This recon op comes with some firepower to deal damage to Cobra.

At the heart of this recon-in-force op is the small armored vehicle, the Armadillo. It has a quad set of 40 mm guns to give the team members sufficient fire support.

Bazooka is back driving tanks!

Acting as pointman is Beach Head.

Following him is team leader, Flint, who also carries the radio.

On their right flank marches Heavy Duty, with his .50 cal. machine gun.

Heavy Duty aims his big gun at the treeline in case some Cobras pop up there.

Should the Cobras make the mistake of showing up, Heavy Duty's .50 cal. slugs and the Armadillo's 40 mm shells will definitely make mincemeat of them.

Asst. Team Leader Stalker is also the designated grenadier for the team. He takes the drag and protect the Joes from any Cobra surprise from the rear.

Alongside Stalker is Tunnel Rat. Should the team come across any signs of booby trap, he'll be called upon  to disable it.

That's why for this op, Tunnel Rat leaves his favorite weapon, a .30 cal. machine gun behind, in favor of the small yet reliable Uzi.
