Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have split, her rep tells Usmagazine.com exclusively.

"They are still friends," a source close to Barrymore tells Us.

Barrymore, 33, and Long, 30, have been together since August 2007.

"I've been very fortunate," Long told Us in November. "I just feel very blessed and happy!"

The two knew each other for seven years before becoming serious.

"My cheeks hurt, I'm so happy," Barrymore told March's Vogue when asked about the relationship.

Asked what comes to mind when he thinks about Barrymore, Long gushed to the magazine: "Beauty and light, and she shines it on everybody who comes into contact with her."

The couple will star in He's Just Not That Into You, due out in February.

The most recent statistics from Ireland’s Central Statistics Office (CSO) reveal that the number of marriages has been increasing steadily. In 1996 16,174 people tied the noose knot. This figure had risen to 21,841 in 2006. Of course these figures can be linked to an increase in the population over the same period but I wonder what other factors are having an effect here?

I doubt it’s coincidence that the marriage rate has increased since 1996. The year before, in 1995, there was a referendum on divorce in Ireland and divorce was finally introduced in the State in 1997. There seems to have been a shift in attitudes relating to marriage since- Older singletons are waving their hands in the air like they just don’t care, shouting from the rooftops that being single is fabulous and that marriage stifles the spirit. Meanwhile a growing number of young people- who you'd expect to be dating, shagging and having fun, damn the consequences and don’t mention the C word (commitment) - are actually looking to settle down earlier. Perhaps people see the “marry them and drop them” trend that’s taken hold in the world of celebrity and view marriage as being without consequence?

The number of divorced persons in Ireland increased from 35,100 to 59,500 between 2002 and 2006, an increase of 69.8 per cent, making it the fastest growing marital status category. The number of separated persons increased from 98,800 to 107,300 over the same period – up 8.6 per cent.

So for the youth of today marriage appears to no longer be a scary word and commitment no longer brings spotty youths out in a cold sweat... Having problems in your relationship? Sex life a bit drab? Want to spice things up? Can’t figure out how to unlock your girlfriend’s chastity belt? Mmm….get married…sure if it doesn’t work out we can just ‘pull a Barrymore’! And how will we plan our wedding? Kritik:

"Donnie Darko" ist einfach Kult, obwohl in keiner versteht (oder gerade deswegen). Für das mysteriöse Ende gibt es hunderte an Intepretationen. Auch wenn man das Ende nicht versteht wird man voll und ganz zufriedengestellt. Obwohl während dem Film durchgehend eine düstere Grundstimmung herrscht verursacht er eine gute Laune beim Zuschauer. Richard Kelly hat sich offensichtlich an den Filmen von David Lynch orientiert und das Ergebnis kann sich ohne weiteres mit den Werken des Mystery-Großmeisters messen.

Jeff and Jay at that point were not talking to each other. The tension was palpable, with Jay walled off and aloofly cocooned, and Jeff noticeably upbeat -- perhaps relieved the end was near. I remember that the Bottle Rockets opened the show, and vaguely recall Brian Henneman joining them onstage. That the line-up, apart from Jay, essentially became the band that only months later debuted as Wilco. (I also remember staying up all night at a hotel on E. Wash -- the Aloha?--with Jeff and the guys, joined by Mark Spencer of Blood Oranges -- who was touring with Freedy Johnston. The Bushmills did us in as we watched the 1967 Casino Royale spoof on late-night television -- starring Peter Sellers, Woody Allen and Orson Welles -- it was a hoot.)

A lot has happened to Wilco since, more than can be captured in a single paragraph. The Reprise to Nonesuch saga resulting in the ground-breaking Yankee Hotel Foxtrot -- expertly captured in the great documentary I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, a Grammy nod for A Ghost is Born, and several line-up changes, including the addition of avante-garde jazz guitarist Nels Cline.

That Nels would join Wilco in 2004 was no real surprise Wilco fans, even those who preferred the early days of A.M. and Being There Cline is highly revered in No Wave and free jazz circles, an area of interest for Tweedy and Co. spurred by their collaboration with NYC producer/musician and Chicago transplant Jim O'Rourke. (O'Rourke and Tweedy had recorded a record together with drummer Glenn Kotche under the rubric Loose Fur, which led to Kotche joining Wilco in 2001.) Cline was also a member of The Geraldine Fibbers in the 1990s, a band that played the East End around 1997. I'm not sure, but they might have opened for indie supergroup Golden Smog, another one of Tweedy's side projects.

An instrumental trio, The Nels Cline Singers offer an evening of improvisational jazz that rarely comes to Madison, at least not since 1993-94, when John Zorn visited Madison twice in the span of six months.

It certainly is. Especially with Christmas in the offing. Capra warms the cockles of our hearts with this much loved classic as Charles Dickens did a century earlier.  Angels and Christmas are now packaged as Christmas spirit comes by an act of will as shallow as a smile. Yet new generations are added to the ideas of self-sacrifice and reward, and an oh so happy ending that could bring any suicide back from the brink. No small achievement if this were true?

Angels are discussing George Bailey (James Stewart), a small town savings and loan proprietor. Life is getting him down and he's thinking of ending it all. His childhood dreams of travelling the world and doing great things have not been fulfilled.  

    I'm shakin' the dust of this crummy little town off my feet and I'm gonna see the world. Italy, Greece, the Parthenon, the Coliseum. Then, I'm comin' back here to go to college and see what they know. And then I'm gonna build things. I'm gonna build airfields, I'm gonna build skyscrapers a hundred stories high, I'm gonna build bridges a mile long...

 He had to sacrifice his chance of going to college for his brother and despite his own aspirations he ended up marrying his childhood sweetheart (Donna Reed) and running the family business in Bedford Falls. Now, thanks to his absent-minded uncle unwittingly giving a pile of money to an unscrupulous banking rival, he's got money problems and is ready to throw himself from a bridge.

 Enter his appointed guardian angel, Clarence Oddbody (Henry Travers), a trainee hoping to win his wings. Clarence shows George what a terrible place Bedford Falls would be if it hadn't been for George and his string of good deeds. He's saved lives, protected the town from the money grubbing banker Potter (Lionel Barrymore), built decent homes for folk and so on and so on.

 When, after Clarence's intervention, George returns home, the townsfolk are there with thousands of dollars from their savings, just to save George from going to jail. He is back with his family. It's lovely. A bell tinkles on the Christmas tree.

Zuzu his daughter says: Look, Daddy. Teacher says, every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.

George (grinning): That's right, that's right. (He congratulates Clarence, looking upward and giving a wink.) Attaboy, Clarence.

Corny eh? But George has found his own rewards and gifts - life, redemption, and freedom. The swelling sounds of Auld Lang Syne build to a crescendo in an affirmation of life. [The film originally ended with 'Ode to Joy.']

The film doesn’t pretend to be arty or of highbrow. It is as honest as a fart and Frank Capra knew how it could be done as natural without offending the fine sensibilities of others. I mean he let the reprehensible act of Potter, despite stealing money from the Bailey Building and Loan go unpunished -- something unusual for the average Hollywood movie at the time. The inclusion of this sop to popular hypocricy would have diluted the film message. Our lives like that of George touch everyone else's. How the good or bad is repaid is subjective and Capra simply told a story intelligently and straight to the heart.


 This film bombed at the box office which is probably why it won no Oscars despite 5 nominations. Repeated holiday TV showings from the sixties onwards hammered home the point. A lot of people like it now. 

    This is a film that people either love or hate... it's an unashamed statement to the innate goodness of human nature or alternatively it's sentimental goo.

non si ricorda affatto di lui e scopre che, da un brutto incidente automobilistico, la ragazza riporta una lesione cerebrale che le provoca la perdita della memoria a lungo termine. Per questo motivo tutto ciò che rimane nella memoria  di Lucy quando si alza la mattina è a prima dell'incidente.

Il padre di Lucy (Blake Clark), pescatore in pensione, e il fratello di lei (Sean Astin), un aspirante body-builder, fanno di tutto per evitare che lei ne soffra scoprendo la verità, ed ogni giorno fanno in modo che la ragazza riviva tutto come allora in ogni minimo dettaglio.

Henry si innamora, non si arrende e cercherà di conquistare la ragazza tutti i giorni, come se fosse sempre il primo incontro. Troverà il modo di lasciar traccia nella memoria di Lucy?

Storia con un filo di tristezza ma allietata da gag esilaranti. Piacevole da guardare.

Un Adam S. che riveste ruoli non prettamente comici, come in uno dei suoi ultimi film: "Cambia la tua vita con un click".

All kinds of hats. Even without a particular head in mind.

They are relatively quick and don't use a ton of yarn. Plus I feel relatively guilt free if I decide to/have to frog and start over. AND I feel comfortable trying new techniques that would be intimidating on a larger scale.  It's kinda like a big, wearable swatch now that I think about it.

My latest hat attack is the Barrymore Slouch Hat .

I waited ever so patiently for it to be released. 2 whole months!

It arrived on Friday and I cast-on Sunday. With sweet sweet Malabrigo Silky (50% silk 50% merino wool). Dear God. I want EVERYTHING I own to be made with this yarn. It is the sweet nectar of life.

I'm having a teensy worry about the palate I chose. More importantly as to what color is the MC (main color) and what is the CC. I picked lettuce as the main and acorn for the contrast. It's looking a lil pea soupy and like it may wash me out. Shoulda had the brown be the main or gone for the pink.

Oh well. I'll just make another one if it comes down to it. I may also attempt my first overdye too.

The pattern itself is pretty easy but still interesting enough to keep me from being bored.

I loves loves loves this hat.

And its MINE.

The show is also unique as the latest of a series of True Endeavors shows benefiting a community organization. In this case, one dollar from every ticket sold will go directly to WORT 89.9 FM, Madison's premier community sponsored radio station.

Like X, WORT is also a recent thirtysomething, debuting on the airwaves on December 1, 1975. The station is a product of the efforts of many, with over 2200 individuals contributing annually to help offset station costs and hundreds of others volunteering to maintain the station's programming. The station has grabbed a niche in Madison as a home to the interests and support of the "uns" of society, as John Ohliger described in a 1994 speech at a station meeting: "The unabashed, unafraid, uncensorable, unconventional, uninhibited, unorthodox, unpretentious, unstinting, unsung, untiring, and finally, definitely, unique."

Despite continued support from the Madison community, the station has faced its fair share of obstacles, particularly with the influence of new laws being put into the books by the Bush administration, such as the 2007 Media Ownership Act.

"The current administration has succeeded in cutting the budget for publicly-funded stations, thus stifling creative and independent voices in favor of fewer and fewer points of view," describes Sybil Augustine, WORT music director. "Corporations are allowed to monopolize many TV and radio stations, as well as newspapers, in the same markets. We are sliding down a very slippery slope."
