Me han convencido a probar amarok en sustitución a rhythmbox una temporada, la verdad que es muy completo, tiene un mejor soporte de ipod, tiene buen soporte de podcast, radios shoutcast ... una maravilla el único problema es que las teclas multimedia no me funcionan en gnome. Buscando plugins para amarok he encontrado este plugin para Amarok que soluciona el problema.

• Nos bajamos el archivo y lo almacenamos en nuestro pc.
• En el amarok. Herramientas -> Gestor de scripts -> Instalar el script y seleccionamos el archivo que acabamos de bajar.
• Si no os funciona comprobar que teneis los paquetes (python-dbus y libdbus-glib)
• Por último para configurar las teclas que queremos usar solo hay que ir a “Sistema–>Preferencias–>Atajos de teclado” y listo

El equipo de Amarok, en una breve pausa del maratón frenético de codificación hacia la versión final, se siente muy complacido en anunciar,la Beta 2 de Amarok 2.0. What was missing in beta 1 was lyrics applet(a functional one!) which is now present and rocking in Beta 2 alongwith Lyricwiki support and support for chinese lyrics too.Automatic cover fetching is also there so its pretty much a complete media player now.Full changelog can be obtained here . Ocorre que um dia resolvi testar meu favorito tocador de música digital usando a base de dados MySQL, é padrão do Amarok usar a base de dados SQLite, pois é claro, ela não necessita de ajustes do usuário e é salva em um arquivo .DB dentro do diretório de configuração do Amarok, fácil de trabalhar e manipular, no entanto, as consultas feitas nela levam muito mais tempo que em base de dados MySQL ou PostgreSQL, para quem só quer ouvir música e não se importa com o desempenho o SQLite é perfeito, mas, este não é meu caso, usei Slackware Linux por quatro anos em meu Desktop e tudo que eu fazia era compilar, compilar e compilar, sempre tentando extrair o máximo de performance do meu Hardware, se é também seu caso vamos para o passo-a-passo.

Abra seu editor de textos favorito e um terminal, com o terminal vá até o diretório: ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok com o comando:

cd ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok

se você listar os arquivos deste diretório terá uma estrutura semelhante à esta:

Veja que marquei um arquivo chamado collection.db, é nele que ficam os dados que precisamos pegar, então faremos da seguinte forma: separaremos os dados da estrutura do banco de dados e em seguida enviaremos isto por um pipe (|) para o MySQL, parece difícil, mas, é muito simples.

Execute seu MySQL em um terminal e crie um banco de dados chamado amarok e dê ao usuário amarok todas as permissões, como mostrado a seguir:

$ mysql -p -u root

mysql> CREATE DATABASE amarok;

mysql> USE amarok;

mysql> grant all privileges on base.amarok to amarok@localhost;

Se você abrir o Amarok agora e informar em Configurações/Coleção que deseja usar como base de dados o MySQL ao invés do SQLite o Amarok irá criar uma estrutura semelhante à seguinte, porém faltarão algumas tabelas, e isto pode causar vários erros ao importar os dados do SQLite para o MySQL.

A maior parte dos manuais e artigos pela internet dizem para fazer isto, mas, vamos seguir outro caminho, vamos extrair a estrutura que está dentro do arquivo ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection.db, desta forma você não corre risco de tentar inserir dados em uma tabela que possivelmente possa não existir.

O primeiro passo será todas as informações que estão no arquivo collection.db, para isto faça:

sqlite3 collection.db .dump > amarok.sql

Este comando irá criar um dump do banco de dados SQLite e direcionar o mesmo pelo sinal de maior '>' para o arquivo de texto amarok.sql. Abra este arquivo com o editor e veja a estrutura completa da base de dados.

No meu caso, o arquivo resultante ficou com pouco mais de 9MB e pouco mais de 100.000 linhas.

Se você abriu o arquivo verá que a estrutura tem alguns parâmetros que o MySQL desconhece. Agora vamos remover as linhas desnecessárias e criar o arquivo com os dados.

grep -v "CREATE INDEX" | \

grep -v "CREATE UNIQUE INDEX" > amarok_dados.sql

Deste comando resultará um arquivo chamado amarok_dados.sql, abra ele no editor de textos e você verá que ele somente tem inserções, mas, onde será inserido? Pois as tabelas ainda não foram criadas, para criar a estrutura do banco de dados passe o seguinte comando:

cat amarok.sql | \

grep -v "BEGIN TRANSACTION;" | \

grep -v "COMMIT;" | \

grep -v "INSERT INTO" > amarok_estrutura.sql

e o comando a seguir para evitar o erro: “ERROR 1071 (42000) at line 7: Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes”.

replace "VARCHAR(1024)" "VARCHAR(996)" -- amarok_estrutura.sql

replace "VARCHAR(256)" "VARCHAR(255)" -- amarok_estrutura.sql

Agora abra o arquivo resultante do comando, o amarok_estrutura.sql e todas as linhas que não iniciarem com CREATE UNIQUE INDEX, CREATE TABLE e CREATE INDEX você deve apagar, ou melhor dizendo tudo que não iniciar com CREATE você deve apagar, salve o arquivo e estamos prontos para inserir a estrutura e os dados, lembre-se que durante os passos você de maneira alguma pode ter iniciado o Amarok, pois ele iria criar a estrutura e então você teria algumas mensagens de erro.

Passe o seguinte comando no terminal para criar a estrutura e inserir os dados respectivamente na base MySQL.

cat amarok_estrutura.sql | mysql -u root -p amarok && \

cat amarok_dados.sql | mysql -u root -p amarok

Se ocorrer algum erro com uma mensagem semelhante à seguinte: “ERROR 1062 (23000) at line 5298: Duplicate entry './*** ' for key 1 ”

Você terá que abrir o arquivo amarok_dados.sql e encontrar a linha duplicada e remove-la manualmente, no caso acima, a linha que deve ser removida é a 5298, e em seguida você deverá remover toda a estrutura do banco de dados amarok e fazer este ultimo processo novamente.

Um simples comando no MySQL é bastante:

DROP TABLE `admin` , `album` , `amazon` , `artist` , `composer` , `devices` , `directories` , `embed` , `genre` , `images` , `labels` , `lyrics` , `magnatune_albums` , `magnatune_artists` , `magnatune_tracks` , `playlists` , `podcastchannels` , `podcastepisodes` , `podcastfolders` , `related_artists` , `statistics` , `tags` , `tags_labels` , `uniqueid` , `year` ;

Assim que enviar todas as informações para o MySQL, abra o Amarok e re-escaneie toda a sua coleção.

Se ainda assim tiver problemas com o Dump da estrutura você pode baixar um aplicativo chamado sqlitebrowser, que está hospedado no SourceForge, para usuários do Ubuntu 8.04 basta acessar este link <apt://sqlitebrowser> para a instalação do sqlbrowser, para outros http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlitebrowser/

Get amarok

Error al cargar el medio. No se ha encontrado ningún complemento desmultiplexador adecuado. Normalmente esto significa que no se reconoce el formato del archivo.

Ese error me apareció cuando intenté reproducir un archivo mp3 (un mal necesario). Estuve investigando un rato e instalando paquetes para ver que si amaroK podía reproducir Mp3.

En el Blogdrake encontré la solución. Tan simple como teclear en consola:

rm -r .xine

Y listo. Otra vez a reproducir Mp3.

Para instalarlo, Añadimos la siguiente linea a nuestro fichero /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/project-neon/ubuntu hardy main

Luego actualizamos la informacion de los repositorios:

$ sudo apt-get uptdate

y despues lo instalamos:

$ sudo apt-get install amarok-nightly

Se crea una entrada nueva desde Aplicaciones > Sonido y Video desde donde podemos lanzarlo.

Y asi tendremos un amarok que para mi punto de vista es mas vistoso. Aquí les dejo unos screeshots

Cosa è?E' il protocollo usato dai nuovi lettori multimediali, che permette di scambiare dati(Img,Mp3.Video..ecc)..allegando le informazioni necessarie per la loro gestione, tra cui i DRM dei file trasferito, tutto questo in totale sicurezza.

Bhè non vi nego che ho avuto un attimo, dicamo di "appannaggine", ma poi risolto tutto per il meglio.

Procedura!

1-Scaricare le libmtp da qui

1-Per chi ha Gentoo, emerge -a libmtp e passi al punto 4

2-Scompattiamo il file tar xzf libmtp-0.3.3.tar

3-Adesso dobbiamo compilare, per chi come me usa Gentoo ormai il compilare è un fatto quotidiano "riderai axelbad!", invece per chi ha qualche problema andiamo con la procedura.

cd libmtp**

./configure

make

sudo make install

Bene fatto ciò abbiamo compilato le nostre belle librerie.

4-Cerchiamo il dispositivo con il comando mtp-detect

5-Ora dobbiamo montare il dispositivo con mtpfs /mnt/<vostracartelladispositivo>

per smontare    sudo umount /mnt/<vostracartelladispositivo>

6-Bene dopo che abbiamo montato possiamo passare i file.

Grafico: basta entrare nella cartella e passare le canzoni ma ho riscontrato alcuni problemi di permessi, dandomi un errore, che se io lascio stare li, le canzoni me le passa tranquillamente senza nessun problema.

CL: dare questi comandi:

mtp-connect --sendfile FILE DIRECTORY

Bene un altro strumento che può aiutarvi è Amarok, "per i Gentooniani basta compilare Amarok con la USE="mtp" per avere il supporto mtp"

Per associare il disp. a Amarok basta andare

Impostazioni > Configura Amarok > Dispositivi > Aggiungi Dispositivo

e selezionare Dispositivo multimediale Mtp dare un nome a scelta e date ok.

Riavviate Amarok andate in Dispositivi, date un Connetti e appariranno tutte le vostre canzonuccie.

Når man har installeret andLinux på sin Windows maskine, så ligner det bare en stor pakke med alskens fri software. Men under overfladen er det faktisk et helt Ubuntu system der kører med en Linux kerne og hele molevitten. Dette kan lade sig gøre takket være opfindsomhed hos nogle dygtige programmøre samt en uhørt stor flexibilitet i Linux.

Hvis man ikke vidste bedre, så ville man ikke ane, at der kørte en Linux kerne samt dertilhørende system parallelt med Windows

Det er faktisk ganske let at få en funktionel andLinux op og køre. Jeg startede med at downloade KDE version herfra - hvis man har lidt ram, så er XFCE version nok at foretrække. Installationen er ligetil, dog måtte jeg vælge at benytte mig af COFS da installeren nåede til punktet "Windows File Access" - jeg ikke har 100% administrator rettigheder over maskinen og kunne derfor ikke dele filer på min Windows maskine. Som jeg har kunne læse mig frem til, så anbefales det at bruge Samba, da COFS kan være noget ustabil. Efter den obligatoriske genstart af Windows var jeg kørende. Efter at have bootet maskine op igen og logget på så jeg at der nede ved uret, var dukket et KDE ikon op og ved at klikke på ikonet dukkede følgende menu op:

Jeg åbnede for Konsol-terminalen og skrev "apt-get install amarok" ... vupti så begyndte den sørme at installere Amarok. Efter installationen skulle jeg blot skrive amarok i Konsol-terminalen og Amarok startede op som hjemme på min Linuxmaskine. Samme ydelse, samme funktionalitet. Det er en win/win situation.

andLinux kan anbefales til Linux brugere der for eksempel sidder ved en Windows maskine, der er sikkerhedsmæssigt sat restriktivt op og savner nogle af de gode velkendte applikationer fra Linux miljøet. Det kan også eventuelt anbefales til nybegyndere, der gerne vil lære lidt om Linux, men føler at de ikke har de fornødende kompetancer til, at kaste sig ud i at installere Linux.

1. Install Amarok: This step is pretty simple. Just "sudo apt-get install amarok". If you are using GNOME, then kde libraries will also be installed automatically. So it may take a bit longer.
2. Install MySQL Server: This is easy too: "sudo apt-get install msyql-server". During the installation, you will be asked for a "root password". This is different from from your Ubuntu's "root" account: this is a mysql user called root.
3. Create a amarok user in Mysql:
   • Log into mysql as root: Type one the terminal "mysql -u root -p". The "-u root" tells mysql that you want to log in as root, and "-p" says that you have a password that you want to supply. So you will be prompted with a password. Enter the one you supplied during mysql installation.
   • Create an amarok database: Once you have logged into mysql, you will have a mysql prompt ("mysql >"). To create the database, simply type "create database amarok;". Yes, you need to terminate the command with a semi-colon. This creates a database named "amarok" (No prizes for guessing that).
   • Create amarok user: Now to create the user, type "grant all privileges to 'amarok-user'@'localhost' on amarok.* identified by 'amarok-password' with grant option;" This command will create a user in mysql with username "amarok-user" and password "amarok-password".
4. Tell Amarok how to talk to mysql: You can do this at two places -
   • In the First-Run wizard: Here, you will be asked to select the directories to include in "The Collection", and how to store the collection. In the How, select "MySQL". Fill out the "host" as 'localhost', port as '3306' (this should be correct in 99.99% cases). Fill in database = amarok, username = amarok-user, and password = amarok-password. Note that these paramaters are the ones that you supplied in step 3.
   • Later on: Go to Settings > Configure Amarok > Collection tab. Set the folder(s) you want to monitor first. Then select the "database" as "MySQL". In the configuration, enter host = localhost, port = 3306, database = amarok, username = amarok-user and password = amarok-password.

Ta-da! Its done!! Now Amarok will take some time to build your collection, and then you'll be ready to rock and roll!

Anyways, my ideas that i've been brewing for a while that i've always needed to blog about:

• Mod audio players to look more like amarok and less like itunes; candidates: foobar2000, quarkplayer, musikcube2
  • likelyhood of doing it: slim, bit more than slim with foobar since i'd just need to make a component
• CD ripping support for amarok: i submitted this to Gsoc in '08.  No bites.  oh well
• just a CD ripper: queues as the main interface element, to rip as much as possible at the same time.
  • why? current interfaces suck
  • possible, but unlikely atm
• mduel remake
  • my cousin's doing this, he's started in python, restarted in c and is now restarting again
  • i tried this a couple years ago in java, restarted once, would restart again
  • would wait to see if joel comes thru, steal his code and port it to java and/or Qt, otherwise, still possible

  • when i get free time, i'll do it.  depends on my war3 cravings.  Qt4 ftw!

Okay, also hier ist die Sache: Amarok ist das Konkurrenzprodukt zu Apple iTunes. iTunes 8 wurde vor einer Woche veröffentlicht, nun ja, dann ist Amarok natürlich gleich nachgezogen. Bildet euch eure eigene Meinung, ich denke es ist ein schamloser Fake von Amarok.

Amarok para mi gusto es el mejor reproductor multimedia en Linux, pero hay un problema, solo está en inglés...

Para ponerlo en español, pon esto en una terminal:
sudo apt-get install language-pack-kde-es-base language-pack-kde-es

Si aún no tienes amarok copiate esto en la terminal:

The problem is that the default embedded database uses sqlite to store the collection information, which doesn’t scale quite as well as a dedicated database such as MySQL… so we’ll switch to use that instead.

Configuring MySQL for Amarok

These instructions assume that you don’t already have MySQL installed. If you are already using it, then just skip the first couple of steps.

Assuming you are using Ubuntu, run this command from a terminal to install the MySQL server and client on your system:

sudo apt-get install mysql-client mysql-server

For security’s sake, you should probably set a root password for your MySQL server using this command:

sudo mysqladmin -u root password “mynewpassword”

You can use the “flush privileges” command or just restart MySQL:

sudo /etc/init.d/mysql restart

Next we’ll use the mysqladmin command to create a database for Amarok to use:

sudo mysqladmin -u root -pMyRootPassword create amarokdb

The final command line step will setup the user account for Amarok in MySQL. Make sure to use a different password here.

mysql -u root -pMyRootPassword

> GRANT ALL ON amarokdb.* TO amarok@localhost IDENTIFIED BY ‘amarokpassword’;

> FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

Configuring Amarok

Open the Amarok configuration dialog via the tools menu and then pick the Collection icon on the left.

Change the drop-down to MySQL, and then enter in your details:

• Hostname: localhost
• Database: amarokdb
• Username: amarok
• Password: password from step above

Close out of the dialog, and then you’ll have to rescan your collection to move everything into MySQL, which might take a little while the first time.
