Agyness Deyn (born Laura Hollins^[1] on 16 February 1983^[2]) is an English model. Deyn is hailed as "the fashion industry's next great supermodel" and an "ambassador of British youth culture."

Deyn is from Failsworth in Greater Manchester.The daughter of a nurse, Lorraine, and second of three children she attended All Saints RC High School , as well as Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School and Sixth Form in Waterfoot, Rossendale. Deyn has a younger sister, Emily and an older brother Greg.

Deyn's name was apparently coined after she consulted her mother's friend, a numerology expert who advised her of the most 'fortuitous' way to spell the name 'Agnes'.

While some may criticize Kate for living in the fast lane, I say lay off.  She may look a bit haggard, but hey, she's pushing her mid 30s and can boast 15 years in the fashion world's extreme madness of a lifestyle. Seeing two non-photoshopped photos from '07 and '08 show a noticeable difference (even with makeup usage).  Swapped with a youthful glow are heavy bags and skin that could use a seaweed wrap.

Dear Agyness: slow it down 'ol gel; before you look in the mirror and realize that you more closely resemble raisin faced stylist Rachel Zoe than a supermodel.

That being said. Love Love LOVE Agyness Deyn. Love. Her. The quirky, punky, androgynous, 3rd sex thing she has going on. Makes me want to stare at her. Loved her since back-in-the-day when I saw a Seventeen mag spread on her when she was up and coming, about how all these Brit teens where copying her style. So when JPG came out with "Ma Dame", he had me at Agyness Deyn. Hahaha! I love the commercial for it! It's so fun! I wonder what "Ma Dame" smells like...

I love how she's a supermodel but she looks atypical.

Isis is no longer in the running...I was rooting for her too...go Sheena! hahaha!

I'm sure you all know by now we don't get invitations for anything since we're supposedly the next fashion generation. We might get some when we're a bit older and our arms look like this. But now, with hard and nice muscles we don't get sh*t, so, obviously, we have to crash.

Today's choice: Burberry's show.

First tip: fashion shows never, but I mean NEVER, start on time. But you can arrive early and wait for the cool people to get in. I'm sure you'll eventually bump into Scott Schuman aka The Sartorialist wondering the streets around in his 1,50m high.

Little by little the important people start to arrive. Franca Sozzani, Anna dello Russo with lovely amazing assistant we totally heart you Viviana Volpiccela, people we don't know, more people we don't know but are probably famous, Carine Roitfeld, Suzy Menkes.

Basta, the show starts and you're left outside. There's no way in, the place is full bla bla bla.

So now you just do some small talk with people around for like 15 minutes, cause that's what shows usually last.

Bum bum bum, everybody's out. Cameras ready, here they come: Anna Wintour, Rachel Zoe, models, more models, oh my God it's Agyness! Click click click and basta, everybody's gone.

What's next to crash? The Vogue party! And there we go, in our bikes or other means of cheap and public transportation.

Again: we can't get in without an invitation, which also means we can't get out with the nice and cool goodie bag! Dam! There's Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana, everybody - but us.

So, when you're about to give up, there she comes: Suzy lovely Menkes in her best day ever:

- Isn't this the most beautiful place you've ever seen it?

- Oh yeah, but they won't let us in.

- Oh, why not?

- 'Cause we don't have an invitation!

And that's when she softly puts her hand in your back pushing you to vogue heaven, with a smooth whisper of "have fun", sounding just like someone who will never need an invitation for anything in this fashion life ever.

Renata will surely tell you better about this moment any time soon now.

We (not her) had to wait outside, again. But we had great champaign, salmon and caviar - no fashion, which doesn't necessarily mean no fun.

the chicken fillet in my sandwich was hot and tender and juicy,
and the veggies! they were soo fresh!
which was something refreshing,
i mean seriously, compare the lettuce they use to those they put in your burgers at fastfood joints..
DIFFERENCE IS BIG.
it's like saggy,limp boobs vs. firm ones..

Zweimal wurde dort eine Arbeit von Ryan McGinley (Fotograf) und Katie Grand (Stylistin) gepostet. Das erste mal ohne erklärenden Text, und ich dachte mir so, naja, Agyness Deyn fällt aus einem Hochhaus (entweder Trampolin oder Matte), und das teilweise nackt. Langweilig.

Das zweite mal gab's folgendes Zitat von Katie dazu:

"[Ryan] sent me this reference photograph of kids falling off a fire escape — it was from the 1950s I think — and said he'd really like to have [Agyness] falling. And naked. So we ended up with two stunt men and Agyness jumping naked from five stories onto a huge huge crash mat. It was incredible."

In Kürze: 1975 versucht ein Feuerwehrteam eine Frau und ein Kind aus einem brennenden Gebäude zu retten, indem es eine Leiter an die Feuertreppe bringt. Sekunden bevor diese die Menschen erreicht, gibt die Treppe nach und Frau und Kind stürzen zu Boden, nur das Kind überlebt.

Und dann denkt sich also Ryan, wie inspirierend! Ich will, daß unser Model auch aus einem Haus fällt! Nackt! und Katie sagt, oh, super Idee! - Tadaa (falls sich das jetzt noch wer ansehen will).

Ich weiß, Kunst darf alles, bla bla, diskutier, schwafel, aber a) ist Kunst ein sehr dehnbarer Begriff und b) find ich's so oder so geschmacklos. (Und am Rande auch bemerkenswert, daß in einem Kommentar gefordert wird, die Stylistin solle doch auch mal aus einem Haus springen, nur ohne Matte drunter... aber der Fotograf, dessen Idee es war, muß sich anscheinend nicht die Beine brechen.)

Hauptsache die Kleiderkollektion sieht gut aus. Und Agyness nackt, zomg!

Everytime I see an Agyness Deyn post somewhere, some idiot has to chime in with their disdain by referring to her by her birth name only. Wow. How dare she use a name more to her liking?

Should we also criticize Anna Mae Bullock, Margarita Cansino, Frances Gumm, and the list goes on folks, for having the audacity to change their names?

PIPERS, Highland ghillies and lumberjacks are set to become unlikely fashion icons this autumn when tartan hits the shops as the latest style trend.

High street shops, including Next, Topshop and H&M, have embraced the Scottish pattern, incorporating it into everything from overcoats to ballgowns.

Tartan hit the catwalks in February when designers unveiled their autumn collections, and Scottish designers also took last week's London Fashion Week by storm with their collections for next spring.

With Scotland's own Fashion Council also launching last week, experts are predicting all things Scottish to come into style over the coming months.

Tartan hit the mainstream thanks to British designer Henry Holland and model Agyness Deyn, who took to the catwalk in a tartan ball dress, tartan antlers and a matching eye patch.

It was also adopted by Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren and Just Cavalli, which pushed tartan to be adopted by many shops for their autumn collections.

Brian Wilton, director of the Scottish Tartans Authority, said: "The fashion industry has gone crazy for tartan. It's great for tourism because every time someone sees tartan they think of Scotland.

Henry Holland is a fairly new designer to the scene. His business soared and his teeshirts flew off shelves with his collection of neon, block-printed teeshirts that everyone wanted. My favorite? "Do Me Daily Christopher Bailey". Quite funny.

So when Henry showed House of Holland just a few days ago in London, all eyes were on him. Turns out, he put together one of the most fashion forward collections I've seen in ages. Obviously it's not for everyone, but it is definitely something a) new b) fresh c) spring. Home run.

I am particularly excited about the sheer shorts suit for men and his amazing party dresses for women. The layering of florals, polka dots and hawaiian prints shouldn't work, but it totally does.

Another trend I've been seeing for men is this idea of man-tights. Armani, or was it Lanvin, did it for Men's Spring 2009 back in July and now Henry has brought out some polka dotted versions. Shorts suit, man-tights and polka dot espadrilles? Sounds like I know what I'm wearing for spring.
