Tampaknya Mac emang didesain untuk produktif, sampe-sampe gak ada tempat untuk tweaking lagi untukku. Dan yang selama ini aku cari adalah program pengelola/pengorganisasi foto. Dari FastStone, IrvanView, ACDSee, sampe Picasa2, aku masih tetep aja gak puas. Tapi di Mac ada program namanya iPhoto, bagian dari iLife. Aku bisa ngorganisir ribuan foto dengan mudah n cespleng.

Kalau kita pake kamera digital ada puluhan/ratusan foto, tinggal masukin aja ke iPhoto dan nanti bisa kita split per group dengan mudah hanya dengan 1 klik. Aku malah bingung, koq segampang ini ya??? Sampe2 istriku berbahagia. Katanya, "syukurlah... waktu untukku jadi lebih banyak..." :-D segitunya.

Om Bill Gates, aku bukan benci sama kamu. Terima kasih udah membesarkanku dengan MS-DOS dan Windowsmu. Tapi juga, gara-gara kamu pula aku banyak habis waktu untuk trobelsuting. Kamu salah kalau kamu ingin user mengerti cara komputer (baca: Windows) bekerja. Steve Jobs justru membuat komputer (baca: Mac) mengerti user. Itu yang saya rasain om Bill... Piss ah...

ACDSee nie ma obsługi unikodu, przez co np. azjatyckie znaki w nazwach plików mogą być niepoprawnie wyświetlane.

Oprócz standardowych funkcji, takich jak przeglądanie folderów z widokiem miniatur, konwersja między różnymi formatami graficznymi, ACDSee pozwala na prezentacje slajdów, nagrywanie płyt CD/DVD, tworzenie galerii HTML, edytowanie metadanych (np. Exif). W nowszych wersjach ACDSee znacznie przybyło funkcji do edycji fotografii, oprócz często spotykanych funkcji jak skalowanie, obracanie, operacje na kolorach, znajdują się funkcje bardziej zaawansowane, takie jak odszumianie, usuwanie efektu czerwonych oczu, efekty artystyczne oraz PhotoRepair (gdzie metodą klonowania pędzlem, można poprawiać zdjęcia, np. fotomodelek).

Even though this is an ABR file, it's not a Photoshop ABR and will not load in other software programs, but why would you need them to? Photo Editor has everything a digiscrapper could want and for a much better price! You can even try it out for 30 days.

O ACDsee é um ótimo programa para organização e visualização de imagens. Apesar de suas versões anteriores terem deixado um pouco a deseja, na versão 10 do photomanager o pessoal da ACDsee foi muito feliz. A interface se assemelha a do explore windows, porém há opções de fundo negro, classificação de fotos e outros recursos para trabalhos com imagens. O Photomanager 10 também possui um editor com opções básicas para correção.

Cara klasik ini memiliki sedikit tiga kelemahan. Pertama, sobat harus membuka editor gambar untuk menyimpan file hasil tangkapan. Kedua, area yang akan ditangkap adalah keseluruhan layar dan sobat harus membuka editor untuk mengatur area layar yang akan disimpan. Yang ketiga, posisi pointer mouse tidak akan tertangkap.

Ketiga kelemahan ini dapat diatasi dengan bantuan program ACDSee. Nah, mungkin sobat bisa ikutin cara berikut :

1. Jalankan ACDSee dari menu [Start] > [All Programs] > [ACD System] > [ACDSee8]
2. Setelah jendela program ACDSee terbuka, klik menu [Tools] > [Screen Capture…]
3. Di jendela yang baru muncul, sobat dapat menentukan area yang akan di-capture. Untuk mengambil gambar selayar monitor, pilih saja [Current Monitor]. Tapi bila sobat ingin mengambil gambar dari salah satu jendela, area atau obyek tertentu, pilihlah salah satu mengambil gambar dari salah satu jendela, area atau obyek tertentu, pilihlah salah satu opsi [Window], [Region], atau [Object].
4. Agar dalam area capture gambar posisi cursor mouse dapat terekam, beri tanda cek di depan [Include mouse cursor]
5. Di area Destination, sobat dapat menentukan lokasi file hasil capture akan disimpan. Apakah gambar tersebut akan disimpan di clipboard, file atau akan dibuka dengan editor.
6. Opsi yang tak kalah penting ialah menentukan bagaimana gambar akan diambil. Di sini ACDSee menyediakan dua opsi, apakah sobat akan menggunakan shortcut keyboard untuk mengambil gambar ataukah dengan timer. Tentukan sesuai dengan kebutuhan sobat.
7. Setelah setting ditentukan, klik tombol [Start]. Gambar akan segera diambil setelah waktu pada timer tiba atau jika sobat menekan shortcut di keyboard.

Sebenarnya sih, kita bisa buat slide show selain menggunakan Power Point. Salah satunya dengan menggunakan ACDSee. Dalam beberapa hal, program ini bahkan dapat berperan lebih hebat disbanding PowerPoint. Contohnya, bila anda ingin membuat slide show yang berisi koleksi foto anda. Dengan menggunakan PowerPoint, anda harus membuat slide dan memasukkan gambarnya satu persatu. Tapi, di ACDSee gak usah kayak gitu.

Contoh lainnya, saat anda mempublikasikan slide tersebut. Tentu tidak akan bisa dibuka pada komputer lain yang mana komputer tersebut belum terinstal PowerPoint. Aih… repotnya…
Lain halnya dengan ACDSee, program ini dapat membuat slide foto dengan beberapa langkah saja dalam satu wisaya. Hebatnya lagi, slide show yang dihasilkan bersifat mandiri. Artinya anda gak perlu nginstal ACDSee di komputer yang akan membuka slide show tersebut, asyikkan ???

Untuk membuatnya :

1. Jalankan ACDSee dari menu [Start] > [All Programs] > [ACD System] > [ACDSee8]
2. Pada jendela utama ACDSee Photo Manager, klik [Create] > [Create Slide Show File…]
3. Sebuah Wisaya akan terbuka. Pilihlah radiobutton [Create a new slide show:] dan [Standalone slide show (.exe file format)], kemudian klik [Next]
4. Di wisaya berikutnya, pilihlah foto-foto yang akan dijadikan slide show dengan menekan tombol [Add…]. Setelah daftar foto terbentuk, klik [Ok] dilanjutkan dengan mengklik [Next]
5. Sekarang tentukan animasi transisi yang anda inginkan pada menu Transition. Anda juga bisa menambahkan Caption dan suara pada menu Caption dan Audio. Setelah semuanya terisi lengkap, klik [Next]
6. Kini sobat tentukan durasi slide, audio di latar belakang, headerm dan footer untuk tiap gambar slide pada tab [General] dari [Text]. Jika sudah, klik [Next] sekali lagi.
7. Di wisaya ini, sobat dapat menentukan nama dan lokasi file output, termasuk pengaturan ukuran gambar.
8. File slide show akan segera dibuat begitu sobat mengklik [Next]. Lamanya proses ini tergantung dari banyaknya file yang anda jadikan slide show.
9. Setelah slide show selesai dibuat, klik tombol [Finish].

Banyak yang menginstall program Image Viewer yang lain seperti ACDSee, Picasa, FastStone Image Viewer, The Gimp, dll. Yang akan kita bahas kali ini adalah program FastStone Image Viewer.

En mi pasada vida con Windows usaba ACDSee para manipular las fotografías: cambiar el nombre, añadir comentarios, retocarlas.., pero esta aplicación no está disponible para Linux por lo que hay que buscar una alternativa.

La primera opción en que pensé fue el Gestor de fotos F-Spot del que ya he hablado. Con éste ya puedes hacer algunas cosillas como renombrar las imágenes de forma masiva e incluso retocar las fotografías (aunque por lo poco que he visto hasta ahora no parece muy potente).

Visto que no podía modificar las etiquetas EXIF decidí visitar The Linux Alternative Project, web que busca alternativas a aplicaciones de Windows en Linux. Esta web sugiere tres alternativas para ACDSee: Gwenview, GQview y Eye of GNOME. Repasando las características parece que solo GQview es capaz de manipular etiquetas EXIF.

La instalación de GQview requiere de unos cuantos pasos. En primer lugar hay que instalar alien y unrar con el comando sudo apt-get install alien unrar. A continuación descargamos el paquete RPM de instalación desde la página del proyecto. En este caso yo descargué el paquete gqview-2.0.4-1.i386.rpm.

En el siguiente paso, según se detalla en Ubuntu Guide, hay que debianizar (¡toma palabro!) el paquete de instalación por lo que abrimos un terminal, vamos al directorio donde está y lanzamos el comando sudo alien gqview-2.0.4-1.i386.rpm que generará el paquete gqview_2.0.4-2_i386.deb.

Por último, realizamos la instalación en sí de GQview con el comando sudo dpkg -i gqview_2.0.4-2_i386.deb.

El uso de GQview me resulta un poco raro por lo que he tenido que echar mano del manual. En cuanto a las etiquetas EXIF se pueden leer pero poco más. Esto no es lo que buscaba así que tendré que seguir buscando...

Users have to buy or upgrade to new version! Buy 129,99, and upgrade 90,99 (30% discount)!

When I tried to track back ACDSee promotion, I read that they offered Summer Savings for ACDSee Pro 8 (or 1)which was Half Off 64.99 from 129.99! And this was until August 10, 2007!

I hope that those buyers during that period received free update from ACDSee.
