Ici, on ne voit pas très bien, en raison du contrejour, causé par le soleil couchant, mais si l'on regarde bien, on peut voir l'ouverture pratiquée dans la forêt, pour laisser place à l'A-5.

On voit l'amoncellement de blocs de styromousse, installés afin de servir de base à la chaussée de l'A-5, en direction sud.  Cette technique est utilisée pour réduire le poids des matériaux qui servent de base à la chaussée.

En me retournant vers le nord, on voit la fin de l'amoncellement de blocs de styromousse, à l'endroit où il reste encore un peu de montagne à retirer.

Au bout des blocs, en regardant plus loin, vers le sud, le terrassement de l'A-5 sud est plus avancé.

Cette fois, c'est la chaussée vers le nord, que l'on voit, mais en regardant vers le sud.  À l'avant-plan, une potence de lampadaire, avec la conduite électrique, en plastique.  Au-delà de la potence, la conduite est fraîchement recouverte de sable,...

...alors que si l'on regarde vers le nord, la conduite n'est pas encore recouverte.  Au loin, à droite, c'est la route 105.

À nouveau, la chaussée nord, vue d'un peu plus loin, vers le sud.

Sur la chaussée sud de l'A-5, un plan de concassage.  Il est fréquent, sur des chantiers de cette envergure, que l'on installe une telle usine directement sur le site, ce qui réduit le transport de la pierre fraîchement dynamitée.

Entre les deux chaussées, un poste de pesée, pour les camions qui transportent la pierre concassée.

Le soleil commence sérieusement à baisser.  Ici, à gauche, la bretelle d'entrée, depuis le chemin de la Rivière, et à droite, la chaussée nord de l'A-5.

Nous voici tout près du viaduc que l'on a vu dans la première moitié du paquet de photos.  En contrebas, la bretelle de sortie, à la fin actuelle de l'A-5 nord.

Cette fois, c'est le viaduc de l'A-5, en direction sud, au niveau du chemin de la Rivière.  Au loin, les feux des véhicules qui prennent l'A-5 sud, vers Gatineau.

Dans les commentaires reçus suite à la publication de la première moitié des photos de ce chantier, celui de Félix, qui me disait que ce petit bout de chemin, qui relie la fin actuelle de l'A-5 à la route 105 n'est pas une portion de chemin de la Rivière.  À proprement parler, il a raison, parce que l'intersection de la route 105 et du vrai chemin de la rivière est située à environ 125 pieds au sud de celle de ce chemin de raccord.  Je ne voudrais pas créer de désaccord, ici; il est plus que probable que la municipalité de Chelsea, là où se situe la scène, n'appelle pas ce raccord "chemin de la Rivière", mais quand l'A-5 sera prolongée, la sortie 21 sera identifiée comment, d'après vous?  Je n'ai pas interrogé qui que ce soit, au MTQ, mais il est plus que probable que l'on voit, sur la supersignalisation, la mention "chemin de la Rivière", probablement accompagnée d'une mention pour le Parc de la Gatineau, parce qu'il n'y a pas vraiment autre chose, dans les environs, que ce soit un chemin principal, ou un périmètre urbain quelconque.

Par contre, ce même Félix a aussi mentionné que "ça sent 2009".  Sur ce point, le MTQ, sur son site web, prévoit que ce tronçon sera effectivement ouvert à l'automne de 2009.  Le site raconte également, de façon plus vague, en utilisant le terme "échéancier technique planifié", que le tronçon suivant, de six kilomètres et demi, qui permettra de relier l'autre tronçon existant de l'A-5, près du village de Wakefield, dans la municipalité de La Pêche, sera construit entre 2009 et 2012, alors que le dernier, long d'environ un kilomètre, qui permettra d'éviter une section particulièrement dangereuse, sur la route 105, devrait être réalisé à partir de 2013, et être ouvert à la circulation en 2014.

When I say talking, I mean talking for an hour or two on the phone every day. That's how it began. Now we are hanging out- discussing the crossroads we each sit at and how to get to the next stage in our life.

We've been working out together at the Botanical Gardens and have had a few sleepovers. 

On on hand, I think What am I doing? We broke up- I'm not giving myself a chance to meet other people. But on the other hand, I think I don't want to meet any other people- I only have 2 1/2 months until I move to LA and I need to work on myself.

He's the only person in my life who #1 knows all of me (he is my best friend, after all) and #2 is trying to grow up like I am.

All of our other "friends" (who, by the way, I rarely hear from) are 2-3 years younger, stuck in the party-til-you-pass-out phase, and happy with it. Not to mention Wink and I are way beyond our years. We should be hanging out with thirty-something-year-olds. We're mature and want to have conversations about life and dreams complimented with a glass of wine. Not conversations about sex and drugs, and a bottle of Jack Daniels to compliment our problems- like our current circle of "friends".

It sounds like I'm making excuses about hanging out with Wink. I probably am. However, I've made a commitment to being honest about my life with my readers, and I intend to do that.

So, I'm being honest with you and telling you we're spending time together again. I am being very careful, nevertheless. 

We're not back together, we're just getting to know each other again. Which is nice, because there isn't any pressure. If I decide I want to see someone else, I promised I would let him know, and that would be the point where we go our separate ways, for real.

Although, to be honest, I don't think we ever will. I think there is something about our souls that just love each other- and at bare minimum we will continue to be friends.

Besides, I have 2 1/2 months left and all I want to do is get my Portable Empire (in the words of Pat O'Bryan) started, gain financial independence and feel confident in Blake again.

This time around, my friend Wink and I, are discussing life, what we want in a new group of friends, and how to get from here to there.

We've been reading together, working out together and eating sushi. I like this. I have plenty of time alone, but when I want to talk about my idealistic dreams and the predicted "showing" of the Galactic Federation of Light (an extraterrestrial light ship of Love and Peace scheduled to show itself in our atmosphere on Tuesday 10/14/08), I call Wink. Bet you guys didn't think I was that radical, did ya? Hope you love me anyway. :-)

This brings me to my next example of keeping a positive attitude in the face of disaster.

I was at Wink's house yesterday after class before we went to meet up with an old friend of mine I hadn't seen in a year at a sushi bar to celebrate her birthday. We were making dinner (we're both currently unemployed and trying not to use our credit cards) so we would only order one roll to share at the sushi bar to save money- great idea by the way! We only spent $40 for both of us and I got a little toasted :-) -when suddenly his roommate, we'll call him Red,  comes in the door and says,

"Blake, I just hit your car."

Up to this point, I had a huge smile on my face and wasn't going to let Red's irresponsible behavior ruin it. We went outside and saw that as (sober) Red was backing up, his Left side mirror struck the side of my car, leaving quite a few scratches in the paint, and a small dent. 

I knew getting upset would do no good, and I had been depression-free all day, so I forced myself to keep smiling, saying things like, "Red! You're sober and you can't even back up! (laugh) You definitely should never drink and drive!" 

I thought about the fact that my dad would kill me, Wink and Red, if he found out about this (he's currently making my car payments- God bless him) but I didn't let that get to me, either. I knew getting upset was a waste of my time and I didn't want this situation to ruin the rest of my night.

I decided Wink and I would talk about it later, and we would work something out. I felt like I was in a very bad position, since Red was Wink's roommate, and I didn't want to file a claim for this reason- so I trusted the Universe that it would all work out.

Wink and I talked about it and he said he would take responsibility and help me take it to a shop where we could get it fixed, and he would make sure Red (or Red's parents) would cover the costs. He assured me he would talk to Red and get it taken care of. 

The situation still hasn't been dealt with, but I have faith that it will all go very smoothly.

In a situation when I could have blown off the gasket, I kept my cool, but most importantly, I didn't internalize my anger. I allowed it to flow through me. I felt an energy pulsing through my veins, but instead of allowing that energy to take on a life of its own as anxiety, I let it flow through me, integrating it into forgiveness.

Red still hasn't apologized once for what happened, but I have already forgiven him.

That's what forgiveness is all about- forgiving someone before they even apologize. Because most people won't. You can't let things like that get to you. You don't allow yourself to live your life when you do.

The other wonderful thing about forgiveness is that when you forgive, it opens up the door for you to forgive other aspects of your life. One dose of forgiveness gives you the glasses you need to see the other areas that need forgiveness too. And once you forgive, you feel clear and open to the possibilities of the Universe. 

For example, before this situation occurred, I had very mixed feelings about Red. I felt like he was an immature, irresponsible child stuck in a 20 year olds body. It drove me crazy that he never picked up after himself, was always taking advantage of Wink and leaving Wink to play the role of mommy. I didn't live there, so it wasn't my place to say anything, but I secretly was dying for Wink to move out of that mess hole. 

After the car accident, and my smooth attitude about the situation, I realized something.

Personal Development gurus have always said that when you are irritated with someone else in your life, the aspect of that person that irritates you is actually a reflection of something within yourself you dont' like and you aren't dealing with. This really hit home for me last night when I realized that the immature, child like aspect of Red was exactly what I am currently dealing with within myself. 

It drives me crazy that I am not responsible. I have discipline issues and I sleep through my alarm frequently, or have to press the snooze button 5 times before I can get out of bed. I am always struggling to pick up after myself and recently have been blaming others in my life for my problems.

I am behaving just as bad as Red!

Now that revelation wasn't as easy to admit as it seems, but once I did, a MASSIVE wave of forgiveness and acceptance swept over my entire Being. I felt like a HUGE weight had been lifted off me and it felt great.

Which lead to another revelation.

I'll make this quick since this blog is already at 1,366 words. :-)

Over the past month, through the breakup and get back together routine between me and Wink, I have had extreme animosity with a girl we will call Miss Forte. Miss Forte lives with two of my "friends" in the party circle and is very close to my roommate, we will call Mr. Alluring. Mr. Alluring and I had a few make out sessions while Wink and I were on a break. He is called Mr. Alluring for a reason- there is just something about him that I am extremely attracted to.

Apparently while Mr. Alluring and I were "hooking up" (not having sex, mind you) he was also "hooking up" with Miss Forte. He would come home late at night after spending time with her and hook up with me.

I didn't know this at the time- it was just exciting to me to spend time with something other than the routine boyfriend (whom I loved dearly- but the spark was beginning to dwell, hence we took a break).

After Wink and I decided to get back together (much too quickly- I barely had time to ingest what was going on) friction began to emerge between me and Mr. Alluring. He is my roommate (I live with 5 other people), after all.

It became apparent that Miss Forte didn't like me anywhere around Mr. Alluring, afraid that I would steal him away from her. I was confused because I thought they were just friends.

I confronted Mr. Alluring about  hooking up with Miss Forte at the same time as me (I wouldn't have minded, had he just been honest- I am an advocate for open relationships, after all) and he told me nothing was going on between them. Of course, I later heard otherwise, from Wink of all people, and more drama ensued.

Then, during a fight between Wink and I at a party at my house, Mr. Alluring and I stepped away from the chaos to discuss my well-being and he kissed me. I pulled away, telling him I liked him, but I  wasn't a cheater and left. After this, things just became awkward between me and Mr. Alluring, and Miss Forte was doing everything possible to keep me away from everyone. It is obvious that she doesn't like me and wants me to stay away from Mr. Alluring. It seems that some sort of "competition" has arisen, probably because she feels she has to compete because (this is hard to write without sounding conceited) I am better looking than she is.

Still to this day, I haven't confronted Mr. Alluring about lying, nor tried to straighten things out with her (obviously there is just a huge misunderstanding going on).

Instead, I have internalized my anger, frustration and jealousy and began to hate her.

Which is funny, because she didn't do anything wrong- Mr. Alluring is the one who hooked up with both of us at the same time, lied about it, then kissed me while I was with someone else, behind Miss Forte's back.

Yikes.

Back to forgiveness.

After the car accident situation with Red, and realizing he was only mirroring what I don't like about myself, I came to the same realization about the situation with Mr. Alluring and Miss Forte.

I am mad at her because she got the guy, he picked her over me, and I was lied to and used.

The thing is, she did nothing wrong. He lied to me- but I stirred up all this drama just as much as they did. I wasn't being entirely honest myself, nor was I being an adult about the situation and I was just as much to blame. I shouldn't have invested so much energy in someone who wanted me just for a fling, and I should have taken responsibility for sneaking around with the situation just as much as he did.

All in all, there is no reason for me to be mad. I have forgiven Miss Forte for projecting her anger onto me, and I have forgiven Mr. Alluring for lying and sneaking around.

Yesterday, I was dying to confront them both. Today, I am just happy that I have forgiven myself.

And that's all that really matters.

Wow, it feels good to be depression-free. One day at a time.

What just happened last week when the Bailout Bill passed?

Americans were handed the blueprint for the dissolution of the Middle Class.

In a nutshell, our government has condemned the American Middle Class, for generations to come, to economic serfdom, a form of servitude, that will never be paid in full due to the practice of fractional reserve banking. In essence, the world's ultra-elite, mega-rich families managed to obtain the last smidgen of wealth from the Middle-Class, which is the death knell for this socio-economic group of Americans, and with increased pressure to raise the Income Tax could reach 65%. Think about that for a moment. Let it sink in real good.

The "good life" is over, crashed and burned down a bottomless financial hellhole where more than half of the work week will be in service to our masters for their illegal income taxes. Most of us will be lucky if we have the purchasing power to buy basic necessities. Forget about buying yourself that little something extra at the end of a long week, or picking up a cute toy for the children, or that anniversary gift for a devoted spouse. The money won't be there. This frightening scenario isn't a nightmare any longer, it's here and now, and we better prepare ourselves for drastic changes.

That's how they intend to turn America into a third-world country, which is devoid of a healthy Middle Class. Only the rich and the poor will remain. These two socio-economic groups might as well be standing at opposite ends of the Continental Divide to demonstrate the vast differences between them.

But there's more - in order to enforce 'their' will upon the American people these Zionist Banker Robber Barons are fine-tuning their plans in order to implement martial law finally ushering in the American Police State. "They" now realize that Americans and others around the world are waking up, which is the reason why things are happening at an ever increasing rate. "They" are also keenly aware that when the American people really begin to suffer, that's when payback time begins and our masters will be the ultimate targets, which is the other reason the government is developing a game plan for a mass confiscation of all civilian firearms and weapons at the first opportunity.

Usually accepted belief was that these plans would come to fruition sometime around 2012 because our masters intended to coordinate their evil agenda to coincide with the dire prophecy in the Mayan calendar. However, "they" didn't plan on the internet and its diverse ability for humanity to be able to communicate all over the globe, so they are becoming increasingly anxious and, maybe, just a little hesitant that their lifelong plans may, yet, again fail because the world became aware at just the correct moment.

So, what next?

To be honest, I have no idea; but I do know that the usual and customary conventional methods to express our outrage, such as, calling or writing our Congressional Representatives is an utter waste of time.

As are many of you, I am still in complete shock over the events that unfolded in Congress last week. As Rep. Michael Burgess stated, "they", the House of Representatives, were threatened with "constitutional" martial law if they failed to vote last Monday evening. Then Rep. Brad Sherman emphatically told the world on CNBC last Friday that the entire country would be placed under martial law if the ponzi scheme Bailout Bill was not passed. Apparently, Goldman Sachs jackals were either bribing or threatening members of the House to do their bidding. Does anyone else find these shocking events incredible, and, moreover, that they occurred in the light of day? 'Brazen' and 'audacious' may come to mind since it's more than a little obvious that these criminals are becoming increasingly confident.

I wonder if a large majority of the American people actually realize what happened last week? If they don't now, they soon will. The "window of opportunity", that I mentioned, for a mass awakening of conscientious slammed the door in our faces. Time ran out.

El titular rezaba:"Uno de cada diez trabajadores de los JJ.OO. se encontraba anteriormente en paro".  

Desde que en Octubre las Bolsas del mundo hicieran crack (o desde que los medios decidieran intoxicarnos con tóxicos y demás residuos económicos/políticos) el paro aumenta cada día (algunos periodistas afirma que a razón de 3.000 desempleados por día por lo que, dentro de poco y a ese ritmo, todos nos vamos a dedicar a la poesía) y todo el mundo grita exigiendo soluciones. Para Londres, una de las soluciones al problema del paro fueron los Juegos de 2012. No, no se trata de ponernos a celebrar Juegos Olímpicos por doquier  - tampoco a gastarnos el dinero público en funambulistas pero en fin -. Pero el hecho de que Uno de cada diez trabajadores que colaboran de alguna manera en la construcción del Parque Olímpico en Londres se encontraba anteriormente en paro nos lleva a la solución que siempre ha estado ahí: cubrir los puestos que durante años no se han cubierto.

Londres, ciudad de lujos donde los haya, se remangó las mangas por encima de los codos y puso a su comite de organización al mando de una tarea tanto empresarial como social. El comité contrató a 2.700 empleados en la construcción del proyecto olímpico, de los cuales alrededor del 9% se encontraba en el paro y una quinta parte de los cuales vivía en la zona donde se celebrarán los Juegos.  

"Trabajamos de manera muy estrecha con nuestros contratistas y diferentes compañías subcontratadas para asegurarnos de que, junto al legado de instalaciones deportivas, nuevas infraestructuras y el nuevo parque olímpico, los Juegos puedan también ayudar a los vecinos a edificar nuevas carreras de cara al futuro", indicó David Higgins, director ejecutivo de la Olympic Delivery Authority, organización responsable de la construcción de los estadios e infraestructuras para los JJOO de 2012.

Y es que en época de crisis no hay sitio para los sibaritas. Los anillos se han de dejar en casa y hay que ensuciarse las manos. Igual igual que en el deporte. Para las medallas y los logros siempre hay tiempo. Desafortunadamente para lograr superar una crisis como la que se cierne sobre nuestros bolsillos no.

Forget trying to count the number of angels on the head of a pin - there's an even more critical theological question weighing on the minds of Vatican astronomers: did God create little green men?

In an interview published today in the Vatican newspaper L'Obsservatore Romano, Reverend Jose Gabriel Funes, the Vatican's chief astronomer and scientific adviser to Pope Benedict, said that there's no conflict between the Christian faith and the existence of extraterrestrials.

But the idea that there might be intelligent life beyond Earth doesn't easily fit into the Christian worldview. According to the Bible, God created Earth as the centre of the universe and men in his own image. Would the Good Book's credibility be compromised by the discovery of alien life? I can just imagine the higher-ups at the Vatican pacing nervously as SETI began searching the sky for ET signals and surveys turned up planet after planet outside the solar system - some of which might be able to host life.

In a clever manoeuvre, the Vatican has pre-empted the threat an alien discovery would pose to Christianity. Now they say they won't be the least bit surprised should we make contact with our "extraterrestrial brothers".

And why should they? According to Vatican astronomer Guy Consolmagno, the Bible is chock full of references to aliens. In Intelligent Life in the Universe, published by the Catholic Truth Society in 2005, Consolmagno wrote:

"There are, unquestionably, nonhuman intelligent beings in the Bible. At least one group of such creatures is familiar to us all: angels. But are the 'holy ones', those 'in the sky', the 'morning stars', and 'heavenly beings' mentioned in Psalms and elsewhere references to angels? Or do they refer to some other kind of life beyond our knowledge?"

"If you're really eager to find a reference to extraterrestrials in the Bible," he writes, "you can't do better than John 10:14-16. 'I am the Good Shepherd . . . I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must bring them also . . . so there will be one flock, one Shepherd.'"

Other sheep? Aliens, obviously! And it sounds like they are on their way.

The existence of ET life does leave Consolmagno with some head-scratchers. Are they burdened with original sin? Is there a "cosmic Adam" that predates his Earthly clone? Does one baptise an alien?

When little green men finally make themselves known, the Christians will be ready for them. After all, as Consolmagno says, "Having a soul has nothing to do with how many arms or legs or tentacles you have."

Future president: of the USA (Barrack Obama) According to many visions and dreams I have had and a terrible gut feeling will be assassinated within 3 days or 3 months...the reason is still unknown to me and the details of the assassination are very vague however even if they were not I would not disclose the details and I wont in the future as I know the details will most likely become clear soon...it is not my place to change the future only to prepare those in it.

When ever I have the vision of the president being asassinated I see the number 3 which I am guessing has to do with the time frame however I am NOT God and I could be wrong, his asassination could be done by three people or in a third world country or in the third state etc there is no way to be sure exactly what the 3 represents, it could even represent 3AM which to many is the hour of the beast.

In light of my first posting of my predictions on my blog I will say this the future can NOT be altered no matter how hard you try if a person is due to pass on to a higher existance then this will happen at all costs because unfortunatly we do NOT make the rules, we can prolong it for a little while however fate will catch up no matter what you do before you can even blink, and for those who are non believers in anything other than what is right in front of their faces I tell you this, I am not saying that this is 100% accurate I am simply putting it out there because I feel that the world should be ready for this and hopefully the president...if it does not come to pass then I wont feel bad I will rejoice, murder is NEVER a thing to feel good about, and we all know that who ever is planning this could also change their mind would they ever come across this blog.

As I have said before to many I am but a messenger NOT a God, The Gods can and do change their mind whenever they please and unfortunatly I am left looking dumb or praised for my accuracy but do I ever regret my duty upon this earth? never because that would mean that I regret the creator himself.

Você temeria o futuro se levasse a vida de Tom Cruise, com mais de US$ 300 milhões no banco e presença garantida na lista de celebridades mais ricas do mundo elaborada pela revista "Forbes"? Então imagine o impacto da notícia, divulgada no ano passado, de que o superastro estaria construindo um abrigo subterrâneo de US$ 10 milhões no subsolo de sua mansão no Colorado. Segundo o relato publicado pela revista "Star", Cruise estaria convicto de que a Terra experimentará um contato potencialmente devastador com uma raça alienígena em 2012. Um porta-voz do ator desmentiu a notícia, mas o estrago foi feito. A história do bunker de Tom Cruise circula a todo vapor pela internet. Os adeptos do debate formam um grupo de tamanho indefinido, que se espalha por todos os continentes, e que acredita que a vida em nosso planeta vai mudar, para pior ou para melhor, em 21/12/2012.

Nessa data se encerra um calendário que era usado pelos antigos maias no auge da sua civilização. Por isso, todo o movimento envolvendo o ano de 2012 é chamado genericamente também de "profecia maia". Enquanto o tal dia não chega, a turma se prepara consumindo livros, documentários, DVDs e palestras. Uma busca pelos termos "2012" e "maya" (em inglês) no Google revela mais de 2 milhões de citações. Isso é a ponta do iceberg de uma riquíssima comunidade, estruturada em centenas de blogs, fóruns, sites, portais e até uma versão particular da Wikipédia, o "2012wiki". Em fevereiro foi lançado nos EUA "2012 - Doomsday" ("2012 - O Dia do Juízo Final") e dois outros filmes devem sair até 2010, um deles sob a batuta do diretor de "Independence Day" (1996), Roland Emmerich. Nos últimos dois anos, pelo menos 18 livros sobre o tema chegaram às prateleiras nos EUA, boa parte com termos como "apocalipse" e "cataclisma mundial" em seus títulos. Por aqui, só no primeiro semestre deste ano foram publicadas três obras.

Essa popularidade é o ponto culminante de um processo que começou há duas décadas. Em 1984, o americano José Arguelles publicou "O Fator Maia". Nele mesclava seus estudos sobre o fim do calendário maia com suas próprias idéias apocalípticas. Arguelles disse que a data marcaria o fim do ciclo do Homo sapiens e o início de uma época ecologicamente mais harmoniosa. E conclamou os leitores a se reunirem em várias partes do mundo nos dias 16 e 17 de agosto de 1987 para meditar e rezar, dando um pontapé inicial para o grande dia que ainda estava 25 anos no futuro. Esse evento, batizado de Convergência Harmônica, atraiu grande atenção da mídia americana e ganhou o apoio de celebridades como a atriz Shirley McLaine. "Arguelles se inspirou em um livro de ficção para criar a convergência harmônica, mas foi ela quem deu início à onda de 2012", afirma Robert Sitler, especialista em cultura maia da universidade Stetson, nos EUA. Arguelles ganhou fama e deu início a um movimento com seguidores no mundo inteiro, inclusive no Brasil. E a New Age ganhou sua própria dimensão profética.

De lá para cá, só fez crescer o número de pessoas que têm desenvolvido suas próprias especulações sobre o que vai acontecer na data tão esperada. E para isso vale recorrer a todas as ferramentas. Um belga utilizou a matemática e a mitologia para fazer uma análise comparativa das civilizações maia e egípcia. Concluiu que as duas são originárias de Atlântida e que o fim do mundo será causado por uma mudança no campo magnético da Terra, relacionada ao ciclo de manchas solares. Um ufólogo calculou a distância entre a linha do Equador e a cidade americana de Roswell, onde um disco voador teria caído. Encontrou o valor de 2.012 milhas - sinal, acredita, de que a queda do óvni foi uma mensagem cifrada sobre a data em que os ETs irão se revelar. Outro americano usou drogas psicodélicas e um computador para analisar o I Ching e concluiu que o livro é um calendário de eventos que prevê o fim da história humana em novembro de 2012 (a data foi ajustada depois). Um matemático, também usando um software, encontrou uma profecia codificada no Antigo Testamento falando de um asteróide (ou cometa) que atingiria a Terra. Um jornalista preferiu compilar os dados sobre vulcanismo, terremotos, queda de asteróides, radiação vinda do espaço etc. e concluiu que todos esses eventos devastadores têm forte possibilidade de acontecer em um futuro muito próximo. E é essa discussão, onde cabe tudo, que está entupindo a internet e as prateleiras. "Há muito pouco de maia nessa história. Essas profecias nada têm em comum, exceto o fato de se referirem à mesma data e apostarem numa transformação radical", diz Sitler.

Para o pesquisador inglês Joseph Gelfer, a aposta na mudança seria uma chave para entender essa onda. Gelfer estuda o interesse por 2012 na Austrália e lembra que profecias existem em muitas culturas. "Mas elas se situam num futuro longínquo, não são iminentes. Essa idéia também faz com que algumas das piores características dos nossos tempos, como as guerras ou a mudança climática, sejam vistas como etapas para a transformação", diz.

Outro fator importante é o grande volume de informação pseudocientífica. "Muitos dos que rejeitam os conceitos New Age se interessam pelas profecias de 2012. A maior parte do que se diz sobre o assunto é apresentado como o resultado de rigorosa pesquisa, mas são, na verdade, idéias questionáveis ou pura especulação."

MITO 1 - RESGATE ALIENÍGENA

Talvez o grupo que tenha mais esperanças positivas para 2012 seja o dos apaixonados por óvnis. Não dispensam o temor de um cataclisma, mas acreditam que a data irá inaugurar uma nova era para a humanidade, marcada pelo contato com os ETs. Eis um exemplo típico de profecia ufológica, colhida entre as centenas de sites que debatem o tema: "Crescem os rumores de que civilizações extraterrestres estão preparando um evento espetacular em 2012. Ninguém sabe ao certo o que os maias realmente esperavam para o iminente cataclisma. Mas agora muitos centros de pesquisa crêem que a Terra passará por um grande perigo em 2012 e depois. No momento certo, avançadas civilizações extraterrestres resgatarão a civilização humana. De acordo com pesquisadores, a Federação do Universo, representando todas as 88 constelações, virá oficialmente visitar a Terra. Isso porá um fim à ocultação de óvnis em todos os continentes".

O editor da revista "UFO", Claudeir Covo, vê tudo isso com o senso crítico de quem estuda ufologia há 42 anos. "Em 1999, também havia uma grande expectativa de contato. Isso só serviu para mostrar o quanto de fantasia ainda existe." Ele descarta os relatos daqueles que dizem ter sido avisados pelos próprios ETs de que 2012 será o ano em que faremos contato. "Já conheci e entrevistei quem alega se comunicar com alienígenas. Nunca vi uma evidência que me convencesse." Covo lembra de um caso ocorrido no ano passado. Sua revista publicou o relato de uma pessoa que afirmava ter recebido uma mensagem assegurando o contato iminente. "Evidentemente, nada aconteceu e a pessoa sumiu. Não acho que vá acontecer algo em 2012."

MITO 2 - PROFECIA MAIA
Textos originais são vagos e dão margem a todo tipo de interpretação. Foi o que bastou para a sua usurpação e a criação do mito contemporâneo sobre o Apocalipse

O calendário de conta longa é apenas um entre os vários que os maias usavam. Assim como os nossos meses, anos e séculos, ele se estrutura em unidades de tempo cada vez maiores. Cada 20 dias formam um "mês", ou uinal. Cada 18 uinals, 1 tun, ou "ano", cada 20 tuns faziam um katun e assim sucessivamente. Enquanto o nosso sistema de contagem de séculos não leva a um fim, o calendário de conta longa maia dura cerca de 5.200 anos e se encerra na data 13.0.0.0.0, que para muitos estudiosos (não há um consenso a respeito) corresponde ao nosso 21/12/2012.

Isso não significa que eles esperassem pelo fim do mundo naquele dia. "Os povos ameríndios não tinham apenas uma concepção linear de tempo, que permitisse pensar num fim absoluto", diz Eduardo Natalino dos Santos, professor de história da América Pré-hispânica da USP. Ele diz que há textos míticos maias que falam em idades anteriores ao aparecimento da humanidade atual, e afirmam que a era atual duraria 5.200 anos. "Mas em nenhum lugar se diz que o ciclo que estamos vivendo seria o último." A maioria dos estudiosos acredita que, após chegar à data final, o calendário se reiniciaria. Assim como, para nós, o 31 de dezembro é sucedido pelo 1 de janeiro, para eles o dia 22/12/2012 corresponderia ao dia 0.0.0.0.1.

Entre os milhares de textos maias conhecidos, há apenas um que faz menção à data. Uma inscrição encontrada na ruína de Tortuguero (Costa Rica) diz que nela virá à Terra Bolon Yokte K'u, deus associado à guerra e à criação. Um indício indireto da mesma profecia está nos "Livros de Chilam Balam". Escrita por vários autores após a conquista espanhola, a obra traz previsões para os katuns que, num outro sistema de contagem de tempo, se repetem a cada 256 anos. Para o katun associado a 2012, o livro prevê a chegada de vários seres, entre eles "aquele que vomita sangue" e o deus Kukulcan, muito popular na América Central.

Mas mesmo esses textos talvez não correspondam ao que entendemos por profecias. Natalino diz que, embora os maias tivessem uma visão qualitativa do tempo - havia períodos "benéficos" e "maléficos" - isso não implica que fossem fatalistas. Os finais dos ciclos eram datas religiosamente importantes, pois num deles a idade atual poderia terminar. "Mas os sacerdotes podiam realizar certas práticas que assegurassem a continuidade do mundo", explica Natalino. Ele diz que no período colonial e depois houve rebeliões populares inspiradas pelas profecias de Chilam Balam. "Mas basta dar um pulo à América Central para ver que os maias de hoje estão cheios de projetos e nem um pouco preocupados com 2012."

MITO 3 - INVERSÃO MAGNÉTICA

A luz e o calor produzidos pelo Sol tornam a vida na Terra possível. Mas, se não fosse pelas defesas que temos contra a radiação e o fluxo de partículas que chegam continuamente vindos da estrela, também não estaríamos aqui agora. Uma das principais defesas de nosso planeta é o seu campo magnético. Explicando de maneira simples, ele possui dois pólos, um norte e outro sul, que atualmente se situam mais ou menos perto dos pólos geográficos. Mas os geofísicos sabem que, de tempos em tempos, as polaridades se invertem, isto é: o ponto onde fica o pólo sul magnético se torna o ponto do pólo norte, e vice-versa. "Sabemos que centenas de inversões aconteceram no passado, mas não se sabe o que as causa", diz Eder Molina, professor do Instituto Astronômico e Geofísico da USP. A mais recente inversão ocorreu há 700 mil anos. E a próxima talvez esteja a caminho. "Sinais sugerem que alguma coisa está acontecendo. A intensidade do campo entre os pólos norte e sul está diminuindo. Acredita-se que essa diminuição possa ser parte de um processo de reversão, embora isso seja apenas uma hipótese."

A ocorrência de uma inversão súbita dos pólos magnéticos terrestres é um dos cenários apocalípticos previstos para 2012. Será isso que os cientistas estão detectando? "Não", diz Molina. "Os indícios sugerem um processo muito gradual, que levará talvez milhares de anos. Nós conhecemos muito bem o campo magnético terrestre, graças ao mapeamento feito por observatórios e satélites. Essas informações nos ajudam, por exemplo, a procurar petróleo e minerais valiosos. Se uma mudança brusca estivesse ocorrendo, já teria sido detectada." Molina afirma que veríamos muitos sinais, sob a forma de problemas nas telecomunicações e o desligamento de usinas elétricas. Não haveria como esconder um problema desses, pois o que estaria em jogo seria a sobrevivência da civilização. Mas não vemos nada disso por aí.

MITO 4 - CICLOS SOLARES

Aparente hiperatividade do astro alimenta especulações sobre bombardeio radioativo. Mas a estrela está se comportando conforme o previsto

Muitos dos cenários para 2012 baseiam-se na idéia de que o Sol estaria passando por um período de atividade sem precedentes. Os defensores dessa tese ressaltam o fato de que, entre 28 de outubro e 4 de novembro de 2003, ocorreram algumas das maiores explosões solares já registradas. Em 20 de janeiro de 2005, a Terra registrou o maior bombardeio de partículas de alta energia oriundas do Sol. Como 2005 foi o ano do furacão Katrina, há quem vincule os fenômenos, sugerindo que o clima é governado por variações na atividade solar. Como a previsão dos astrofísicos é de que 2012 registre um ponto de alta atividade em nossa estrela, há quem acredite que a soma de tudo isso seja uma catástrofe.

As variações na atividade solar são causadas por mudanças na configuração do campo magnético que ocorrem a cada 11 anos. Para Adriana Silva Valio, pesquisadora do Centro de Radioastronomia e Astrofísica Mackenzie, basta dar uma olhada nos dados dos últimos oito anos para ver que o Sol tem se comportado normalmente. De lá para cá, a atividade reduziu-se, e a tendência é que, nos próximos anos, volte a se intensificar, alcançando patamares elevados em 2012. Tudo isso está dentro do esperado.

O decréscimo da atividade aconteceu mesmo com as superexplosões de 2003. "O fato é que a tecnologia para acompanharmos o fenômeno é muito recente. Talvez eventos semelhantes tenham acontecido no passado", afirma Adriana. Ela também diz que o ciclo solar de 11 anos, por si só, não parece ser capaz de afetar significativamente o clima da Terra. "No ponto de maior atividade, a quantidade de energia solar recebida pela Terra cresce apenas 0,1%."

Porém, ela diz que fatores desconhecidos e ligados ao Sol parecem sim afetar o clima na Terra. "No século 18, o Sol não apresentou manchas por sete décadas. O mundo ficou mais frio, e os canais de Veneza congelaram. Mas parece que para que mudanças assim ocorram levam décadas ou mesmo séculos", diz.

MITO 5 - NIBIRU
Hipotético décimo planeta do Sistema Solar (há quem diga que se trata de uma outra estrela) estaria rumando de encontro à Terra. Acredite se quiser? Melhor não

Muito antes que a data de 21/12/2012 começasse a tocar corações e mentes, o israelense Zecharia Sitchin começou a divulgar suas idéias sobre a origem da Terra, inspiradas, segundo ele, na decifração de antigos textos babilônicos. De acordo com Sitchin, há em nosso sistema solar um objeto que a ciência moderna desconhece e que os antigos chamavam de Nibiru. Esse objeto, que pode ser um planeta ou uma pequena estrela, passaria próximo ao Sol a cada 3.600 anos. Sitchin afirma que, em uma dessas passagens, uma colisão entre um de seus satélites e um planetóide que existia entre Marte e Júpiter teria dado origem à Terra. Outros autores passaram a usar as idéias de Sitchin nos anos 1990. Eles dizem que Nibiru vai passar por perto de nosso planeta em 2012, e a atração gravitacional entre os dois resultará em dilúvios e terremotos.

Para Carlos Henrique Veiga, astrônomo do Observatório Nacional, é possível que existam planetas ainda desconhecidos no Sistema Solar. Poderiam ter, inclusive, algumas das características atribuídas a Nibiru, como um período muito longo e órbita extremamente elíptica. "Mas as órbitas de planetas não se sobrepõem umas às outras. Esse cruzamento só ocorre com cometas e asteróides." Quanto à segunda possibilidade, a de que Nibiru seria uma estrela se escondendo nas vizinhanças, Veiga diz que sua presença causaria uma alteração na dinâmica do Sistema Solar. "Tanto ela quanto o Sol teriam que girar ao redor de um centro de massa. Os planetas girariam em torno das duas ou desse novo ponto central. Não é isso que estamos vendo", afirma.

Outro cenário sugere que, em 21/12/2012, o Sol, ao nascer, estaria alinhado com o plano da Via-Láctea. Nessa posição, receberia algum tipo de irradiação misteriosa vinda do centro da galáxia. Essa informação, porém, é contestada até por autores de populares livros sobre 2012, como o astrônomo John Major Jenkins. O que é verdade é que o Sol está cruzando o plano da nossa galáxia, mas isso não é motivo para preocupação. "O centro da Via-Láctea está a quase 30 mil anos-luz de distância. Por isso, esse posicionamento não deverá trazer maiores conseqüências. No máximo, pode favorecer a atração de cometas e asteróides em direção ao Sol", diz Veiga.

Ho paura per i bambini che nasceranno tra dieci anni, sempre che il mondo sopravviva all'Apocalisse del 2012 ovviamente. Cresceranno con Berlusconi presidente della Repubblica, non oso immaginare quali idoli musicali, e figuriamoci che programmi tv. Per non parlare dei cartoni animati.

Se noi ventenni siamo stati indubbiamente la generazione più fortunata, anche i giovincelli di adesso tutto sommato non se la passano male: i cartoni Disney-Dreamworks di adesso a me sinceramente piacciono, dall'Era Glaciale a Kung-Fu panda. Il problema è che un filone destinato inevitabilmente ad esaurirsi, per mancanza di materia prima.

Quelli della classe 2018 - Maya permettendo - rischiano seriamente di avere con la nostra fauna da immaginario collettivo lo stesso rapporto che abbiamo noi coi dinosauri: un nostro Zoo sarà per loro Jurassic Park, a meno che tutti gli scienzati della Organizzazione Mondiale per la Conservazione della Natura abbiano completamente sbagliato cinque anni di ricerche e catalogazione.

Probabile quanto la vostra fine del mondo preferita, o Aldo Giovanni e Giacomo triumviri plenipotenziari (anche se pure le nostre tre più alte cariche dello stato non scherzano in quanto a comicità.)

Su 5847 specie di mammiferi esistenti, 1141 sono a rischio di estinzione. Una su quattro, il venticinque percento, se non l'aveste capito.

E non solo l'orice dalle corna a sciabola, o il cervo di padre David (pace all'anima loro, sopravvivono solo in comunità e sono destinati a sparire entro due generazioni), ma anche animali ben più comuni, tipo la tigre, l'orso polare, l'ippopotamo o il gorilla, il che vuole dire - per chi si fosse perso un signore chiamato Darwin - che è un po' come se stessimo uccidendo il nostro bisnonno, e non c'è nemmeno una eredità da riscuotere.

Ah si, dimenticavo: è tutta colpa nostra. Mia e tua.

Perchè di tutte queste specie solo il 2% muore di problemi legati a epidemie o simili, per il resto le cause di morte sono riduzione e/o distruzione dell'habitat naturale, caccia, inquinamento, cambiamenti climatici.

E il problema non è solo che non ci potranno più essere pubblicità della Coca-cola con i teneri orsi bianchi, o i cioccolatini kinder a forma di Ippopotamo, o tutti i peluches della Trudy, ma che al mondo - al di là del disegno divino di cui qualcuno ancora va blaterando - ci sono alcune semplici leggi naturali, quella dell'ecosistema e quella della catena alimentare ad esempio, che legano il nostro stesso destino a quello delle altre specie del pianeta. Perchè noi siamo mammiferi tanto quanto il povero orice dalle corna a sciabola (R.I.P.), e ad un certo punto non ci sarà rimedio artificiale che ci possa salvare.

O forse si, uno solo, ma credo ci sia ormai precluso: rinunciare alla nostra biblica arroganza (cit: "riempite la terra; soggiogatela e dominate sui pesci del mare e sugli uccelli del cielo e su ogni essere vivente, che striscia sulla terra"), reincantare il mondo e perseguire perlomeno la via di quello sviluppo sostenibile di cui tutti si riempiono la bocca, mentre i potenti ci parlano di ottimismo necessario, con motivazioni tipo "questo progresso ci sta distruggendo, quindi continuiamo a progredire, magari ci salva il progresso". Suona solo a me un tantino illogico?

Però vanno esattamente così le cose: le banche stanno collassando, le borse crollano, e nessuno tra tutte le soluzioni possibili ha anche solo vagamente pensato a proporre un modello alternativo. O meglio, c'è chi l'ha fatto (improvvise parole di saggezza di Sarkozy che dice: "il capitalismo finanziario va castigato per ridare la priorità all'industria, all'economia reale, alla creazione di una ricchezza non fasulla"), ma poi agisce esattamente in direzione contraria: per risolvere la crisi di questo denaro che non esiste, va a bruciare altro denaro che esiste, permettendo così ai banchieri - che hanno di certo rivelato tutta la loro competenza nonchè indubbia moralità - di, anzichè eliminare le mele marce, accaparrarsene il più possibile per poi farle pesare sui contribuenti.

Temo proprio che la leva 2018 oltre al Trudy dell'orso bianco non avrà nemmeno il caro vecchio libretto dei risparmi regalato dal nonno.
