"100," "Andong" win in 13th Pusan International Film Festival

Two Filipino films - the comedy drama 100 and the short film Andong won prizes in the recently concluded Pusan International Film Festival.
The Film 100 won the KNN Audience Choice Awards while Andong won the Sonje Award with a Korean film.

The Cinemalaya film 100 stars Mylene Dizon, Eugene Domingo and Tessie Tomas and was directed by Chris Martinez. The award also came with a cash prize of $20,000.

Andong is directed by Milo Tolentino is a short film about a six-year-old boy named Andong who is obsessed with P20.

Two Filipino films won top awards at the recently concluded 13th Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea.

Milo Tolentino’s “Andong” won Best Short (Sonje Award), and Chriz Matinez’s “100” won the Audience prize (KNN Movie Award ). The Audience Choice and Sonje awards come with $20,000 and $10,000 cash prize, respectively.

100, a flick that chronicles the last three months of a cancer stricken woman who has a list of things to do before she dies, also won the Audience Choice Award during the Cinemalaya Film Festival last July.The film stars Mylene Dizon, Eugene Domingo and Tessie Tomas.

Förra inlägget var mitt hundrade och jag visste inte ens om det! Det förtjänar ett litet utrop: *squee*
Anyway, back on topic!

Den senaste veckan har enligt mig varit en smula jobbig och stressig. Åtminstone lämnar den en sådan eftersmak. Vad som riktigt varit jobbigt kan jag inte riktigt sätta fingret på, men den har väl innehållit korta nätter, läxor, stressade biblioteksbesök och allmän oreda.

Jag spenderade senaste helgen hemma i Terjärv, åtminstone delvis, fastän det kändes som om jag var mera borta än hemma. På fredagskväll åkte jag och Emma till Efö för att få träffa gamla klasskompisar och lärarna på den traditionella fjolårsträffen. Det var verkligen trevligt, men jag kände nog en klump i halsen när vi gick in i festsalen och såg att “våra” platser, de platser vi alltid satt på i festsalen, var upptagna. Där satt de nya musikeleverna, årets musikstuderande. Dessutom var saknaden efter Bina väldigt påtaglig. Det var helt enkelt inte samma sak utan henne. Vi fick titta på bilder från fjolåret och skratta och sucka. Vi fick sjunga tillsammans med nuvarande Chorus Minor och, när Mattis till sist bestämde sig för att ansluta sig till oss, också framföra “Kolibrisången”. Åh, vilka underbara minnen vi fått under fjolåret. Vilket utomordentligt härligt år! Jag är så tacksam! Den traditionella volleyboll-matchen blev oväntat inställd det här året, till min stora glädje, så istället fortsatte vi med glasskonsumeringen i matsalen. Kvällen på Efö slutade dessutom på en härlig high note, när vår stora dröm gick i uppfyllelse. Hela fjolåret, eller åtminstone halva, gick vi och hoppades att vi någon gång skulle få möjlighet att sjunga “Rövarsången” (den ur Ronja Rövardotter, ni vet) i trapphuset i Kursgården. Där är akustiken obeskrivlig. Vi stod där, sex stycken, två herrar och fyra jäntor, i mörkret och hojtade på bästa rövarvis, medan årets studerande häpet lyssnade på väsendet. Det är en sång som jag alltid befarat att sjunga, eftersom det inte är så lätt att sjunga som en rövare när man vet att man inte är en, men jag har aldrig sjungit den så bra som då. Det som skulle ha gjort upplevelsen perfekt är ju förstås om Bina varit med. Till och med Nicko (musikläraren) tyckte att det var det bästa på hela kvällen (han var ensemblens ende tenor).

Jag kunde inte låta bli att titta in på församlingshemmet när jag kom inkörande i Terjärv senare på kvällen. Sara och Kyle McCartan var inbjudna på ungdomssamlingen och jag saknade verkligen mina ungdomar. De hade tydligen saknat Nina och mig också, eftersom de gjort ett jättefint kort åt oss. De är bara för gulliga. Kortet är uppsatt på köksdörren och uppmuntrar mig vid varje måltid. Det värmde verkligen.

På lördag var det dags för förlovningsfest, det första i vårt 9-, eller är det 10-mannagäng, och antagligen det enda på ett bra tag. Det var roligt att träffa alla igen, trots att två är utflugna utomlands, och höra vad som försiggår i deras liv. Det känns så konstigt att växa upp… Ja, förlovningen i fråga stod mellan Eva och Thomas.

Sidenote: Nina tittade just ut ur sitt rum och förvånades över att jag fortfarande är vaken. Stackarn är inte van med mitt nattuggleri. Nåja, någon gång ska vara den första.

Ikväll har vi tagit oss friheten att spendera en myskväll hemma. Vi har suttit och smuttat på varm O’boy och tittat på Annas film Jane Eyre - en väldigt bra film, förresten. Boken är också en läsupplevelse i sig.

Okej, kanske dags att så småningom krypa till kojs. Jag har en uppsats som måste förberedas imorgon. Oh, joy! Men Melinda kommer, så något har jag att se fram emot.

Berapa nilai intrinsik uang logam kita??

Beberapa waktu ini saya cukup penasaran untuk mencari tahu berapa sih kira-kira nilai intrinsik dari uang logam negara kita.. Memang dari dulu saya hobi celengin uang logam, habis dapat kembalian naik angkot atau parkir motor biasanya langsung saja masuk celengan.. Entah menurut saya rasanya lebih mantap megang logam dibandingkan uang kertas, terasa beratnya soalnya di tangan hehe.

Kemarin-kemarin sempat iseng menghitung-hitung koleksi uang logam saya, yang paling banyak pecahan Rp500,yang berbahan kuningan mencapai Rp171.000 dan aluminium Rp44.000. Sedangkan yang terbanyak kedua adalah pecahan Rp100 berbahan kuningan yang berjumlah Rp38.600. Untuk yang Rp100 berbahan nikel bergambar wayang sebenarnya banyak juga ada satu celengan sendiri tapi saya belum sempat menghitungnya.

Pecahan lainnya juga sebenarnya saya memiliki hingga yang paling tua mungkin uang Rp5 dan Rp10 emisi 1974 dan 1979 (jadi ingat beli permen pas jaman saya masih kecil tahun 80an masih pakai uang ini) , namun jumlahnya tidak terhitung banyak. Karena tidak ada niatan khusus untuk mengkoleksi jadi kondisinya dan jumlahnya pun sedapatnya saja.

Untuk mengetahui bahan pembuat uang logam di negara kita ternyata cukup sulit, baru kemarin saya menemukan di blog http://www.uang-kuno.com/2008/08/uang-logam-indonesia.html yang menjelaskan bahan uang logam di negara kita.

Seperti yang dapat dibaca disana, 3 uang logam terakhir kita bahannya terdiri dari nikel, kemudian kuningan dan yang terakhir adalah aluminium, saya masih belum tahu bahan pembuat uang logam pecahan Rp5 dan Rp10, dahulu sih biasanya uang ini disebut uang perak, 5 perak dan 10 perak, tapi apakah bahan pembuatnya adalah memang perak saya masih belum tahu.

Nah, sekarang bagaimana untuk perhitungan nilai intrinsiknya. Karena saya cukup malas untuk riset jadi saya hanya menghitung nilai intrinsik beberapa sampel saja sekedar menjawab kepenasaran saya .

Yang pertama untuk uang logam aluminium yang terbaru, dari pencarian saya menemukan blog http://priyadi.net/archives/2007/04/27/nilai-mata-uang-logam/ yang sudah cukup jelas membahasnya, namun saya ingin mencoba menghitung dengan harga aluminium yang baru saat ini.

Dari website London Metal Exchange http://www.lme.co.uk/aluminium.asp kita bisa mendapatkan harga aluminium terbaru yang saat ini adalah $2271,5/ton. Dengan mengasumsikan kurs dolar adalah Rp9500 didapatkan nilai pergramnya adalah sekitar Rp21,58/gr. Berdasarkan blog priyadi.net diatas uang logam Rp100 memiliki massa 1,79 gr sehingga Rp100 berbahan aluminium saat ini memiliki nilai intrinsik sebesar Rp38,62.

Untuk uang logam berbahan kuningan sayangnya saya kesulitan untuk menemukan massanya sehingga terpaksa saya harus menggunakan perhitungan sendiri.

Yang pertama adalah menghitung volume Rp100 kuningan tersebut, berdasarkan pengukuran memakai penggaris dia memiliki diameter sebesar 2,2cm dan tebal 1mm sehingga total memiliki volume:

1,1cmx1,1cmx3,14x0.1cm = 0.38 cm3.

Kemudian langkah selanjutnya adalah melihat massa jenisnya. Kuningan merupakan logam campuran antara tembaga dan seng, berdasarkan wikipedia http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuningan_(logam) biasanya tembaga berkisar 60% dan seng 40%. Dari wikipedia indonesia http://id.wikipedia.org/ Tembaga memiliki massa jenis 8,92gr/cm3 dan seng 7,14gr/cm3.

Dari variabel diatas akan didapatkan massa Rp100 kuningan adalah:

tembaga = 60%x0.38cm3x8,92gr/cm3 = 2.03gr

seng = 40%x0.38cm3x7.14gr/cm3 = 1.08gr

Berdasarkan harga London Metal Exchange tembaga memiliki harga $5504/ton dan seng $1507.5/ton, dari sini didapatkan nilai intrinsik Rp100 kuningan adalah:

Tembaga = $5504/tonxRp9500/$x2.03gr/1.000.000 = Rp 106,1

Seng = $1507,5/tonxRp9500/$x1,08gr/1.000.000 = Rp 15,47

Total = Rp121,57 !!!

Wah, lumayan juga ternyata saat ini nilai intrinsik uang logam kuningan Rp100 adalah 121,57 rupiah atau sudah lebih dari 1,2 kali lipat nilai ekstrinsik yang tertera :D.

Bagaimana untuk pecahan Rp500 kuningan?. Tampaknya untuk Rp500 tidak terlalu menggembirakan, berdasarkan pengukuran Rp500 memiliki diameter 2,4 cm dan tebalnya hampir sama, mungkin hanya selisih 0.2mm. Dengan asumsi memiliki tebal yang sama Rp500 memiliki volume:

1,2cmx1,2cmx3,14x0.1cm = 0.4522cm3 atau hanya 1.2x volume Rp100 sehingga nilai intrinsiknya hanya Rp 145.88 saja.

Kemudian yang terakhir adalah uang logam berbahan nikel. Untuk pecahan Rp100 berbahan nikel, ada dua jenis yaitu yang tebal emisi tahun 1973 dan yang tipis emisi tahun 1978. Berdasarkan pengukuran untuk yang tipis memiliki ketebalan sekitar 1mm dan yang tebal sekitar 2mm. Keduanya memiliki diameter 2,8cm. Disini kita akan menghitung yang tipis saja, didapatkan volumenya adalah:

1,4cmx1,4cmx3,14x0.1cm = 0.615cm3.

Untuk harga nikel saat ini adalah $13.405/ton dan massa jenis nikel adalah 8.91gr/cm3, didapatkan nilai intrinsik:

13.405$/tonxRp9500/$x8.91gr/cm3x0.615cm3/1.000.000 = Rp 697.8!!!

Saya terkejut juga setelah menghitung harga ini, berarti nilai intrinsiknya sudah hampir 7x lipat dari nilai ekstrinsiknya, apalagi ini masih yang versi tipisnya, untuk versi tebalnya tinggal dikalikan 2 saja.

Tapi ada satu yang menarik, setiap terbit uang logam yang baru pasti bahan pembuatnya menjadi lebih murah dibandingkan emisi sebelumnya. Artinya tentu saja jelas, sebenarnya nilai uang kita selalu turun dari tahun ketahun.. dan makanya setiap beberapa tahun akan ada penarikan uang logam emisi lama soalnya bisa terjadi nilai intrinsiknya lebih besar dari nilai ekstrinsiknya :D.

Intanto che noi comuni mortali siamo ancora tagliati fuori dal formato Blu-ray, Sanyo che sta mettendo a punto una nuova tipologia di raggio laser da 450 milliwatt, che permetterà di raddoppiare la capacità massima di un Blu-ray che attualmente è di 50 GB.

I prossimi masterizzatori Blu-ray saranno capaci di incidere un disco alla velocità di 12x contro i 6x attuali.

Il nuovo sistema di Sanyo scrive contemporaneamente su quattro strati e per tale motivo necessita dell’approvazione dell’associazione che regola gli standard Blu-ray.

96. Sonic Youth - Dirty

While some albums have aged in my collection like fine claret, I can't say that "Dirty" is better with the years. While it hasn't turned to vinegar, far from it, it is clear to me that it has lost some of its punch. Now, like Kim Gordon, it's still cool, but I have more respect than love for it.

The album is a sampling of splendid noise, with Gordon, Moore, Ranaldo and Shelley wrenching, purring, and distorting their way through 15 songs. It is the album that turned me on to noise-rock, and the collision of hard and soft, rough and gentle is masterful. Produced by Butch Vig, more than a little of the same approach can be detected in Garbage albums later on.

The album is at its best when listened to as a whole, rather than in parts. However, "100%", "Créme Brûlèe", "Youth Against Fascism", "Sugar Kane", and "Drunken Butterfly" are some of my personal favorites. The contrast from song to song is what makes this album great, so spring for the whole package if you can.

So I finally decide I should keep a blog. Like for real this time. It's a long story, my relationship with blogs. I will deal with it in a more detailed post later. However, I decided to move my 100 question meme from LJ to here. I will try to keep this account up to date.

1. One of your scars: How did you get it?

I don't have scars. Just those weird colored bruises. My skin bruises too easily.

2. What is on the walls in your room?

A huge Reservoir Dogs poster and a semi huge Sympsons - Dali parody poster. aa and a drawing of Spongebob for me by my roommate.(no longer since I can't find it...sorry)

3. What does your cell phone look like?

Sony Ericsson w330i me thinks. I wanna buy a Japanese mobile phone. Someday.

4. What music do you like to listen to?

Almost everything once. Having said that, I want to add that rock music rules my life, together with jazz and trip hop.

5. Do you know what time you were born?

between 3 and 5 am.

um, my college life. seriously. nothing really...

I don't like to attach myself sentimentally to objects anymore. Nothing good comes out of it.
